q7 - Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

this is tough because my fics are all literally just about atmospheres but if i had to choose it might be this

Snow fell gently outside like a mother's kiss; silently and leisurely, savouring each second of the fall until it met the ground. There was a calmness to it that spreaded through the homes and colouring the silences with an underlying solace where time no longer rushed forward, where time sat right beside. No more running, Dongsik thought, as he stood before the window and watched the streets layer with a thin blanket of dirty white snow. For once in a long time, Manyang no longer felt haunted by an itch under the skin. For once, there was tranquility and the wintery air had become a breath of relief instead of a reminder that somewhere, a body might be freezing underground.

q10 - How do you decide what to write?

also tough because i'm probably the most reckless writer out there who writes purely on instincts and lack of planning whatsoever. most of the time i start writing a fic it's bc i read a poem/novel and got inspired or from songs that have really great storytelling. then afterwards it's just mostly me writing and letting the story flow on its own by however feels right lol but if necessary i do map out the plot by bulleted points! sometimes i just sit and picture myself as the characters in the fic and wonder what the hell juwon would do or say if he was in that situation etc.

this is so sweet but also really mean because i cant make decisions even if my life depended on it djffjd but i think i'll talk about q30 (Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?)

I have! Twice; first was the juwon/joongsang crossover fic because Aus are scary territory for me especially crossover ones. plus joongsang barely had lines in the film so deciding his word choices and tone was awfully difficult, and i already had a hard time with dialogues, which is why afterwards dialogues came slightly easier to me? it also made me understand juwon's character better because how else can u explore a character besides putting them in situations that are drastically separated from canon (in my opinion at least)

Second time was my jwds prompt fic where it was written in second pov. This is quite obvious because a lot of comments mentioned how difficult it is to write and read in 2nd pov so it was quite challenging. i had to figure out how to not make it feel awkward or reminiscent of those celebrity self insert imagines from 2010 lmao and apparently it worked ? i guess. writing those prompts in 2nd pov definitely helped me know how to make the story flow smoother though so <3

Starring: Nana, Park Sunghoon

Synopsis: Ko Sera is poor, but has a bright personality. She is famous for filing civil complaints. On the other hand, Seo Kongmyung is a public officer who follows his principles and does not get along well with others. They become involved.

My Notes: I’m not quite sure how to feel about this drama (or Nana’s hair), but it might be nice to see Park Sunghoon as a leading man (since the last drama he was in, he was a psychopath lol).

She Knows Everything

Starring: Kang Sungyeon, Jo Hansun

Synopsis: Lee Goongbok is a real estate apartment that works with apartments at an apartment complex about to undergo construction. Recently, mysterious cases have been happening there, catching veteran detective In Cheolho’s attention. He meets Lee Goongbok there.

My Notes: It’s a short drama, but it does sound interesting, plus I like the idea of a secret collecting female lead.

The Good Detective

Starring: Son Hyunjo, Jang Seungjo, Lee Elijah

Synopsis: Kang Dochang is a detective with 18 years of experience. He takes a head on approach to investigating, using his experience instead of science. Oh Jihyeok only has 9 years of experience, but unlike Kang Dochang, he uses insight into the criminal and science to solve cases, all while dealing with unresolved childhood trauma. Jin Seokyung is a 5 year veteran reporter who is extremely passionate about her work. These three become connected.

My Notes: The leading cast might seem like a motley crew, but I’m very excited to see Lee Elijah in this, plus I enjoy older/younger man mentor/mentee dynamics a lot (like Tunnel, etc.), so I have high hopes for this one.

Men are Men

Release Date: July 6th on KBS2

Episode Count: 32 (30 min)

Genre: Rom-Com

Starring: Hwang Jungeum, Yoon Hyunmin, Seo Jihoon

Synopsis: Seo Hyunjoo works on a webcomic planning team. She wants to remain single, but attracts the attention of two guys. One of them is Hwang Jiwoo, who is the cold CEO of a pharmaceutical company, and the other is popular webcomic author Park Dogyeom, who grew up like siblings with Seo Hyunjoo.

