Craig McCracken is my favorite cartoon creator! Here are my true stories on how I got obsessed with four of Craig McCracken’s TV shows. 

I first discovered The Powerpuff Girls on Boomerang back when I was about 10 years old in 2010, I have seen the old bumpers of it announcing after its run on Cartoon Network, it had found a new home on its sister channel. Since I was waiting to watch Pokémon The Johto Journeys, I had to watch other shows I never even herd of like The Mr. Men Show. But other then that, The Powerpuff Girls were actually my first look at the works of a cartoon creator that I would soon known from years to come.

Then flash-forward to 2015, I became a Craig McCracken fan all thanks to a loving adorable alien. (We’ll get to him later.) I decided to check out PPG again on Netflix and as luck may have it, my obsession with this series and the three superhero trio was born! 

For Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, I didn’t watch its original run but thanks to YouTube, I discovered the series back in 2016 and watched two episodes and one of the specials, Berry Scary, Afair Weather Friends and Destination Imagination. Soon I became a Fosters nut just like everybody else. I’m planning on watching the series more during my vacation. 

Wander Over Yonder was the Craig McCracken cartoon I obsessed with a LOT when I got into it. I remembered seeing the small clip of The Picnic that played during the Gravity Falls 2013 Comic Con Panel, but I wasn’t hooked on it...not yet actually. 

Flash-forward to 2014 when I discovered Wander’s Wikipedia, saw these screenshots of Wander and from that moment, I was HOOKED! Wander became my favorite show, I talked about it, drew pictures of Wander, Sylvia and all their friends, I loved looking it up on Tumblr. (This was way before I had an account.), recited a bunch of episodes, watched Season 1 and 2 thanks to ITunes and Disney XD, got obsessed with Wander’s vocie actor, Jack McBrayer, took a bunch of screenshots of the friendly alien and even dressed up as the helpful Wandering Wanderer for Halloween one year! To this day, I keep WOY alive and I am proud to be in this Wanderful fandom with all of these epic Wanderers out there! You guys rock! 

Now it all comes together with Craig’s newest show, Kid Cosmic. I still remember hearing the news that he was developing a brand new series for Netflix. I was curious and wonder, what would it be about? Then as the years went by, I got my first look at it, thanks to this amazing fanart drawn by the incredible talented @signor-signor. Sooner or later, I saw new promo pictures, the trailer, the sneak peeks and I guess you could say, I was HYPED to watch this! 

And I certainly was! Kid and Jo’s relationship reminded me a lot of Wander and Sylvia. Even Papa G was basically Wander! Orange shirt, green hat with a star on it. Reference to our favorite Wandering Wanderer. :) To make a long story short, I loved Kid Cosmic and I am SUPER EXCITED to see what Seasons 2 and 3 hold for Kid Cosmic and the Local Heroes! 

Happy 50th Birthday, Craig McCracken! Thank you for making these four amazing shows that I grew up with as a teenager and a adult.

Ghosts of the Past

Chapter 2

Five Years Later

Ten year olds Leon, Marionette, and Sonia were as thick as thieves. Nothing could separate the three, but that was soon about to change. The annual Gym Challenge was approaching, and the three want to be Trainers were excited, to say the least. Leon wanted to try to take the champion title, however, Marionette and Sonia were simply in it for the adventure.

"We'll still be friends when I become Champion, Mari!" Leon said enthusiastically as the two walked the familiar scenery of Route 2 as they were on their way to pick up their recommendations and Dynamax Bands from Professor Mongolia. In the five years since Marionette's moving to Galar, her mother had unexpectedly gotten sick and died six months into living in the expansive region. At least, that's what the police told the five year old Marionette.

"Are you sure?" Marionette asked as she lightly hugged the Shuppet close to her body. It let out a small cry of happiness at the affection from its trainer. Since her mother’s passing, Marionette had been adopted by Leon’s mother. She was practically family from the moment Amaya met the young girl. "Being a Champion is more than battling Trainers. There are a lot more things that come with the job, Leon."

"Of course I'm sure!" Leon exclaimed with a fist bump in the air. His enthusiasm and excitement might've been contagious to those around him, but it was something that Marionette didn't understand in the five years in knowing the purple haired boy. "Even if I tried, I couldn't forget someone as weird and gloomy as you, Mari."

"I'm not that weird, am I?" Marionette asked with a frown, looking down at the Shuppet in her arms. Shuppet shook its head as if reassuring its trainer that she wasn't weird. She smiled briefly at this. "And I'm not gloomy, you stupid Dragon Boy."

"I'm not a Dragon Boy!" Leon screamed as Marionette began running on ahead, letting go of her Shuppet, which floated above her head with matching speed. Marionette couldn’t help but laugh at Leon’s reaction as she ran the final stretch of road leading to Professor Magnolia's home. 

The two eventually made it to the Magnolia household in record time. The Professor in question was waiting outside her home with Sonia by her side. While the ginger haired female looked annoyed with waiting for them, she looked happy to see her friends nonetheless.

"Did you get your recommendation and Dynamax Band already, Sonia?" Marionette asked the ginger quietly as she slowed to a stop. The brunette female didn't look exhausted as she and Leon ran up to the house. 

"Last night, yeah," answered Sonia with a grin as she presented items in question to the quiet female. The quiet female gave her friend a smile as Leon stopped next to her, panting heavily as he slowed to a stop in front of the older woman and her granddaughter; falling in line with Marionette.

"How are you not even out of breath?!" whined Leon, resting his hands on his knees to catch his breath. That just proved how out of shape the ten year old male was. It caused the older woman to let out a low chuckle at the comment as she watched the two children in front of her.

"Now, now, you two," Professor Magnolia said, causing the purple haired male and brunette to look up at her, disrupting any forming argument between the two that could possibly start. "I want you two to promise me to have fun on your adventure and to meet a lot of Pokemon during it."

"Promise!" Both children exclaimed at the same time, radiating happiness and furor. The older woman smiled at them as she handed the two their recommendations and Dynamax bands.

"The three of you will want to make your way to Motostoke," the female Professor explains as Sonia joins her two friends in front of the older woman. “Once there, you’ll want to sign up for the Gym Challenge as soon as you reach the city.”

“Yes, Professor!" The three simultaneously exclaimed at the same time, excitement coming off them in waves. The three ten years waved at the Professor as they began to walk away from the purple roofed house, causing the said woman to wave back. As she waved, Magnolia couldn’t help but worry about the kids she just sent off, especially a certain brunette female.

Two of the three ten years enthusiastically talked about what they thought their journey would entail. Meanwhile, the brunette remained quiet as she listened to the conversation, deep into her own thoughts like she usually was. Over the last five years, Leon and Sonia learned that it was best to leave Marionette to her thoughts, whatever they were. As much as they wanted to know what went through the brunette's head, Sonia and Leon knew it would take time for Marionette to open up to them.

