Note
Was the orange squash brought up by concierge Jimmy who'd thought that he could stand a chance with Kate?
Concierge Jimmy’s friends absolutely do not believe he’s ever met Kate Sharma.
“She signed my cap! And she invited me to watch her play.”
“Like hell she did, Mate!”
They think it’s a little hilarious but Jimmy’s got a tiny crush on Kate Sharma, and it feels like a real slap in the face when he gets called up to her suite one afternoon with an array of food and Anthony Bridgerton opens the door, shirtless, the shower running in the background.
“Cheers Mate.” Anthony smiled, “Can I sign or do you need her?”
“I don’t want your autograph!”

Shershaah Movie Review
Introduction
Shershaah is a 2021 Indian biographical war drama directed by Vishnuvardhan and produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra as Captain Vikram Batra, the heroic Indian Army officer who was martyred during the Kargil War of 1999. With Kiara Advani playing his love interest, the movie is an emotional yet action-packed tribute to a national hero.
Plot Overview
The film chronicles the life of Captain Vikram Batra, from his early years and his unwavering desire to join the Indian Army to his courageous acts during the Kargil War. The narrative explores his transformation from an ambitious young cadet to a fearless soldier who led his troops in one of India’s most significant military victories. His famous war cry, “Yeh Dil Maange More!”, is brought to life with intensity, making Shershaah a deeply moving experience.
Cast and Performances
Sidharth Malhotra as Captain Vikram Batra / Vishal Batra — Malhotra delivers a career-defining performance, seamlessly portraying both the warrior’s bravery and the romantic side of his personal life.
Kiara Advani as Dimple Cheema — Playing Batra’s love interest, Advani brings warmth and emotional depth to the film.
Shiv Panditt as Captain Sanjeev “Jimmy” Jamwal — A solid supporting performance as Batra’s fellow officer.
Nikitin Dheer as Major Ajay Singh Jasrotia — Adds to the film’s authenticity with a strong portrayal of military camaraderie.
Sahil Vaid as Sunny — Provides comic relief and emotional support as Vikram’s best friend.
Anil Charanjeett as Naib Subedar Bansi Lal Sharma — A heartfelt performance as a dedicated soldier.
Direction and Cinematography
Vishnuvardhan’s directorial execution ensures that Shershaah is both gripping and respectful of its real-life inspiration. The battle sequences are well-choreographed, and the cinematography by Kamaljeet Negi captures the breathtaking yet treacherous landscapes of Kargil. The film balances action with emotion, making it a well-rounded war drama.
Screenplay and Music
The screenplay, penned by Sandeep Shrivastava, effectively blends personal moments with the horrors of war. The dialogues are impactful, with many sequences leaving a lasting impression. The film’s music, composed by Tanishk Bagchi, B Praak, and Jasleen Royal, features emotionally stirring tracks like “Raataan Lambiyan” and “Mann Bharrya”, which add to the film’s emotional depth.
Critical Reception
Shershaah received widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences. The film was praised for its honest storytelling, Sidharth Malhotra’s performance, and its patriotic fervor. Many consider it one of the finest war films in Indian cinema.
Conclusion
With its stellar performances, powerful narrative, and intense war sequences, Shershaah is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates biographical dramas and patriotic cinema. It serves as a fitting tribute to Captain Vikram Batra and the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces.

I know right, I need that scene of Marn kicking Shubman off the sofa now. 😆😆😆 Bonus if Marn gets up all confused, wondering why they're on the bed when he remembers going to the sofa with Shub. Shub smirks at him. "Well, you kicked me off the sofa so I carried you here... thought it would be more comfortable." Marn is so embarrassed that he kicked Shub off lmaoo 😂😂
Yes, I love the idea of Shub cornering Patty at the presentations to give him a piece of his mind. It makes sense that the BCCI would want a fresh omega sent to the aus dressing room, because as you said it's not really a bet if the omega is going to his own bonded alpha.
Oh dear, Steve will end up with a black eye or two if he sends Yash back smelling of him. xD So for the sake of his safety, we'll have Marn intervene and not let him do that. Or maybe Steve goes to put his jumper on Yash, but Yash flinches away, whimpering, because he doesn't want to be rid of Shub's scent, it's so comforting for him and Steve backs off immediately because he's not going to make Yash uncomfortable for the sake of a petty rivalry with Shubman. He can find other ways to settle the score.
