Uta as the STAR GODDESS!!!!! She is also the godess of dreams and lullabies. She is in charge of crafting constellations, shaping dreams, She picked up singing from brook.

OK this gave me a kind of sad idea abt Uta--

Okay so Luffy is much much older than Jimbe, and Brook is even older than that, so Uta was a star that was very vibrant and colourful, and Luffy had no one to talk to but Brook, so he talked to the star a lot. Brook accepted this as normal and started singing to the star and Luffy at the same time. Then after abt a million years of this (Luffy and Brook are Very Old) the star burned out, as all stars do, and Luffy and Brook were both very sad to see it go.

But then Uta was born as the star collapsed. Not a god of anything, just Uta.

Luffy was infinitely excited at the prospect of this new sister, and Brook was happy to have a new friend. They spent eons teaching her everything they knew, about how to make music and stars and asteroids and smiles, and she took in everything, and for a long time they were happy.

Uta didn't like Jimbe, though, when Luffy accidentally melted that ice. She didn't like that he was cold and wouldn't play games or listen to her speak let alone sing. She tried talking to him once, and he nearly extinguished her. She was scared, because Jimbe was strange and new and mean.

Then Usopp sprouted from the surface of a planet one day, and grew weird green things that shriveled up when she tried to touch them. Luffy was in love, and started following Usopp around. But Usopp didn't like when Uta touched his plants, and Uta didn't like that Luffy tried to drag Usopp into their games that were supposed to be just them and Brook.

Then Chopper, who was friendly at first but then Usopp gave him whispers about concepts Uta didn't understand, like death, and then Chopper hid from her as best he could.

Uta didn't bother with the rest of them, would hide amid the cosmos where she used to play, where it was just her and Brook and Luffy but now Luffy is dancing with the mean whispers and Brook is singing to the cold indifference and she believes she is forgotten.

And she grows bitter.

But then Brook dissapears completely, somewhere on that one planet, and Luffy tells her he won't leave again until he finds Brook. Asks her to help him look, because the sun and the stars just isn't enough.

Uta hates the planet, covered in plants that shrivel away from her and oceans that freeze her. Gullible animals, and messy clouds. She stays for six months, before she finds the god that nearly killed her guarding a cloud of ash.

Fine. If that's how Brook chooses to keep her away, she doesn't have the power to stop him.

Instead, she leaves without a word, and she knows Luffy can see her leave, because Luffy is always watching over her but it's not so comforting anymore.

Then, thirty years later, a god she never bothered to meet comes to her. Robin, she calls herself, god of knowledge. She asked why Uta was hiding, and Uta denied it.

Robin shows Uta her husband's human city, and talks about humans and their creativity. She's inspired, and she tries to come to earth again. But the humans, the ones that looked so excited to see her, went red and started bleeding and died the second she got close. She was horrified, and grief-stricken knowing she couldn't see all the art and music the little mortals made.

Then Robin came to where she hid again, this time with her husband and with the god of creatures.

Chopper offered her a proposal. She be incarnated as a human, for mortality and to see this would everyone was so infatuated with. She took the deal.

In being incarnated, though, she was born as a baby and lost all her memories. She didn't, however, grow up with an imaginary friend named Luffy that moved the stars around just for her.

Okay I did see the other giant robot (vegaforce) getting targeted because of exactly this reason

Also I really like the emphasis font/bolding on Luffy's voice here, like it's booming because he's so big and yet he's probably still shouting anyway. I love that for him.

Also the ah hya hya hya laugh, which you can hear in the Gear 5 trailer for PW4 (when is that dlc dropping?? I have a MIGHTY need) really makes me think Joyboy was a giant originally. That is probably where Elbaf comes in (Joyboy lore? Pls? 👀👀) + the giant straw hat

I love that everyone's reaction is STILL their eyes popping out of their heads. Poor Nami is never going to catch a break from this.

I wish we could see the rest of the Strawhats reactions to it! Brook was right there! Granted he doesn't have eyes to pop out (yohohoho), but that isn't stopping the logo half the time! No excuses! Also I just really want to see the remaining crew's reaction to Gigant Luffy. I know Zoro is busy and Sanji probably ran off to go do Mr. Prince stuff in the bg but pleaaaaaase you KNOW their reactions are going to be the funniest of them all

It's powered by/recognizes Gear 5. The drums in the panel make you think so, but I'm wondering if that's just a red herring? Harnessing the power of the mfing sun to fuel a giant robot is sick as FUCK tho so I wouldn't put it past Oda. Definitely something a space age civilization could do. Tho mother flame is implied to be powered by a fusion power reactor, so if Vegapunk still couldn't get the robot working after all this time, but York is confident in replicating the mother flame, then they probably aren't the same bc I imagine they would've tried to use the fusion reactor on the giant robot by now... That or she's just straight up lying about being able to replicate it/the existence of the reactor. Or Shaka was lying. Or it's powered by something way more abstract than the sun, like joy or freedom or something and that's why it lost power in Mariejois and the Punks couldn't figure out the power source and then it finally started back up when Luffy went Gear 5. Or- okay, there's a lot of options, I'm gonna stop now. Whichever one it is, I really hope Luffy gets to power and pilot a giant robot. Come on, Oda, let it happen, it'll be so cool...

Kuma activated something on Mariejois that activates the robot again. I think this is the most likely one given what we know so far, plus it's the easiest explanation. It also would make sense if the G5 drums are a red herring. Then Robot is going to continue doing what he was doing all that time ago. I still hope it is looking for that giant straw hat. Robot please destroy Imu's stupid little butterfly garden.

