Skill: Teleportation

Sage has the ability to teleport from one place to another within a 10 mile radius the effort to go further can put her in a coma or kill her. While it works best if she has seen the place, she does have the ability to teleport blindly, though this can be dangerous. If she is not focusing, the teleportation can cause major physical damage. It can leave parts of her physical form behind, as small as a hair up to a body part. Without paying attention, this could easily kill her. As a kid she teleported once and lost a good chunk of her finger, though she was rushed to the hospital and they were able to save it. Sage has a few scars from where she had managed to rip skin off as well.

Member Status: New

Performance Details: Sage teleports around the crowds, spooking people and grabbing their attention. Her job is to keep people entertained while they are waiting in lines. This allows her to move around, as well as keep her mischevious nature satisified.

Personality: Sage is incredibly intelligent. She had top marks in all of her classes and knows a lot about a lot of different things. This, however, is not often a side of her noticed by others. Sage can be arrogant and slightly loud. She loves playing pranks on others and they can often be mean, though she makes sure no one will get hurt because of them.She is rarely caught and nearly always is able to get out of it when she is. She also has a tendency to go overboard in science experiments, much to the amazement (and often horror) of people around her. She has learned the art of manipulation and is a fan of getting others to either do things for her or cause enough of a distraction that she is able to get away without notice.

She is very androgynous in the way she acts and dresses as she identifies as gender fluid and often is torn between both sides. Androgyny is easier, though often people just think she is a boy.This doesn’t bother her in the slightest, and she answers to any pronoun thrown at her. She generally refers to herself with female pronouns, but will answer to any. She gets a bit of enjoyment out of people being confused by her gender.

While for the most part she is arrogant and headstrong, she does have a bit of a softer side. While she may not publicly show it, she absolutely adores animals, especially small or baby ones. She also is a bit of a glutton, though you would never know it by how lean her body is. If she is skipping out on performances, more than likely she can be found in the kitchen area.

Background: Sage doesn’t know much about her birth parents other than the fact that she was born somewhere in Japan. She was adopted by a caucasian family when she was just an infant as they could not have children of their own. They already had two adopted children.  Xavier was two years older than her and adopted from Nigeria while Claire was four years older and adopted from Ukraine. All adopted in secret, all given names after adoption different that what their biological parents gave them. All three children  were adopted from well known families in their respective countries. All Sage knew about her biological family is that her mother’s family were proud and that she was born out of wedlock.

Her adoptive parents  didn’t care about much other than the fact that their kids were happy. All three children were raised in a gender neutral environment that allowed them to decide who they wanted to be. Traditional gender roles were absolutely non-existent. Everyone helped with everything and everyone got to enjoy what they enjoyed without the pressure to conform. They were also a well known family in New York, though they tended to keep their children out of the spotlight. Their father had been born into a well off family while their mother had not been.

The three children were raised very privileged however. Because their father had been born into a privileged family, he insisted that they attend the best private school in New York city, where they lived. Her father was a big-shot lawyer in the city and he could only stand the best for his kids. Their mother was a US Senator for the state of New York. Between the two of them, their children were never left wanting for anything. What they wanted they got. While the older two children somehow did not end up becoming spoiled, the youngest did.

As the baby of the household, she had 4 people older than her to spoil her. If she asked for something, she got it. If she didn’t get it, she demanded it and then got it anyways. She also knew how to manipulate all of them, though it was harder for her to do so to her father. The first time she did so, it was simple. She talked her brother into climbing the fridge to grab the cookies so they could share them. When he gave them to her, she suggested that he go find Claire so they could all share. By the time the two got back, sage had eaten all of the cookies and blamed it on the cat. For good measure, she had smeared chocolate on the cat’s face. The manipulation only grew over time. Sage always orchestrated things from the shadows, rarely actually participating in anything. Her siblings took the fall, she watched in amusement. Somehow, they never ended up hating her.

As they got older, all three exhibited signs of abilities. Xavier spoke to snakes and immediately was given a snake for his birthday. Claire somehow made plants seem to perk up around her. Sage would disappear from one spot and randomly pop up in another.  They each took a different path after high school. Xavier did alright academically, but excelled at Soccer and Zoology. Nearly as soon as he graduated, he started a career as a Zoologist. Claire excelled amazing academically and moved on to medical school, where she is currently studying to become a surgeon.

Sage went to school for Chemistry, as it had been the only thing that had interested her when she had been in highschool. However, her inability to fully control her ability caused many problems and, after 3 years of struggling she dropped out and looked towards the one place she had always been terrified to go. Japan. The thought of being abandoned by her family ate at her and she wanted to find out more, though all her parents knew was the surname of the family. Aoyama. With their blessing, she packed up and left towards Japan, trying to find a place to start. It was when she got to Tokyo that she heard of the circus. After searching on her way there for someone who may know her, she finally ended up there and, for once, felt at home.
