My beaded creations
Have I ever told you about my handcrafted beaded jewelry collection?
Don’t answer that, I know I haven’t.
Well, I’ve been making bracelets, necklaces, rings, and other stuff for years now, most of them inspired by things (such as games or movies) that I like, so I thought it would be nice to finally share and talk about my creations :)
Part 1: Seed beads
One of the first video game series I fell in love with, back when I was 14-15, was The Legend of Zelda. Of course, I had to make Zelda jewelry!
Hyrule Crest bracelet, made with gold and clear beads.
In 2011, I played Skyward Sword and became… a little obsessed with Ghirahim :’)
A bracelet inspired by Ghirahim’s final form, and another with his name (and a reference to his white outfit).
Rings inspired by Ghirahim’s final form (top) and cloak (bottom).
2011-2012 was also the time I fell in love with two pieces of media that are still very dear to my heart and that, in a way, almost changed my life: the movie Sucker Punch and the video game Far Cry 3. They inspired many creations.
BABYDOLL and VAAS sets of rings, made with seed and alphabet beads.
By the way, I made a lot of stuff using alphabet beads, but that will be in Part 2.
Bracelet with Babydoll’s “full” name, M.REEAS, and two orbitoclasts.
BABY and DOLL rings.
A VAAS ring.
Bracelet inspired by Far Cry 3 with the word INSANITY written in symmetry, in turquoise blue and iridescent grey.
In 2013, I played Tomb Raider, the first game of the “Reborn Trilogy”. Years later, I also played (and enjoyed) its two sequels.
Bracelet inspired by Lara Croft’s journey, with the words I SURVIVED and an arrow.
In 2013 and 2014, I discovered two other video game franchises I still love today: Hitman and BioShock. The first titles I played at the time were Hitman: Absolution and BioShock Infinite.
Two rings, one inspired by Agent 47’s iconic suit, and the other by the AD scar on Booker DeWitt’s hand.
A recreation of Elizabeth’s medallions: the cage and the bird.
Later in 2014, I played the rest of the BioShock series.
Bracelets inspired by the tattoos on Jack Ryan’s wrists, made with clear and black beads.
In 2015, I was introduced to the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII and specifically to Advent Children. I’ve never played the games but, to understand the movie, I watched all the Crisis Core cutscenes and read extensively about the story of FFVII and even Before Crisis. Many tears were shed for Zack and Aerith in the process.
Three rings inspired by the Remnants of Sephiroth, Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo. The letters K, L, and Y are blue because of their eyes and the lifestream. The fourth ring simply has the letter S in clear silver beads surrounded in black for Sephiroth.
Rings for Zack and Aerith. The blue and silver ones were originally pink and blue but accidentally ended up in the washing machine. A “happy” accident, after all, because they look nice too and, considering what their story is, the absence of color creates a new symbolic meaning!
In 2018, Far Cry 5 came out, but I only created these recently:
Top: a ring with three J for the Seed brothers, John (blue), Joseph (yellow), and Jacob (red). On the other side, an attempt at the Eden’s Gate cross.
Bottom: a ring for Faith Seed, and what is supposed to be flowers on the other side (Bliss flower in the center and two pink ones like the ones on her dress). The letter F is green on a clear background, but if you look closely, you may notice three iridescent clear beads too. Combined with the F shape, they form the letter R, for Rachel.
This year, I also made sword bracelets inspired by The Legend of Zelda, Sucker Punch, and Mulan (1998):
The Master Sword, Babydoll’s katana, and Mulan’s sword.
And these are from a while ago, but here are game controllers. The Wiimote + Nunchuk can’t really be worn as jewelry; I just felt like making that.
To be continued in Part 2 :)

Collapse (Far Cry 6 DLC) | Revelation "Graven Image" feat. Faith | Scenery appreciation (vol. 14-?)
/ I compiled all audios of Faith during the Revelation in one for easier listening. Curious stuff for sure.
/ I absolutely enjoyed playing this mission from the dialogue through the gameplay to the scenery. The weather consistently changed as I was climbing the statue and the views were so damn gorgeous but also truly dangerous to admire because there's platforming.
/ I'm super glad I accidentally (on time) splurged Penance coins on the wingsuit/parachute because I doubt I would have survived the Leap of Faith knowing my luck with jumping from places. I'd take climbing & going down steep rocks anyday.

Hello! May I have a match up? I'm genderfluid (currently a demigirl), demiomnisexual, demiomniromantic, polyamorous, 5'9", mixed with white and black, a writer, vegetarian, anarchist, neurodivergent and really bad at introducing myself.
I pair you with…
Joseph and Faith Seed!
like you, these two have plenty of love to go around and fall in love with people for what’s on the inside, not the out.
faith loves to look at new vegetarian recipes with you while joseph tries and fails to cook them for you both.
joseph would ask to read your writings and might even ask for your help with his sermons, while faith is curled on the couch next to you both.
both of them being sensitive to neuro divergency as well, faith and joseph overtime become extremely attuned to your behaviors and can gather a decent idea of what kind of day you’re having and how to help.
joseph takes the social lead between the three of you, faith coming in close second. being the leader of the project and preaching about The Voice has done wonders for his social skills as an adult.
you and joseph tend to have long discussions about the sins of the government and how the people should have free will but joseph argues they need to be cleansed and taught the ways of the voice first.
you’re taller than faith but shorter than joseph, so you’re often the person of choice for the middle of a cuddle sandwich!
joseph and faith let you borrow clothes form their respective closets depending on your gender and how you identify. they love seeing you in their outfits.
i hope you enjoyed this one! the masterlist is here !

I'd love to ask about '03 Rachel/Faith notes, backstory, past Faiths, Bliss Mechanics, Tracey, etc' and 'Redshift Collision', if that's okay! 👀
Oo, fun choices! :D Thank you for asking!! ♥ Putting it below the cut, also trigger warnings for mentions of child abuse, drug use, dark backstories, in line with or inspired by Far Cry 5 canonical content. Trigger warnings for Redshift Collision include mentioned fantasy religious content, topic of euthanasia mentioned, magical diseases, etc. Long post is long, I hope the read is enjoyable though!! :0
————— 03 Rachel/Faith notes, backstory, past Faiths, Bliss Mechanics, Tracey, etc ————— So this folder breaks down into a dozen docs with split up notes, we’ll touch briefly on a bit from most of if not all of them, but the list is as follows:
01 Faith Character Notes, NPC Followers
02 Rachel Jessop’s Backstory for ACABH
03 Deaths of the Former Faiths Prior to Rachel, Some Bliss Mechanics
04 Tracey Lader Backstory Notes for ACABH
05 Types of Bliss Drug
06 Bliss Dart Mechanic Notes
07 Faith NPC compilation links
08 Overarching Bliss Realm Mechanics
09 Priestess pictures for Athalia - refs, tattoos, etc
10 Jacob’s Men talking about Bliss Shipment Amounts for Various REgions, Bliss Barrel capacity
11 Faith’s character arc, [Redacted for spoilers] - Major Plot Developments for All Main Characters
12 Angels versus Lost Souls
So, fun tidbits from these various docs! Some are implicitly dark because Faith is a Seed and Seeds don’t get to have happy, fun backgrounds in cult-centric AUs like ACABH, poor souls. The first Angel that Faith ever made, and the first ever Angel of the Project, was a woman named Abigail. It was an accident. Researched the first and last (and alternate) names for both Rachel Jessop, Faith, and Tracey Lader. Fun stuff honestly, Tracey’s is very fitting in that one definition of the name is taken from the Irish word "treasach" meaning "war-like" or "fighter." Lader is from Old English and Middle English words meaning to load; draw up (water specifically.) Rachel is as far as biblical names go, the name of the favorite wife of Jacob, and means “ewe” as in a female sheep. Fitting in a metaphorical sacrificial lamb way, if one chooses to look at it like that, among other sheep-like metaphors such as following the herd, etc. Rachel’s father was a doctor who researched the biochemistry of various plant based compounds that he extracted from specimens he grew at home in controlled conditions. Her mother ran a florist shop and delivery chain, and grew orchids in the green house as a past time. Rachel was passionate about the sciences when she was young, but neither parent looked upon this favorably for various (toxic and abusive) reasons, leading Rachel to become far more withdrawn and reclusive about her passions and activities—in as much as she could manage, beneath her parents’ ironclad rule. Rachel in the present day still is passionate about biology (specifically botany) and biochemistry, but keeps that to herself unless she really happens to trust the other person. There was a brief time when she was a more rebellious and spirited young girl—but her parents quickly stamped that out through any means necessary, including force. It is a major reason as to why Rachel is so conflict avoidant: she remembers how badly it can go, how quickly it can escalate, and she is so very aware of the inherent fragility of both life and limb. There are quite a few conflicting points-of-view regarding the deaths of Rachel’s predecessors, and a great deal of misinformation. Rachel believes that the Seeds aren’t being entirely forthcoming with her about how their own abilities work and the limits of said abilities, and that there’s a lot of secrets not being told regarding the details of how the two former Faiths died. Selena was the first Faith, chosen while the Project was still in its infancy, long before they had made it to Hope County, and Joseph was so sure she’d be the prophesied fourth Herald to help shepherd the faithful through the Collapse. Lana was the second, stepping up to fill the role when Selena died—but Lana died two months later, with both Faiths’ deaths serving as markers of the dangers of the then proto-Bliss-realm. Rachel had been at the Project for half a year at that point, and was the one who took up the mantle of Faith and has served ever since for the past seven years. She was eighteen when she took up the name Faith, but despite her young age had marked accomplishments to her name that had put her forward as a candidate, namely her works with the geneticist Peter on developing the first strains of the drug that would later come to be called the Bliss. This lead to huge leaps and bounds of development with regards to the psychic network that would become the Bliss Realm, and without Rachel’s work, it would be safe to say the Bliss both in drug and psychic plane form, would likely not exist. Jessop as a name is potentially from a root name of Joseph in the form of Yosef, meaning “may God increase, or add (another son)” which ties into Rachel’s family’s thwarted desire for a son rather than a daughter very well in this AU. Thematically, Rachel does arguably share ideology from both Jacob and Joseph, so in a way that is also extremely apropos for her. Ah, Tracey. She did not come from a happy home life either—but that doesn’t surprise anyone in the slightest I think. Her father left her mother the moment he found out she was pregnant, and that’s all Tracey knows and wants to know of him. Her mother worked hard to support them but was absent most of the time, leaving Tracey with relatives to keep an eye on her. Said relatives were very shitty in their treatment of her, leading to a whole host of problems for Tracey to deal with growing up, ranging from neglect to verbal and emotional abuse. This is a cluster of reasons among others that lead to Tracey learning to look out for herself—and to stick up for those who couldn’t look after themselves. She and Rachel met in high school, and they were each other’s first real meaningful friend. It was when they were together that they first thought of the possibility of a better life than all the horror and terribleness they had to live through so far in their very young lives. They were so sure they’d be friends forever...until they weren’t. As of writing this, there are currently six major strains of the drug bliss in ACABH, including Regular Bliss, Sleeper’s Bliss, The Chosen’s Sacrement, The Angels’ Bliss, Cleanser Bliss, and Red Bliss. Variant strains within those major categories also exist as it’s an on-going series of projects for Faith and her followers, with varying levels of involvement from other Heralds, regions, etc. Red Bliss is specific to Jacob’s region and is used in both the Judgification process and the Trials. The others are all largely self explanatory for the most part, or explained or will be explained in the fic. Bliss darts! These are what John’s hunters use, same substrain of Sleeper Bliss that Jacob’s hunters and Faith’s followers use in the form of Bliss arrows and Bliss grenades (think like smoke grenades) to capture non-Project-members too, alongside their