“Marionette,” says Sonia, casually. This pulled the brunette female out of her thoughts and looked at Sonia with a look of confusion. Marionette’s Shuppet had been floating about with Charmander and Yamper, playing with them as they walked towards the station. “We’re at the station.”

“Already?”

“It didn’t take us that long to get here, silly,” Sonia says with a smile as she flicked her friend’s forehead. Marionette let out a small whine of pain as she rubbed the spot of her forehead that was flicked. While Sonia was concerned about her friend, the ginger learned to not question the brunette. Sonia’s reasoning was that whatever happened in Kanto, Marionette would come to her and Leon when the small girl was ready. As the said small girl got her ticket to the Wild Area, Sonia had to ask. “Are you excited?”

“Of course I am!” Marionette said happily, a smile on her face. The two taller children let out a sigh of relief at the answer, they both worried when Marionette got lost in her thoughts. “I can’t wait to see all of the Ghost Pokemon that the Galar region has to offer.”

“Were there not many Ghost Pokemon in the Kanto region?” Leon asked curiously as they boarded the train. This caused Marionette to shake her head.

“Kanto only has Gastly,” Marionette answers as she slipped into a seat, followed by Sonia sitting next to her; which left Leon the seat across from them. Marionette pulled out her first generation Rotom Phone, which was a clunky little thing, but simple enough for her needs. “Johto, the neighboring region, the same. Although, Johto has a bit of a variety when it comes to Ghost Pokemon.”

“Really?” Sonia asked as she looked at the brunette out of the corner of her eye. If Kanto only offered Gastly as the only Ghost Pokemon, how did Marionette get Shuppet? “How did you get Shuppet, then?”

“It wandered over from the Hoenn region,” Marionette simply says as she looked at her phone, not bothering to look up as she talked. Shuppet let out a cry of confirmation at this. “By the time I found it, it was on the verge of fainting due to hunger and exhaustion."

"That's it?" Leon asked, a frown on his face. Why did he feel like there was more to the story? "It wasn't a birthday present or anything?"

"What?" Marionette hums as she looks up from her phone with a look of utter disbelief on her face. Peeking at the screen, Sonia found that Marionette was looking up various locations for Ghost Pokemon to catch. "My mother didn't give me birthday presents."

"She didn't?" Leon asked. It was a simple question that had a complex answer. And it was one Marionette wasn't willing to dish out.

"Drop it, Leon," Sonia hissed as she watched Marionette return to her phone, scrolling and taking notes on a sheet of paper that she had snagged at the station. Shuppet let out a sad cry as it floated into its owner's lap.

The laughs of Sonia, Nessa, and Marionette fill the streets of Hammerlocke as they shop. With disposable coffee cups in hand, they felt invincible.

"Oh, my god," Nessa wheezes as they left a clothing store that didn't have what the three females were looking for. "Remember the one time that Marionette almost didn’t sign up for the Gym Challenge?"

"I was 10, okay," Marionette laughs as she wipes tears of laughter away from her eyes. "I was busy catching Pokemon and time past faster than I expected!"

"Please, if I didn't save you, you wouldn't have made it on time to sign up," Nessa retorts as her laughter dies down. Nessa frowned slightly as she remembered something. “How did that date with Raihan go?”

“I told you that it didn’t work out,” Marionette says with a shrug as she takes a sip of her coffee. The faux blond female didn’t understand why Nessa and Sonia were so caught up with her love life. “Besides, both of us were busy at the time, him with the gym, training his trainers and modeling and me with training Allister, the gym and modeling.”

“Allister is old enough to be your kid, Mari,” Sonia sarcastically counters as the three of them entered a shop that catered to all fashion choices and body shapes. Although Sonia had a point, both Nessa and Sonia knew that Marionette would respond with that Allister wasn’t her kid. “And we know that he isn’t, but still, Allister looks a lot like you.”

“No, he doesn’t,” Marionette counters as she goes to the darker side of the shop, signifying the end of the conversation. Nessa gave Sonia a strange look as the two of them went to the lighter side.

“What was that about?” Nessa quietly asks as she begins thumbing through clothes that could be of interest. “I thought she told you already.”

“Tell me what?” Sonia hums, copying Nessa’s action of thumbing through clothes. She couldn’t help but feel confused. Sonia thought that Marionette trusts her enough by telling her anything and everything.

“She adopted Allister four years ago.”

“Really?”

“Really,” says Nessa as she began piling clothes over her arm for her to try on. Sonia had a larger pile compared to Nessa, as the ginger had begun collecting clothes seconds prior. Nessa had genuinely thought that Sonia knew about the adoption. “She didn’t tell you?”

“No, she didn’t,” Sonia says with a sigh as she looked over at her friend of 15 years wandering around and looking at clothes. The faux blond female had a smaller pile of clothes compared to Nessa and Sonia. “I thought she trusted me enough to tell me she adopted a kid.”

“It’s not that she doesn’t trust you,” Nessa tells her friend with a sad look. The dark skinned female hated the hold that Chairman Rose had over her and the others. Maybe Marionette was smart enough to get out while she could. “She couldn’t tell you because Rose told her she couldn’t tell anyone outside of Leon and the Gym Leaders.”

“You're telling me that Leon knew she adopted a kid?” Sonia asks as she turns to Nessa, a look of hurt and irritation on the Professor’s assistant’s face. “And he didn’t bother to tell me?”

“He wanted to,” came Marionette’s voice as she crossed the store to join the two females. “But he couldn’t because Rose threatened Leon if he did. Now drop it, Sonia.”

“Shit, I thought we were talking quietly enough for you to not hear us,” Nessa says quietly as guilt crossed her face and filled her up on the inside. She knew that Marionette hates it when people talked about her behind her back, but Nessa did it without a second thought. Nessa was one of the few Gym Leaders that had befriended Marionette long before they became Gym Leaders, not because of the faux blond’s looks, simply because she was hard to approach in general.

“It’s fine,” Marionette sighs as she adjusted the pile of clothing in her arms. Her Banette had since then taken comfort on top of her head, nearly asleep. Banette let out a small cry of complaint at the sudden jolt of movement. Marionette couldn’t help but notice the look of betrayal on Sonia’s face, making the faux blond feel bad. “I’ll buy any clothes you end up deciding on, Sonia.”

“Will you?” Sonia asks with a fake look of suspicion on her face. She knew Marionette felt bad, as the ex-Gym Leader pulled this stunt in the past whenever she had to cancel plans.

“I’ll buy you that stupid sweet that you like,” Marionette hums as she gave the ginger a soft smile. However, the buying of a sweet didn’t satisfy Sonia, and Nessa knew this from a mile away.

“I want you to go on a date with Piers,” Sonia states with a fox-like grin as she watched the smile fall from Marionette’s face. Marionette let out a groan at this but agreed nonetheless.

As the women shopped, the men remained in the coffee shop to catch up. They talk about various things, but the topic of Marionette always comes up one way or another. Raihan and Leon would tell Piers what she was like to how well she battled. All of this confuses the Dark type Gym Leader as he never had seen her battle.

