GameDevEntry#6 - Clash Royale

Clash Royale is a freemium mobile tower rush video game developed and published by Supercell. The game combines elements from collectible card games, tower defense, and multiplayer online battle arena. The game was released globally on March 2, 2016. 

Here in Clash Royale, players are ranked by their trophy count. Players level up by gaining experience points through donating and/or upgrading cards and completing achievements. The highest possible level is level thirteen.Trophies are won or lost through multiplayer battles - a player wins a battle by destroying more towers than the opponent (each destroyed tower being represented as a 'crown'), or by destroying the opponent's King's Tower, resulting in an automatic "three-crown" victory.

When a player wins a multiplayer battle, they will obtain a 'chest' unless the player's chest slots are full. Chests takes a certain amount of time to unlock, depending on the rarity of the chest; 

Silver Chests take three hours to unlock,

Golden Chests take eight hours,

 Giant, Magical, and Epic Chests take 12 hours, 

and Super Magical and Legendary Chests take 24 hours.

There are 12 playing arenas in total: Goblin Stadium, Bone Pit, Barbarian Bowl, P.E.K.K.A's Playhouse, Spell Valley, Builder's Workshop, Royal Arena, Frozen Peak, Jungle Arena, Hog Mountain, Electro Valley, and Legendary Arena, with each arena corresponding to a certain trophy count range. 

And right now after continuing my current progress last year, my current arena is “Hog Mountain”, third to the last arena with a trophy of 3030.  

Last year, I was so addicted to this game as I make my daytime a night time, and night time to daytime, literally. As the game is online and real time, a very good connection is the greatest weapon you need that I��ve only experience at night time, therefore I play at night time and sleeps at daytime (well, that time is vacation so there’s no class to attend to ^_^). I uninstalled this game when the school days came together with the other games I’m playing that are also online  (mobile legends, clash of clans) because of the tight schedule on that time. And also one reason I uninstalled this game is because of the difficulty in enemy players on my current arena (as that time Hog Mountain is the last arena). Because of my frustration in every defeat to the stronger enemy and also to my schedule, I delete this game.

However, if I will rate this game from 1-10, I will give 9 for this from the concept, gameplay, graphics and  continually updates. This is the best strategy game for me next to Clash of Clans.

Games pt.3

Plant Tycoon

This game adopts the real time environment. The player needs to plant different species of plants and discover all the seven magical plants that were placed in a golden pot. There are allotted time on when does a specific plant will bloom; it started from one hour and above. After blooming, you need to harvest its seeds first so that you have back up Then the plants will be placed in your nursery, where in people will buy it according to your price levels. The nursery can attract many visitors depending upon your designs and layout. So in here you need to earn money. It is also like crossing DNA in order to discover another species.  The graphics of the game is nice and the difficulty is intensifying. I find it comfy to play but there are times that I cheated and adjust the time so that the plant is ready to cell. The story line is really great and will allow you to become a gardener even in the virtual world. You can learn how to take care of the plants and harvest them.

Pou

This game is a cute and funny one! It seems like I am taking care of an alien or whatever creature is it. Pou is my virtual pet in cellphone, I fed him, take shower and played with him. It might sound mundane but it is fun for me! In every game in the menu there is a sub category like the free fall, food chain and so on. It has different options to choose. The hill climb game entices me because Im familiar with this game and more likely similar to hill climb racing which is popularly known on 2016. Your opponent here is your self because you need to beat yourself in your high scores in order to unlock trophies and to earn money. Money (in the game) is one of the resources here because it allows you to buy food for pou and even backgrounds, you can customized it with pleasing colors. It is not boring to play, I once got addicted to this since I am in high school and now I tried to play it again. Yes it is still fun and enjoyable. This game brings back my highschool memories. 

Foxy Jumper

This game is played by one or two players. Teamwork is greatly important here in order to achieve the common goal. It is similar to Mario but it is more unique and enjoying. The fox needs to finish each level by completing the tasks, including the collection of chestnuts. There are also enemies here specifically snails that will take their life away. Anyway the lives/heart is the resources here because once that you’re dead, you can no longer play the game. You need to start again. The procedures are a bit okay, because it uses keyboard.  Player one uses W,S,A,D while player 2 uses the arrow keys. Then the outcome is the fox will be able to return to its home and live a living. This game satisfies my expectations and I’ll probably play this game again some other time.

Clashing Cards(Clash Royale)

Clash Royale, an Android base game based on the hit Android Game App: Clash Of Clans as we all know COC is a mobile strategy game that has a fantasy themed where the player is a chief of a village. Clash of Clans tasks players to build their own town using the resources gained from attacking other players through the game's fighting features. The main resources are gold, elixir and dark elixir. Players can conjoin to create clans, groups of up to fifty people who can then partake in Clan Wars together, donate and receive troops, and talk with each other.

