What was the first song you heard by your bias group? When did you hear it? : FANTASTIC BABY by BIG BANG. Around my birthday and my moms bday. She was in Cali at the time getting medical help. I was on the phone reacting to her reaction while she watched the music video. Was thought to be a phase but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be apart of it for me. RIP Mama and 9 years later here I am so NOT a phase lmao💜💔.

omg jess. i’m more than happy to explain this. it all started while looking on pinterest when i came across this picture:

it had no details, but was pinned to some girl’s kpop board. that was my first lead, i clicked the picture and found a picture that had 24k on it so i googled it lol

i followed all the members on instagram: 24k | cory | kisu | jeonguk | changsun | jinhong | hongseob |  newest member: kiyong (i’ll go into details if you want) | there is a list of former members and one is on hiatus.

so anyways, one morning cory went live, but it was just audio because he said he looked really bad after being in the studio all day (which i highly doubt! 🙄) but like it was super late for him. but anyways… he was chatting with all of us. answering questions, laughing at that somebody touched my spaghet meme and my dumbass asked him if he liked hockey and he told me he has never watched it lol

like he literally chatted with all of us for an hour. i decided he was my bias right then and there. so my first impression of him was literally based on his personality. he’s fun… a little wild and a big nerd omg he’s a huge dork lol. and he is literally friends with so many people that i was surprised i hadn’t found him sooner. like he’s best friends with christian and peniel and some guy named michael and eddy of jjcc and he knows zelo.

so he’s the dad/leader of the group. born in korea, grew up in portland. his dad gave him the name cory because when you add ah to the end of cory it sounds like korea. the members always have him translate things to english for the foreign fans. he taught the members somebody touched my spaghet and always has a good laugh when one of them brings it up lol. he wants to own a corgi farm. he says folks a lot… A LOT.

at this point i’m just rambling about him. i have so many stories. like when christian wrote a poem about cory lmao it was like “cory likes bowling because it’s sort of like rolling” idk they are so weird lol. and one time he wanted suggestions on what to eat and i kept telling him waffles and he was like “listen if i could get waffles rn i would” lmao

I'm looking for an office job or anything that is available. I like to cook different types of things. I'm trying to eat healthier foods and that's usually the type of recipes I search for online. I like baking cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts for my family. I don't have too many hobbies I love to read, watch movies, and coming up with different workout routines. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who’s also liked so many of the same artists/bands. T_T I’ve heard some of JJCC and VIXX’s stuff before, but I’ll definitely check out coldrain NCIS and Alice Nine. wait omg I’m listening to Gone by Coldrain right now since it was the first result to show up. it’s so good already wtf wow WOWOWOWWOWOWOWWWW I LOVE and i havent even finished listening yet—- actually i think im secretly into like alt rock/post-hardcore or something but I dont know enough about rock to like say anything yet

I think almost everyone’s heard of Fahrenheit, and Aaron Yan is pretty famous nowadays. But I grew up listening to a lot of Jay Chou (since my dad is a fan lol) and Stephanie Sun. I also like Mayday and JJ Lin, and Andrew Tan (I like his voice but his music is kind of generic). Jolin Tsai is like iconic but I think the stuff she did for 不一樣又一樣 was really great. I also like the songs that Ian Chen writes and his voice sounds nice on the studio tracks (but I don’t think he can actually sing very well. Also violin skills are kind of cringe-y but who am i to judge). And I know Fire EX. has been around a while,though they didn’t really get famous until the whole sunflower movement like 2 years ago, but I actually enjoy taiwanese songs just because I’m also taiwanese haha. Oh my I’m so sorry for this rant.

You seem to lead a healthy lifestyle (unlike me haha). What are some of your favorite movies? Your hobbies are so much more sophisticated than mine, I think I stopped reading for fun after 5th grade and all I do now is just kpop and anime (I am a sad human bean). School is occasionally stressful but it’s alright I guess. Lots of rehearsals coming up. TOP 10 KPOP bands (and why)

hmmm i’m gonna assume you mean who i think the best groups are and not who my own personal favorites are, so that’s how i’m gonna answer it.