“Is she that skilled of a battler?” Piers asks as he sips on his third cup of coffee. Piers knew that he wouldn’t be getting much sleep that night with the growing consumption of caffeine, but he found himself not caring at that moment. 

“She is,” Raihan says as he pulled out his phone, a sign that the Dragon Tamer was growing bored. “She beat me, which is saying something. She almost beat Leon.”

“She gave up,” Leon corrects Raihan as Piers gives him a look of curiosity and slight confusion. Gave up? While Piers knew that Leon was unbeatable, but for someone as small and strange as Marionette to almost beat Leon was insane; Piers found it hard to believe. "To this day, I still don't know why she gave up."

"Maybe because she realized that being the champion wasn't for her?" Piers hums as he places his partly empty cup of coffee on the table. "Not everyone is the picture perfect candidate of the champion title."

The comment was a low jab, yes, but Piers knew it had to be said. Leon was always the optimist, and that was an admirable quality to have. Yet, Piers knew that being realistic was always the best way of thinking when it came to Leon's positive and bright personality and way of thinking.

"Do you really think that?" Leon asks, his index finger circling the lid of the coffee cup. One of Leon's nervous ticks, Piers notes, when the purple haired champion was thinking about something depressing.

"What Piers is trying to say is that Marionette wanted you to be happy, is all," Raihan says, kicking the rockstar's shin from under the table. Piers let out a low string of curses as he gingerly rubs his shin, causing Leon to chuckle slightly. "Besides, why be hung up on something depressing when Piers has a date next week."

To start things off, this verse was a spur of the moment type thing when I had used it on Otoya’s original blog to RP with a friend’s Silver (Part Game, but mostly Pkmn Special interpretation). He basically the only one with some info to him. Otherwise, only teams and where the characters are from is available at the moment.

An important note: the tag used for this verse is the same one I use for the Pokemon Verse on my B-Project Multimuse Blog. Meaning both the blogs and respective Pokemon Verses are connected to each other. As information from their verse will be showing up in this one. Kira’s Pokemon Verse is also connected to this despite using a different tag.

ALSO, muses won’t be their canon ages AT ALL for this verse. Ages will greatly vary to some degree.

Verse Notes

With an exception to a few, not all of the muses involved in this verse will retain their idol status. As for who is what in this verse here a short rundown.

Tokiya, Cecil, and Camus are idols signed on with Daikoku Production and Brave Entertainment respectively.

Van and Ren are both models and actors signed on with Brave Entertainment. Both of them tend to get along at times at other times Van is just getting on Ren’s nerves. Ironically both of them participate in Pokemon Contests.

Otoya is a Musician he signed on with mysterious agency many tend to forget the name of. He enjoys Pokemon Battles as much as his Pokemon. He on a journey to find someone, but who?

Nagi is a Famous Musician known throughout at two regions his home region and Kalos. He doesn’t see himself as much as a battler but his Pokemon despite their cuteness can pack a punch.

Eiji is a simple florist living in Floaroma Town and slowly becoming known for his beautiful flower arrangements.

Ryuya, Yamato, and Syo are well known big shots in the Pokeathlon World. When their names are mention they immediately draw in a crowd. The three specialize in using Fighting Type Pokemon and Fighting Type moves.

Shion is a Psychic living a peaceful life. There nothing remotely special about them aside from being able to communicate with the dead.

Haruka is a Pokemon Coordinator known for her cuteness and charm. Which she doesn’t get as she and her Pokemon simply participate in contests for fun not for the fame and glory.

Home Town: Viridian City, Kanto

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Musician

Pokemon Team: Vulpix (Nickname: Kotomi), Arcanine (Nickname: Crimson), Zorua (Nickname: Mitsui), Swellow (Nickname: Dante), and Dedenne (Nickname: DeeDee)

Background: Otoya was kidnapped from the orphanage at a young age by a Mask of Ice cohort. Luckily he was saved by a young Silver who had taken his place. Left and forgotten in Viridian Forest Otoya had trouble finding his way back, but ended up in Pewter City instead. As he grew older and started his own journey he searched high and low for his friend. Somewhere along the way he became a musician and signed on with an agency hoping his music would reach his friend somehow.

Notes: Kotomi and Shining aren’t Otoya’s parents in this verse. His parents are actually unknown and it a mystery to why he was left in the care of an orphanage in Viridian City.

Home Town: Castelia City, Unova

Age: 21

Trainer Class: Idol

Pokemon Team: Empoleon (nickname: Arthur), Dewgong, Frillish, Cinccino, and Ivysaur

Background: His father had walked out on him and his mother at a very age. Though, he was too young at the time to even retain any memories of him so he was okay with this. His mother supported his dream and encouraged him to reach for the stars when he told her he wanted to become an idol. After much struggling and dealing with those who didn’t want him to succeed. Tokiya debuted with Daikoku Production under the alias HAYATO. An alias he had chosen for himself.

Note: He had received Empoleon as a Piplup when he was five as a birthday present from his mom. The only difference between Tokiya and his appearance as HAYATO is that he styles his bangs to the right instead of the left.

Home Town: Lumiose City, Kalos

Age: 26

Trainer Class: Actor

Pokemon Team: Ninetales (Nickname: Sofia), Rapidash, Delphox, Baile Oricorio, and Milotic

Background: The youngest of three children, Ren grew up being loved by his mother, Renge, who love and encouraged him to follow his dreams. He dreamed of becoming a model just like his mother seeing how much she loved and enjoyed it. His father not exactly so amused with this as he wanted Ren to take a more active role in the family business. Which Ren showed absolutely no interest in. Ren debuted as model when he was twelve and eventually picked up acting and debuted once again when he was fifteen or so.

Note: Vulpix was the first Pokemon he received when he was young from his mother as a child. Vulpix was still in her egg when he received her and she had hatched on his birthday. In this verse the Jinguji just doesn’t deal with finances but also owns a number of hotel chains throughout different regions. The Enjouji’s (Renge’s family) owns a number of casinos and resorts.

Home Town: Goldenrod City, Johto

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Pokémon Ranger

Pokemon Team: Hitmontop, Stufful, Machoke, Medicam, Lucario, and Monferno

Background:  Once upon a time Syo had dreamed about becoming a Pokemon Ranger. That had instantly changed the moment he had seen Ryuya and Yamato competing in the Pokeathlon on TV. He had become quite mesmerized by their manliness and the strength of their Pokemon that his dream had changed. Wanting to compete against and and stand on the same stage as them. He worked effortless to achieve that dream and started by becoming a trainer and taking on the gym leaders and the Elite Four of his home region before moving on elsewhere.

Notes: For this verse Syo was not born with a (mysterious) heart condition and is 100% healthy.

