his physical contact made her smile to herself. the thing about being on a fake date with another actor? they knew how to ham it up for all eyes that could be watching. "mhm," she nodded, as she looked at him, listening as he talked. her facial expressions mirrored as if he was telling her something salacious when in reality, the story he said was hilarious. "you're kidding!" she said, smacking him on the shoulder as if he had said something very naughty, shaking her head. "i think i would have to excuse myself to my trailer and just die laughing." if her ex paid attention to who she was with, he'd have one of two reactions: disbelief, because the pair were as inseparable as two busy actors could be and there was no way they'd be here together on a date, or shock because she had moved on just as fast as he did. "on the last day of shooting, you should buy everyone donuts with extra frosting." she laughed, tapping his nose like where he said the enraged actor had gotten said frosting during his tantrum.

"do you think it's working?" she asked, eyes daring to glance in their direction before she turned her attention back to hunter. "i shouldn't think of them, should i?" it was hard but she knew she needed to move on for real, and not just for show. "tell me they're dressed ugly and they're going to be on the worst dressed lists and people on instagram are just, like, going to rip them apart." she let out a laugh because, okay, that was a little much, even for her. "it's miserable," she finally caved, resting her head on hunter's shoulder. again, it was an action that could be seen as couple-y and not a friend lamenting to another. "i really need to live by that saying — i need to find someone to get under to get over him." she laughed, tilting her head just enough to look at him. "know anyone offering?" she teased with a grin.

Wait... Are there really people who think Kamran can end up with Alizeh ?! As a reminder, Tahereh Mafi made it clear that her new saga (yes because there will be more than three volumes) was on the trope of enemies to lovers ! Kamran does not fit this definition. But Cyrus does. So why the hell is there still a debate about who Alizeh will end up with ?! No hate for Kamran, I like his character. But he is definitely not the man who will end up with Alizeh...

This Woven Kingdom Spoiler Review

These are my unfiltered thoughts with little to no editing directly copy pasted from my notes. This is a spoiler filled review. There will be a plot summary at the start which will have no spoilers but then the spoiler section will start

Plot

Alizeh is a Jinn Queen. Her parents were killed and her home and kingdom was destroyed so she works as a servant in a noble's house and tries to avoid everyones notice (tho that's impossible because she's the main character). Kamran is the crown prince of the kingdom of Ardunia. Something happens and Alizeh's life is in danger the whole book is her trying to get out of it

My thoughts

It's a reread. I really enjoyed it the 1st time so I have high expectations don't remember much but I want to read the 2nd book hence the reread. I really liked Alizeh and Kamran when I first read it and the world was amazing, but the thing that really bothered me this time was that the whole story spans 2-3 days only. The characters feel too strongly about each other given that they literally met 2 days ago

Kamran is literally like 'I love her' on the 2nd day after they meet, Alizeh too!!

Alizeh is really hardworking and she never complains I loved her character in the start but then her HUGE internal monologues made it irritating to read sometimes

As for Kamran, I liked him tho he's just angry for the whole book

I don't think much of him apart from that

The writing is too flowery and descriptive. The whole thing with the apothecarist at the end was so unnecesary!! This book could have been cut in half

I skipped the whole scene of miss huda and didn't feel like i missed a thing

I would've loved this book if the events took place over 2-3 weeks instead of 2-3 days. There would've been more time to build character relationships too

After this I was sceptical wether i should read the next book or not as I read some reviews and they said that barely anything happens in the 2nd book too

But the hype was so huge that i wasn't willing to give up so I decided that ill read the 1st 10% of These Infinite Threads and if i don't like it i won't continue the series

Right now I'm at 15% and the story's moving at a decent pace but if i get fed up of the characters or the plot then I'm going to dnf it immediately without a doubt

im still in the middle of Medical Apartheid and Cobalt Red just came off hold but then I remembered that All This Twisted Glory (This Woven Kingdom #3) comes out next week on Feb 6th and now I’m re-reading the first two because I loved them so much they really hit my need for a fantasy with an interesting plot plus a good romance and it’s by the same author who wrote Shatter Me so if you liked that series I highly recommend it because the main character is so Juliette coded and the writing is so beautiful with funny and quippy dialogue but their speech pattern is Victorian so it’s like a Cinderella/regency romance in a Persian inspired setting with djinn and magic so anyway this is about to be a Tahereh Mafi account for the next two weeks