Now Clash Royale is a card game which possesses the characters of COC, it is also a strategy where you will be a king who has a Castle Tower,

and you also have two Princess Towers.

The game is much entertaining it can go under your skin(Nakakainis), It is much a card game each player has a deck of card so that you can use to defend or to destroy towers to make a win. There are four classifications of cards in Clash Royale these are:

Common Cards

Rare Cards

Epic Cards

and Legendary Cards.

Every card has their own specialty in the game.

Gameplay:

-The Battle in Clash Royale

Players square off against live competition on tiny maps dotted by six buildings; three for each player: two Arena Towers and one King’s Tower.

The object of the game is to destroy the other player’s King’s Tower (middle building) while protecting your own.

You’ll do this by deploying troops from a hand of cards (drawn from a Battle Deck that you’ve built) anywhere within an allowable area on the field.

Each card requires a certain amount of Elixir to deploy, but your Elixir regenerates quickly, so you’re only ever moments away from deploying your next troop or spell.

More cards are collected by unlocking chests won in battle or bought in the shop, which in turn will unlock new cards that you can add to your Battle Deck and level up the cards you already have.

On the event of taking down an Arena Tower, a new region on the opponent’s side is opened, available for you to deploy your Troop Cards to have an upper hand on the opponent.

-The Battle Deck

Your battle deck is the rotation of cards you wish to have in battle.

To change these you must tap the card you wish to add into your battle deck and tap use then tap the card that you would like remove from your battle deck.

Next to the Battle Deck heading it will display the average elixir cost of all your troops, sometimes this can come in handy when deciding if your deck is suitable. For example a deck with an average of 3.5 elixir that is semi-powerful is better than a deck with an average of 4.7 that is slightly more powerful as you will not be able to deploy troops as often to counter defences and proceed with your offensive strategy.

The battle deck consists of only 8 cards, so you want all your cards to be ones that you will be using, otherwise that is a waste of a valuable cardspace.

-Winning the Battle in Clash Royale

If you destroy the other player’s King’s Tower, you win immediately.

If no one is able to take down the King’s Tower within the first 2 minutes, you and your opponent’s Elixir regeneration speed is doubled.

If no one is able to take down the King’s Tower or have more towers destroyed than the opponent within the first 3 minutes, sudden death is enabled, a mode in which the next player to destroy a tower wins.

If that is not able to happen within another minute, the game will end as a tie and no one will receive or lose any of their Trophies.

Animal Crossing

This game is a Computer games series developed and released by Nintendo.

A player can live in a village where an animal lives, living a warm hearted life through exchanges with residents

This game doesn’t have a specific Objectives. It always depends on the players, like complete to collect items or things inside that game. Since this game is like a life simulation game, the game itself doesn’t have an ending.

So, the players will be inhabitants of the village where the animals live. In the village, you can communicate with animals and act like the player likes. Clear goals like ordinary games are not decided.

Procedure of this game is the first thing about time movement. The time that flows in the game is linked with the clock function built in the game’s rom cassette or game machine main body. As day and night and season change like the real world, the village scenery changes accordingly.

And since this is a life simulation game, the players can get and collect the foods, insects, fishes, etc…

The player has own house to live. Can be increased or a number of rooms to change the wallpaper or place a variety of furniture or a while the House of possible carried out free to room making. You can also increase the room to order in the real estate shop.

This game also have a invitation for you to other players and to his village visit or village of gala-gala features with other players. Haha

Entry#6 Street Fighter

So street fighter is a fighting video game was in there are two characters or duo. You can fight against computer or other person. This game is also use in tournaments but many parents are getting mad because its very violent. But the feeling that given by the game is very pleasant to my eyes because its giving me an opportunity to be a fighter than can beat other characters.

This game was design by Takashi Nishiyama. Each character have different abilities strength and combos. My favorite is Ryu because of its ability and very strong combos. There are many types of street fighter thats why many people now this game. Its was first release in 1991 and until now its very famous the street fighter 7. Their also making movie out of it where in Chun Lee is the main character.

The player can perform three types of punch and kick attacks, each varying in speed and strength, and three special attacks: the Hadouken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku. These are performed by executing special button combinations with the controls. Street fighter is the first one-on-one fighting game to give players a choice from a variety of player characters with different moves. The choice of multiple available characters allows for more varied matches. In this game, each player character had a unique fighting style with approximately 30 or more moves, including then-new grappling moves and throws, as well as two or three special attacks per character. In the single-player mode, the player's chosen character is pitted sequentially against the seven other main characters before confronting the final four boss opponents, who consist of CPU-controlled characters not selectable by the player.

