all the little john and abigail moments in the epilogue make me 😭🥹 like them resting their heads together in bed, her climbing over him to make them coffee in the morning, john falling into a chair staring numbly at her letter after abigail leaves with jack, all of john’s diary entries while they’re gone where he keeps saying how much he misses her, him constantly calling her his wife even though she’s not, abigail and jack finally turning up at beecher’s hope and john dropping what he’s doing and clearly wanting to run to her but holding back because he doesn’t know where he stands, abigail throwing herself into his arms anyway, “it’s yours” “it’s ours”, “how many times do i have to bury you john marston”, john talking to sadie about how he wants to propose to abigail, the whole little date day in blackwater (the banter, the portrait, the movie), the proposal itself, abigail breaking down in tears when john insists on going after micah because she’s so terrified of losing him, her utter relief when he returns, john’s diary entry before the wedding where it just says “i’m getting married” in all caps, the little shot of their wedding in the credits, the final shot of them both on the hill at the edge of the ranch watching the sunrise, i’m 🥹😭🥹😭