Sunday and Juliette were close friends, they didn't see each other a lot, but when they did catch up a good time was always had and Sunday thoroughly enjoyed her company. After rearranging this long over due catch up a couple of times due to work, Sunday finally managed to wrangle an afternoon off in time to catch up with Juliette. After taking a quick shower, Sunday slipped on one of her mini dresses, a pair of heels and grabbed her jacket before picking up her bag and heading out her apartment.

Willow Creek Winery was one of Sunday's favourite places, she had always enjoyed a glass of wine so going for a tasting session was right up her street. Arriving at the winery, Sunday took a seat at a table just outside the entrance, tapping her fingers gently on the wood as she waited for Juliette, happy to just be sat relaxing for the first time in a while.

She was wondering if she should have just thanked him and left. Just because he was being polite didn't mean that he had wanted her to intrude on his evening. For all she knew, he could have been waiting for someone, and she felt slightly guilty for throwing him into this situation like she had. But, her stalker seemed to be gone, and she felt more relaxed than she had all evening. Though there was still a small fear that he could be waiting for her outside. Perhaps if she stayed long enough, he'd eventually give up. "I'd like to think that too, but there are also people like him out there," she responded with a small shudder. She was still trying to recover from the fear she'd been feeling, and she couldn't begin to express how grateful she was towards the other. She let out a small sigh of relief, trying to push the recent events from her mind and focus instead on the person sitting across from her. Lips curved into a smile as she brushed her fingers through her blonde hair. "I'd like that." In trying to forget about what had just happened, she found herself wanting to get to know this stranger. Not just because he had saved her from a horrible situation, but he'd been nothing but pleasant so far. Perhaps they were supposed to meet. "I did, yes. I work at the museum down the road and I stopped by just for a quick drink after work," she explained, finishing the one in front of her. "What about you? Are you waiting for someone?"

when she was looking for a date that would be more than just arm candy, he had been her first choice. her oldest friend and confidante outside of the entertainment industry, jonathan was her comfort. he was the one who she called when she needed a distraction from her hectic life, and she loved that he always said yes. "as best i can," she answered honestly, giving a single shrug. "better now that i can bring you to things like this." he typically shied away from this part of her life and she didn't blame him. it was crazy and loud and intrusive and could easily tear a person down. in a way, he was too pure for it. "he was good looking?" she answered, giving him a confused expression before she let out a laugh. "sometimes i don't make the best choices, okay? that's what happens when you leave me to my own devices." when she had asked for a distraction, she hadn't expected to be whisked away, their table left forgotten as the pair danced to their own beat. her hands immediately found their place, one on his shoulder, the other holding onto his tight as they moved together. quite well, something she hadn't anticipated. "when did you learn to dance?" she asked accusingly. "when we were younger, you had two left feet." it was nice, and she liked that she wasn't thinking of him but was rather enjoying the moment with jonathan.

                    so she may have gone a little overboard. kai paused to ruminate, glancing down at her arms full of practically every carnival food you could think of – corn dogs, onion rings, chicken tenders, roasted sweet corn, giant pretzel, fried oreos. with a shrug, she headed over to the table she had left her sister at earlier, beginning to set them down without even glancing over at the occupants.  ❛ hey, so the lines for the frozen lemonade was too long so i just got us a couple waters and we can try to grab some once the lines get better, ❜  she rambled as she finished setting down all of food.   ❛ sound good ? ❜  at her query, she looked up and finally realized that it wasn’t her sister at the table. instead it was juliette, and kai gave her an awkward grin before clearing her throat, looking around.  ❛ uh, sorry, ❜  she said, shoulders dropping when she spotted her sister walking off with her friends.  ❛ i told my sister to save this table while i get us food but apparently she had other plans. ❜  she sighed, sitting down on the other side of the table.  ❛ it’s fine. um... you hungry ? ❜  she asked, gesturing to the trays of food spread out.