My Notes: The plot seems a little iffy, but the cast is pretty solid (Hwang Jungeum has grown on me lately, even if she is a little hit or miss, and the two male leads are pretty sweet). I mean, but it’s taking over Born Again’s slot, and anything with half a plot could top that. It’s also called To All the Guys Who Loved Me (coughcough).

Was It Love

Release Date: July 8th on JTBC & Netflix

Genre: Rom-Com

Starring: Song Jihyo, Son Hojun, Song Jongho, Koo Jasung, Kim Minjun, Kim Dasom

Synopsis: No Aejung has been a single mother for 14 years. She works as the producer for a moive company. Suddenly, four men appear in front of her: best selling novelist Oh Daeo, who has a mystery life; popular actor Ryu Jin; Koo Pado, a once gangster hwo is now the CEO of a finance company; and Oh Yeonwoo, who is a PE teacher at a school. Kim Dasom is an a-list actress.

My Notes: I’m not well acquainted with the cast, but it looks like it’ll be a pretty refreshing watch for the summer.

My Notes: Seems interesting? It looks like it’ll be pretty gritty. There’s not a lot of info on it plot wise.

Flower of Evil

Release Date: July 22nd on TVN

Episode Count: 16

Genre: Suspense & Thriller

Starring: Moon Chaewon, Lee Joongki

Synopsis: Cha Jiwon is a detective. She is happily married to Baek Heesung, and they have a daughter together. Though Baek Heesung seems to be a kind and loving man, he harbors a secret darkness in him, deceiving his wife. When Cha Jiwon starts investigating a dark case, she becomes more and more afraid of the secrets her husband is hiding, and becomes determined to get to the bottom of this.

My Notes: I’m pretty sure this is going to be the number one kdrama of July for a lot of avid drama watchers, with both the leads making their comeback after around two leads. They starred in Criminal Minds together, and I’m excited to see them on screen again. It’s going to be really interesting to see Lee Joongki taking on a role he hasn’t really played before.

q3 - What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

i think it's quite obvious if u read at least one or two of my fics but it's definitely character study and establishing an atmosphere and just writing along that mood. im not much of a plot person even though i do love reading fics with plot, i guess because i started out writing through poetry first and i can never escape that part of me + im too impatient to plan out the fic it's actually a problem lmao but who cares i'll still end up writing about juwon and his guilt in 5k words <3

q21 - If you wrote a “missing scene” in [death, suits you dear sir], what would it be?

im actually sooo flattered that fic is still relevant to you bc it was just a silly thing i wrote for two people that i genuinely didnt expect others would enjoy it!! this one's interesting because i hadnt planned out more than what was in the fic but i guess i would have elaborated more on the flashbacks that should have clued juwon on who joongsang was if he wasnt too caught up in his grief (like a scene of juwon being woken up by joongsang answering a phone call while also getting dressed etc.) or a scene of juwon being questioned afterwards by his seniors about what happened and he's just mostly in a daze.

fun fact! i was actually writing a sequel where juwon visits joongsang in prison but never completed it (obv) and here's an excerpt since you're one of my fav mutuals ever:

“You’re regretting it, aren’t you?” Joongsang asked. His eyes never left Juwon once since he’d walked in.  “What am I regretting?” “Not killing me,” the man smiles. “I can see it on your face. You’re an open book, you know. You think you hide your emotions well but I can see everything. It’s interesting.” “You don’t know me,” Juwon leans forward. He glares at Joongsang, his head reeling at the suggestive words. “You don’t know anything about me—” “You don’t have to do that with me, Detective. We are well acquainted, aren’t we?” Juwon feels his lips run dry. His tongue is paralysed, and suddenly his mouth is flooded with the aftertaste of bitter memories. “That was nothing,” Juwon swallowed. “Those nights were nothing.” “Is that right? You’re not convincing anyone, Detective. Maybe yourself, but not me.” Juwon tries to reply, although he doesn’t seem to know with what exactly. But in the time he tries to come up with an answer, Joongsang moves closer to the glass, his words darting out like the jab of a knife, “Why didn’t you kill me?” Juwon’s lips part. He breathes in. Out. In. He holds it, before exhaling a quiet, “What?” “Why didn’t you just put a bullet in my head? Why let me live?”