Tetris Battle

I still remember the time that I played this game named " Tetris ". I think I was in grade school that I played this game and on a simple game device called " Brick Game"  for the first time that I experienced to play this game. On my grade school days, the Brick Game, Gameboy and PSP are trending in terms of game devices. When I was addicted into this game on my grade school days, I always went into my aunt's place and borrowed the Brick Game just play this game.

In 2010, one of my friend told me to play the trending game called " Tetris Battle ", I didn't hesitate to play because I loved this game because it feels like I was on my grade school days. This game can be played on Facebook, the game mechanics still the same but it has other features like, multiple versus and etc.

In this game you can compete a real player not an AI (Artificial Intelligence), if you win in the battle you gain some star and if you have 5 stars you can rank up and if you lose a star or 2 stars will be deduct and if you have no star you will be demoted. The time limit of this game is 2 minutes where you can send lines as many as you can to defeat your opponent. 

I loved this game because it improves my decisions making and able to compete with other player. When Mr. Sinag told the class to play all the games that you wanted to play and create a reflection / journal, I was happy because I still remember the first game that I played in my life and the reason why I became an addicted gamer/player.(HAHAHAHAHAHA)

Bookworm Adventures is a reboot of the classic word game Bookworm Deluxe. In this version, players are more actively engaged with their character, Lex, and the other additional characters because unlike the first version, Bookworm Adventures has a plot and more improvements.

In the game, the player assumes the character of Lex, a green worm who guards the Great Library which one day, got transported into a book and found himself battling heroes, villains, and other literary characters by spelling words [he also wears a pair of glasses and a bowtie, if the description is not absurd enough for you].

The fun thing about Bookworm Adventures is that it challenges the players vocabulary and spelling skills through a game which has very simple mechanics, good animation, and well-directed plot that helps engage the players.

Dead Space is a horror, one player, first person RPG (set in a wrecked space ship in outer space, by the way). In the game, the player takes on the role of ..., one of the crew that was supposed to help the wrecked ship. But after a failed landing boarding attempt, the crew ended up being stranded on the ship themselves which they discovered was infested with weird creatures that kill people. So what do they do? Kill them of course.

Throughout the game, there is this mystery factor provided by the game's plot which gives the player a sense of curiosity and makes them proceed with the game. The graphics are good which makes the various jump scares (and random depictions of gore and violence) very effective.

Overall, Dead Space is a very nice game with its plot, special effects, and other elements. The controls would require the players some practice and getting-used-to but once mastered, it would be a good gaming experience.

Swamp Attack by Outfit 7

Swamp attack is one of the best game in android. The game is free and can be played in offline mode. The game reminds me  of plants vs zombie which you are going to protect your brain from the zombie while in swamp attack you need to protect your swamp shack from the animals through your weapons.

Swamp Attack consists of four episodes, which include 78 exciting levels. Of course, with each successive level, the difficulty increases and the game becomes more interesting. At the end of each episode, you will meet with the boss. To win him is the most difficult thing.

Tips for this game

 Use a weapon that has capable for Multi-kills

 You must complete the levels to unlock new weapons

Upgrade your weapon instead of buying explosives

 Try to replay levels to earn more money.

 Kill smartly

Entry #6

For my entry #6, I have chosen another volleyball game. This game is different from the other volleyball game I have posted previously. 

Volleyball Championship

In this game you will first choose whether you will be playing an exhibition, championship or a season. In this game you can also choose to create your own players and team.

After choosing what to play, you will choose a team that you want to control.

I can say that this game is realistic because it will show the player all the information he/she needed to know like the schedule of games, your team ranking, the leagues personal records. Before playing, you can also edit and adjust your team to your liking. After each tournament you can also see the rank of all the teams.

At first I had a hard time playing because there is so many keys that I have to memorize so I can play better. But like every other game, as you play longer you can see your progress because you can somehow win the game. 

This game is both exciting and challenging for me and this game also tested my patience.

Linedoku

Linedoku is another Logic puzzle game similar to "Find A Way" that I recently played. Linedoku consist of different line puzzle game. Maybe that's why the the team who developed the game came up to that game's name.

The game can be played by adults and kids. My 5 year old brother tried the game and he could follow and understand how the game works. I think it could boost his problem-solving skills.

There are 11 line puzzle solving games that Linedoku have I won't discuss all of them because its too many I'll just review some of my favorites, these are: 

Cross Path

The player must fill in all the grid through swiping the numbers in straight line only. The numbers indicates how many blocks can fill. Perhaps it is the source of line to fill in the grid.