Kuma repelled his (remaining) consciousness into it? But going thru all that trouble to get to mariejois in his original body only to then do that? It would be a weird choice. But who am I to judge... Maybe there's a reason for it... Maybe he needs someone outside his own body to help achieve something... Maybe they only needed his body for the thing and so he's able to yeet his mind over to the big robot... Maybe that's how Kuma can come back... Let me have this one okay, the whole thing is super vague anyway 🥺 In Veneer, old world tech is powered by trapped souls, so maybe that's the same idea here and he'll be okay

There's another/outside group controlling the robot and they decided now would be a good time with all this shit going down. I think last time I talked abt it I mentioned the revolutionaries? They're a candidate but honestly with the way Oda writes it could be anyone, and probably a group we haven't met yet.

Side note, I wanna see gigant Luffy and demonio fleur Robin bro-ing it out now. A giant god and a giant demon... It will probably never happen since that'd take so much energy on both their parts, but it would be so cool!

Thank you @me-am-nacho now I can't get over 6'6 400lb 'could throw a car' Jimbe laughing and dancing and being a goof with 7'1 150lb 'blow away in the wind' Brook

- Brook pretty much carried 70s fashion so he's always got something tie-dye and Jimbe is pretty 'Working-Class Amarican Man' and dresses fairly plain but he's got a rainbow tie-dye bandana and some beaded bracelets he will wear until the day he dies because Brook gave them to him

- Jimbe doesn't know what a drag queen is. Brook talks about his uncles sometimes but it was never fully clear and Jimbe feels it's too late to ask.

- Brook has a cat (Laboon) that's twenty-something and refuses to die but he is Brook's Baby and naps on the dashboard while the crew drives in Brook's van with a bunch of psychedelic art on the side that's very recognizable and probably doesn't help hide from the many felonies they are collecting

- Chopper is wanted for falsifying so many court documents so he could get into med school at 14. He would have gotten away with it, but he looks like he's 8, and he starts hitchhiking so he can go to Canada and try fraud again.

- Robin and Franky are kinda like 1970's Bonnie and Clyde, Robin is an Egyptian woman and Franky is an amputee so neither of them are dodging the draft but Robin imprints on the crew during that stunt with the crime sindicate so they both join. Franky keeps putting gadgets into his arm prosthetic, like can openers. But he's got a second van so!!

- Once Jimbe finally manages to understand he may be feeling Gay Feelings, he buries them because he doesn't want to ruin his friendship with Brook.

- Brook is waiting for Jimbe to make the first move because he cannot fathom how anyone could possibly think his motives weren't romantic. He'll flirt but he won't do anything

- By the time they hit Michigan everyone in the crew thinks they're already a couple.

Modern AU strawhats(+Asl & Law) and their living situations

Luffy-Lives in the tiny shitass apartment he's been living in since he was 7 since he's never felt the need to upgrade, apartment is ass but it's like four floors over party's bar so he sees Makino and Dadan a lot (Dadan's the landlord)

Zoro- Room over the dojo he volunteers at, is the only one who can live up there because he can sleep over all the noise of the dojo so it's a pretty big but empty space(he's just got his bed and a fridge that has nothing but liquor and a bottle of soy sauce in it)

Nami- luxurious condo that she doesn't allow anyone to enter ever, also sometimes stays with her sister in a nice cottage next to the tangerine orchard when she's not in the city

Usopp- somehow the house everyone hangs out at, pretty big living space and open kitchen because Yasopp vastly overestimates how much it costs to live and he's always got extra money even when he's going to art school

Sanji- Nice apartment over his and his dad's restaurant until he moves out to become more independant and then rooms with Usopp

Vivi- Rich, lives in Nami's building before she moves back home

Chopper- Lived with his rich doctor parents, then moved out to live in the city and go to medical school (big brain, graduated at sixteen) and lives in Luffy's building because Doctorine vastly underestimates the cost of living. (don't worry, the gang make sure he gets by fully fed and not needing to balance a job and school)

Robin- Well off, lives in Nami's building but Nami doesn't know, (she only let's Luffy into her apartment because he talked her off a roof twice and she would give him the world if he asked) has a display case for all the knickknacks people give her

Franky- literally lives next to a dump, you know that one artistic guy from Iron Giant? It's that house, except instead of sculptures it's cars and robots. So he lives on th edge of the city but it doesn't really matter because he's the type to shrug of a ten hour drive and just briskly walks the hour and a half away from the gang that he lives

Brook- Lives over an old music shop that got shut down but Luffy b&e'd because there was a shiny thing in there, inspired Brook to reopen the shop, apparently all the old records he kept are antiques now and he could sell them for 12 times the old price

Jimbe- Lives in a really nice house, but was there for all the old BLM protests because he used to live in a tiny shitty town so he's always thankful for what he has and helped fund Brook reopening his music shop because he has heart of gold

Ace- used to live in the shitass apartment with Luffy, now lives in a nice apartment across the streat from Newgate Enterprises where he works

Sabo- also used to live in shitass apartment(seriously there were 3 people living in like 150 Square ft of room) but now lives in an undisclosed location (different shitass apartment on the edge of town over a shady computer company that's the home base to the RA/Dragon mob

Law- enough money to buy a few buildings but lives over a clinic that provides medical attention in exchange for favors, just like 500 Sq ft, he lives with Bepo and everyone knows where he lives even though he doesn't want anyone to know where he lives