attempts to capture the Deputy. Joshua still has a nice stash of them at this point, so the whole family’s in on this. Commonly used even in the Project’s rank and file to subdue kidnapped targets. People can die permanently if they suffer sufficient psychic injury or psychic death in the Bliss in general, but that’s not a guarantee. If some form of psychic death is induced while the person is in the Bliss, it’s possible with immediate medical response to potentially resuscitate said person. Some people can “die” in the Bliss without problem though, aside from likely waking up in a panic as if from a very stressful nightmare. Most people can’t without being connected to the private Bliss network in Jacob’s region—Jacob’s is specifically split off from the rest of the Bliss Realm through the exclusive use of Red Bliss, though Faith and her priestesses could in theory cross over and connect to Jacob’s network, they generally do not. It is easier for Jacob’s people to cross over to the main Bliss network than it is for other rank and file or even Chosen that belong to other Heralds to enter the Red Bliss network if they are not induced into it through drug use. The Heralds have a much easier time of it, but it’s still difficult—Faith and Joseph have abilities that allow easier passage for it among other things, whereas John would struggle more with it sans other additional factors to help said effort along. Athalia was originally one of John’s people before she transferred to help support the previous Faiths, and Rachel retained her as Head Priestess from early on, striking up something like a friendship over time. Some of Athalia’s loyalties may still lie with her old Herald though moreso than her chosen Herald, certainly some of her outlook mirrors John’s dogma moreso than Faith’s, though Athalia keeps that underwraps more often than not. They have a SHIT TON of bliss being shipped around to the different regions. They have to have one hell of an industry for making the stuff to keep up with that scale, depending on what the chemical makeup and ratios are. The doc regarding the plotting of Faith’s arc is all spoilers, so we’re skipping any mention of it here. Angels are different from what the Project calls Lost Souls due to the fact that Angels aren’t 100% disconnected from their bodies and lost in the Bliss Realm, they’re still distantly connected to their corporeal forms in reality, just busy enjoying the Bliss high trip and for the most part uninterested in returning to the real world...for the most part. A minor part of the job for Faith’s people is to ensure that the Angels don’t wander too far in the Bliss realm, or else they’ll become Lost Souls and if gone too far for too long (average length of time spent too far required to become a Lost Soul is a little over a week), this separation can induce major multiple organ failure, including cardiac arrest. It is possible to revive a Lost Soul, much like with reviving someone who died a Bliss-plane death, but it requires that the person’s soul in the Bliss Realm be found and brought back immediately, to sustain the body without extensive external life support systems. Even then, brain death has been known to happen. What counts as “too far” varies from person to person, but the general rule of thumb is within shouting distance—namely, having the Angel’s psychic form in the Bliss Realm’s counterpart of the real world being within shouting distance of where the Angel’s physical body is in the waking world. Brief bouts of separation have not been noted to cause harm to Angels, so it’s fairly lax as duties go to shepherd their souls about and is often tasked to lower ranking Priestesses on the day to day basis. ————— Redshift Collision ————— Redshift Collision is a fun idea that spawned from a crossover fanfic idea I was considering a while ago before letting it evolve into its own original fantasy setting with sci-fi elements instead. It centers on a character named Edgar Loom, short for Loomis, which is his family name. A bit of cultural trivia about the name: The reason he’s called Loom instead of Loomis is because only the heads of a house may use the full family name, everyone else is introduced with a derivative surname. As Loom is next in line to be the head of their household, he is typically the one people refer to when using the name “Loom”, though casual use of the derivative name happens for applicable family members here and there as the situation calls for. First names are typically a much more private affair, and people typically have “use” names that they give when introducing themselves to others including but not limited to prospective business partners, strangers, distant family members, etc. Telling someone your given first name is seen as a huge sign of trust, the equivalent of saying that the other person is part of your inner circle. It is generally expected that first names not be given out prior to knowing someone for a socially acceptable amount of time (length of time not given because I’m not done working out the calendar yet.) Typically, the head(s) of house can use just the family name as their use name if desired, or if there are multiple heads of house then their own use name can be used either as a stand alone or combined with the famiy name. In Loom’s case, since he’s next in line, his use name is typically Loom by default, thus why he’s called that in the ensuing paragraphs. Loom is the only child of his parents, much beloved and happy with his lot in life, having spent his time apprenticed in order to learn how to take up his father and mother’s trade, namely overlooking the production of luxury textiles in the guild of weavers (you can imagine where their ancestors got the surname Loomis from.) Tragedy however has befallen their world in the last two decades, an unknown cataclysmic event has shorn the very fabric of reality in such alien angles, even the gods are left scrambling as they try to figure out what has happened—and what is happening. Despite the new dangers and unforeseen changes that continue to twist the fabric of their world however, life goes on. People still survive, and flourish, adapting as they can to the strangeness that has taken root upon their planet. However, one of the new shifts brought about in their world includes new diseases—plagues. One such disease is called Wraith Fade, so named for what a person becomes as the disease progresses, and how. It is unknown how Wraith Fade is transmitted, but it is widely suspected to be magical in some form, due to lack of evidence for it being transmitted through the more common corporeal means. Loom contracts Wraith Fade, and he and his family all know that it’s a death sentence—sufferers of Wraith Fade are typically observed to have a year or for the more robust two before succumbing to the disease. Typically, the course of treatment is for the afflicted persons to make good of their last days, and then to call for a doctor to help with euthanasia—most countries if not all sponsor covering costs for this procedure to varying degrees, due to the dangers that wraiths pose if left unchecked. And wraiths are very dangerous, and very hard to kill. One of the early to mid stage symptoms is what appears to be a magically-induced loss of voice—both medical professionals and thaumaturgical researchers are at a loss for the mechanics of it, as studies do not register readings of magical structures either natural or artificial that would induce a silence effect. Various treatments have been attempted, but no direct results have been observed thus far in the trials. Another symptom is what has been referred to as “greying”—specifically, a gradual fading into total translucency and loss of most forms of color in the afflicted person’s physical appearance. The silencing and greying that sufferers of Wraith Fade endure eventually comes to encompass most if not all sounds that they make towards the end of the disease’s incubation period, and coupled with the greying effect this translates into a near silent and visually obscured entity when the person loses themselves fully to wraithood. Older wraiths have been observed as occasionally being able to silence entire areas seemingly at will for brief periods of time, and some of the more markedly dangerous individual wraiths have even learned to disappear from sight completely in what appears to be true invisibility. Their hardiness and resistance to what would constitute mortal injury to many living beings also seems to be supernatural in origin, though it is yet one more area that eludes researchers and experts to a vexing degree. What makes wraiths so dangerous however is their penchant for hunting in sporadic and irregular patterns, and the predominant pattern of many wraiths taking to heavily populated areas as a preference. Why they hunt people is a mystery, as sufferers of Wraith Fade are noted as slowly losing sensations of hunger and thirst, and late stage sufferers going without either food or drink without succumbing to starvation or thirst beyond noted secondary effects. The individual modus operandi of a given wraith develops over time, to terrifying results. It is not unusual or imprudent for the public to break into mass hysteria should a murder occur in a city, with people fearing that a new wraith has taken up residence. It is for this reason that sufferers of Wraith Fade are at times persecuted and sometimes killed on sight by unruly mobs, so-called vigilantes, and at times even government-sanctioned organizations in some countries. It is dangerous to travel for both the afflicted and for others, should the afflicted’s health take a turn for the worse and their condition deteriorates faster into wraithood. There is no known cure for Wraith’s Fade—but there are rumors of one, in the strange and distant city-state of Wyrrawyr. Loom is however a soul defined by hope, in that moment of definition. He chooses to try and seek out this rumored cure, and he and his family and friends have a tearful goodbye, knowing this full well could be the last time they see each other in this life. Wyrrawyr is a strange place. It is the city of stained glass, the gateway to the Snowfeld Sea, the broken circle which once sat as the crown jewel of the mighty Hederan Empire, the land of a thousand sieges—and a land of the old ways. Wyrrawyr has been conquered many times, but no conqueror has ever met with good fortune when trying to rule that place. Ill fortune plagues any power that tries to rule that city for long, and Wyrrawyr has garnered a reputation as a place to avoid...not that everyone listens to such tales. It is known as a cursed place to many, but those brave souls who dare to call it home say otherwise. The local gods of Wyrrawyr in particular are strange in their antics when seen through the eyes of the more northern countries, but not so strange as the people—some of whom say the city itself is a divine being in its own right. It is for that reason first and foremost that the Northern Alliance calls it the city of heretics, proud and unyielding in their strange ways. But age-old feuds are reduced to mere distractions as the entire world shudders as the shifts seemingly grow more aggressive where once they were placid. The landscape of their home world seems to shift more drastically in a short span of time than ever it has before, and many are driven to terror at the thought that reality may be collapsing into an unrecognizable form of chaos as they watch the mechanics of their world come apart at the seams. Loom arrives to a sundered Wyrrawyr, as parted and torn with unknown magical phenomena as if a slip-strike earthquake had cracked the earth’s crust open. It is in a sundered Wyrrawyr that Loom meets Death. Specifically, the local Wyrrawyran incarnation of Death, who offers Loom a deal: stand as Death’s champion and agent to investigate the phenomenons, and to enact Death’s will in restoring a form of natural order back to their world—among Loom’s tasks should he accept is to find those souls spirited away by forces unknown. Gods unknown, perhaps, is Death’s suspicion. In exchange for Loom’s services, Death offers him an out that will spare him from dying from Wraith Fade—and this is the only way to avoid that fate and all the sinister after effects that come with it. But both their deal and the “cure,”—in so much as it can be called that—requires Loom to leave their home world, never to return again. Loom must go where Death cannot: into the new world that is slowly colliding with their own, the two ripping each other apart like the collision of galaxies into a new, singular galaxy. A world where magic is a foreign idea, and technology is the watchword of nearly all who live there. A world that is out of place. This collision shouldn’t have happened. These two worlds were not on a collision course—far from it, they had been moving away from each other in their shared planes of existence. That is why the gods of Loom’s world have taken to calling the matter the Redshift Collision. It is the possibility of survival and a world full of the unknown that Death offers, should Loom agree—or, as a mercy, the option of a swift, safe, and painless passing into death and the afterlife, if Loom would prefer to die in his home world while he is still himself. Loom accepts. And that’s the starting point for Redshift Collision’s story!