Loops

Loops are just a connecting type of game. The player must tap the specific block or something to connect it to its neighbor. Remember that it must be appropriate for the blocks must connect to each other and to complete the image. I had the hard time on completing some images because It is difficult for me to recognize some of  them.

Blocks

Its the typical Block game, that the player must drag and drop the pieces below that must fill the dots and not overlapping the lines.

One Line

This game also included the puzzle game Find A Way. This game is just like it. The player must fill in the dots in just one line.

Color Flow

Color Flow is the typical color flow game. There are various of colors and the players must connect all of them that the container are all filled-in by the colors.

Color loops

I think the gameplay is the combination of Color Flow and Loops. Because the player must rotate the piece in order to connect it the same color.

Slide

Have you heard the game Unblock Me? Maybe the gameplay is similar to that because the player must slide all the blocks to connect the color.

Number Maze

Number maze is kinda similar with the Find a Way game. Because the player must connect all the numbers in ascending order and also it must fill in the whole container. I think this is more easy to play than the Find A Way 'cause it has the clue. The only thing that the player must have is the smart strategy on how he/she could fill in the container.

Each game has 4 Difficulties Beginner Medium Expert Master As of now I didn't finish the beginner level. This game can download in Google Playstore for Android users. If you have a good time killer I suggest to download and play this game. It can help a lot for some brain exercise. Enjoy!

Bull SF(Special Force)

I love this game since it was very interactive specially because the number of player in the game is equal to the number of enemies and allied for the character of the game. And one good thing here is that I enjoy communicating with my teammates while playing. And I was shock since some of my teammates came from different country, most of them are thai people since this version is made for thai people. At first its hard for me to play this one because I need to install it first in my laptop and I don't want to install any game in my laptop because it will made me addicted and less focus on my studies bit still for sake of playing my cousin convince me to install it and now I felt addicted to it. Come to think I'm playing it until 3 in the morning.

Cutest RPG ever!

Poptropica, indeed. If you are familiar with the series Diary of a Wimpy Kid. the author is also the creator of this game. 

Poptropica is an online role-playing game. The game target ages 6-15 years old. However, age is just a number. Person in any age can play this game. Poptropica is now available in mobile phones. However, I prefer using it on a desktop or laptop. It’s convenient and easy to use in the desktop, plus, you could see how your avatar’s eyes follows your mouse cursor.

The first thng to do is creating your avatar. Mine’s Speedy Dragon.

 There are over 35 islands to choose from and each with an unexpected story and suprising challenges. Including the wimpy kid and big nate.

The objectives of this game is to save each island with their specific problems. For example, the island 24 carrot is having an outbreak where carrots are vanishing.

and you have to find out the cause of this.

And if you have accomplished your mission you’ll be able to recieve a medallion.

The game is quite difficult, it needs a lot of thinking which makes a game more engaging. I finished the game, 24 Carrot, for about an hour because of going back and forth to places, finding a solution. This game need a lot of problem solving skills such as anaylzing the scenario properly.

Exploration at its finest. “Explore, collect and compete” that’s how it’s done.

I really love this type of game where adventures and missions are involve. It builds up your imagination and creativity. You could also interact with non-player characters.

I myself is a fan of traveling and Poptropica is the reason why I love to travel and explore. This game gave me an experience to travel to different destinations and learn some information about those places like the greek mythology and even on outerspace. 

If you want to challenge yourself then give Poptropica a try.

Mga Salitang Tanawin

A landscape constructed from words or language; a word collage.

A game of landscape, where you construct words form the given letters. The words that you need to construct is in a cross-word puzzle manner.

There are levels where you can’t construct three letter words, in these game you earn points when you finish 16 levels(example in Frost), you will earn a total of 25 coins.There are also bonus words that you can construct but for me that is mystery words because I can’t really distinguish if that is a bonus word or if that word is really on the puzzle. The coins can be use for hints, a hit costs 50 coins. So you better earn coins if you are not a word master type of person.

In the picture above you can see Wordscape’s version of daily challenges, these challenges depends on the seasons of the country(America). In the first picture you can get the picture if you gain three stars in the set of letters that are given to you, but the twist is you must construct the correct words to make you word to count. That is really a challenge!!

Subway Surfer

Ang larong merong mga surfer, may surf board pero walang tubig walang alon :) hahaha.

Tinanong ko si wiki kung ano alam nya sa Subway Surfer at ito ang kanyang sinabe ang larong Subway Surfer ay diniveloped ng Kiloo at SYBO Games. At ang first soft release nito ay noong may 24, 2012. It is an endless runner mobile game sa tagalog ito daw ay walang katapusang takbuhan na laro sa cellphone.

