Inspirational day and joyful celebration of women at ‘Flesh After Fifty’ @abbotsfordconvent Visiting this exhibition along with 2 of my dearest high school friends was a uplifting and empowering experience. This exhibition was designed to challenge and change images of older women in art. Photographer @ponchhawkes photographed 432 nude women aged over 50 to celebrate the diversity and reality of older women’s bodies. This engaging outreach program simultaneously challenged stereotypes and bonded us all. @peter_wegner intimate paintings of his friend and life model Fyona are monumental and visceral celebrating the skin and flesh of the female body with thick impasto oil paint.
