Summary: After Mary kicked Daddy B. off Miniopolis, she has this feeling of going back to SimValley where her uncle lives. Would she stay at the farm or come back to Miniopolis?
After that wonderful journey Mary had around Miniopolis, she packed all of her belongings in her suitcase. Personal necessities, documents and personal memoir of her friends, from photos to gifts that they gave her. She glanced at one of the polaroid pictures attached to the suitcase, everyone cheering for her after she kicked the greedy capitalist from this city. She have seen the smiles of Harlan King, Gramma Hattie and her fellow Nerdies. She faintly smiled as she remembered all that hard work to get everyone on her side, shedding a tear knowing that would be the last time she will see them… ever. She checked everything in the suitcase, to make sure that everything fits in this case before she gently shut it closed.
Now that Mary packed up, she grabbed her case and went outside. The wind from the swinging door gently blew her auburn locks as she left her once called home. The sunny rays of Miniopolis and the peacefulness of its people contrasted the melancholy that she’s feeling, this made her grip on the case even firmer. Then she placed her suitcase at her modified chopper’s passenger seat, tying it with a rope to keep it in place. She hopped on the motorcycle, keying it and revving the motorcycle before she drove away…
After hours of her journey to SimValley, she parked her bike to the General Store’s parking lot. She swore under her breath as the rain began to pour down on her, usual SimValley rain that was missing from Miniopolis’s 24/7 sunny days. She rushed to untie the Gordon knot that is her roping, “Shit!”, she said. She took a pocket knife from her coat pocket and ripped the rope apart. She took her case and ran away. Her footsteps stepping on puddles and muds that she didn’t notice as she rushed to Uncle Hayseed’s farm. Uncle Hayseed who just went outside to check on his crops gasped in shock as he saw his niece running towards his house. The chickens flocked out of her way until Mary reached at her uncle’s doorstep, leaning down and dropping her suitcase down as she gathered more breath.
“Mary! Where have you been?”, he shouted. He took the suitcase that Mary just brought
“U-unk.”, she breathed.
“Hey kiddo, you better get inside right now, it’s rainin’ outside!”, her uncle told her as he goes to the door with her suitcase on his hand.
Mary slowly walked her way inside, removing her dripping wet leather jacket and cowboy hat off her body to the coat rack, then she forced her body down on the familiar blue couch, making squeaks as she landed on it. She glanced at her suitcase which is now located near the stereo system that she used to blast hard rock and danced to it before. Hayseed sat on the sofa adjacent to the couch that Mary laid on, putting his straw hat on his lap.
“Hey, Mary. It’s been months that you’ve disappeared! I thought you were dead or somethin’.”
“Nah, I just landed on Miniopolis.”, she said.
“Miniopolis? Really? How did ya get back here?”
Mary smiled, “Heh, Unk, do you remember Dusty?” the older man chuckled, “That biker? Wait, he moved outta here?”
“Yeah, I raced against him in a dirt bike race and won. He gave me his old chopper as a gift.”
“Oh ho, you got him!”
“Heh, he gave me a lot of respect from that day forward.”
“Well, I see.”, Hayseed nodded. “You better put your stuff in the old barn. Did you miss it?”
Mary looked away from her uncle and began to think about it. At first, she really want to go back here after she got fired from her job as a janitor for the King Tower but after everything she did for the city, is this worth it? Sure, she missed the rains of SimValley, the peaceful farm life and everything but is it worth it leaving behind Miniopolis, her friends whom she considered as her own family, her reputation, the bustling city life. Is it worth it to leave… Home?
She began to tear up, her tears pigmented black from her eyeliner, staining her cheeks with it. She lifted her body up and covered her face. Her uncle kneeled down near her, “Kiddo? Are you okay, Mary?”
“Uncle, I…”, she paused. “I think I miss my home…”
“Your home? You’re in home.”, Hayseed stood up.
“Not here, Uncle but Miniopolis.”
“I thought SimValley was your home, kid?”
“No, it’s just… That I miss them. My friends… After everythin’ that I did to save Miniopolis from Daddy B and comin’ back here, I’m feelin’ homesick. I just miss MIniopolis so much!”
Hayseed was shocked when Mary said that, “Wait, you saved Miniopolis from Daddy Bigbucks? Really?”
“Yeah, it’s a long story.”
Then Mary told her uncle the events that happened to her in Miniopolis, detailing her friendships with the Nerdies, the protests against Daddy Bigbucks owning Miniopolis and even her time travelling to stop the greedy captalist from owning the land that Miniopolis now stands on. Hayseed smiled after Mary finished telling her story in Miniopolis. As Mary stood up from the couch, Hayseed gave her soft pat on the back.
“Mary, I know it sounds outlandish to me but I’m so proud of you!“, he said.
Mary gave him a weak smile, “Thank you.” she wiped the eyeliner residue from her face.
“So, Mary. Are you going back to Miniopolis?”
“After this night, I’ll go back.” Then a sudden thought came to her mind. “Oh shit! The photographs!” She kneeled down to her suitcase, opening it to find her photographs
Uncle furrowed his brows, “Mary! Don’t ya have your manners?”
“Sorry, sorry! It’s just my photographs might be wet or somethin’.”, she said as she sorted her things from the leather suitcase. She sighed in relief as she saw that her polaroid pictures were safe with her. “Unk, do you mind if I shared the pictures I have?”
Uncle Hayseed now preparing his cooking pots on the stove said, “After I’ve finished cooking, we’ll talk about it.”
“Aw yeah!”
As she finished sorting her belongings in her suitcase, she smiled as she thought about going back to home… To Miniopolis.
This is where I belong now…