But I do like the idea of Yash returning to the Indian dressing room in Steve's jumper, stinking of him, and before Shub can do/say anything, Yashasvi is the one who begs Shubman for his jumper to get rid of Steve's scent on him. Shubman obliged immediately, and has Steve's jumper ceremonially burned. 😆😆😆 Probably sends Steve a video of him doing the same.
Also, speaking of Yash getting jealous, headcanon that he's very insecure of Abhishek Sharma. (The guy who scored 135 in the last T20i). So Shubman and Abhishek have been best friends since childhood, they met during domestic tryouts. Abhishek is an omega in my mind, and I can see him being the only omega on his youth teams. Cue baby Shubman immediately taking it upon himself to protect baby Abhishek from all the unwelcome advances he receives. Bonus points if Shubman once stands up to a much older alpha, like a coach or someone who wants Abhishek to sleep with them if he wants an entry into the youth squad. Shubman is a hot-headed sixteen year old then who has no problem going toe-to-toe with an alpha twice his size and thrice his age to protect Abhishek.
So Yashasvi kinda being very insecure of Abhishek and Shubman's friendship because they've been besties for so long, they know every little thing about each other, how can Yash himself ever match the easy chemistry Shub has with Abhi? Also, Abhishek is an omega quite like VK-- cocky, confident, promiscuous. Yash finds himself so inadequate as a romantic partner for Shubman when comparing himself with Abhishek, because Abhi is so beautiful and pretty and seductive and witty, why would Shub give any attention to a quiet, reserved, broken omega like him when he has someone like Abhi around? Unbeknownst to Yash, Abhi is Shub's rant partner about "What more can I do to woo Yash?" "Why won't Yash look at me?" "Oh fuck, Yash looks so pretty in the new training kit, heaven help me, how am I supposed to train without getting distracted now?"
Also, what do the older alphas like Jimmy/Ben/KP or Steve/Pat/Marshy think of Shub's treatment of not just their omegas, but omegas as a broader second-gender?
Ahha, aww that's cute. We could have Shub asking Marn about his night terrors and how frequent they are? I see a cute conversations occurring.
Yeah Yash makes sense so Shub gets to go and be aggressive to Patty :P
Ok, so how about this - Steve gives Yash his jumper after Marn begs him to because giving Yash an alpha scent will help mislead the CA to thinking the omegas are being used by the players, thus stopping any board members from getting involved. Marn and Steve think nothing of it, but Yash HATES it (in this version, he DOESN'T have Shub's hoodie on to start). Still Marn chills with Yash all evening, even staying up with him when Steve brings him back to his room (Marn so totally does not need his own hotel room; it always goes unused now he and Steve are officially together). He notices Yash seems a bit uncomfortable but doesn't think much of it; he assumes this is Yash's first time bet so he's doing everything to try and chill the omega out. As soon as they're in Steve's room Yash rips the hoodie off, but it's not help. Steve's scent is stuck to him like glue.
Yash gets collected in the morning and returned to the Indian team. He makes a bee-line for Shub, not even waiting for the alpha to ask if he's OK (Shub is looking like he hasn't slept a wink all night - which he hasn't) simply demanding: "Get it off me." Shub doesn't have to ask what he's talking about, happy to take Yash back to his room and wash the omega clean, scenting him himself as he does. Picture a nice, sweet moment of Shub washing Yash softly in the bath, only for Yash to propose bonding xD
Ooo I like him getting jealous, but we'll need Shub to do something to cool that jealousy down. Otherwise we get stuck in a spiral and there's really no way out of it or for them to logically stay together. Also - thanks for that reminder about Abhi's knock... But I love Abhi actually being Shub's confidant, and any time they're together Shub can literally do nothing but talk about Yash.
KP should not and should never be included in that list. I thought we'd established that in HIPS xD
Ben, Jimmy, Pat - all of them would be really impressed and inspired by Shub's attitude. Dare I say schooling themselves for not taking the initiative he has. Just remember they're like the bridge 'generation' of players; not Jimmy, but Ben and Pat have seen what is was like for omegas, have hoped for the change and are starting to see it come to light. Hence why they're a little slow out the block, unlike Shub who's always seen playing omegas as just players.
