It's been a while since I made one of these, but recently I revisited the series and finally had an idea that worked for it, here's my fan made cover for "Consequences":
So a fun little fact, I actually came to this series a little bit later, after the first few shorter stories had already finished and the main "Paradise is Where the Heart is" story was already well under way, but was still aware of the series from the original posts, with this and it's direct sequel "We are not alone" being the first ones I actually spotted.
Going by the titles alone, I had always gotten a slightly ominous feeling from them, particularly the latter, and thought they were two parts of a "Head quarters gets tired of a lack of results and sends a new team" story, with Paradise possibly being the aftermath of the new team failing too, so reading them was a surprise. But knowing the consequences the story was actually about, this feels like a good fit, with a bit of that original ominous feeling mixed into the foreshadowing for the end of the story

For @quietanarchist
It’s been a while since the last time I did one of these but I’ve had this idea for some time now and with everything that’s happening, now seemed like a good time to do it. Hopefully I’ve got everyone; between the front and back covers I did over 70 of these little crayon stick figures (even some ghosts, plus Shion & Terara who I don’t believe were ever in the story). I had to dig through all the character art and a bunch of descriptions for anyone that lacked a full colour reference (and had to guess a lot for Lupapa’s siblings).
Really this is the longest installment in the series, and so much happens that it took a while to come up with an idea that worked to cover all of it
I also threw in some things like Rokiki holding the bookkeeping binder, and Kirere just drawing Kodada’s family and boyfriend as generic foreigners (Even though the boyfriend is a little more”foreign”....Also in Germany Pink is the archetypal boy’s colours and Blue is girl’s, hence their outfits) and using the actual colour of the Hinata family fridge. This one comes with a back cover you can add text to as well (Under the cut for anyone who hasn’t read the last chapter)
So this one has a couple of things that warrent their own comments. Namely Hachichi’s signature being modeled on a stylised type of handwriting used by schoolgirls in the 70s that schools tried to ban because it was considered illegible (I read the sample just fine, but it could be because the teachers weren’t used to mechanical pencils). Given Hachichi’s chosen career and his parentage handwriting that’s cute, but difficult to read seemed fitting.
I also picture this as being a somewhat older drawing that was updated, hence Ronene’s tail and hat peaks being a slightly different colour; Hachichi couldn’t find the right crayon and had to go with the closest match he could find. I actually drew the original picture and then the updates so it would look right.

It was a bit tricky doing this without pen pressure, but it’s finally ready (^.^)
Here’s a somewhat late birthday present for my friend Jlucy; I originally had something different in mind but after starting to re-read her series I realised it really needed a proper cover and this was the result (I’m especially proud of the title lettering). I have ideas for the other installments and want to draw them too (with both the birthdays I’ve missed and everything she & Bunny have helped me through the past year and a bit I think it warrants a few pictures each anyway), though I’m not quite sure what to do for consequences....and I used her personal character’s name (with “Author” as her title)
Either way, happy delayed birthday, I hope you enjoy it

So we’re going a bit out of order for these and skipping over to the cover for Eliza since I had clear idea of what I wanted to do for it and I still don’t have a clear enough idea for “Consequences” to really start from. But this one I knew from the beginning I wanted to recreate the look of an old leather bound book, the ones with a portrait of one of the main/title characters on the cover stamped in goldleaf; originally I thought I’d try to find a sample texture but I managed to find a stock image that was perfect to use as a base (at least I’m pretty sure it’s a stock image, I tried 8 different samples at around 2:30am)
The drawing of Eliza herself went surprisingly smoothly though, I think I actually spent less time getting it to look as I wanted than I did tweaking the leather layer, I was a bit worried about trying to match Jlucy’s style of drawing faces since it’s so different from mine (especially in profile since I tend to make the features less pronounced). But I flipped between the reference picture I chose a lot (The one after Fujuju’s first night in London) and I’m really happy with how it turned out. My feeling about the lettering are a bit mixed though, I’m happy with how it turned out, but on the other hand I don’t really have anything specific in mind for the lettering on the rest of them, so it might be a tough act to follow. Oh and below the break there’s an alternate version where the goldleaf for the text matches better, but the texture is softer, I had a bit of trouble deciding which to go with
