Rumors started swirling late last year that a Marilyn Monroe biopic was in the works however those whispers grew silent and no one heard much about the project for a while. Well, it appears that not only did it get filmed, “Marilyn” is set to premiere on April 10th. With an all-star line up of Penny Lane as our very own Marilyn, Ryan Price as Mr. President himself John F. Kennedy, Miles Lapointe as world-renowned playwright Arthur Miller, Carter Blue as the incomparable baseballer Joe DeMatteo and Winter Rose as the beautiful Joan Crawford, it���s sure to be a spectacle. However, critics are quick to wonder if casting a singer as the lead in such an important icon was the right choice. While Penny has made a name for herself starring in action movies, people are questioning whether or not she has the chops to fill such huge shoes. Yes, she did well in “A Star Is Born” but that role consisted of playing a musician and wasn’t really a stretch for someone who lives that life daily. Can she pull off such an iconic American icon? We’ll have to wait and see.