But this would DEFO cause Ben and Pat to come together ahead of the 2023 Ashes, agree that the fighting happens on the pitch and not off it, and omegas are people too. There's an unspoken agreement that, if either team win, they won't use the omegas like has almost become tradition for The Ashes.
This actually fits quite well because irl KP was really vocal during the first test that the Aussies and England players were being way too chummy off-pitch for his liking. I can see that translating in verse to him being like "They're Aussie omegas, you fuck them hard. Better yet if you can get to them mid series and get them ruled out of a Test." He doesn't agree with this new way Ben and Pat seem to be doing things, but it's a great way to show the evolution of how omegas are seen without bashing it over the head of the reader.
This has all worked out quite nicely!

[ad_1] Virat Kohli after getting out in the second innings at the MCG (PC: Debasis Sen) RevSportz Comment With Australia having battled back into the ascendancy in the tussle for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, some of those who once wore the baggy green have wasted no time in putting the boot in. The 295-run thrashing in Perth seems many moons ago now, and the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are squarely in the crosshairs after three dismal outings in Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne. Michael Slater, cavalier opener in the team that took over West Indies’ mantle as the world’s greatest side, suggested after Australia’s 184-run win at the MCG that Kohli had become something of a protected species. While pointing out that the much-trolled Rohit Sharma had scored more runs and centuries in the past five years, Slater said: “Kohli is genuinely the safest guy ever.” He isn’t factually wrong. Over the past half-decade, Rohit has more runs (2,160 to 2,005), a better average (36 to 31.32) and more hundreds (6 to 3) than Kohli. But that’s where the comparison stops making sense. A career isn’t just a five-year stretch, and Kohli had all-time-great numbers until his post-Covid slump. Rohit, despite his heroics in white-ball cricket, has never been in the ‘great’ conversation when it comes to Test cricket. Kohli’s nose-diving numbers do, however, make you question just how much selectors and fans alike live in the past, and how much perceptions are coloured by nostalgia. Let’s face it, five years is no blink of an eye either. Kohli has played 38 Tests in that time. His numbers are comparable to those of Pankaj Roy (2442 runs at 32.56), Ajit Wadekar (2213 runs at 31.07) and Chetan Chauhan (2084 at 31.57) – each of whom was a solid Test batsman without ever threatening to break into the highest echelon. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Virat Kohli after the loss at the MCG (PC: Debasis Sen) Why, then, such a long rope? Or is it just the monstrous wheels of commerce in action? Our guess is that India’s cricket fans, like Marcel Proust, are In Search of Lost Time. You see, the half-decade when Kohli was king, he really was majestic, as gifted and dominant as any player the sport has seen. He had a modest beginning. By the time he came home from England in 2014 – a dismal aggregate of 134 runs from 10 innings prompted a visit to Sachin Tendulkar in Mumbai, and some technical tweaks – Kohli averaged 39.46 from 29 Tests, with six centuries. A few months later, he went to Australia and was a player transformed. Over the next five years and 55 Tests, he smashed 21 centuries while averaging 63.65. He proved a point against Jimmy Anderson and ‘friends’ in England in 2018, and there were sublime centuries in South Africa and Australia as well. On home soil, his batting against England in the 4-0 rout in 2016 was straight out of some video game. With the possible exception of the great Viv Richards, few made run-scoring look so easy. It is that Kohli avatar that his admirers still cling to. We saw glimpses of it in the second innings in Perth and even during the first dig in Melbourne when a couple of drives pinged off the bat with pristine timing. But increasingly, such moments have become just that – moments. Innings of substance have been few and far between. The great Tendulkar didn’t score a hundred in his last 23 Tests. Richards managed just one in his last 19. Once you lose it at a certain age – Kohli turned 36 in November – getting it back is near-impossible. As he heads to the Sydney Cricket Ground – where his hero made three centuries and an 80 in five Tests – Kohli will know better than anyone that time, that thief who steals from us all, is running out. 2019 ---
Hello friends! We meet again, as we do every end of year, to celebrate & reward the art of the year!
