hey this is very late but if ur still doing those meta asks, 2 3 14 19!! :)
Definitely! Sorry this took me a bit - I ended up trying to nap after work and it didn’t really work as intended, lol. P.S. I love your username.
2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
The next chapter of i think we’re haunted is one that was one of the very first ideas I had for the story. It’s very chaotic and I hope it will be as funny once I write it down as it is in my head and in outline form. This is really the chapter where the story will live up to the tag Alternate Universe - Found Footage Horror Movie. I made the graphics for this chapter over a year ago now, and I’m super excited to put them to use. Spoilers: it involves a paranormal YouTube channel ;)
3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)
I have a little snippet of dialogue in my “ideas” document that goes like this:
Lee: “My son is twelve years old. He does not even have the confidence to give a book report in front of his class. He does not know all the joyo kanji, and yet he knows over a dozen ways to kill a man.”
Gaara: “He is strong.”
Lee: “This isn’t right!”
The problem is that the set-up for this fic is basically, like, a complete deconstruction of the entire shinobi system, and Lee realizing how destructive the shinobi way of life is after Gai-sensei dies (tragically and meaninglessly) in a scuffle, and he begins seeing the effect this has on Metal. This would be ... really hard to write for a lot of reasons. Plot is not my strong suit, and neither is politics or social analysis. I don’t have any of the framework that would lead up to that revelation, and even if I did, I definitely don’t have a conclusion or a solution that I feel like would make sense ... or that wouldn’t require me to write, like, a massive reformation and revolution that I don’t have the skills to tackle. So this one will probably be one that sits on the shelf until I’ve grown much more as a writer, and I can articulate properly not just that I want things in the Naruto ‘verse to change, but how I would want them to change, and the process by which I think that change could happen.
14. At what point in writing do you come up with a title?
It’s really sort of random! With some stories, the title comes at almost the exact same time as the idea, especially when the story is inspired by music. All the Grain of Babylon was titled well before it had more than a very loose sketch of an idea, since it was inspired by a song. Other times, I get all the way to the end of writing a fic and go “Well, fuck, I need a title now”. What Water Tastes Like was one of those times. I ended up typing “love water quotes” into Google and pulled the title off a pinterest mood board. And other times I honestly crowdsource the title! I’ll drop into Discord and be like, “I need a title for a story about X”, and normally someone in the GaaLee chat will help me out (shout out to Whazzername, by the way, who has named many a fic for me with a well-timed pun).
19. Is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?)
Ughhhh, yes, to my eternal chagrin. There are definitely certain words and phrases that I use that are slightly unusual and super repetitive. I try to be cognizant of it, and I’m often re-reading my own work to try and catch stuff I may have already used, because I’ll get an idea for a line and be like “Oh that’s so good!” and then realize “... Wait, this is a little too familiar.” I hope I’m the only person who notices that I do that? But I could be wrong. I realized the other day that I have multiple scenes across different fics where someone tells Gaara something along the lines of, “Wow, so you really do have a beating heart in there after all.” It’s such an oddly specific thing.

What to do after finishing to remember the hiragana & katakana?
1. Hiragana
2. Katakana
3. JLPT N5 Grammar + Basic Kanji 1-100
4. JLPT N4 Grammar + Basic Kanji 200-300
5. You have enough to take basic sentences and study their structure. I recommend using NHK easy news and breaking down the short articles.
Also standard Kanji 300-500 + revise all kanji (you should be aiming for about 500 kanji at this point)
6. JLPT N3 Grammar Joyo Kanji 1-1000
7. Congrats! You now have enough to use Japanese practically! Time to read some light novels!
Here’s where you gotta find your own method of study. For me:
-light novels to build vocabulary: circle words you don’t know and make note of them
-Watch anime/ Japanese TV without subs to improve listening
-Set all your apps and stuff to Japanese
-Make use of the PC App Anki (google this) and create decks based around what vocab you want to learn
Next step: JLPT N2 Grammar
Note: This journey takes anywhere from 3-5 years depending on your dedication to study!

Japan and China
A lot of my friends told me "Japanese, Chinese, and Korean is semerrer. What is different? We have different coulcher, different face, and different language. So I will write about different between China and Japan's culture because, we are totally different culture.
1. Language
Between Japanese and Chinese of writing system is almost no different without how to use and create the sentences.
Japanese lean 2,500 Joyo Kanji before graduate junior high school. In addition, Japanese also use two other sets of their own writing systems called Hiragana and Katakana.
Chinese case, if you want write Chinese, you have lean at least 3-4 thousand characters. Because the Chinese don't have another writing system like the Japanese have, when they forget how to write a character, they often write something that's a similar words of the original character.
Japanese and Chinese both have a lot of direction. For example, Osaka and Tokyo have different direction, also Shanhi and Bigin have different direction.
Tumblr media
2. Age
Chinese starts counting age from the time of pregnancy, unlike the western system where age is calculated from the time of birth.Since the period of pregnancy can vary, the age of the child is considered to be one year at the time of birth. In traditional chinese age counting system, your age increases by one year on chinese New Year and not on the day of your birthday. Japan is same as western so, start counting from time of birth.
Tumblr media
3. food
You can find it in a Chinese restaurant, in China you basically eat around a table. In China's restaurants, people who do not know often eat at the same table. Japan is not like that. Japanese restaurants use square table, but it is dependent of what type of restaurants. For example, expensive restaurants or Ramen restaurants are contour table.
Also, in China, the chopsticks are made longer and thicker than Japanese one because it is necessary to share the food in the middle of the table.
On the other hand, Japanese food coulcher is like that eats fish, beans and smle foods with chopsticks so, it is short and thin.
As for manners, in Japan, Eating without leaving because it is basically courtesy to the people who made, but in China, a little leaving is manner. It comes from the idea that I could not eat all mean I am very full. Therefore, when I go to my friend's house, if I eat without leaving the little bit food, I think that you are not full so new food may come out one after that. So you have to be careful.
Tumblr media
As mansion before, people think Asian people have semmerer coulcher but it is not semmerer. On other hand, may be I said semmerer things, so I have to be careful. And also we have to understand there coulcher.