Saints&Reading: Fri, August 28, 2020
Commemorated on August 15_ Old Julian Calendar
The "Falling-Asleep" or "Repose" ("Dormition", "Uspenie", "Koimesis") of our MostHoly Lady Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary
The "Falling-Asleep" or "Repose" ("Dormition", "Uspenie", "Koimesis") of our MostHoly Lady Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary: After the Ascension of the Lord, the Mother of God remained in the care of the Apostle John the Theologian, and during his journeyings She lived at the home of his parents, near Mount Eleon (the Mount of Olives, or Mount Olivet). She was a source of consolation and edification for both the Apostles and for all the believers. Conversing with them, She told them about miraculous happenings: the Annuniciation (Blagoveschenie), the Conception (Zachatie) without seed and without defilement of Christ born of Her, about His early childhood, and about all His earthly life. And just like the Apostles, She helped plant and strengthen the Christian Church by Her presence, Her discourse and Her prayers. The reverence of the Apostles for the MostHoly Virgin was extraordinary. After the receiving of the Holy Spirit on the remarkable day of Pentecost, the Apostles remained basically at Jerusalem for about 10 years attending to the salvation of the Jews, and wanting moreover to see the Mother of God and hear Her holy discourse. Many of the newly-enlightened in the faith even came from faraway lands to Jerusalem, to see and to hear the All-Pure Mother of God. During the time of the persecution, initiated by king Herod against the young Church of Christ (Acts 12: 1-3), the MostHoly Virgin together with the Apostle John the Theologian withdrew in the year 43 to Ephesus. The preaching of the Gospel there had fallen by lot to the Apostle John the Theologian. The Mother of God was likewise on Cyprus with Saint Lazarus the Four-Days-Entombed, where he was bishop. She was also on Holy Mount Athos, about which, as says Saint Stephen Svyatogorets (i.e. Saint Stephen of the "Holy Mount"), the Mother of God prophetically spoke: "This place shalt be allotted Me, given unto Me by My Son and My God. I wilt be the Patroness for this place and Intercessor to God for it". The respect of ancient Christians for the Mother of God was so great, that they preserved what they could about Her life, what they could take note of concerning Her sayings and deeds, and they even passed down to us the regards of Her outward appearance. According to tradition, based on the words of the PriestMartyrs Dionysios the Areopagite (+ 3 October 96), Ignatios the God-Bearer (+ 20 December 107), – Sainted Ambrose of Mediolanum-Milan (Comm. 7 December) had occasion to write in his work "On Virgins" concerning the Mother of God: "She was the Virgin not only of body, but also of soul, humble of heart, circumspect in word, wise in mind, not overly given to speaking, a lover of reading and of work, and prudent in speech. Her rule of life was – offend no one, intend well for everyone, respect the aged, be not envious of others, avoid bragging, be healthy of mind, and love virtue. When did She ever in the least hurl an insult in the face of Her parents, when was She at discord with Her kin? When did She ever puff up haughtily before a modest person, or laugh at the weak, or shun the destitute? With Her there was nothing of glaring eyes, nothing of unseemly words, nor of improper conduct: She was modest of body-movement, Her step was quiet, and Her voice straightforward; – such that Her bodily visage was an expression of soul, and personification of purity. All Her days She was concerned with fasting: She slept only when necessary, and even then, when Her body was at rest, She was still alert in spirit, repeating in Her dreams what She had read, or the pondered implementation of proposed intentions, or those planned yet anew. She was out of Her house only for church, and then only in the company of kin. Otherwise, She but little appeared outside Her house in the company of others, and She was Her own best overseer; others could protect Her only in body, but She Herself guarded Her character". [trans. note: In context, we must realise that Saint Ambrose wrote this discourse in exhortation to young women to conduct themselves maturely and with concern for the reputation of their good-name, an exhortation equally incumbent upon young men]. According to tradition, that from the compiler of Church history Nicephoros Kallistos (XIV Century), the Mother of God "was of average stature, or as others suggest, slightly more than average; Her hair golden in appearance; Her eyes bright with pupils like shiny olives; Her eyebrows strong in character and moderately dark, Her nose pronounced and Her mouth vibrant bespeaking sweet speech; Her face was neither round nor angular, but somewhat oblong; the palm of Her Hands and fingers were longish... In conversation with others She preserved decorum, neither becoming silly nor agitated, and indeed especially never angry; without artifice, and direct, She was not overly concerned about Herself, and far from any pampering of Herself, She was distinctly full of humility. Regarding the clothing which She wore, She was satisfied to have natural colours, which even now is evidenced by Her holy head-covering. Suffice it to say, an especial grace attended all Her actions". (Nicephoros Kallistos borrowed his description from Sainted Epiphanios of Cyprus, + 12 May 403, from the "Letter to Theophilos concerning icons". The circumstances of the Falling-Asleep or Dormition of the Mother of God were known in the Orthodox Church from times apostolic. Already in the I Century, the PriestMartyr Dionysios the Areopagite wrote about Her "Falling-Asleep". In the II Century, the account about the bodily Assumption of the MostHoly Virgin Mary to Heaven is found in the works of Meliton, Bishop of Sardis. In the IV Century, Saint Epiphanios of Cyprus refers to the tradition about the "Falling-Asleep" of the Mother of God. In the V Century Sainted Juvenal, Patriarch of Jerusalem, told the holy Byzantine empress Pulcheria: "Although in Holy Scripture there be no account about the circumstances of Her end, we know about them otherwise from the most ancient and credible tradition". This tradition in detail was gathered and expounded in the Church history of Nicephoros Kallistos during the XIV Century. At the time of Her blessed "Falling-Asleep", the MostHoly Virgin Mary was again at Jerusalem. Her fame as the Mother of God had already spread throughout the land and had aroused against Her many of the envious and the spiteful, who wanted to make attempts on Her life; but God preserved Her from enemies. Day and night She spent at prayer. The MostHoly Mother of God went often to the Holy Sepulchre of the Lord, and here She offered up incense and the bending of knees. More than once enemies of the Saviour sought to hinder Her from visiting her holy place, and they besought of the high-priest a guard to watch over the Grave of the Lord. But the Holy Virgin Mary, unseen by anyone, continued to pray in front of them. In one suchlike visit to Golgotha, the Archangel Gabriel appeared before Her and announced Her approaching transfer from this life into the Heavenly life of eternal beatitude. In pledge of this, the Archangel entrusted Her a palm branch. With these Heavenly tidings the Mother of God returned to Bethlehem with the three girls attending Her (Sepphora, Evigea and Zoila). She thereupon summoned Righteous Joseph of Aramathea and other disciples of the Lord, and told them of Her impending Repose (Uspenie). The MostHoly Virgin prayed also, that the Lord would have the Apostle John come to Her. And the Holy Spirit transported him from Ephesus, setting him alongside that very place, where lay the Mother of God. After the prayer, the MostHoly Virgin offered up incense, and John heard a voice from Heaven, closing Her prayer with the word "Amen". The Mother of God took notice, that this voice meant the speedy arrival of the Apostles and the Disciples and the holy Bodiless Powers. The Disciples, whose number then it was impossible to count, flocked together, – says Saint John Damascene, – like clouds and eagles, to hearken to the Mother of God. Seeing one another, the Disciples rejoiced, but in their confusion they asked each other, why had the Lord gathered them together in one place? Saint John the Theologian, greeting them with tears of joy, said that for the Mother of God had begun the time of repose unto the Lord. Going in to the Mother of God, they beheld Her augustly lying upon the cot, and filled with spiritual happiness. The Disciples gave greeting to Her, and then they told about their being miraculously transported from their places of preaching. The MostHoly Virgin Mary glorified God, in that He had hearkened to Her prayer and fulfilled Her heart's desire, and She began speaking about Her immanent end. During the time of this conversation the Apostle Paul likewise appeared in miraculous manner together with his disciples: Dionysios the Areopagite, wondrous Hierotheos, and Timothy and others from amongst the Seventy Disciples. The Holy Spirit had gathered them all together, so that they might be vouchsafed the blessing of the All-Pure Virgin Mary, and all the more fittingly to see to the burial of the Mother of the Lord. Each of them She called to Herself by name, She blessed them and extolled them in their faith and hardships in the preaching of the Gospel of Christ, and to each She wished eternal bliss and prayed with them for the peace and welfare of all the world. There ensued the third hour, when the Uspenie-Repose of the Mother of God was to occur. A multitude of candles blazed. The holy Disciples with song encircled the felicitously adorned sick-bed, upon which lay the All-Pure Virgin Mother of God. She prayed in anticipation of Her demise and of the arrival of Her longed-for Son and Lord. Suddenly the inexpressible Light of Divine Glory shone forth, before which the blazing candles paled in comparison. All that saw took fright. Sitting atop as though immersed in the rays of the indescribable Light, was Christ the King of Glory Himself come down, surrounded by hosts of Angels and Archangels and other Heavenly Powers, together with the souls of the fore-fathers and the prophets, formerly having foretold of the MostHoly Virgin Mary. Seeing Her Son, the Mother of God exclaimed: "My soul doth magnify My Lord, and My spirit rejoiceth in God My Saviour, for He hath regarded the lowliness of His Handmaiden" – and, getting up from Her bed to meet the Lord, She bowed down to Him. And the Lord bid Her come enter the habitations of Life Eternal. Without any bodily suffering, as though in an happy sleep, the MostHoly Virgin Mary gave up Her soul into the hands of Her Son and God. Then began