1. Shinhwa - DON’T EVEN ARGUE WITH ME okay. I’m not a shinhwa changjo, but no one can deny the impact they’ve had on the kpop industry. This year they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary. TWENTY FUCKING YEARS. Other than the years they’ve served in the army, I believe they haven’t had more than a couple of years hiatus, so... It’s really impressive that they’ve kept going for so long without anyone leaving the group or disbanding and reuniting. Also they still make amazing songs to this day!2. DBSK (ot5) - they were my first ever kpop group and I think anyone who got into kpop around 2008~2009 (or even before) would agree with me on this. Mirotic is, in my personal opinion, the MOST iconic song of kpop. Ever. There’s a reason they were the first non-Japanese group to be invited to perform in Tokyo Dome, and they broke the world record for the biggest fandom I believe? (not sure if it was broken again since then but still) Anyways db5k were the best thing ever and I’m still lowkey sad they disbanded because homin/jyj just aren’t the same :(3. Super Junior - ok they are my personal #1 but I’m trying to be objective so I’m only putting them at 3, but it’s a combination of shinhwa and dbsk I guess? They’ve also set some records, but what’s more special about them, the way I see it, is that they’ve gone through so much together and even though there have been a lot of problems, members leaving or on hiatus, they’re still essentially a group and they just keep going. They haven’t gotten support from sm, who debuted them just to do something with all the trainees they had left after they debuted dbsk, and yet they kept going on to become one of the best kpop groups in Korea.4. 2NE1 - I was debating who to put here because personally I prefer snsd and I will put them on the list too, but I think objectively speaking, 2ne1 deserve this spot more. They were so unique and interesting, they were (I believe, but correct me if I’m wrong) the first girl group to do a tough concept, and even though I stopped listening to them in around 2013 and thought their songs weren’t as good anymore, I can’t deny the impact they’ve had on the industry, and the power they gave girls all around the world. I’m sad that they’ve disbanded, even if I wasn’t a huge fan.5. Girls’ Generation - I feel like I keep repeating myself and I’m not explaining myself properly but there’s a reason they became maybe the most popular girl group in Korea at some point... actual queens. I love them so much ;-;6. Big Bang - same with 2ne1, I’m not a huge fan of Big Bang, but they ARE one of the top groups ever. They were one of the first groups to have a huge input on their music, album designs (I think?) and the whole production of their albums, and they pretty much saved yg’s ass. I think there’s a reason that all other yg groups that followed sound pretty much the same as big bang (I don’t mean this in a bad way), because they WORK.7. Wonder Girls - I used to hate them so much when I got into kpop and I have no idea why... I didn’t like their music but I might have been a bit of an anti because Heechul (my ultimate bias) loved Sohee so much and I thought she treated him badly (I was 17 okay I know it’s not an excuse but still. I was stupid back then.) anyways since then one of my best friends ( @xiuniverse61) is a wonderful and thanks to her I decided to give them another chance and I realized they’re actually amazing. Again I’m really bad at explaining ~why~ but they were queens and I really hope they will all succeed in the future (+I said this already but Sunmi’s Gashina was probably my #1 favorite song of 2017).8. Shinee - Just. I don’t know. They were such an important group, to me and to many others, and... It’s been over two weeks now and my heart is still broken because of Jonghyun so I really can’t explain too well because I can’t even think about everything they’ve done...9. BTS - yup. I’m actually putting them here. Even though I really don’t like them. But like I said I’m doing this list objectively, and I really can’t deny how much they’ve done. I personally don’t enjoy most of their songs, but they do create good music for those who enjoy this style, and I think it’s amazing that they’ve managed to become pretty much the #1 most popular kpop group of this time, coming from a small & unknown company. Putting aside my own personal thoughts of them and their fandom, I really had to put them here.10. EXO - a few years ago I never would have dreamed to put them on a list like this, because even though back then I was still an exo-l I thought that it was difficult to say they’re one of the best groups while they were still so new and like... half of their popularity back then was due to sm. But I think they’ve proven themselves above and beyond in recent years, they’ve gone through a lot and they still keep giving us amazing songs. Also, they’re pretty much at the same popularity level of bts so if I put one I have to put the other. :)Other honorable mentions that I didn’t put in the list - sistar, f(x), f.t. island, block b... there are many more but I’ll stop here.also, in case I misunderstood the question and you wanted to know my own personal top10:1. super junior2. pentagon3. wjsn4. seventeen5. monsta x6. mamamoo7. sistar8. snsd9. trax10. it used to be jjcc but now I think... idk there are a lot of groups I love but not in a fandom-kind-of-way, or group like wanna one/rainz/jbj who are very new and temporary... maybe cnblue even though I wouldn’t call myself a boice (what a horrible fandom name lol), but I’ve always loved them a lot