Home Town: Malie City, Ula’ula Island, Alola

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Idol

Pokemon Team: Persian, Glameow, Liepard, Comfey, and Floette

Background: Cecil is a descendant from the Alolan Royal Family that was long ago destroyed. Though, not many are aware of this as people are only aware of Acerola being the last remaining descendant of the Royal Family. Cecil himself isn’t even aware of this fact. The Aijima’s practiced magic and Cecil had taken to it rather quickly as a child surprising his parents. He was quite skilled and a certain mastery over magic using music.

Note: A Meowth coming from the Kanto Region was gifted to him a kind elderly woman he had helped find her way around Malie City. 

Home Town: Nimbasa City, Unova

Age: 17

Trainer Class: Musician

Pokemon Team: Jigglypuff, Dedenne, Salazzle, Puplup, Cherrim, and Beautifly

Background: Nagi is a famous musician known for the music he makes on the viola. He had debuted at a young age much to his parents’ dismay. They wanted him to be able to experience the wonders and magic of being a child. After seeing how happy Nagi was they relented and let their baby dazzle the world with his music and most importantly cuteness. Nagi is thankful that his parents had allowed him to do so and thanks them every chance he get.

Notes: Nagi had bonded quickly with Jigglypuff when she was a lost Igglybuff that had wandered into the Mikado’s property one day. Nagi tends to participate in some Pokemon Contests when he has the time. Only really participating the Cute category more than anything else. On the off chance he might do the Cool category.

Home Town: Floaroma Town, Sinnoh

Age: 21

Trainer Class: Gardener

Pokemon Team: Shaymin, Ivysaur, Ludicolo, Roserade, Troupius, and Leafeon

Background: A florists living in Floaroma Town, Eiji has started to gain some recognition for the beautiful flower arrangements he creates for his customers. He is kind-hearted and caring for his friends family, but that switch can instantly be flipped if you threaten anyone close to him. From time to time Eiji does travel about the Sinnoh Region and sometimes to other regions researching different types of plants and flowers. Occasionally sending some flowers back home to his mother and wine to his dad. 

Notes: Eiji’s parents are Raging and Katsumi Otori. Eiichi become a famous idol in a different region since leaving home eight years ago.

Home Town: Santalune City, Kalos

Age: 27

Trainer Class: Actor

Pokemon Team: Sylveon, Houndoom, Cinccino, Audino, Wigglytuff, and Altaria

Background: His straight forward and charming personality easily made Van a hit with the ladies (and guys) putting it to use he had become a model at the age of eleven. Thanks to his mother who was also in that line of work and trained (torture according to Van) him. On top of that he pulled double-duty when he debuted as an actor at the age of seventeen. He would have debuted earlier, but it took some convincing from his boss to do so. Van considers himself to be a lover and not a fighter, which is something he constantly jokes about when he really both.

Notes: Van is aware of how protective his Sylveon is of him and find it amusing, as she tend to act like a tsundere when he present. When he leaves the room the Sylveon typically tends to kick the ass of those who dare insult Van in her presence. Then proceeds to pull the innocent act when he returns. Ironically or not, his Houndoom is the only male Pokemon on his team.

Home Town: Heahea City, Akala Island, Alola

Age:  25

Trainer Class: Pokémon Ranger

Pokemon Team: Kommo-o, Mega Lopunny, Pancham, Hawlucha, Monferno, and Mimikyu

Background: Yamato is a trainer with a very competitive spirit and is always rearing to go with way too much energy that can easily tire someone out if they’re not use to it. Yamato and his elder brother Ryuya form a sort of duo when it come to competing in Pokéathlon when they’re individual events and not team events. It whatever to Yamato though. He prefers battles of the Battle Royal Dome. Though, half the time he has to be dragged away by Ryuya when he get too carried away.

Notes: Yamato had taken the Island Challenge way before Professor Kukui had Alola’s Pokemon League established. He had taken the Island Challenge when he was twelve. Yamato’s overall relationship with Ryuya is leagues better than in canon. He doesn’t get into constant arguments with him. When not participating in battles at the Battle Royale Dome or Pokémon Triathlon in the Johto Region. Yamato persists in his duty as a Pokémon Ranger. Though, he is one of few Rangers in the Alola Region so his work is cut out for him. Yamato has two younger brothers after him those brothers being Touma and Makato.

Home Town: Ecurteak City, Johto

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Psychic

Pokemon Team: Espeon (Nickname: Hecate), Cleffa, Starmie, Espurr, and Lunatone

Background: Shion was born a gifted psychic able to communicate with the decease and levitate items (and on occasion people though that’s pretty rare). Though, their abilities tend to take a lot out of them and will fall asleep soon after. Shion left home at the age of fifteen, when they could have left earlier than that. Due to their parents’ protectiveness of them Shion wasn’t able to start like the other kids their age.

Notes: Eevee was Shion’s first Pokémon they nicknamed Hecate. Espurr was a gift from their Uncle when he had gone to the Kalos Region on a business trip. The Espurr had reminded their uncle of them and thus caught the Pokémon and brought it back.

Home Town: Snowpoint City, Sinnoh

Age: 23

Trainer Class: Idol

Pokemon Team: Alolan Ninetales (Nickname: Victoria), Nidoqueen, Dewgong, Primarina (Nickname: Anastasia), Altaria (Nickname: Nephele), and Dragonair

Background: Camus is a descendant of AZ. A thousand years ago his family had relocated from the Kalos Region to the Sinnoh Region hoping for a new start. They had relocated to Snowpoint City instantly drawn to its beauty and cold weather and settled there for generations to come.

Notes: Among those in his family, Camus is the only one who was born with the ability to use magic. It taken him time and patience to polish and perfect his magic. Camus had befriended an Alolan Vuplix when his family had gone on vacation to Alola region. he bestowed the nickname Victoria upon the Alolan Vulpix.  Somewhere along the line Camus had shown interest in becoming an idol, but how and when that happened is still a mystery even to his family. His Pokémon know how it started though.

Home Town: Heahea City, Akala Island, Alola

Age: 32

Trainer Class: Actor

Pokemon Team: Primeape, Medicham, Infernape, Hakamo-o, and Chatot

Background: Ryuya is the oldest of four children and look after all of them when their parents were busy with their respective careers. To a point he basically raised all of them with Yamato’s help. Who he has a great relationship with despite the ridiculous arguments they get into from time to time. It took some persuasion from Yamato that he could take care of Touma and Makoto for Ryuya to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor. It literally took Yamato kicking his ass for him to take that finally leap. Ryuya debuted when he was twenty-two and continues to put out A+++ material for the movies and dramas he is cast in. He is greatly known for his work in the Prince of Fighter series.

Notes: Ryuya participates in Pokéathlons along side Yamato from time to time. Both of them becoming a duo of sorts when appearing together. He typically has to drag Yamato out of the Battle Royale Dome when the younger goes overboard with things.