joyous Angelic song. Accompanying the pure soul of the God-betrothed and with reverent awe for the Queen of Heaven, the Angels exclaimed: "Hail Thou, Full-of-Grace, the Lord is with Thee, blessed art Thou amongst women! For lo, it be the Queen, God's Maiden doth come, take up the gates, and with the Ever-Existent take ye up the Mother of Light; for of Her is salvation come to all the human race. Upon Her tis impossible to gaze and to Her tis impossible to render due honour" (Stikherion verse on "Lord, I have cried"). The Heavenly gates were raised, and meeting the soul of the MostHoly Mother of God, the Cherubim and the Seraphim with joy glorified Her. The graced face of the Mother of God was radiant with the glory of Divine virginity, and of Her body there exuded fragrance. Miraculous was the life of the All-Pure Virgin, and wondrous was Her Repose, as Holy Church doth sing: "In Thee, O Queen, the God of all hath wrought a miracle, that transcendeth the laws of nature. Just as in the Birth-Giving He did preserve Thine virginity, so also in the grave He did preserve Thy body from decay" (Kanon 1, Ode 6, Tropar 1). Giving kiss to the all-pure body with reverence and in awe, the Disciples in turn were blessed by it and filled with grace and spiritual joy. Through the great glorification of the MostHoly Mother of God, the almighty power of God healed the sick, who with faith and love gave touch to the holy cot. Bewailing their separation on earth from the Mother of God, the Apostles set about the burying of Her all-pure body. The holy Apostles Peter, Paul, James and others of the 12 Apostles carried the funeral bier upon their shoulders, and upon it lay the body of the ever-Virgin Mary. Saint John the Theologian went at the head with the resplendent palm-branch from Paradise, and the other saints and a multitude of the faithful accompanied the funeral bier with candles and censers, singing sacred song. This solemn procession went from the Sion-quarter through all Jerusalem to the Garden of Gethsemane. With the start of the procession there suddenly appeared over the all-pure body of the Mother of God and all those accompanying Her a vast and resplendent circular cloud, like a crown, and to the choir of the Apostles was conjoined the choir of the Angels. There was heard the singing of the Heavenly Powers, glorifying the Mother of God, which echoed that of the worldly voices. This circle of Heavenly singers and radiance moved through the air and accompanied the procession to the very place of burial. Unbelieving inhabitants of Jerusalem, taken aback by the extraordinarily grand funeral procession and vexed at the honours accorded the Mother of Jesus, denounced this to the high-priests and scribes. Burning with envy and vengefulness towards everything that reminded them of Christ, they sent out their own servants to disrupt the procession and to set afire the body of the Mother of God. An angry crowd and soldiers set off against the Christians, but the aethereal crown, accompanying the procession in the air, lowered itself to the ground and like a wall fenced it off. The pursuers heard the footsteps and the singing, but could not see any of those accompanying the procession. And indeed many of them were struck blind. The Jewish priest Aphthoniah out of spite and hatred for the Mother of Jesus of Nazareth wanted to topple the funeral bier, on which lay the body of the MostHoly Virgin Mary, but an Angel of God invisibly cut off his hands, which had touched the bier. Seeing such a wonder, Aphthoniah repented and with faith confessed the majesty of the Mother of God. He received healing and joined in with the crowd accompanying the body of the Mother of God, and he became a zealous follower of Christ. When the procession reached the Garden of Gethsemane, then amidst the weeping and the wailing began the last kiss to the all-pure body. Only towards evening time were the Apostles able to place it in the tomb and seal the entrance to the cave with a large stone. For three days they did not depart the place of burial, during this time making unceasing prayer and psalmody. Through the wise providence of God, the Apostle Thomas had been destined not to be present at the burial of the Mother of God. Arriving late on the third day at Gethsemane, he lay down at the sepulchral cave and with bitter tears bespeaking loudly his desire, that he might be vouchsafed a final blessing of the Mother of God and have final farewell with Her. The Apostles out of heartfelt pity for him decided to open the grave and permit him the comfort of venerating the holy remains of the Ever-Virgin Mary. But having opened the grave, they found in it only the grave wrappings and were thus convinced of the bodily ascent or assumption of the MostHoly Virgin Mary to Heaven. On the evening of the same day, when the Apostles had gathered at an house to strengthen themselves with food, the Mother of God Herself appeared to them and said: "Rejoice! I am with ye – throughout all the length of days". This so gladdened the Apostles and everyone with them, that they took a portion of the bread, set aside at the meal in memory of the Saviour ("the Portion of the Lord"), and they exclaimed also: "MostHoly Mother of God, help us". (This marks the beginning of the rite of offering up a "Panagia" ("All-Blessed") – the custom of offering up at meals a portion of bread in honour of the Mother of God, which even at present is done at monasteries). The sash of the Mother of God, and Her holy garb, – preserved with reverence and distributed over the face of the earth in pieces – both in past and in present has worked miracles. Her numerous icons everywhere issue forth with outpourings of signs and healings, and Her holy body – taken up to Heaven, witnesses to our own future mode of life therein. Her body was not left to the chance vicissitudes of the transitory world, but was all the more incomparably exalted by its glorious ascent to Heaven. The feast of the Repose-Uspenie of the MostHoly Mother of God is celebrated with especial solemnity at Gethsemane, at the place of Her burial. Nowhere else is there such sorrow of heart at the separation from the Mother of God and nowhere else such uplift, persuaded of Her intercession for the world. The holy city of Jerusalem is separated from the Mount of Olives (Olivet) by the valley of Kedron on Josaphat. At the foot of the Mount of Olives is situated the Garden of Gethsemane, where olive trees bear fruit even now. The holy Ancestor-of-God Joakim had himself reposed at 80 years of age, – some several years after the Entry ("Vvedenie vo Khram") of the MostHoly Virgin Mary into the Jerusalem Temple (Comm. 21 November). Saint Anna, having been left a widow, resettled from Nazareth to Jerusalem, and lived near the Temple. At Jerusalem she bought two pieces of property: the first at the gates of Gethsemane, and the second – in the valley of Josaphat. At the second locale she built a crypt for the repose of members of her family, and where also she herself was buried with Joakim. And it was there in the Garden of Gethsemane that the Saviour often prayed with His disciples. The most-pure body of the Mother of God was buried in the family cemetery-plot. With Her burial Christians also reverently honoured the sepulchre of the Mother of God, and they built on this spot a church. Within the church was preserved the precious funeral cloth, which wrapped Her all-pure and fragrant body. The holy Jerusalem Patriarch Juvenal (420-458) attested before the emperor Marcian (450-457) as to the authenticity of the tradition about the miraculous assumption of the Mother of God to Heaven, and he likewise sent to the empress, Saint Pulcheria (+ 453, Comm. 10 September), the grave wrappings of the Mother of God, which he had taken from Her grave. Saint Pulcheria then placed these grave-wrappings within the Blakhernae church. Accounts have been preserved, that at the end of the VII Century an overhead church had been situated atop the underground church of the Dormition-Repose of the MostHoly Mother of God, and that from its high bell-tower could be seen the dome of the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord. Traces of this church are no longer to be seen. And in the IX Century near the subterranean Gethsemane church was built a monastery, at which more than 30 monks asceticised. Great destruction was done the Church in the year 1009 by the despoiler of the holy places, Hakim. Radical changes, the traces of which remain at present, also transpired under the crusaders in the year 1130. During the XI-XII Centuries there disappeared from Jerusalem the piece of excavated stone, at which the Saviour had prayed on the night of His betrayal. This piece of stone from the VI Century had been situated within the Gethsemane basilica. But in spite of the destruction and the changes, the overall original cruciform (cross-shaped) plan of the church has been preserved. At the entrance to the church along the sides of the iron gates stand four marble columns. To enter the church, it is necessary to go down a stairway of 48 steps. At the 23rd step on the right side is a chapel in honour of the holy Ancestors-of-God Joakim and Anna together with their graves, and on the left side opposite – the chapel of Righteous Joseph the Betrothed with his grave. The rightside chapel belongs to the Orthodox Church, and the leftside – to the Armenian-Gregorian Church (since 1814). The church of the Repose of the Mother of God has the following dimensions: in length it is 48 arshin, and in breadth 8 arshin [1 arshin = 28 inches]. At an earlier time the church had also windows beside the doors. The whole temple was adorned with a multitude of lampadas and offerings. Two small entrances lead into the burial-chamber of the Mother of God: entrance is made through the western doors, and exit at the northern doors. The burial-chamber of the All-Pure Virgin Mary is veiled with precious curtains. The burial laying-place was hewn out of stone in the manner of the ancient Jewish grave and is very similar to the Sepulchre of the Lord. Beyond the burial-chamber is situated the altar of the church, in which daily is celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Greek language. The olive woods on the eastern and northern sides of the temple was acquired from the Turks by the Orthodox during the VII-VIII Centuries. The Catholics acquired the olive woods on the east and south sides in 1803, and the Armenian-Gregorians on the west side in 1821. On 12 August, at Little Gethsemane, at the 2nd hour of the night, the clergy-head of the Gethsemane church celebrates Divine Liturgy. With the close of Liturgy, at the 4th hour of the morning, the clergy-head in full vesture makes a short molieben before the resplendent plaschenitsa, lifts it in his hands and solemnly carries it