so actually, Jade was the only OC that retained her name all through developement. I actually had the hardest time naming Christine, because ngl i'm a sap and love names with meaning.

Christine was UNNAMED until i got the main theme of Dig Site, which was a critique on cult behaviors and organized religion to an extent. the name comes from "follower of Christ", because I wanted a religious theme lowkey through it.

Jade's name refers to an old belief that placing jade stones on the stomach could relieve diseases such as colic. half of my family is Chinese too, and Jade is kind of like a lucky charm, meant to ward off evil, in her close calls with Kira. she always avoids death out of sheer luck, hence her name.

Isadora, blessed by Isis, is a reference to rebirth, and her role as a protector. her middle name too, which is revealed at the end to be Harriet, also means something. it means 'ruler of the house', and at the very end of LiC, she's successfully taken over as owner of Meyers Maps and Cartography :)

Melanie has the coolest one arguably, with her name just meaning dark, BUT, the name is French. Without spoiling too too much about the plot of Cell Block, someone helped with the name because for the first few years of her life, she lived with another Meyers girlie due to the death of her father, and her mother disappearing. ifykyk.

Sarah's is basic but it's a shot at Dio. the name means 'woman of high ranking'. owning him from birth.
