Hi! I'm Sundance. My main is @meatmensch.

With antisemetic hate crimes on the rise, I have been super bummed out. The tags #judaism and #jewish have been trending on Tumblr because of the recent swatting of synagogues. I saw @harasharaved mention that, whenever these tags trend, it is usually because something horrible has happened.

So! I thought I'd make this blog to shine a spotlight on Jewish joy on Tumblr. Please spread this! Poetry, art, tournaments, memes, fanworks, stories, music, book recs, recipes, resources - they all belong here. This is just a place to share cool stuff and bring people together. I'm going to try to make this blog as devoid of Jewish pain and suffering as possible. Sadly, I think that is going to be difficult. But that's the whole point. And I will tag appropriately.

Feel free to tag me in posts, message me posts, send me asks, and submit stuff. I hope I can make this a fun little project that spreads some joy!

Trans-inclusive language in religious texts is SO IMPORTANT. There is nothing in some young people’s lives that can either validate or dehumanize them so quickly as how they see themselves represented in the words of their religion.

Hoping that this tropical storm turned hurricane can cancel classes on monday. The college should be smart and think "hm its probably not that safe for students to drive and buses cant make it from the high schools. Classes are cancelled"

#the first shabbat in our new place we welcomed with candles melted to ramekins#sake#brazi bites for challah#and a microwave pizza for dinner#i find wonderful poetic meaning in what i call 'dirtbag shabbat'

welcomed the sabbath late with some dinky tea candles, a small glass of manischewitz, and some sourdough toast. shabbat shalom

conversion student hello i went to a shabbat event and it was the best thing ever. i loved everything about it i loved the food i loved the music i loved the prayers i loved the people. i’m autistic and i was in a room full of strangers singing songs i didn’t know and i didn’t feel awkward in the slightest that’s how lovely it was. i spoke to people well and without fear even though i didn’t know them because i was just not anxious at all. i got to wear a kippah and it matched my outfit. genuinely it was one of the nicest evenings i can remember. i can’t wait for this to be my life all the time :33333
