Alex for sure keeps one of Jo’s pregnancy tests hidden inside a drawer at work even though he is fully aware that it’s kinda all the way gross. He might or might not also frame the blood test results too. 

Alex immediately goes shopping for onesies on his way back to work literally the day she finds out she is pregnant, before she takes a blood test to confirm it. (“We don’t even know if I’m pregnant yet, Alex” “Well, you might not know, but I do”)

Arizona sends Alex back the scrubs onesies that he made Sofia once she finds out that he and Jo are expecting. Meanwhile, Cristina gets them a onesie that says “Evil Spawn’s Spawn”

Alex wasn’t heart in an elevator guy… but he ends up being baby in an elevator guy instead.

Jo goes into labor and the two of them are stuck in an elevator and Alex starts telling Jo about that time he froze up with George while she’s literally in labor on the floor. (“THATS NOT HELPFUL ALEX!!”)

Jo gets pregnant literally right after their second wedding because you know…. karma. 

It might or not be in Alex’s car in the parking lot but we’re not gonna talk about that

And she immediately realizes she shouldn’t have made that joke during the wedding.

Alex is absolutely like “This is why we don’t joke around Jo!”

On their one year anniversary, Jo is at home spamming Alex with pics of their baby in a hotdog costume.

“Jo, why did you put our son in a hotdog costume? This is ridiculous”

*proceeds to ask her to take a selfie of the three of them and uploads it to his instagram*

You know Jo drags Alex to the mall to take a family photo with Santa and their newborn. Alex protests saying that the baby is too little to understand Christmas but the next day she finds the photo on his desk at work. 

Alex brings their baby around the peds ward showing them off to everyone. He literally walks around the hospital all day carrying the baby in a carrier. 

IN FACT, Link and Alex both carry their babies around the hospital, meanwhile Jackson has Harriet strapped to his back. #DadGang

When they have a boy, Jo walks up to them while Alex has him in the carrier and she says: “There’s the most handsome boy in the world!” 

Alex thanks her and Jo responds with: “I definitely wasn't talking to you.”

He has to shave with a 10 blade in the hospital while Jo is giving birth because he either didn’t have time to do it before or cause he forgot to and he doesn’t wanna hurt the baby (“Babies have sensitive skin Jo!”)

(If they had a little girl and she told Alex that she didn’t like his mustache because “it makes itchy kisses” so Alex immediately goes and shaves it)

Alex said three kids and Jo said one and they’d compromise on two…

Their third is an absolute accident involving a lot of alcohol.

And she never EVER lets Alex live it down.

“I told him two was fine and we should’ve just gotten a dog BUT NO”

“You owe me for this third one.”

“Owe you what?”

In the end, Jo gets full naming rights. (and ends up naming their third baby after Alex)

When they all wake up early and one of them has to get up and Jo’s just like “You wanted three of them, you can wrangle three of them.”

Alex said they’d get one on each team for snowball fights and Jo’s there with their third baby like what are we gonna do now and he just shrugs like “Four?” And she throws a snowball at his face

“You push it out and you can have as many as you want Karev”

“We could get a surrogate?”

“Or we could get a divorce.”

So I know Alex would be fiercely in love and in awe of his daughter(s) but the little jolt of man pride in a son would be adorable as well. Kinda like Mark and his grandson.

Alex singing Highway to Hell to his kids and Jo is like ??? and he’s like “Don’t worry about it, AC/DC calms down the NICU babies all the time.”

Jo calls Arizona and is like “Did you know that Alex sings AC/DC to the NICU babies?” and she goes “Yeah that’s because i told him Def Leppard is all mine”

And their kid just… falls asleep

And Jo just goes: “I can already tell you two will be the death of me”

Jo takes EXACTLY zero of Alex and their kids shit because you know they’re always ganging up on her.

And everytime she gets pregnant again she's glad because “This one will for sure be on my side!”

But their older two aren't… they’re both wrapped around Alex’s finger

But their third baby, the one Jo was so against, is a total’s mommy’s kid and Alex NEVER let’s her live it down

“I thought you didn’t want a third, look at you now”

Mind you, this kids existence is a thing because their parents got shit faced and almost send Jo on a downward spiral and that’s the one that loves her most.

I'm not even saying this as an amelink (pissed at them both too lol) but kaimelia just didnt hit it for me yknow? maybe they need to explore kai more but for now i really dont care abt them. as for the rest.... lemme just say my top canon greys ships were slexie, jolex, japril, teddy/henry, teddy/tom, mernathan and merhayes (not even canon tbh). all of them are either dead, gone or probably (hopefully) living together in boston. Lol.