beyond the church to Gethsemane proper where the holy sepulchre of the Mother of God is situated. All the members of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem, with the head of the Mission leading, participate each year in the procession with the holy plaschanitsa [of the Mother of God], called the "Litania". The rite of the Burial of the Mother of God at Gethsemane begins customarily on the morning of 14 August. A multitude of people with hierarchs and clergy at the head set off from the Jerusalem Patriarchate (nearby the Church of the Resurrection of Christ) in sorrowful procession. Along the narrow alley-ways of the Holy City the funeral procession makes its way to Gethsemane. Towards the front of the procession is carried an icon of the Dormition-Uspenie of the MostHoly Mother of God. Along the way pilgrims meet the icon, kissing the image of the All-Pure Virgin Mary and lift children of various ages to the icon. After the clergy, in two rows walk the black-robed – monks and nuns of the Holy City: Greeks, Roumanians, Arabs, Russians. The procession, going along for about two hours, concludes with a lamentations at the Gethsemane church. In front the altar‑table, beyond the burial chamber of the Mother of God, is set a raised-up spot, upon which amidst fragrant flowers and myrtle and with precious coverings rests the plaschanitsa of the MostHoly Mother of God. "O marvelous wonder! The Fount of Life is placed in the grave, and the grave doth become the ladder to Heaven...", – here at the grave of the All-Pure Virgin, these words strike deep with their original sense and grief is dispelled by joy: "Hail, Full-of-Grace, the Lord is with Thee, granting the world through Thee great mercy!" Numerous pilgrims, having kissed the icon of the Dormition-Uspenie of the MostHoly Mother of God, – following an ancient custom, then stoop down and go beneathe it. On the day of the Leave-taking of the feast (23 August), solemn procession is again made. On the return path, the holy plaschanitsa is carried by clergy headed by the Gethsemane archimandrite.
Luke 1:39-49, 56
39Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah,40and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.41And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.42Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!43But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?44For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.45Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.46And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord,47And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.48For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.49For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name.56And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.
Luke 10:38-42; 11:27-28
38Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.39And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.40But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me."41And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.42But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.
27And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!"28But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
Philippians 2:5-11
5Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,6who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,7but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

thanks so much to @octo-chan for posting the book of joseph! i wanted to compile the most interesting facts imo from it:
joseph, john and jacob seed are from rome, georgia
their father was an alcoholic who regularly beat them and, like the game says, jacob protected them all. their father eventually died in prison
their mother was pretty much absent emotionally
joseph heard “the voice of the creator” as young as seven and was always open about it
they were taken by social services after john’s teachers noticed his pattern of beatings; john was “fragile”
orphanage first, where joseph was evaluated for mental illness, and then the three boys were put with a couple who treated them as labourers. one day, jacob snapped and burned down the couple’s house
jacob was put into juvenile detention and joseph and john returned to the orphanage
john, as i had previously assumed myself, was adopted by a wealthy couple, because he was most attractive looking
joseph had many foster families but never anything permanent
as a man he was just a drifter, searching desperately for his brothers
he suffered depression in failing to find them at first
john seed’s adopted name is john duncan: he became a businessman, though his parents were religious zealots who punished him and made him confess sins like every night. he wore a facade until meeting joseph again
john went through addictions to sex and drugs
he was so prestigious that he was able to easily access information after that for joseph’s mission -- the start of eden’s gate
jacob suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. he spent time at a veteran hospital until his money dwindled
john did indeed acquire land legally with his fortune
faith came to eden’s gate and went cold turkey but they did let her have scopolamine. she works with a guy called peter to administer healthcare to cult members
jacob has at least 300 soldiers fully trained
the cult is communal in farmers and cooks and all that

Book Of Genesis - From The Latin Vulgate - Chapter 15
INTRODUCTION.
The Hebrews now entitle all the Five Books of Moses, from the initial words, which originally were written like one continued word or verse; but the Sept. have preferred to give the titles the most memorable occurrences of each work. On this occasion, the Creation of all things out of nothing, strikes us with peculiar force. We find a refutation of all the heathenish mythology, and of the world’s eternity, which Aristotle endeavoured to establish. We behold the short reign of innocence, and the origin of sin and misery, the dispersion of nations, and the providence of God watching over his chosen people, till the death of Joseph, about the year 2369 (Usher) 2399 (Sal. and Tirin) B.C. 1631. We shall witness the same care in the other Books of Scripture, and adore his wisdom and goodness in preserving to himself faithful witnesses, and a true Holy Catholic Church, in all ages, even when the greatest corruption seemed to overspread the land. H.
—————————-
This Book is so called from its treating of the Generation, that is, of the Creation and the beginning of the world. The Hebrews call it Bereshith, from the word with which it begins. It contains not only the History of the Creation of the World, but also an account of its progress during the space of 2369 years, that is, until the death of Joseph.

Chapter 15
God promiseth seed to Abram. His faith, sacrifice and vision.
[1] Now when these things were done, the word of the Lord came to Abram by a vision, saying: Fear not, Abram, I am thy protector, and thy reward exceeding great. His itaque transactis, factus est sermo Domini ad Abram per visionem dicens : Noli timere, Abram : ego protector tuus sum, et merces tua magna nimis.
[2] And Abram said: Lord God, what wilt thou give me? I shall go without children: and the son of the steward of my house is this Damascus Eliezer. Dixitque Abram : Domine Deus, quid dabis mihi? ego vadam absque liberis, et filius procuratoris domus meae iste Damascus Eliezer.
[3] And Abram added: But to me thou hast not given seed: and lo my servant, born in my house, shall be my heir. Addiditque Abram : Mihi autem non dedisti semen, et ecce vernaculus meus, haeres meus erit.
[4] And immediately the word of the Lord came to him, saying: He shall not be thy heir: but he that shall come out of thy bowels, him shalt thou have for thy heir. Statimque sermo Domini factus est ad eum, dicens : Non erit hic haeres tuus, sed qui egredietur de utero tuo, ipsum habebis haeredem.
[5] And he brought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be. Eduxitque eum foras, et ait illi : Suscipe caelum, et numera stellas, si potes. Et dixit ei : Sic erit semen tuum.
[6] Abram believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice. Credidit Abram Deo, et reputatum est illi ad justitiam.
[7] And he said to him: I am the Lord who brought thee out from Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land, and that thou mightest possess it. Dixitque ad eum : Ego Dominus qui eduxi te de Ur Chaldaeorum ut darem tibi terram istam, et possideres eam.
[8] But he said: Lord God, whereby may I know that I shall possess it? At ille ait : Domine Deus, unde scire possum quod possessurus sim eam?
[9] And the Lord answered, and said: Take me a cow of three years old, and a she goat of three years, and a ram of three years, a turtle also, and a pigeon. Et respondens Dominus : Sume, inquit, mihi vaccam trienem, et capram trimam, et arietem annorum trium, turturem quoque et columbam.
[10] And he took all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid the two pieces of each one against the other; but the birds he divided not. Qui tollens universa haec, divisit ea per medium, et utrasque partes contra se altrinsecus posuit; aves autem non divisit.
[11] And the fowls came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away. Descenderuntque volucres super cadavera, et abigebat eas Abram.
[12] And when the sun was setting, a deep sleep fell upon Abram, and a great and darksome horror seized upon him. Cumque sol occumberet, sopor irruit super Abram, et horror magnus et tenebrosus invasit eum.
[13] And it was said unto him: Know thou beforehand that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land not their own, and they shall bring them under bondage, and afflict them four hundred years. Dictumque est ad eum : Scito praenoscens quod peregrinum futurum sit semen tuum in terra non sua, et subjicient eos servituti, et affligent quadringentis annis.
[14] But I will judge the nation which they shall serve, and after this they shall come out with great substance. Verumtamen gentem, cui servituri sunt, ego judicabo : et post haec egredientur cum magna substantia.
[15] And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace, and be buried in a good old age. Tu autem ibis ad patres tuos in pace, sepultus in senectute bona.
[16] But in the fourth generation they shall return hither: for as yet the iniquities of the Amorrhites are not at the full until this present time. Generatione autem quarta revertentur huc : necdum enim completae sunt iniquitates Amorrhaeorum usque ad praesens tempus.
[17] And when the sun was set, there arose a dark mist, and there appeared a smoking furnace and a lamp of fire passing between those divisions. Cum ergo occubuisset sol, facta est caligo tenebrosa, et apparuit clibanus fumans, et lampas ignis transiens inter divisiones illas.
