Public domain image from the National Gallery; digitally restored by me (removal of yellowed varnish using division blending layer)

I have tried to remain faithful to the original documentation while bringing back the full range of colors that the artist had intended. I had to assume the brightest part of the white cloud was intended to be pure white; this is all I could do digitally. Some people enjoy the aesthetic of a yellowed old damar varnish, but here we can see how the subtle blues and greens of this lake scene are brought to life by its removal.
