Redbird alums Joe Murphy ’82 and Lori (Cavallini) Campione ’80 are coming to Washington, D.C.

Murphy and Campione received five-star treatment sharing a dressing room with performers like six-time Grammy Award-winner Dionne Warwick and award-winning actor, singer, songwriter, and producer Darren Criss.

“We were in the green room with these big-name celebrities, but before we knew it, they turned the tables on us and were asking us for selfies. We thought they were the rock stars but they thought we were,” said Campione.

After talking with Criss, the Glee alum offered to make a video for Murphy’s daughter, who is a huge fan. Then, the tables were turned on Murphy and Campione once again when they made a video from Santa and Mrs. Claus for Criss’ daughter. This friendship then led to Murphy and Campione being invited on stage at one of Criss’ concerts in the weeks following the tree lighting. It’s safe to say these two make an impact on everyone they meet.

Abbiamo portato alcuni dei massimi capolavori dei nostri musei sul palcoscenico più importante al mondo, accanto alla Condé Nast e di fronte alla PACE. Abbiamo avuto coperture su BBC, Times, Daily Telegraph, Herald Tribune, Financial Times e molti altri. Quello che stiamo facendo é a completo beneficio dei nostri musei, che come forse non sapete non possono campare di solo ticketing. A company called Space Roasters says it plans to use the considerable heat of reentry from space through Earth's atmosphere to roast coffee beans. It will then sell them for the perfect cup of joe.

In an interview with Room magazine, the founders of the company, Hatem Alkhafaji and Anders Cavallini, say space is the place to look for a next-level brew. "Coffee has been roasted the same way for centuries now, and as space science has improved many technologies, we believe it is time to revolutionize coffee roasting using space technology," the pair told the magazine.

How does it work? The company says it has patented a "space roasting capsule" in which heat from re-entry will be distributed around four cylinders each containing 75kg of coffee beans. Floating in microgravity, the beans will be evenly heated and roasted during the process. The capsule will then be recovered after landing with parachutes. "The entire process will last only 20 minutes but will end with a marvelous aroma as the hatch is opened," the founders told the magazine.