[18] That day God made a covenant with Abram, saying: To thy seed will I give this land, from the river of Egypt even to the great river Euphrates. In illo die pepigit Dominus foedus cum Abram, dicens : Semini tuo dabo terram hanc a fluvio Aegypti usque ad fluvium magnum Euphraten,
[19] The Cineans and Cenezites, the Cedmonites, Cinaeos, et Cenezaeos, Cedmonaeos,
[20] And the Hethites, and the Pherezites, the Raphaim also, et Hethaeos, et Pherezaeos, Raphaim quoque,
[21] And the Amorrhites, and the Chanaanites, and the Gergesites, and the Jebusites. et Amorrhaeos, et Chananaeos, et Gergesaeos, et Jebusaeos.
Commentary:
Ver. 1. Fear not. He might naturally be under some apprehensions, lest the four kings should attempt to be revenged upon him. --- Reward, since thou hast so generously despised earthly riches. H. --- Abram was not asleep, but saw a vision of exterior objects. v. 5.
Ver. 2. I shall go. To what purpose should I heap up riches, since I have no son to inherit them? Abram knew that God had promised him a numerous posterity; but he was not apprized how this was to be verified, and whether he was to adopt some other for his son and heir. Therefore, he asks modestly, how he out to understand the promise. --- And the son, &c. Heb. is differently rendered, "and the steward of my house, this Eliezer of Damascus." We know not whether Eliezer or Damascus be the proper name. The Sept. have "the son of Mesech, my handmaid, this Eliezer of Damascus." Most people suppose, that Damascus was the son of Eliezer, the steward. The sentence is left unfinished, and must be supplied from the following verse, shall be my heir. The son of the steward, filius procurationis, may mean the steward himself, as the son of perdition denotes the person lost. C.
Ver. 6. Reputed by God, who cannot judge wrong; so that Abram increased in justice by this act of faith, believing that his wife, now advanced in years, would have a child; from whom others should spring, more numerous than the stars of heaven. H. --- This faith was accompanied and followed by many other acts of virtue. S. Jam. ii. 22. W.
Ver. 8. Whereby, &c. Thus the blessed Virgin asked, how shall this be done? Lu. i. 34. without the smallest degree of unbelief. Abram wished to know, by what signs he should be declared the lawful owner of the land. H.
Ver. 9. Three years, when these animals have obtained a perfect age.
Ver. 12. A deep sleep, or ecstasy, like that of Adam. G. ii. 21, wherein God revealed to him the oppression of his posterity in Egypt, which filled him with such horror (M.) as we experience when something frightful comes upon us suddenly in the dark. This darkness represents the dismal situation of Joseph, confined in a dungeon; and of the Hebrews condemned to hard labour, in making bricks, and obliged to hide their male children, for fear of their being discovered, and slain. Before these unhappy days commenced, the posterity of Abram were exposed to great oppression among the Chanaanites, nor could they in any sense be said to possess the land of promise, for above 400 years after this prophetic sleep. H.
Ver. 13. Strangers, and under bondage, &c. This prediction may be dated from the persecution of Isaac by Ismael, A. 2112, till the Jews left Egypt, 2513. In Exodus xii. and S. Paul, 430 years are mentioned; but they probably began when Abram went first into Egypt, 2084. Nicholas Abram and Tournemine say, the Hebrews remained in Egypt full 430 years. from the captivity of Joseph; and reject the addition of the Sept. which adds, "they and their fathers dwelt in Egypt, and in Chanaan." On these points, we may expect to find chronologists at variance.
Ver. 14. Judge and punish the Egyptians, overwhelming them in the Red sea, &c. H.
Ver. 16. Fourth, &c. after the 400 years are finished; during which period of time, God was pleased to bear with those wicked nations; whose iniquity chiefly consisted in idolatry, oppression of the poor and strangers, forbidden marriages of kindred, and abominable lusts. Levit. xviii. Deut. vi. and xii. M.
Ver. 17. A lamp, or symbol of the Divinity, passing, as Abram also did, between the divided beasts, to ratify the covenant. See Jer. xxxiv. 18.
Ver. 18. Of Egypt, a branch of the Nile, not far from Pelusium. This was to be the southern limit, and the Euphrates the northern; the two other boundaries are given, Num. xxxiv. --- Perhaps Solomon's empire extended so far. At least, the Jews would have enjoyed these territories, if they had been faithful. M.
Ver. 19. Cineans, in Arabia, of which nation was Jethro. They were permitted to dwell in the tribe of Juda, and served the Hebrews. --- Cenezites, who probably inhabited the mountains of Juda. --- Cedmonites, or eastern people, as their name shews. Cadmus was of this nation, of the race of the Heveans, dwelling in the environs of mount Hermon, whence his wife was called Hermione. He was, perhaps, one of those who fled at the approach of Josue; and was said to have sowed dragons' teeth, to people his city of Thebes in Beotia, from an allusion to the name of the Hevites, which signifies serpents. C. --- The eleven nations here mentioned were not all subdued; on account of the sins of the Hebrews. M.

Hey there!
After reading your great insight on what to keep in mind when, say, writing the Seed brothers in fanfiction, I was wondering if you wanted to cap things off on what to keep in mind when writing Faith?
You don’t have to do it immediately, just when you have the time.
Hi! Sure, let’s conclude this “series” with the last member of the family, Faith Seed :)
First, while she’s referred to as a/the Siren by Dutch, a couple of NPCs, and in promotional material, this isn’t her official title in the Project. And as you probably know, Faith Seed’s real name is actually Rachel. However, unlike what the Far Cry Wiki claims, I’m quite certain her full name was never Rachel Jessop. Unfortunately, the biography on her Wiki page is partly made up and based on that incorrect assumption, so I really don’t recommend trusting it. This advice goes for all Far Cry characters, and I don’t think the Far Cry 6 Season Pass is a good reference, either, since the DLCs were written with the help of the Wiki.
In Far Cry 5, in addition to the story cutscenes, she has three sermons (here, here, and here), four answering machine messages (here, here, here, and here), and can also be randomly encountered in the Henbane River region as a “specter” (term used in the files). When she appears, she either hums the song “Oh The Bliss” (here and here) or talks to the Deputy. I think what she says really is worth listening to and adds a lot to her character. @teamhawkeye has done a tremendous job recording and compiling all her appearances in 9 videos (1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9)! As for Marshal Burke’s “apology video”, in which Faith also appears, it’s here.
I wrote a summary of what other characters say about her here (masterpost here), and all the NPCs’ comments about the Seed family are available here and here.
Faith isn’t in Far Cry Arcade and doesn’t have the same “combat lines” as most other characters, but you can still listen to everything she says during the final fight against her here.
Her deleted lines are here, and she has even more here. Most of them probably aren’t relevant anymore, but they’re still interesting and make me wonder what they originally had in mind for the character!
If I’m not mistaken, there’s only one note in Far Cry 5 written by Faith: the “Note for Tracey” (Hope County Jail). The note “A Confession” (Throne of Mercy Church) was also written by “Faith”, but it seems to me the author is one of Rachel’s predecessors.
Indeed, in-game evidence indicates Rachel wasn’t the first woman who took on the role of Faith Seed. There were at least two others before her, Lana and Selena, but we barely know anything about them or why they were replaced. Two letters, written by people who knew and loved them, can be found in the game in the Horned Serpent Cave and the King’s Hot Springs Hotel, but that’s pretty much it.
There was another note written by Faith, apparently cut from the game but still available in oasisstrings. It was supposed to be in her bunker, Faith’s Gate:
To my guardians, Because we have each other, we are already strong. But when the Collapse comes, this gate will need to be the heart of our strength. Guard it with your lives, knowing that any sacrifice you make will be for the future of humanity's greatest ideals and dreams. Jacob and Joseph have chosen you to guard this gate. You should be very proud. I know you serve me with love, but never forget that this will be your home, too. If you falter from this purpose, remember the bliss is there for you. With love, Faith
It’s worth noting that, in the game’s files, Faith (or the Henbane River) is sometimes referred to as “Selena Seed”. To me, this suggests that her identity and her backstory went through many changes during the development of Far Cry 5, and that might explain at least some of the grey areas surrounding the character.
Since she isn’t the Seed brothers’ biological sister and they weren’t raised together, The Book of Joseph doesn’t give a lot of information about her life before Eden’s Gate aside from what the game already tells us: she was a broken person, addicted to drugs, and was “adopted” by Joseph as his sister and Herald. When she joined the cult, since drugs are forbidden by the rules, she first had to overcome her addiction, and the book says she succeeded with the help of scopolamine (basically Bliss). It’s also explained she then worked with a geneticist named Peter, probably on developing Bliss. That said, in the game, he’s never mentioned, cultists never use the word “scopolamine” (always “Bliss”), and nothing clearly indicates it can be or has ever been used as a substitution treatment, so I’m not sure what’s still canonical...
Faith also appears in the short film Inside Eden’s Gate (not entirely canon to me but still good) where she’s played by Mackenzie “Kenz” Lawrén Johnson. I must admit Faith is my favorite Herald in the film; I really like Kenz Lawrén’s interpretation as well as her opinion on the character, which she gave in this interview!
Weirdly, Faith has often been referred to as the “half-sister” by the game’s main writers (such as here or here) even though she isn’t related to the Seed family in the game. It’s possible that she used to be but that was changed at some point. According to the Lead Writer, “Maybe she isn’t liked by the other two brothers as she didn’t grow up with them” (which is hinted at by NPCs and John himself in Far Cry 5). In a now-deleted interview for GameCrate, he also described her as “more of an outsider” and “probably the most fervent believer in Joseph”.
Greg Bryk, who co-created and played the Father, said he believed he needed Faith because “the maternal aspect of the feminine energy is missing” in his life even though it’s something “essential for Joseph to have”. He thinks there have been several Faiths because “when [Joseph] would lose faith, [he] would find another Faith.” And according to him, “she doesn’t need to have a specific energy because there’s something of an essence that [he needs] as opposed to a person”, and she almost has a “mother earth energy”.
