St Auxentius of Bithynia

Saint Auxentius, by origin a Syrian, served at the court of the emperor Theodosius the Younger (418-450). He was known as a virtuous, learned and wise man, and he was, moreover, a friend of many of the pious men of his era.

Distressed by worldly vanity, Saint Auxentius was ordained to the holy priesthood, and then received monastic tonsure. After this he went to Bithynia and found a solitary place on Mount Oxia, not far from Chalcedon, and there he began the life of a hermit (This mountain was afterwards called Mt. Auxentius). The place of the saint’s efforts was discovered by shepherds seeking their lost sheep. They told others about him, and people began to come to him for healing. Saint Auxentius healed many of the sick and the infirm in the name of the Lord.

In the year 451 Saint Auxentius was invited to the Fourth Ecumenical Council at Chalcedon, where he denounced the Eutychian and Nestorian heresies. Familiar with Holy Scripture and learned in theology, Saint Auxentius easily bested those opponents who disputed with him. After the end of the Council, Saint Auxentius returned to his solitary cell on the mountain. With his spiritual sight he saw the repose of Saint Simeon the Stylite (459) from a great distance.

Saint Auxentius died about the year 470, leaving behind him disciples and many monasteries in the region of Bithynia. He was buried in the Monastery of Saint Hypatius at Rufiananas, Syria.

The Worst Enemy of the Holy Spirit: the spirit of religion.

The Characteristics of the spirit of religion

Spirit of Religion Vs the Holy Spirit:

1. The spirit of religion is the worst enemy of the holy spirit because his work is to counterfeit the genuine conversion work of the holy spirit.

2. The spirit of religion is a spirit of error and misleading.

3. The spirit of religion hates biblical truth and the genuine ministry of the Holy Spirit.

4. The purpose of the spirit of religion is to seduce men into false religions or believe systems -Religion or Believe systems deployed by the wisdom of men without the anointing of the Holy Spirit-and ultimately separate them from God and bring them to hell fire.

5. The spirit of religion pushes men to accept mentally that there is a God, that Jesus is the savior, but prevent those men to summit their lives and heart to Jesus so that the Holy Spirit can regenerate them according to Ezequiel 36:25-27, John3.5, Titus3.5, 2CO5:17, etc.

6. A religious man-opposed to a genuinely born-again Christian- is someone who is given to religious activities ( Prayers, Fasting

, giving, etc.) without the experience of New Birth. He is a foolish virgin (Math25:1-13)and is not known by Jesus and will end up I hell despite the ‘religious commitment’.

7. People possessed with the spirit of religion sleep in church when preaching is going on.

8. Preachers with the spirit of religion are not anointed. Some are neither born again, nor baptized nor filled with the Holy Spirit.

9. People with the spirit of religion hate genuine children of God. They hate the anointed minsters of God and the hate anointed teachings. People with the spirit of religion are in all Christians communities.

10. The most pronounced evidence of so-called Christians with the spirit of religion is that they have “accepted Jesus” , but they still live in sins, they still fornicate, lie, hate, jealousy, backbite, etc. freely. They don’t feel guilt w

hen they watch pornography, masturbate, love the World and the things of the World.

11. If you are angry as you read this, you are possessed with the spirit of religion and you need deliverance.

Satan cherishes the spirit of religion. Thanks to the spirit of religion , many of the so-called Christians are separated to Christ and will end up in hell ( John2:23-25, Math7:21-23, Math25:1-13). It is the spirit of religion that pushed caien to kill his brother Abel. It is the spirit of religion that persecuted old testament prophets and kill them. It is the spirit of religion that was the fierce enemy of Jesus, the early church and the first Apostles, it is

the spirit of religion that kept the word of God captive during the CHURCH DARK AGE, it is the spirit of religion that fought the Reformers such as John Wycliffe, Jon Hus, Martin Luther, Calvin , etc. It is the spirit of religion that murder millions of Christians and fought the revivalist such as Charles Finney, Wesley, Kathryn Kulman, etc.

The spirit of religion is still deceiving masses, leading them through the large and spacious door of perdition.

If you must escape the trap of the spirit of religion, you need to identify the ministry of a man filled with the Holy Spirit. There is no two way about this, you must be under the anointing if you don’t want to spirit of religion to deceive you, kill you spiritually and send you to hell fire.

If you have the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit in you, you will love and share this for the Glory of Jesus Christ.