Home Town: Lilycove City, Hoenn

Age: 19

Trainer Class: Pokémon Coordinator 

Pokemon Team: Jigglypuff, Sylveon, Beautifly, Wartortle, Taillow, and Meloetta

Background: Haruka grew up around Pokémon Contests for a majority of her life. Her interests in it had caught the attention of her mother who immediately took her bubbly daughter under her wing and trained her. Haruka took to it like a Goldeen to water and was able to come up with amazing combinations at a young age. Haruka was able to start her own journey at the age of twelve. Somewhere along the way she developed a talent for composing music and uses it in Pokémon Contests when competing. Playing the pieces she composes on a flute.

Notes: Jigglypuff was the first Pokémon Haruka had ever befriended when she was five. Different agencies have tried to hire Haruka as a composer, but have failed in the process in doing so. So far the only one who have come close have been Daikoku Product and Brave Entertainment. Haruka prefers the great outdoors compared to being cooped up inside. Please, don’t let her climb trees. She will only get stuck in them and wait for someone to help her down. Meloetta has been an interesting addition to her party. When traveling in the Unova Region, she had come across the injured Meloetta and helped it back to health over the course of a few days. Meloetta had taken an interest in Haruka and immediately joined her party. Haruka been stuck with the Mythical Pokémon ever since.

(A little bit more thought on how his life was before turning out like he does later on, mostly based on my own interpretation along hcs after mulling over it a bit.)

In early childhood years around ages of 3-9 were a confusing time for Silver, why it was to he how he acted like how he felt which made him very self conscious of how he acted after numerous teasing and sometimes fights with other children. Most of the young children didn't know how to deal with his choice of dressing up like a boy, girls would pick on him for his girly looks while boys tended to pick fights which got Silver riled up and wrestle with them till the fight was broken up.

Silver would have a few bruises and at times cuts from being shoved into the wood chips at the playground, his mother decided to take the young red head out of school at this time as did his father who given the children a slight scare due to a glare he gave them when picking his son up on the last day of school before homeschooling the boy. Silver felt more comfortable at home which was fine with his mother who taken up in being a teacher to him, Silver did take a liking to various puzzles his father got him may it be a book or some sort of toy much to the little boy's delight.

At the age of 4 one can say Silver's happy home life of schooling took a bad turn when his mother's health declined slowly over time when given birth to him, blinking away tears when holding his mother's hand while sitting there with her and getting a final pat and hair ruffle from her. Listening to her words of 'To be yourself, that you are special.' after hearing that he took that to heart and ingrained that into his memory, times after this were more rough due to his father becoming very distant and can't helping in being angry of his son.

Silver resembled his father's late wife both in appearance as well in that softness underneath that roughness about him, leading to frequent fighting between the two till one day after Silver's 9th birthday his father decided to go off after losses against two trainers as well his group being tarnished and leading to the disbandment at that moment in time. On being left behind in such a manner Silver couldn't really bring himself to open up with anyone on a close level like he did as child, with Sneasel who he gotten as a very first birthday gift when his mother was still alive the pair made their way about the Johto region.

Life during wandering at this age was difficult but Silver managed to say out of trouble except when cornered by thugs at times when stealing from them, that soft boy turned hard over time along with being wary as well being mistrustful of people due his own way of analyzing them before deciding trusting them. When Silver became 12 he had the idea of becoming a trainer and making his own path to get stronger, on coming across the New Bark Town after reading up on that's where starting out trainers will receive their beginning Pokemon. Silver spent time in plotting a way to get one for himself which turned out to be successful but the only bad side of it was he ended up getting glimpsed at by someone on leaving the Lab thus leading to many events that slowly unfolded afterwards from this.

honestly i love hearing ur headcanons and tidbits about champion alan and how he goes about his duties with the other champs n stuff. since he's such a reserved guy how do you reckon he bonds with the other champions when they're all together doing work n stuff? like he already is on good terms with steven and ash, yes, but what about the others. i like trying to imagine these dynamics dont mind me

I, too, love imagining these dynamics, so I will absolutely mind you in the sense that I will happily engage in this discussion, thank you for asking. :D

Anyway, as you said, Alan is already on good terms with Ash and Steven from the get-go, even before he becomes Champion. Honestly, Ash is probably his best human friend; I know some people might want to protest about Manon, but Manon is his little sister, not his best friend—there’s a difference in the type of relationship dynamic there. The bond between Alan and Ash was pretty much immediate from the time they met, and Ash is the only human whose company we’ve seen Alan seek out just because he knew that spending time (and battling) with Ash would make him happy (and it did, to the point where Manon herself thinks “I’ve never seen Alan smile like that” when she sees how he smiles at Ash during their battle, and to the point where Alan thanks Ash three separate times during that battle for letting him feel such happiness). With that being the case, I feel confident in saying that Ash is his best human friend.

With that said, yeah, Alan is closest to Ash out of all the other Champions, and probably closest to Steven after that. As such, whenever it comes to fun (but important!) partnerships and things that happen between the regions, Alan usually partners with one of them first. For instance, in that Champion Messenger post, Alan brings up a tournament agreement to Steven. That tournament is a tournament that is going to be held between Kalos and Hoenn, League-style. It’s not an official League—the winners don’t get Champion challenges—but anyone can participate so long as they qualify for at least one of the regional Leagues, and the tournament ends in a double battle against Steven and Alan both. (RIP to whoever faces them, tbh.) The idea is to foster more unity between Kalos and Hoenn, and the other Champions are carrying it out between their regions as well. Ash and Iris are doing one for Kanto and Unova, Hau and Casey are doing one for Alola and Johto, and so on and so forth. (The next ones will be Steven and Cynthia for Hoenn and Sinnoh, Ash and Alan for Kanto and Kalos, Casey and Iris for Johto and Unova, and on like that until all the regions team up at some point.) 

But even though that’s the case, he’s still on good terms with all the others! Part of it might be due to the fact that Ash already knew everyone else and thus could introduce Alan if necessary, and part of it might also be due to any big international meetings between the Champions (and one of their most trusted Elite) that take place. However, I think those meetings are probably rarer; they typically only need all of them to come together in the event of an international crisis, which I would hope wouldn’t happen too frequently. (Though I have a story idea for one that does, but that’s another story for another time. ;D) So what really helps, I think, is that Champion Messenger that Steven develops so that they all have a fast and (most importantly) secure way to communicate in case they need to. It is supposed to be for work; the idea is that it’s a private messenger that only they (not even their Elite!) know about and have access to, which means that it’s a much, much more secure method than e-mail or phone calls to pass information between them. Additionally, it’s instant and accessible via whatever mobile device they have, which means that they don’t have to worry about massive time delays, either. So it honestly was developed for responsible, serious reasons, and it was supposed to be for work … but, as that post shows, a lot of shenanigans happen as well. And the thing is, when you’re in a messenger room with six other people, it’s rather easy to get to know and bond with them in a way that doesn’t infringe on your own personal comfort or boundaries or anything like that. Provided it’s just shenanigans, Alan can always just sign out of the messenger for a while and go do something else if he wants. It’s perfect for an introvert like him. So with that in mind, even setting aside official business, the messenger has really helped foster his relationships with the rest of the Champions as well. I like to imagine that they really are a #squad.