Yes, I remember stating last time that it may be the last edition of, “India’s Oscars” as I’ve heard many call it…yet, since Indie’s resolved ‘Indies All-time Hindis’ List taking more time than envisaged (100 Years of Hindi cinema, is bloody long!), decided that since movie reviewing happening incessantly (alongside other ‘living exigencies’ of course) anyway, as also for the current year.. what the heavens!!;
So here we go, tighten your seat belts, as we go for a little flying tour through the year’s national artistic clouds…& be assured plenty rains!
P.S. 1. A few alterations & additions from last year – 3 new categories introduced to encourage the film writing fraternity, namely Best screenplay, Best Lyrics, & Best Scene. And erstwhile ‘Best Designed Film’ renamed as ‘Best Visual Film’.
The award format albeit, same as refurbished from last year ie 10 main awards (incl joint awards) & 10 spl mentions thereafter in each category.
Considering the new format addition to films- The web series phenomena! Hereon, all film categories will auto-include web-series(seasons) for the year, looking at them as 4-5 times length films-in-one.
A separate 'Best Web Series' category will also be included though, for added perspective. No crying now. No guffawing. Erm Ok do that! & Nooo hitttting. Just pure unadulterated enjoying!

X) BEST SCENE :
1.Romeo Akbar Walter: Climax scene: Culminating in “He chose his motherland over his own mother!” To Vande Mataram reverberations!
The mini-battle btwn the measly 40-odd peasantry folk led by Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, guarding the provincial fort, against the mighty full British batallion.
Avuku Raju, the almost certain local traitor, at end of above battle, when comes behind the fleeing British, & to surprise of initially depressed village folk, turns against the British. And at the end comes across to Sye & says, "I always disliked you, Narasimha. For you were always better than me at everything I was good at. Narasimha chuckles Avuku: "But rest assured, I will go ahead of you, in this great noble path that is your's….one day!" To chants of "SYE SYE SYE RAA!!"
Narasimha Reddy's final speech at the gallows.
Uri-The Surgical Strike: The War Cry : “How’s The Josh!?”
Hope you folks had a great year enjoying the year's arts, & life in art… And wish you all a Great New Year 2020 up ahead!
Welcome to the Annual Bollywood Films & Web Series Awards, for the year 2020, all! Aptly described as ARGUABLY THE GREATEST YEAR FOR THE HINDI PARALLEL AND ALTERNATE CINEMA MOVEMENT!
Upon a slew of extraordinary stand-out super low budget gems, noted for remarkably gripping direction, as also in coming -of -age for the new King of Indian parallel cinema- Nawaz Siddiqui!…finally stepping up to carry the parallel film mantle, left & long voided by Naseeruddin Shah, with 3 extraordinary Indies in the yr!
As also rare achievement in this, the Ashes Era, for any film among the ~50-odd nominated, to mention this year's winner in particular, entering Indies All-Time Top 100! And a web series, finding pride of place, in Top 305 All-Time (combined)!
Furthermore, that web series era, gaining firm ground from previous yr, now coming to establish itself as space for true artistic inspiration & even gung ho chutzpah, behind as well as ahead of camera, allowing newer talent, & older divas, the space to rise up to the big screen/item challenge, differently, & in grand style & success!
P.S. : 1.Let be noted, though most widely reviewed & buzzed web series, been viewed & accommodated justiciably, a reasonable sum hasn't, for this already highly overworked team of Annual & All-Time film reviewers & compilers..& will be done justice to, if & when need arise!
Also, though Best film , Best Web Series & Best Screenplay (Film), been segregated, at the Indies, all other award categories, incl acting & directing haven't, going with Indie policy of treating Web Series (seasons) as quadruple-length films, deserving equal comparison, in technical if not effect zones!
Let's roll!

2021-
Welcome world, to another Year-End Awards Extravaganza.. "THE INDIES 2021", aka "THE INDIES ASHES 2021", also reputed as "THE BOLLYWOOD/HINDI OSCARS" !
Another highly satisfying year for both the Film & Web-Series spaces, operating for past half decade now within the Bollywood ecosystem.
The rating pts for era-ending director & actor rankings are as always : 1st place - 10.5 pts ; 2nd place - 4.7 pts ; 3rd place - 1.5 pts ; 4th place - 0.4 pts.
Also as always, just to remind Indie viewers, while Best Web Series & Best Film arenas are separate adjudications, being different effect zones… the creative aspects (ie direction & visuals & story & acts) are clubbed together, as the same for both.
