ive followed your for a while and i think youre pretty cool and your love for werewolves has now infected me. do you have any media recs about wolves?

oh my god YES I DO are you kidding? okay. here's a collection of my biggest recommendations in no particular order

an american werewolf in london (movie) and ginger snaps (movie) are cult classics and SO GOOD. aawil is everything you want out of a tragic 1980s werewolf movie and more. ginger snaps is everything that 1980s werewolf movies didnt have with some very fun puberty + inevitability of transformation themes thrown in. both are required for u to follow this blog (kidding, but watch them!!!)

rules for werewolves (book) is a sooo insanely good and no one has read it enough so i HEAVILY recommend it!!! it's a major reason i think about werewolves the way i do and soo unique and creative. the writing style is intoxicating and kind of like a script but without stage directions- really lets your imagination take over

lycanthropy and other chronic illnesses (book) is a fun read, no masterpiece but the themes and disability stuff did have me choking up at one point so if youre into that give it a try!!! i also LOVE the werewolf description + design in laoci, its very unique and i adore it

i don't think critical role (ttrpg actual play) counts as a strictly "werewolf media" but chetney pock o'pea IS an excellent werewolf that intentionally defies a lot of common stereotypes and uses it as an allegory for mental illness! in a similar vein, ylfa snorgelson from dimension 20's neverafter (ttrpg actual play) is a GREAT werewolf and one of my favorites message wise, even though i haven't actually seen much of neverafter yet. so if you like actual plays, check those out

i'd also be a fool not to mention the werewolf pride movement!! its an academic thesis, not really a media, but HUGELY impactful to my werewolf thoughts and an excellent read for any looking for some interesting queer werewolf commentary!

speed round for werewolf medias i like but don't have much to say about: wolfwalkers (movie), silver bullet (movie), after dark (webcomic), wolfblood (tv series), teen wolf (tv series, season one is good the rest is not), and werewolves within (movie)

am i forgetting any? yes probably. but thats a good start 👍👍