So with that said, a bit more in-depth?

Ash: 

As I said, Ash is Alan’s best human friend. He’s someone that we’ve seen in canon that Alan feels comfortable confiding in, someone he feels comfortable relying on, someone who has helped Alan in the darkest times in his life. And you can trust me when I say that this bond does not diminish as they grow older. Rather, it grows stronger. Not only are Alan and Ash always more than ready to help each other out, team up, and rely on each other in times of crisis, but they enjoy spending time with and talking to each other as well. I like to think that they began exchanging letters pretty regularly after Ash left Kalos to return to Kanto (and then went on to Unova), and once Ash finally upgrades his life and gets a mobile device, they exchange numbers to keep in touch through calls and text messages as well (and of course the Champion Messenger, but that has everyone in it). They do eventually cash in on their promise to battle again someday years later at the Charicific Valley, but Ash immediately makes Alan promise to battle him again at a later date. (Alan’s doing much better by that point, and Ash can tell, and that’s why he allowed the battle to happen—but still. Better safe than sorry.) 

There’s not too much more to say here that isn’t immediately obvious, but the last thing I’ll add is that while it’s obvious that Ash is Alan’s best human friend, rest assured that Alan is one of Ash’s best human friends as well. I mean, to be honest, Ash has about six thousand people he’d call his best friend (well, not that many, but it’s a lot considering all the traveling companions and now classmates he has had in his life), but the special bond they have is definitely felt on Ash’s side as well. (I imagine that Alan meets Gary at some point and the two hit it off, and this makes Ash feel some kind of way, because even though his relationship with Gary improves drastically over the course of the OS, as we see in DP he can still get rather fired up over Gary sometimes, because old rivalries die hard. He starts feeling jealous over Alan because of a bit of insecurity he has over the fact that Alan and Gary can talk about scientific research things / bond over growing up homes that are half house, half lab, and that’s not a thing he can really share with Alan, and … well. Just trust me when I say that this best friendship goes both ways. They’re both immensely important to each other.)

Casey:

Casey is probably the fellow Champion that … well, one of the fellow Champions that Alan has the weakest bond with (there are two), simply because they don’t have very much in common. He likes Casey all right; their personalities aren’t incompatible or anything, particularly since there are times when Casey reminds him of both Ash and Manon are equal measure. But their interests are at very opposite ends of the scale, generally. Casey’s primary interest outside of battling is baseball (and specifically the Electabuzz team), and Alan just … doesn’t care about baseball, honestly, haha. He has pretty much no interest in that whatsoever. Casey doesn’t see how this is possible—how could someone not realize how amazing baseball (and especially the Electabuzz, despite how Ash’s horrible (in Casey’s opinion) taste in teams makes him blaspheme and say otherwise) is?! But Alan’s just not very interested, and likewise Casey doesn’t tend to be very interested in the books or research that captures Alan’s interest. As such, they don’t often have too many shared interests to talk about, even though they still get along well enough in the Messenger / when they’re working on official business.

All of that said, for her birthday one year Alan gives her Beedrillite so that she can mega evolve her beedrill. To say that she’s thrilled is an understatement.

Steven:

Like with Ash, we already know a lot about Alan’s relationship with Steven. To be honest, the two bicker-banter back and forth at least half the time, given how snarky and sassy they can both be—but it’s all in good humor, never serious. It’s just how they communicate / have fun with each other. Their relationship, as we know, was forged in the midst of TSME, when Steven witnessed firsthand what Lysandre was doing to Alan and then almost immediately tattled on Lysandre to Alan’s father. We see throughout TSME just how much Steven cares about him (and how gleeful he is to enact vengeance for him once the Flare arc hits—Steven went to the Fleur-De-Lis labs to attack people and he had such a good time), and that is part of what motivates Steven to encourage Alan to take the Champion challenge in the first place (despite how Steven truly likes Diantha a whole lot as well—they become good friends in my headcanon, #fashion buddies). I say “part” because Steven does earnestly believe everything he says. He genuinely believes that Alan would be an excellent Champion. But he also cares about Alan and wants him to do well and be okay, and in the Champion Messenger post I made, his little press of “just fine?” was actually his way of checking on Alan, versus continuing to rib him as he had before (“Not now, we’re discussing the merits of malasada cannibalism”). There’s a lot of care under all the teasing, just as Alan truly does care about and appreciate Steven under all the snark he tosses right back.

(That said, they do sometimes have escalating prank wars, which are usually instigated by Steven, and most often by Alan being teased about the big ol’ crush Steven has on Sycamore. Like, Steven is in a happy monogamous relationship with Wallace, and he knows that Sycamore is with Meyer, and so obviously it’s not going anywhere, but I felt some chemistry between them in the anime, and in my brain that translated into Steven thinking Sycamore is damn fine. So Steven will see fit to troll Alan about this sometimes, by asking him if Sycamore is single yet or mentioning about how Sycamore is a DILF (and how he wouldn’t mind being Alan’s stepdad, it’s not like they can’t both still work together as Champions et cetera), and of course Alan isn’t going to just take that lying down, so he finds some other way to strike back at him. Like, for instance, playing a game of telephone with Manon and her friends, which ends in Manon presenting Steven with a nice stone as a going-away present, at which point she announces to the entire airport that it’s because she heard about how much pleasure his rock fetish brings him and though that he’d be even more pleased than usual if he had a new rock for his fetish. This happens when Manon is still ten, and so honestly she has no idea what a fetish is, particularly since she heard about this from Bonnie, who heard about it from Serena, who heard about it from Shauna, who heard about it from Tierno and Trevor, who heard about it from Ash, who came up with the interpretation that “fetish” is just “cool thing I like a lot” because although he heard about this from Alan, Alan didn’t explain to him what that word meant. So then Steven has to stand there, kind of mortified, with Diantha, Sycamore, Bonnie, Manon, and a smirking Alan all watching him, and all he knows is that even though Manon says that she and Bonnie came up with the idea (and that Bonnie says it was Serena and Shauna that helped them), Alan has to be behind this somehow and Steven will get him back.

So sometimes they have escalating prank wars like that. It’s all in good fun, though. ;) )

Cynthia:

Once Alan and Cynthia hit it off, they end up getting along very well. To begin with, Cynthia kind of has a Cool Big Sis thing going on; she’s a very, sincerely nice person who cares about those around her, and likes to guide and offer advice to those around her when the situation arises. This is particularly true with those she can see a bit of herself in, and I think she would with Alan. In the anime, Cynthia mentions at one point that she always aimed to be the strongest when she was younger, and in the games, Cynthia’s entire team has perfect IVs and significant EV training. Cynthia takes training quite seriously and loves battling, and these are two things that she absolutely has in common with Alan. So I think that Cynthia would pick up on that, and would be interested and talking more with him, particularly when she learns that he was raised by Professor Sycamore and is a scholar like her …

… and that’s when they’d hit it off, because they’re both massive nerds. 