- trauma chief owen hunt was so sexy until they started forcing romantic storylines on him and making him a whiny lil bitch who wouldnt stop bugging the women in his life for babies. i loved his storyline w Leo and i really wish theyd just stop w the romance shit. i loved his relationship w april and i loved the whole megan storyline but he is SO annoying when he's in relationships ugh i cant stand him. (ALL my love for kevin tho hes the BEST muah)

Hi friend! So given 1. how much we shipped jolex but 2. the fact that Alex was written off GA in such a character-assassinating way, if they ever brought back Alex the way they're bringing back April (which I know is only for an episode but I'm pretending it's more!), would you truly want jolex back together? Part of me does, but another part doesn't think either Jo or I can forgive him :)

I’d hate for them to be put back together, the way things happened. Unless there were some serious shenanigans involved (like, I saw someone post they hc Izzie kidnapped Alex and made him write the letters and he did because of the kids, or that he had a breakdown and hallucinated the whole thing. Neither things I believe happened, but they are the only “excuses” I can see the show giving for it that would actually make it even a little bit forgivable), what he did is straight up unforgivable in my mind. It’d be very hypocritical of me, too, because I spent years thinking the people who wanted Derek to come back from the dead were straight up out of their minds because that’d mean Derek faked his death and hurt mer, amelia and his kids in a way that no presidential medal of honor or whatever could possibly erase (like, I’m writting a fic about this very theme and Derek is straight up the villain in it, and very ooc at it because as much as I despise the guy, I don’t think he’d ever do it).

Plus, it’d make the whole thing worse because the way things happened, as much as I hate it, I can take a deep breath and think “He’s alive and well and being a great dad and apparently he loves Izzie all over again so lets think he is happy”. Him coming back to Jo would mean he caused all that pain for an attempt that didn’t even work out.

I was rewatching the kangaroo hold scene (for science) thinking about Justin’s tattoos and how hard they must be to hide which got me thing about Jolex and tattoos-my hc is Alex would never-he’s doesn’t wanna be perceived as less than professional especially bc he constantly feels less than. Jo on the other hand would totally be into tattoos-I think when she and Alex have kids she’d get their names, maybe their wedding date, or a stethoscope Do you have Jolex tattoo headcanons?

Hmm, this is interesting! I don’t personally see Jo being into tattoos because of how permanent they are and the idea of having names tatted onto her body would probably freak her out. Instead of a tattoo, I could definitely see Alex getting her a necklace or stackable rings that say their kid’s names. I agree with your theory about Alex and tattoos, though!

🎶so many thoughts I think it’s time for a headcanon roundup (headcanon roundup!)🎶

It’s been a really tough couple years. With Alex sending her that fucking letter and jo showing up at the hospital calling him out on his bullshit and them reconciling. To izzie’s brain cancer coming back again and this time her not beating it. To jo and Alex working day in and day out, dealing with thousands of miles and handful of states between them through a long distance relationship, a move into Jackson’s old penthouse, the adoption of luna and becoming a family of five in less than two years.

The twins had been enrolled in elementary school in Kansas that year, and Alex jo and izzie had decided they wanted to let them finish their kindergarten year there before moving them to seattle.

Izzie had decided to undergo some chemotherapy but when it had yielded no results, they’d made the move to seattle, hoping that shepherd could find something to help.

She hadn’t and izzie had finally had to let go, saying goodbye to her babies while they were only six years old.

And then the decision to add luna to their family after jo had delivered her during covid, the twins having been enrolled in first grade online due to covid their first official year in seattle.

So when second grade had finally come around and mandates had been lifted, kids were able to return to in person schooling, the twins had been excited to finally meet their friends from last year face to face.

Jo’d been acclimated to helping the twins grieve and everyone in their circle all knew the stories and knew what had happened.

She’d been thrown when she’d arrived home around bedtime, Alex walking down the stairs after getting all three kids down before he looks at her.

“We have a problem and I have no idea what happened but Lex has been upset and said she only wants to talk to you. I barely got her to eat dinner tonight she took about three bites. Will you bring her an uncrustable or something?”

Jo’s mouth opens and closes quickly before she grabs two pb&js from the freezer and books it up the stairs still in her scrubs.

She knocks softly on Alexis’s bedroom door, letting her know she’s coming in. “It’s me, Lex”

She opens the door and peeks in, seeing Alexis’s dark eyes shining in the nightlight lit room. She pads over softly, laying the sandwiches on the nightstand and scooting the girl over on her bed before she slides in next to her, grabbing one of the sandwiches and opening it, taking a bite.

“Dad says you wanted to talk to me?” She says casually.

Alexis doesn’t reply, just plays with the worn pink stuffed cow in her arms.