While she does give a bit of information about her past life as Rachel in the game, saying she was “ostracized by her community”, “bullied by friends”, “abused by her family”, and “wanted to die”, it’s not always easy to know what’s true and what’s not when it comes to Faith because she’s known for being a master manipulator; lying is canonically part of her modus operandi. In a way, because Faith Seed is a role, I would say she’s also always performing. Unlike what a few NPCs claim, I don’t think that means she never tells the truth, but she’s still undoubtedly “very skilled at twisting the facts and turning any situation to her advantage”, as the game’s Narrative Director put it.
Although the details are unclear, I believe it’s true Rachel was “lost” and “broken” before she arrived in Hope County and joined the Project. It’s also true that, as Faith Seed, she’s now powerful, dangerous, and not innocent anymore, as her former best friend Tracey Lader, who knows her very well and witnessed her transformation (but was unable to stop it), warns the Deputy. I neither mean nor think the situation Faith is in is normal, healthy, or the best thing that could have happened to her, but I do think saying she’s unhappy with it, helpless, in danger, or that she only wishes she could run away from the cult really is a misunderstanding of the character. Faith knows what she’s doing, and she’s very good at doing it. To me, she’s the most powerful Herald.
Since the lore is a bit inconsistent, we’re not entirely sure how the Bliss works and who created it, but we know it’s an almost magical, hallucinogenic and pacifying drug made from “bliss flowers” (heavily inspired by Datura stramonium) that Faith is immune to, can control, and uses to brainwash people. “The Bliss” is also a place, but once again, the details are unclear. It could be her bunker, or maybe just a distorted version of reality that individuals who are exposed to the drug “live” in. Wherever or whatever it is, most people never truly come back from it or fully break free from Faith’s influence, as seen with the Marshal in the game…
In the Project, Faith’s role is to lure (hence the nickname “Siren”) people into the cult and convince them to follow the Father, often with the help of Bliss. If they keep resisting or are “too full of fear and doubt”, high doses of the drug can be administered to them and turn them into Angels, who are comparable to zombies according to some characters. Bliss irreversibly damages people’s brains, and those who become Angels unfortunately can never be saved. Faith and her followers seem to think they’re beautiful creations because they’re faithful to the Project and unable to sin. It seems she has the power to control them (at least partly), and the cult doesn’t hesitate to use them as “shock troops” or “slave labor and beasts of burden”, as NPCs say. They’re indeed very docile and resistant... as well as hard to kill.
Again, there are some discrepancies regarding what happens to potential converts in the Henbane River region, but it seems people first have to walk along the Pilgrimage path and, at the end of it, take a literal leap of faith from the statue of Joseph, just like Faith explains she did (even though whether or not the statue already existed at the time is a bit uncertain). As unbelievable as it sounds, NPCs confirm it’s entirely possible to survive the leap. After walking the Path, some pilgrims become Angels, some simply join the Project, and others don’t survive, either because they don’t make it to the end or die when they jump (maybe because their faith isn’t strong enough, I’m not sure how that works).
In the Family, Faith can be described as “the favorite child” (and I think that makes John jealous), who saw Joseph as her savior when they met and wants others to experience the same feeling, by force if necessary. Just like her brothers, she basically weaponizes her trauma and makes people relive a sublimated version of her life story: she targets the most vulnerable individuals, gives them drugs to ease their torment, and sometimes takes their minds away from them. Even though Faith is fully capable of thinking for herself, isn’t mind-controlled, was a drug user before she joined the Project (not after), and left her old self Rachel “in the darkness” willingly to be reborn as Faith Seed, she still became a new person for the Father and expects the same from anyone she converts, even if that means she has to completely brainwash them.
In conclusion, we don’t really know much about Rachel and her backstory, simply that she was broken, saw Eden’s Gate as a chance to start anew, and happily took it. Since she was young, desperate, and therefore suggestible when she met Joseph, one can wonder if Faith is simply a manipulated, brainwashed victim; a poor, helpless soul devoured by a cult. But although that situation is far from ideal or normal, she and other characters confirm that she too has teeth, and she doesn’t hesitate to use them. Rachel should theoretically just have been a victim, but as Faith Seed, she’s transcended this status. She’s found purpose, power, and is committed to her beliefs. Not everyone in Hope County precisely knows who she is, but now, she does. She’s a multifaceted mystery whom people tend to underestimate, and it’s something she likes to cultivate because that’s how she gets them. She’s a Siren, but in my opinion, also a Phoenix, who was consumed completely and rose up from her own ashes to be born again. Rachel was broken, but Faith is strong. Rachel lost herself, but Faith was found. Rachel was nothing; Faith can be anything.
#I was expecting this hehe#that still took more than a week because life has been busy :’)#far cry 5#faith seed#rachel not jessop#we’ve been fooled!#the wiki strikes again!#far cry 5 spoilers#I realize the phoenix comparison also works if you consider all the faiths#‘faith seed’ has already died and been born again as a new person#I mean literally a new person

Seed family - social media au
an alternate universe by insideedensgate, picture by subtlepatterns please don’t think I’m cray-cray people, I don’t know how this happend also, please consider that english isn’t my mother tongue, thank you x
Faith started it all
they were all sitting together in her living room, Joseph made dinner before, Jacob's doing the dishes
“Faith, who was the girl that spoke to you today? At the mall?”, John asks, uncaps a bottle of beer
“Oh, I don't know”, she smiles, “Said that she knows me from YouTube.”
Jacob drops the bowl he towels down, John looks at her startled “From where?”
“YouTube, John. Don't tell me you don't know what that is”
“Pretty sure he only knows YouPorn since Holly left him”, Joseph sneers, gets hit by the towel
after Faith introduced them to the different platforms online and they start, the number of subscribers is raising rapidly
Joseph's doing cooking videos, in which he experiments with different ingredients and shows off his extraordinary recipes
people of all ages appreciate his soothing and calm voice, witty jokes and charismatic appearance
his fans and followers call him Father Food, which he immediately uses as his ig and twitter (@.father_food)
he frequently gets into twitter fights with Jerome Jeffries, who mostly cooks national dishes and sticks straight to his recipes
they started doing cooking videos together a year ago and ended up as rivals
Jerome Jeffries @.JeFries 1h ago
“ @father_food feta breaded in hazelnuts? really? April's Fool, obviously?”
Joseph Seed @.father_food 1h ago
replied to @.JeFries
“at least I'm not dishonouring my grandmother's reputation by making money out of her recipes”
Faith Seed @.whiteflowersbliss 30mins ago
replied to @.JeFries
“your stuff tastes like shit, honestly. even my boyfriend vomited”
Jacob Seed @.bigdaddyjake 15mins ago
replied to @.whiteflowersbliss
“wait a second – you got a BOYFRIEND ???? wtf”
John Seed @.tattooedursins 5mins ago
replied to @.whiteflowersbliss @.bigdaddyjake
“just say yes. don't tell him it was irony”
one time, Joseph tries out My Drunk Kitchen
it's a mess, loud and chaotic with the smoke detectors going off several times
the cops, called by his sleepless neighbours arrive at 3am to arrest him
John gets him out, but not without Faith vlogging
Faith does tutorials of any kind, may it be for accessories or home décor
she also talks about depression, drug abuse and domestic abuse, sometimes John joins her
they once did a faq about adoption and mental illness
her ig is pretty famous too, all flowers and soft colours, pictures of her step-brothers and Jacobs dogs, the beautiful picturesque places she loves to visit
John is their editor, since he's too anxious to regularly show his face to the global community (“No way, Fai, never in a million years!”)
he tried it a couple of times, explaining the symbolism of his tattoos and teaching how to do tattoos on yourself but he eventually drops it in the end, he uploads pretty much once every few month
he's quite active on twitter nevertheless
he also once did a video about studying law at university and being a lawyer
as the audience, you really have to remind yourself that the montages in Joseph's videos are edited and that there was, originally, no font around to introduce the weight of certain ingredients
and, that Jacob probably isn't that much of joke machine the whole time – it's the edit that makes him hilarious
Faith's soft music, pretty filters and the extraordinary cutting? John's work
you really don't notice that the videos are edited they feel incredibly natural
Jacob plays a lot of shooters such as Fortnite, Overwatch, Battlefield and all that fuzz
his streams are highly adored and followed by thousands of like-minded players
the edited gameplay and stream highlights are the perfect compilation of skill and hilarious moments
Far Cry 4 is his thing, having the feeling to rescue and protect people reminds him a lot of his military times
he likes talking about his time at war on the internet, to clarify the job itself and shed a light on the darker sides of being a soldier for the US Army
“free_l0rd donated 50$: Oh lord, your sister's a beauty, she's grace”, “Holy fuck dude, what's that? Grace? Grace? She'll probably kick you in the face until her heel breaks off. She's fucking kick-ass, you son of a bitch. Breaks your nose. Twice. Cut your dick off-”, “Jacob, calm down. Just give that sucker behind that tree a fucking head shot, alright? I wanna finish this quest”
he's actually incredibly toxic and salty, he flames a lot but he's also quite a meme machine and a funny guy, that can also take a few jokes at his expense – people admire him for that
Jacob Seed @bigdaddyjake 3mins ago
“ended todays stream with 40 wins total. @.ninja who?”

The Deputy is never forgotten, not even in Kim Rye’s dreams.
TW: DEATH, GRIEF
Crying. It was always the crying that woke her up nowadays, and as much as she loved Nick and Carmina, Kim was exhausted. Nick was a heavy sleeper and didn't often stir when their daughter began crying in the middle of the night. When Kim woke up to the sound of Carmina crying, she rolled over to make sure Nick hadn't gotten up first, and low and behold, he was on the verge of snoring.
"What would I do without you, Nick?" Kim mumbled to herself as she tossed the sheets off of her body and shoved her feet into a pair of slippers. As soon as she'd pushed herself off the mattress, Carmina had quieted down. Normally needing more attention to fall back asleep, Kim wondered what her daughter had woken up for.
