FIRST of all. i fucking LOOOOOOOOOOVED how the actors portrayed the change in their characters over the 7 years!!!! it really felt SO similar to tos!!!! like uhura’s more breathy (?) speaking pattern and chapel’s more composed manner (tho she didn’t get much adljwbrbdj) and spock’s more restrained self (which by the way I CALLED IT I FUCKING WIN!!!!!!! the writers are AWARE which means WERE GOING THAT DIRECTION BABEYYYYYY!!!!!). like it was a subtle change and it bridged the differences between tos n snw so WELL. and also there was some stellar camerawork too like when the romulans first showed up and everyone looked to spock in order and the camera ZOOMED in aldnwndnshwbd I LOVE IT

pike saying the enterprise would be lucky to have kirk 😭 SHE SURE IS!!!!!!!!

also them going the opposite direction from aos pike n kirk this time was so funny tbh. genius level repeat offender four years i’ll do it in three your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes WHOMST????????

not sure abt the new kirk actor yet tho LMFAO. you could def see him pulling from cpine jim but less so shatner imo (which. is perhaps a good thing FBSNDBBSNABWHJ) but i’ll give him some time!!!!

that said. i am such a lucky bitch to get to see kirk and spock be In Love on my television screen THREE TIMES!!!!!!!! like just the immediate respect for each others ideas and the way kirk very neatly said “idc that the romulans Look Like Vulcans tbh i just think it’s more suspicious that they’re revealing themselves now and preying on lingering federation bigotry” like YES what a guy go get ur man. and also the parallels when they both met pike like “👁 am i interrupting 👁” within 2 minutes of each other. gay 💜😭👁🖖👍🌈