While Alan’s research into mega evolution tends to seem more scientific, it’s important to remember that his search for Key Stones and Mega Stones took him to a ton of ruins, and that he and Sycamore also spend a lot of time poring over ancient tablets and examining ancient scripts, et cetera. Meanwhile, Cynthia’s secondary job is as a researcher / archaeologist / myth/legend hunter. She, too, spends so much time spelunking in ruins, going over ancient texts, writing books about the various myths and legends about the world. There’s no way their research wouldn’t overlap at times, to the point where I’m sure there have been multiple times in the Champion Messenger where one of them brings up a new discovery and the two of them end up dominating the messenger nerding out about it until someone complains. So really, they have a ton in common and have a good relationship. They’re both Cool Older Sibling types to those around them (Cool Big Bro, Cool Big Sis), they’re both nerds with similar nerdy interests, and they both love battling and take training very seriously. The only additional thing to note about their dynamic is that Cynthia is decently older than Alan (I’d say she’s in her mid-to-late 20s), so she ends up being like a Cool Big Sis to him, at least from time to time. It’s a good relationship.

Iris:

Iris and Alan also get along pretty well! While Iris can be pretty energetic sometimes, she can also be pretty savvy and knows when to tone it down a notch (I mean, remember, she was the one always teasing Cilan about being a pain because of how Extra™ he is), so I don’t think that would cause many problems. Aside from that, once again, I think that Iris and Alan would find some pretty good common ground between them. They both love and have an affinity for dragons (Iris’ face when Alan tells her that charizard, in addition to being a dragon by species, can be a dragon-type when it mega evolves into its X form, after the brief Discourse™ she had with Ash about that very typing in BW); they were both orphaned at a young age and originally come from a far out village in the woods (though Iris’ time in the Dragon Village was far better than Alan’s time in Isolé); they’re both happily adopted, even if unofficially for a time (or at least Iris is in the games—I think Drayden also looks after her to an extent in the anime?); they both have a tendency to be rather blunt and honest (even if Iris actually voices her thoughts more than Alan does); they’ve both had difficulties socializing in the past (though they’re getting better!), and so on and so forth. (They’re also both unjustly despised by the vast majority of the fandom, but hEY …)

 I actually like to imagine that these two meet prior to either of them becoming Champions of their respective regions, and I really want to write this fic at some point. My thought is, well, the PokéAni writers denied Iris her cameo in Kalos, so what if I write one for her post-series? I’m still deciding on things, but my basic idea is that she ends up traveling to Kalos after her time in Hoenn, and runs into Alan in Lumiose City. They get to talking for some reason or another—it’s possible that Iris sees Lizardon and gets super excited over how cute he is (and let’s be honest, he’s adorable), or maybe Alan is out with both Lizardon and Gabrielle and, well, Iris can’t resist saying hi to even one dragon, much less two. So they get to talking, Alan tells Iris about how charizard can be dragon-types whey they mega evolve with Charizardite X (and Iris is all, “ooh, that kid! I should have known he didn’t have all the facts!!” though she means it all in good fun—she’s still going to write Ash a letter in short order to give him a teasing what-for, though), and it’s a good time.

But then some conflict happens (as it always does in these specials), and these two have to solve it together. At some point Alan offers to give her a ride on Lizardon, but Iris is just like, “Nah, I’ve got this” and calls out her dragonite, which Alan is quite impressed by, and they go and kick ass together, and that’s a good time, too.

By the end of it, Alan has seen that Iris has a bagon, because she caught a shelgon while in Hoenn (because remember, she went there chasing Rayquaza—and when Iris goes on about how she chased Rayquaza there, but yet lost track of it and thus missed the huge event that happened off Rustboro Bay and she’s super disappointed about it, Alan gets real quiet and his eyes go distant and she wonders at what’s wrong, but he won’t tell her … only for her to remember later that waIT, HE WAS THAT GUY ON TV, WASN’T HE?? and that’s a whole thing). Back at the lab he has used the machine Sycamore has to deduce that one of the Mega Stones he has is Salamencite, and so he gives that to her, and their bond is forged #forever.

(And honestly, I really waffled over this, because Mega Salamence is Zinnia’s signature ‘mon, and I really do not like to double-up on signatures like that. However, Iris has to have a dragon to mega evolve, she has a salamence as Champion in the games, and while she does have a gible in the anime, Mega Garchomp is already shared between Sycamore and Cynthia. Garchomp needs a rest, we don’t need another Mega Garchomp. That said, I did debate on giving Iris Mega Altaria, but aside from that also doubling up in my mind (with an OC, but still), I feel that salamence fits her better, especially since she has one in the games. So Mega Salamence will be shared between Iris and Zinnia, and no one else, just as Sycamore and Cynthia are the only two with Mega Garchomp. It is Law™.)

But while that’s their first meeting, of course they get along really well as Champions, too. There’s also the possibility that Iris could end up dating Manon at some point, so hey—maybe Iris eventually becomes Alan’s sister-in-law. It could happen.

Hau:

Hau is the other Champion (along with Casey as mentioned before) that Alan has the weakest relationship with, although they do still get along all right. Just like with Casey, Alan doesn’t have very much in common with Hau. Their attitudes toward training are markedly different (Hau is skilled enough to be Champion, but even then, a lot of the muscle work is left to Elite Four member Gladion, to be entirely honest, due to how lackadasical Hau can be about training), and they don’t have a lot of shared interests in common. So while they can get along well enough in conversation, if it’s just the two of them the conversation is going to die off into silence pretty quickly. And that’s fine by Alan, he doesn’t mind silence, but it tends to make Hau feel a bit awkward, particularly since Alan is really hard to read for him. (A problem that neither Ash nor Iris experience, since Ash has been able to see straight through to Alan’s heart from day one, and, well … Iris is the girl who knows the hearts of dragons, so. ;D) That said, again, their relationship is far from bad, especially when Hau wants to make sure that Alan doesn’t dislike him and so he makes him sweet malasadas as a “peace offering” (Gladion thinks that Hau should not waste his time baking anything for Alan, because even if To Devour the Sun isn’t canon in the prime universe I still cannot fucking help but imagining Alan’s and Gladion’s relationship as it is in that fic, which means that Gladion is always tsuntsun toward Alan in the extreme), and Alan, given his massive sweet tooth, appreciates this immensely even though it really wasn’t necessary to begin with. So there is that, at least, even if the two still aren’t very close.

(I do imagine that a conversation like this happens in the messenger at one point, though:

HAU: “btw alan gladion told me to tell u to tell manon to stop hitting on lillie”

CASEY: “don’t U want manon to stop hitting on lillie? aren’t u 2 dating or engaged or smth?”