And need we remind audiences of the age-old Indie motto, of rewarding quality not quantity, this year as a result producing one of the highest winners tallies at Indies, with 21 male & 14 worthy female performances, making the cut for the Indie Trophy!
This year noteworthy for producing some really outstanding performances even within the macho acting sphere, alongside some truly slice-of-life high professionals acting, alongside the inspirational orbit.
In films section, a peculiar time, in throwing up lots in really interesting & notable (even Indies award winning now!) 'Indie' work, lauded in the festival & international circuit, yet under the Indian masses radar, that hopefully the Indies Awards can help throw more light on. Also via web series arena, arising a critical mass of high concept content, necessitating a separate 'Best Story/Screenplay' Awards section!
P.S. : A peculiar trend emerging in Bollywood circles, for those keeping a keen eye on it, is the slew of (~ 50-70%) content equally dedicated to the LGBTQ, esp lesbian community & secondly the druggie communities. We'll leave it to the audiences to imagine if the truth lay in art imitating life or film industry life, or some sorta larger agenda at play. And ofcourse there be nothing wrong at all, in any content on LGBTQ community whatsoever, just an observation worthy of mention, given just its scale of representation!
So let's begin unravelling Bollywood 2021, per the Indie eye, now ! ! !

Wordpress blogpost for "The Indies 2021" !:
……….
And that's how 2021 ends for our esteemed & deeply evolving digital audiences, old & young alike !
So stay tuned for more Indie research into this hitherto uncharted tract, already more than halfway complete along it's gigantic mission !
Shabba Khair, Khuda Haafiz, Happy New Year, Jai Shri Ram, & Jai Shri Krishna, to you all !
2022-
Welcome one & all, to this, the 8th continuous year of the most prestigious & popular (contemporary) online annual Bollywood Film Awards, of the entire awards season, this whole decade-
The Indies.
NOTE: This year's scrolls, unlike past couple of years, do not include the web series segment, which saw it's boom period during the international pandemic induced lockdown for precisely those 2 years, a consequent dip in big quality film productions & produce, that in turn enabled lotsa screen talent to temporarily shift to the web space with much more confined production settings, causing lot more high quality & novel produce here…a level that's under normal circumstances since, somehow seen a drastic dip in collective work, thus causing Indies to take a call in favor of avoiding that segment entirely hereon, or atleast this year. That's not to say a few good productions may not've seen light of day, yet not enough to warrant a entire dedicated Indies awards show for the same.
As also no turnout worth any reckoning on the music front, putting paid to that space too for today.
A year marked most uniquely by the nationwide boycott of Bollywood films at the box office, done for a variety of reasons we can't precisely put a finger on, yet that had an extraordinary (read crippling) effect on overall Bollywood earnings for the year, yet since we're not in business of awarding business, rather awarding art, let's get back to our sole area of focus.
This year seeing a very strong showing from a few dubbed South Indian works (released in North & West Indian theaters), & few made in multiple languages incl of South, that not only escaped the boycott wrath, but also found favor on the art front here.
Around the same 30-odd films making it to the elite Indie watchlist here, as for most years, & a similar large pool of winners for all categories in keeping with the now worldly known 'no ceiling on quality' Indies philosophy, except the actresses section seeing only one winner after long!
So enjoy the year's best works in all different aspects, & merrily live the month & year away !

Since VK has been paired up with sooo many people from all around the world, if you had to create a cricket playing 11 comprising of only his boyfriends, could you do it? If so, who would it contain? 😂😂
Well this is a fun question! Let me see what I can do:
1. Gautam Gambhir 2. Rohit Sharma 3. Kane Williamson 4. Joe Root 5. AB De Villers (wk) 6. Ben Stokes (c) 7. Glenn Maxwell 8. Pat Cummins 9. Jasprit Bumrah 10. Mitchell Johnson 11. Jimmy Anderson
Turns out I don't know many VK ships - this took a lot of research xD I'd settled on 3-8 and 11, 1, 2, 9 and 10 were add ins after some googling so they're up for debate. Also I could not think of many bowlers but I'm sure people will be quick to remind me of plenty more.
I'm not happy with 1, 2, 9 and 10, but they'll do until I find better replacements or you guys convince me they're good ships :P . I know there are many more names I could have picked but I'm trying to build a good team here! xD
