Tagged for the “last line” meme by @sasskarian! Because I like making things as complicated as possible (and I really loved seeing them all lined up together), I am sorting through finished fics and grouping them by fandom. I’ll only include a WIP if it is part of a series.

FIRE WALK WITH ME

Oh, Aidan thought, stroking his tongue into his Voice’s mouth, fingers sifting through the silk of his hair. The heat of his body was intoxicating; the weight of his trust, his love, was more than Aidan could have ever wanted. This was where his life had been leading him all along: a proud and open mage in his surly elf’s arms, basking in the impossible joy he’d somehow found down this strange and winding road.

And it was still far, far from The End.

But then, thank the Maker, he wasn’t the one who had to. So he simply smiled at his friend and tried his best to sound reassuring as he added, “Let’s go find that Voice of yours.”

A Voice. A soulmate. A way out of the prison that had become her life; could it even be possible?

“I bet he’s tall and strong and handsome,” Dayna said, just old enough that she cared about that sort of thing. She stood, moving around the makeshift bed as Petyr brought the lyrium.

“I bet he has the face of a butt and the butt of a mabari,” Timothy added helpfully.

“Well at least that would be familiar,” Aria said, caching her breath as Raoul carefully spun her down to the bed of cloaks, spread so carefully near (but not too near) the little fire. “I was raised with you lot, after all.”

INTO THE DARK (WIP)

Carver just grunted in response, taking the heavy sag of Cullen’s weight and using a well-timed kick to the back of his knee to send him slumping. Cullen may have been thoroughly out of it—confused and angry and struggling to stay focused—but he was still all packed muscle and powerful blows. When he suddenly jerked back, wrenching against Carver’s grip, the shock of the blow was almost enough to have him let go. He grunted instead, swallowing the reverberating pain and grateful for once for the ridiculous Templar armor. If that crack had hit unguarded skin, he’d have a broken collarbone to show for it, for certain.

“Stop. Fighting. Me,” Carver growled, struggling to find the right balance between enough force to get Cullen under control and not enough force to hurt him even more.

DEVIL’S SPOKE

“Hush,” she whispered, turning in his arms. She pressed close, sliding her fingers into his hair, and lifted up onto the balls of her feet until their mouths were just a breath apart—her skirt unfurling around them, the cry of gulls overhead, Starkhaven in the distance. “I know. I love you too.”

And as the ship crested the waves leading into the waiting harbor, Hawke pulled Sebastian Vael, prince of Starkhaven, into a long, deep, blissfully perfect kiss—the kind of which even Varric, bless his romantic soul, would have heartily approved.

THE CHESHIRE’S GRIN

“Well,” Hera purred, voice dropping a teasing register; Josie actually shivered. “Good thing I’m so damn convincing then, hmm?”

Cole pawed at her ankle again and Josie’s smile melted into a welcoming grim. “Yes,” she said. “I think it is maybe a very good thing.”

In the distance, the sky was fading a bruised violet as the sun rose on the final day of the Inquisition’s grand ball. “You know,” Elayne said, voice quiet, amusement wending through each word, “Sera is going to be so bloody proud.”

FATHER FIGURE

And, well. Perhaps he wasn’t so tired after all. Varric reached around to cup the full curve of Hawke’s ass, pulling her over him with a wide, wicked grin. “Oh,” he murmured, dragging his teeth along her jaw. “Aye aye, captain.”

RED RIGHT HAND

He smiled up into the kiss—and gave himself over to this beast of a man who had claimed him. Thank Andraste, Anders thought, twining his arms around Hawke’s neck. He couldn’t imagine ever wanting it any other way.

THE MAN COMES AROUND

“I’m going to make you beg for my cock, sweetheart,” Hawke promised him, the weight of an oath in his voice. “And by the time I give it to you, you’ll be so broken down you won’t remember what it’s like not to want me.”

Anders shuddered and drew in a ragged breath, turning his head to look at Hawke. Shafts of light played over scarred, harsh, handsome features. Lyrium-blue eyes blazed around the black dilation of his pupils. Slowly, Anders lifted a shaking hand to cup his lover’s jaw.

“I’m already there,” he said.