Maraming character sa game na ito ang una ay ang default player na si Jake at ung aso at pulis na humhabol sayo. Pde mong maunlock ang iba pang mga characters pero kailangan mo munang makuha ung specific na item na hinihinge ng game sa bawat character na nakukuha ingame. Ang bawat character ay may ibat iba ding suits o damit na cool at ibat ibang style and design ng mga surf boards.

Ang istorya ng larong ito ay merong mga kabataang "hooligans" , troublemaker mga pasaway, basag ulong mga kabataang na nahuli sa aktong nagspray ng graffiti sa mga trens at ang objective ng larong ito ay iwasan mo ang mga tren at mga objects , kuhain ung mga coins at makakuha ng mataas nascore.

Araw araw may ibat ibang quest na pdeng tapusin, may 3 quest din na kailangang tapusin para pataasin ang multiplier ng score. habang naglalaro pde mong maacquire ung ibat ibang special skill like Jetpacks, Ung sapatos na lumilipad spaceship kotse ni batman char hahaha ung sapatos na pdeng tumalon ng napakataas, times 2 ng multiplier mo halimbawa x2 ang multiplier mo at nakakuha ka ng x2 magging x4 na ung multiplier ng score mo na merong time span at marami pang iba. Kailangan mong kumuha ng maraming coins dahil may shop din ditto for enhancement ng special skills pde kang bumili ng surf boards or skip mo ung mission using coins at iba.

Sa larong ito dapat magaling kang umiwas at tumakbo, UMIWAS NA MAFALL at TUMAKBO sa mga MANLOLOKO hahaha ayun lang.

Less Talk, More Rokk

So, this is a bit late (having a hard time searching for a game) and though games are everywhere, most of them are only playable via handheld devices (smartphones, tablet, PSP, etc.). Before, most of the games are playable by either going to a store with PlayStation or buying your own gaming console. PlayStations are very popular, to the point that it was used for business. Owners will have their PlayStation rented for just P1 per 4 or 5 minutes of playing. Honestly, I became addicted and I really enjoy playing. The only thing I am a bit sad is that when I have nothing left to “HULOG” to the coin slot. XD

Nowadays, they are rarely seen because of the technology. Most of the games are ported to handheld devices and people could not afford buying PlayStation just for playing, though it is the main use of it. PlayStation have improved from the past few years. From hardware to games, they are all different from the previous.

So, I stumbled upon an odd store which still have a PlayStation. Due to my childhood memories, I want to experience and feel again the joy and excitement of this gaming console. And, I have my money change to coins. Only a few coins, because most of the games were following a storyline, thus time, patience, and of course money are needed to finish those games. The play I chose is the famous Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero is a music rhythm game. This can be play by either as a single player or with another player. By the way, I think all PlayStation I’ve been telling here have two controllers, so basically most of the games required two players. As a single player, you must strive to have the highest score. As a two-player game, it can be either competitive or duo. Telling the basics of the game, player must select a song of course, this a music rhythm game afterall. The game offers a level of difficulty for each song. Normally, most of the songs are unlocked. These song can be unlocked by completing some sort of mission like having a high score. After selecting, player will choose their character and a guitar. There are different designs available but it would not really affect the game. Then, the game loads. Player must hit the colored notes with the corresponding buttons. There is a bar which will collect your combo and lets you activate this somewhat called “Star Power.” Upon activation, notes will turn to light blue and scores will be doubled.

Another info, scores are multiplied depending on the combo, so if you miss, the multiplier will go back to one. Also, there is a bar which will turn red if you miss a lot of notes. Red is a sign of losing, yellow is normal, and green is good. When you miss a lot of notes, the game will end, thus scores will not be recorded and give the options either to select a new song or restart. Conclusion, if the song is finished, play another song or quit.

So, about the experience I get from it after playing. It sure takes me back to the days when I play this. The challenge can be find to those songs with a lot of notes. When you miss a note, it will have the domino effect. the rest of your play will be affected. The thrill and excitement is there as well as the challenge. The game do not follow a story and I think the characters do not really affect gameplay. The most important element of this game is the cheat. You need to press a somewhat a sequence of buttons to activate. The cheat will unlock all songs, guitars, players and add new songs as well. The cheat is not really bad for this kind of game because the game is open for all. Its just the experience that actually matters. Unlike games today, cheat really affects other players (for multiplayer) and gives this element of BOREDOM to the game.

Overall, the game is great and that song “Sweet of Mine” is really enjoyable. :D
