i woke up feeling gross as shit so im getting over that by writing

joe has found an easy solution when he needs hook to move.

[drabble]

When Joe first picked Hook up, it was in the ring. It was partially a hug, honestly, but he pulled Hook’s entire body with it without meaning to. Hook didn’t seem to mind, so he put him down as fast as he had picked him up when he was able to. He hadn’t thought anything of it at the time.

The next time Joe picked him up, Hook had his earbuds in, standing just in front of the door. Joe really didn’t want to push him, because then Hook would probably start whining about some unrelated nonsense he put together just to tell Joe that he’s mean, and Joe was too tired to argue with it. So instead of brute force, he just picked him up, moved him to the side, and entered.

Hook stared at him when he came back out. Joe raised an eyebrow, silently asking what are you gonna do about it?

Hook huffed and went back to his phone.

That’s what I thought, Joe smirked to himself.

Then, it was as if Hook liked to be in the way. At catering, in the hallway, hell, even waiting to go into the ring. And every single time Joe would pick him up, move him to the side, and that would be that.

On this particular day, Joe was extra annoyed at everything. There was no rhyme or reason to it, but everything was pissing him off.

So of course Hook had to be in the way of everything.

Joe wasn’t planning on using any of his strength for Hook’s nonsense, so the first few times he just lightly shoulder bumped him or squeezed by and went on his way.

At this point, Hook had to be doing it on purpose. There was no other reason as to why Hook was standing directly in front of his locker room, refusing to budge. Joe could even see that his earbuds weren’t in, so he knew Hook was listening when he told him to scram.

Usually when Joe picked up Hook, it was from behind or the front. And he put him down fast enough that he never really paid attention to what Hook’s facial expression was.

So when Joe unexpectedly picked him up bridal style, he wasn’t expecting to see anything but an emotionless expression like usual.

Instead, Hook is fucking grinning.

Joe stops and stares at him before he even thinks of putting him down. “Hook.”

Hook attempts (horribly) at looking surprised instead of giddy beyond belief. “Hm?”

“What the fuck are you doing?”

Hook takes a look at the ground, and then looks back at Joe. “Chillin’.”

“Have you been doing this on purpose?”

Hook shrugs.

“What is your problem?”

“You’re the one who started picking me up,” Hook insists.

“So you are doing this on purpose.”

Hook shrugs again.

Joe groans. “You are the worst person on this planet.”

Hook’s smile creeps back up on him. “Yet you’re still holding me.”

Joe has to restrain himself from tossing Hook into the wall. “Yeah, I’m looking for a place to drop you on your fucking head.”

Hook does what only could be described as giggling. Jesus fucking Christ. “You know, you should probably put me down now. People are beginning to stare,” he whispers.

Joe unceremoniously drops Hook to the side, hard enough that Hook nearly falls on his ass before his feet save him. “I don’t wanna see you anymore today. Go find someone else to bother.”

Hook just laughs.

“Fucking weirdo,” Joe tells himself, loud enough for Hook to hear, before entering his locker room.
