Hello! Shakespeare Asks: V, VII, XIII. Thanks!

Thank you so much for these! (And for writing such fun questions) - I appreciate it :) Happy Shakespeare day to you! 

5) What’s your favorite rarely performed play? 

The Henry VI plays (Henry VI Parts I, II, and III) - as my Shakespeare professor said one whole year ago, “those plays are a minefield”, but they’re my favorite minefield. 

7) Pick a play to re-imagine in a different genre and medium

Okay - I love opera and I definitely think we need an H6 opera in the style of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. Some ideas for the voice types?? (maybe @shredsandpatches can help me out!) - and this is just a few of the main characters - there are a lot of characters. 

Henry VI - tenor or countertenor (if it’s a tenor, it needs to be scored fairly high I think, like a Britten tenor)

Margaret of Anjou- contralto (I think that’s a no-brainer?) 

Edward IV - either a baritone or a tenor with a really rich voice (like a Puccini tenor)  

Elizabeth Woodville - soprano 

George of Clarence - tenor 

Richard III - baritone? (the evil-ness is telling me baritone but he is also the baby of the York brothers, so...) 

Humphrey of Gloucester - bass-baritone 

Richard of York - bass-baritone 

Joan of Arc - mezzo? 

Eleanor Cobham - mezzo? 

Warwick - bass-baritone or bass 

Edward of Westminster - tenor 

Anne Neville - soprano

13) What’s the weirdest production you’ve ever seen? 

I think I’m going to go with Emma Rice’s 2016 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Globe - I watched a recorded version (as I do with most plays because I live in a small Texas town where theatre is not very accessible), and I still really enjoyed it. The music was FANTASTIC and my everything, but it was definitely not something I was expecting!

Okay so here’s my tentative take on the Ilvermorny houses for the Rose Tetralogy. I’m still not certain I’m understanding the houses correctly, and there’s a few characters where I have no idea where they would go.