HAU: “ya but i dont mind, lillie-bean would never cheat on me lol”

IRIS: “‘Lillie-bean’???”

ALAN: “Tell Gladion he can tell Manon himself. I’m not involved.”

CASEY: “omfg”

ALAN: “She doesn’t listen when I tell her not to do things anyway, so it isn’t like it’d do any good.”

HAU: “ok will do lol”

IRIS: “u gave up easily���

HAU: “like i said, i dont care either way”

HAU: “besides, alan is going to be the one getting all the angry messages from gladion lol so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

CASEY: “srsly????”

ALAN: “Yeah. I’m used to it by now. I have a filter on his messages anyway, so I don’t even see them until I specifically go check, whenever I remember to.”

HAU: “LOL”

Note: Gladion does not know about the messenger, but he finds out that Hau is contact with Alan in some way (he figures e-mail) and that’s when / why he tells Hau to pass the message along.)

General:

As a few more notes about dynamics and interactions and such:

Alan, Ash, and Iris all end up going to that tournament in Oblivia that Ash mentioned in the Champion Messenger post together. Originally Hau was going to go with them, but something came up and he couldn’t. Regardless, Alan, Ash, and Iris all travel there together and have a fantastic time. In general, whenever the three travel / do something together, it’s generally a really good time. The fact that they’re all such good friends and get along so well certainly helps.

Alan has invited Cynthia to the lab in order to go over research things. Despite the fact that Alan is an older teenager, Cynthia is an adult, and they were going over ancient stone tablets and other research, this still (from an outsider’s perspective) does end up looking very much like a playdate. Sycamore joins them, and really it’s just a nice day / night of nerdy fun.

They also go spelunking in ancient ruins together sometimes.

Steven, on Diantha’s request, was the one who picked out what Alan wore to his Champion inauguration / induction ceremony. There is going to be a short fic about this.

I just realized that Hau and Alan do have something sort of in common, which is baking. Alan picks up baking as a hobby after the Flare arc, and at the very least Hau likes to bake malasadas. So on top of Hau baking Alan sweet malasadas, Hau ends up giving Alan the recipe and they can bond a little over that.

Alan does end up giving Ash a Key Stone and Charizardite Y (oh, and he obviously gave Key Stones to Casey and Iris as well). He’s just hooking everyone up with mega evolution, what a good mega evolutionist he is.

Alan likes to share pictures of Lizardon in the messenger. Iris loves this (CUTE DRAGON♥), and sometimes she’ll share pictures of her haxorus. So then Alan will show a picture of Lizardon and Gabrielle together, and Iris will share a picture of some of her other dragons, and they end up embarking on a Dragon Spam™ that only meets a combo breaker when Ash inserts a picture of Pikachu in the middle of it all.

Sometimes Alan asks Casey about the various ruins and such around Johto, but she honestly doesn’t know because history doesn’t interest her, and while he is disappointed at that, she’s disappointed that he doesn’t see what’s so great about the brand new baseball stadium that the Electabuzz got after they finally won a World Series—ALAN: “Why is it called the World Series if teams from Kanto and Johto are the only ones participating?”ASH: “ya ive always wondered that 2 lol”CASEY: “bc baseball is tHE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD”ASH: “not more important than catching pkmn :/”CASEY: “WAT IS WRONG W/ U 2?!?!?!”

Sometimes they all get together to have friendly battles (something Cynthia actually references in one of the games). They usually also turn these informal little tournaments into potlucks and it’s a good time (and yeah, their Elite—or at least certain members of their Elite—are of course invited).

You see my icon? So at one point that was Alan’s pic in the Champion Messenger, and Ash had a matching one where he, too, was wearing sunglasses. (The pictures might have even been taken on the same day, tbh—like maybe they were together when that happened.) Hau and Casey saw these pics, though they looked awesome, and took sunglasses selfies themselves to join in. Iris (good-naturedly!) teased a bit about this at first, but then joined in herself after some cajoling from Ash and Hau. Cynthia thought it all looked like good fun and so she joined in as well, and that just left Steven, who was convinced to join so he wouldn’t be the only one left out. And that was how they all ended up wearing sunglasses in their pics in the Champion Messenger for a time. Shenanigans. 

After Ash finally gets his growth spurt, he and Alan end up pretty close in height. This does lead to them swapping clothes (or at least Ash borrowing Alan’s clothes) as a battle strategy in the midst of a crisis at least once. (Because if Ash is wearing Alan’s clothes, and he’s flying on his charizard, then with his dark hair, who could tell the difference between them from way down on the ground? No one, that’s who. The enemy would be completely bamboozled.) 

But yeah, really, I just imagine them as a real #squad. They’re all good friends with each other (even if some bonds aren’t as strong as others), they’ve got each other’s backs, et cetera. They’re a real solid squad and even if the messenger is often filled with shenanigans, it does come in handy for serious business stuff as well.

Anyway, this might have been ten books longer than what you were hoping for, but! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I liked writing it! ♥

We RP as them on our sideblogs @glitch-generation and @thezzazzglitch. We also have a lot of other stuff there too, including originalshipping/namelessshipping, haudion, and moonlilyshipping/oceanflowershipping/lilluna. And there’s a couple OCs included, though we haven’t RPed them much. I don’t tag the specific ships in my tags, but I do have a page listing all the different threads we’ve done.

Our debut RP, Glitch in the System, has Silver come in with his father later. (This is set six years after gen 1 & three years after gen 2)

Reconciliation and Father and Son are mostly focused on Silver and Giovanni, though the former has Ethan visit Silver in the hospital briefly.

Happiest Birthday is Silver’s birthday. Ethan pops in, though we never really got to too many ‘happy’ parts... ^^;

The Trio has all three Ethan, Silver, and Lyra. They start their poly relationship in this thread.

In Illness, Silver gets sick and ends up getting Ethan sick as well when he comes over to visit. There’s plenty of angst in this one. >:3

The Great Alola Adventure bounces around between characters a lot, but the Johto babs have plenty of good moments. There’s also a fight between Ethan and Silver that ends up making Silver cry.

A Merry Little Christmas focuses mostly on Silver’s first Christmas back with his dad, though there’s some Originalshipping in there, too. Also, he and his dad were invited to have Christmas dinner over in New Bark Town with Ethan and Lyra’s families, but he refused b/c he’s paranoid that someone will recognize his father and turn him in to the police.

Then there’s the Runaway Found AU, where Giovanni comes back and finds Silver before he can get too far away from home. They move to Johto together, and by the end of the first thread, Silver meets Ethan. The second thread is set three years later, when all three kids start their Pokemon journeys.

There’s also some oneshots listed on my RP Threads page, too.

Some notes:

- There is no explicit sexual content on our blogs. Some small references to it, but no smut whatsoever. Strictly SFW.

- We have not had any kisses between the Johto kids yet (we should really fix that soon...)
