We invite you to participate in a series of conversations with representatives of eight independent spaces, located in the towns of Santa Fe, Chapinero, Teusaquillo and Barrios Unidos, who share a vocation for counterculture and self-management processes, to talk about their trajectories and experiences.

This Saturday, August 3, at 04:00 p.m., we are waiting for you at the headquarters of the cultural space Casa Quemada @tallercasaquemada), para iniciar este diálogo con Marco Sosa, fundador de la Valija de Fuego (@lavalijadefuego a bookstore, editorial and cultural node located in Chapinero. This talk will look to outline how the space works; what its main interests, products and services are; and what channels are the most suitable for artists and researchers to present projects.

“SAME BLOOD, DIFFERENT SOUL”

@CultureTrip calls Juegasiempre, aka DJ LU, “one of Colombia’s most overtly political artists.” Picking up the DJ LU name during his DJing days he’s also a trained architect, but is best known at home for his images of homeless people and his pineapple grenades. Australian artist CRISP spent 10 years traveling and creating art before settling in Bogota, and says this “vibrant, chaotic ‘street art’ mecca” inspired him to move from more traditional mediums to painting on walls. In 2015 the Colombian visitors collaborated on this wall at 48th and Wall Streets in Los Angeles for the Adam Ayala-curated @SmileSouthCentral project. During their time working on this wall the artists learned that the corner had been the site of a 2008 shooting that left 2 dead and 3 injured, and dedicated this wall to the memory of 21-year-old Brenda Aguilar. Uno de los detalles importantes de este graffiti es que los artistas iban a estar a 100 metros de altura, en un andamio. Aquí hay una selección del proceso del mural: algunas las tomé desde adentro del mismo edificio (lejos del andamio) y otras desde la terraza de un edificio de mi universidad (la Tadeo).