Jo let’s her sit quietly, knowing she’ll talk in her own time. “How was Lu today? Did she eat her dinner tonight or just throw it on the floor and make daddy clean it up?” She asks, taking another bite.

“She ate, more than me even.”

“Why? Did daddy burn the food?” She knows he didn’t, she’s just trying to get her to talk.

“No.”

“Want a bite?” She asks, offering the uncrustable to her.

Alexis takes the half sandwich that’s left and takes a bite, keeping a hold on it. Jo takes it as a win and grabs the other sandwich, opening it and taking a bite of that one now, realizing she was hungry.

The two eat in silence together, side by side in bed before alexis looks up at jo as she shoves the last bite of uncrustable into her mouth.

“‘Member last week when you helped me with the ‘my family’ picture?” She asks and jo nods.

“I do.” She says, not completely knowing where this was going yet, but trying to follow along.

“Mason said that you can’t be me and lunas mom because we didn’t look ‘like. That you and daddy look like eli so only he’s your kid. And I told him it’s cause my mommy died, and then neveah and peyton called me an orphan and i said that you’re jo, but you’re still the mom.”

Jo rubs a hand over her face, appalled at how brutal some of these kids could truly be.

She could honestly flick all three of them right in the forehead for the comments they made to alexis and how they made her feel.

She takes a deep breath, “I love you.” She says softly, wrapping her arms around the seven year old. “You know that looks don’t make a family. That it doesn’t matter if we have blonde hair or brown hair or blue hair even. It doesn’t matter if we have dark skin or light skin. And after Mom died, I got the privilege to become your mama jo, but regardless of your mom dying, I would always be your family and luna will always be your sister and eli will always be your brother and daddy will always be your dad.”

“I know. It just made me mad that they said you couldn’t be my mom or lunas mom and called me weird because I call you jo. And–and” she starts, getting herself worked up again and starting to tear up.

“You know that it doesn’t matter what you call me or what anyone says, Lex. You’re as much as my child as Luna is or as Eli is. Okay? And if you decide that you want to call me mom in hopes that it might help at school, or anything, I’m fine with that. This is all up to you. But I will be here just like a mom will. I promise you that.”

Alexis looks up at her with watery brown eyes. “Can i call you mama jo then?”

Jo holds her just a smidge tighter, running her hand through Alexis’s long blonde hair, cradling her head against her chest.

“Lex, you call me whatever feels comfortable to you.”

“Luna calls you mama, and eli calls you jo so I put them together, mama jo.”

“I will be mama jo to you, as long as you’ll have me. I’ll email your teachers tomorrow and maybe we’ll send you to school with the ‘that’s their family’ book for show and tell?” she says and Lex nods. “You ready for bed now? It’s way past your bedtime.”

Alexis nods. “Will you read me the family book?”

Jo nods, grabbing it from Alexis’s nightstand and opens it, starting to read to the tune of the Addams family.

Jo finishes the book and closes it, grabbing the sandwich wrappers and slipping out of the bed.

“Night mama jo, love you” she hears the tiny whisper.

“Night, Lex, love you too.”

hey babes! no u have not. I was working on it, then got stuck, then was able to finally fricken finish not coming home part 2 (welcome home) and then I started a new series whoops that im trying to finish up writing tonight I have 3/5 chapters written and almost finished I’ll start posting that hopefully next week. 

kkc is still being worked on but I’d gotten stuck with the timeline which I finally worked out but then lost my motivation for a bit and started the new project so once im finished that one I’ll go back to more KKC things. I promise I haven’t abandoned it! I love my kkc fam and still jot down HC for them in the big doc I just was burnt out with the current storyline I was working on with them at that moment. I will be back for it!!! 

in other news, I absolutely cannot wait to share this new project with yall! I really think you’re all going to looooooove it. I have 2 chapters left to write which im currently writing right now, paused to eat food and check Tumblr but im gonna try and crank them out since I plan to be back at work again thursday and wanted to finish the fic before all hell broke loose with my schedule again now that ive bounced back from surgery again. 

I still have one ask in my inbox that says

As much as I am absolutely LOVING all the angsty post 16.16 pregnancy fics and would not be opposed to a million more, if you're in the mood for some fluff I'm in full support of a happy & somewhat comedic jolex pregnancy fic set in s17 ignoring the entire kansas storyline. Honestly I'd love a fic based on any of the HC from that list you posted a while back!

Okay so I swear I’m working on Hesitte and the second part of the fic with Paul in it BUT I know I wanna do NaNoWriMo this year so I have two ideas swirling in my head for that and they’re both pretty fluffy and don’t have anything to do with 16x16. I haven’t figured out which one I want to do for November, but they’re both super exciting to me. And of course they involve Jolex babies!!