She shuffled from her bedroom, closing the door behind her quietly to avoid waking Nick and moved towards the nursery. Kim paused when she found the door ajar and saw a shadow of someone rocking back and forth in Carmina's nursing chair. Then she heard the soft sound of humming and Kim felt her breath catch.
Kim had heard that sound so many times in the middle of the night when the deputy couldn't sleep and took care of a restless Carmina so that she and Nick could catch up on their sleep. It was a sound she shouldn't be hearing, but one that she had wanted to for the past few weeks.
She pushed the door open and slipped inside of the bedroom, her heart in her throat as the humming got louder as she moved closer. Kim turned to close the door and stood there for a moment, her hands braced against the wood as she tried to even out her breathing.
Kim turned on her heels, her eyes slowly lifting from the floor and up to the rocking chair. She had to hold back the sob that had climbed its way up her throat, tears already falling down her cheeks.
In the chair was Rook, holding Carmina to her chest as she swayed back and forth, humming all the while to the sleeping infant. Her eyes lifted up from Carmina to Kim, the color jarring the new mother. For a moment she could see the lifeless version of them, the image forever burned into her mind.
"I have to be dreaming, you're-" "-Dead?" Kim rubbed her eyes and had started to state the obvious, but Rook cut her off with a sad smile before looking around the nursery. Her own eyes seemed to be blotchy with tears. Could Rook feel things wherever she was? Kim hoped not, for she knew that Rook would miss them all terribly, and she didn't want her best friend to be upset like everyone left alive was.
Rook's chest rose and fell as she sighed, Carmina's little body moving in unison with her. She looked down at the child and touched her cheek gently, the little girl gurgling in her sleep.
Kim reached out behind her for the wall, sliding against it into a sitting position once she'd found it. Her arms rested across her knees as she stared at the woman across from her. She refused to take her eyes off of Rook for fear she'd disappear the second she did so.
"I miss being in here. Being at your house. It was one of the few places I could get away from it all, y'know? I mean, Sharky and Hurk's too, but...let's be honest. I love them, but they're gross. What with Sharky and his piss collection." Rook laughed and Kim thought she was going to burst into tears. When she had been alive it wasn't a sound Kim heard often, but now that Rook was gone...she missed it every day.
Kim wanted to say something to comfort her friend, or even just to have another conversation with her. They could've talked about rocks and Kim would've listened like it was the most fascinating thing in the world because it would've been. Anything Rook talked about, Kim had listened. It was one the one thing Kim made sure to do and tried to get Nick to do, every time the deputy came around. Ask her how she was, if there was anything she needed, and let her do all the talking. Rook deserved it after everything she was doing for the citizens of Hope County.
"I'd ask how everyone is, but I'm afraid to find out." Rook's voice shook a little and her lip wobbled. Kim offered a sympathetic expression as she scooted along the floor until she was within arm's reach of the deputy. Kim quickly compiled a list of Rook's old pals in her head and tried to remember how they each were the last time she'd heard of or seen them.
"Boshaw misses you, but that's a given. You two were thick as thieves. He's still kicking ass though, but Hurk and Jess tag along with him usually. He tends to forget he's on his own now. Hurk acts the same for the most part. He's just gone from actually talking to you to, well, fake talking to you." Kim shrugged as she kept explaining what some of Rook's other friends were up to, including how Jess had gone on a rampage and Grace had done the same.
"I just...I'm so sorry, Kim. I tried I really did I..." Rook trailed off as she looked up at the ceiling and bit her bottom lip, presumably to prevent herself from crying and waking up Carmina. Kim reached out and wrapped her hand around Rook's ankle in a gesture of comfort.
"Hey, you did amazing. You did better than anyone else ever did, Rook. You crippled the cult enough that Whitehorse and the other two deputies got out to Missoula. They couldn't save Burke, but they went to get help. The sheriff radioed in over your frequency saying reinforcements are due any day now. We're going to be okay, Dep. All because of you." Kim spoke softly but with firm honesty.
"They made it?" Rook's eyes burned with hope, with relief that everything she'd done hadn't been in vein. Relief that she'd managed to actually save the people she cared about.
Kim nodded and wiped some tears from her face while rubbing her thumb over Rook's pant leg. "They made it. You died so that they could live, and it worked."
"I did my worst and tried my best, that's all I wanted." Rook laughed a few notes as she rubbed at her eyes with a fist, making sure to hold up Carmina with the other. When she looked back down at Kim though, Kim felt her heartbreak all over again. Her eyes were clouding with that familiar shade of death. Kim gave Rook's leg a squeeze with a nod as a lump formed in her throat.
"And you did, Rook. You did it." Kim whimpered as Rook smiled weakly, then her head fell back against the cushion of the rocking chair.
Kim sat up straight, her throat sore and chest heaving as she gripped at the sheets in front of her. She instinctively looked over at Nick, who was leaning towards Kim with a concerned expression on his face and a hand on Kim's shoulder.
"Another one, babe?" Nick could always tell when Kim had dreams of Rook, because she would begin to cry in her sleep. Nick was always torn between letting Kim see their best friend and waking her up.
"Yeah, another one."

sisterfriedes’ Far Cry 5 meta
You asked, and you shall receive! Here is the masterlist of all of my Far Cry 5 meta and headcanons so far. I didn’t include the rambles I talk about in tags, but most of my meta is a repetition of those things, anyway.
I’m also going to include the list in this post, in case people want to save it as a draft or something.
People seemed to be interested in this specifically, so I figured I’d compile all my Far Cry 5 meta/headcanons in one spot. All my meta on any fandom can be found in–you guessed it–the “meta” tag.
Joseph Seed:
What kind of gifts Joseph would give: part 1 | part 2
A discussion of Joseph in a relationship.
Joseph’s eulogy for John. (A continuation.)

My analysis of the live action “Baptism” trailer.
The significance of Joseph’s yellow sunglasses. (@casino-light’s and @starlighttonight’s continuation)
Joseph wearing a black collar instead of a white.
What is Joseph’s sin?
What if Joseph could chase you around Hope County?
John Seed:
@moondrops-burst’s idea of John taking care of the Angels.
sub!John anon’s soft headcanon of John and model planes.
@moondrops-burst asking about when you say ‘yes’ to John.
How The Dresden Dolls’ song “The Gardener” fits John’s experience with the Duncans.
How Lana Del Rey’s “Art Deco” fits John.
John’s body language in The Cleansing: part 1 | part 2
John’s Bunker sequence (with my live commentary).
Is John into BDSM?
What did John mean when he said “holes” in his body?
John and BPD.
John’s self-awareness about his own damage.
John and Holly’s relationship.
Jacob Seed:
Jacob struggling with accepting tenderness/affection.
How Jacob’s environment and experiences shaped him.
Jacob’s struggles with self-worth and the value of his life.
soft!dom Jacob headcanon.
What is Jacob’s sin?
Faith Seed:
How Faith uses pain as a way to bond.
What made this Faith the best Faith?
Faith is the most powerful member of her family, stop making her into a victim.
How Emilie Autumn’s “Swallow” fits Faith.
How fandom overlooks Faith’s intelligence.
Faith is not a manic pixie dream girl.
What is Faith’s sin?
Joseph and the Deputy:
How Joseph feels about the Deputy.
How Matthew 5:44 fits Joseph/the Deputy.
How the Deputy seems to subconsciously want to connect to Joseph.
How a Deputy who doesn’t believe would co-exist with Joseph in the bunker.
John and the Deputy:
John accidentally doing relationship-y things with the Deputy.
Comparing Villanelle from Killing Eve to the type of Deputy that might fit John.
Mini-meta/fic of John decorating the church for a wedding.
What if John and the Deputy were in the bunker instead?
How John feels about the Deputy.
Could John have changed if the Deputy joined the cult?
Mini-meta/fic of John doing romantic things for the Deputy.

Hello !! So i was talking to someone else about this but if you didn’t kill the heralds would the nuclear attack happen ? Like if it really is gods wrath that happens because all the seals have been opened it could be prevented by just arresting them cause the seals being opened is through killin them. Also imagine if Joseph still thought they were dead then at the confrontation at the resist ending he raises his arms and fuck all happens 😂 - deputymcadam
We’ll get to the serious part in a minute, but let me tell you, I just woke up from a dream where fc5 had a gag reel like a Hollywood movie and Joseph being all dramatic only for absolutely nothing to happen sounds like something right out of that dream.
(I remember a couple other noteworthy things: Sharky’s flames kept getting out of control and the crew had to keep putting it out and calling things like “call the insurance company. again.” Faith tripped while she was running through the field and fell on her face with her little bare feet kicked up behind her. John was filming the “Yes” video but he didn’t realize the camera had started rolling so there were like thirty seconds of him making silly faces at Hudson while she flipped him off. And there was a compilation of Jacob flubbing his lines. “We let the strong dictate to the weak and we… shit. I did that backwards. One more time.”)
Now for the meta. I know it’s canon that the world is already on the brink of nuclear war, and IRL Montana does house a storage facility for America’s nuclear weapons, making it an obvious target (alongside seats of government and major population centers) in the case of warfare. So chances are good that, in the canon of the game, the nuclear war would have happened whether the deputy interfered or not.
Even in the “walk away” ending, we don’t see anything that happens after Only You starts playing on the truck radio. Now, I want everyone to live, even the Seeds (especially the Seeds, truth be told - Rook should have tried to bring them in alive, but that’s another meta) so I don’t like saying this, but I think the bombs probably fell shortly after that scene. It takes less time for Rook and co. to get into the truck and drive away than it does for them to fight Joseph and attempt to arrest him. I think it’s just a case of really, REALLY dramatic timing.
That being said, it would add an extra layer to the story if the heralds were either taken in alive or left alone and then peace (tenuous though it may be) was somehow achieved between the global powers involved in the nuclear attacks. That would prove that Joseph is correct in saying that his siblings’ deaths are opening the seals.
TL;DR: Joseph was right, but was he right that God Himself ordained the events, or merely that the world as we know it would end? Does it even matter when all is said and done?
