Giggling, you shove Kiara away from you and your phone.

“Y/n! You’re drunk and its girl’s night which is two very good reasons not to have your phone.”

“Too late…I already hit send!”

Kiara closes her mouth when your phone starts ringing and you start smiling. “Should I not answer?”

“JJ would blame us, so no.” Sarah says and asks you what exactly you said in the first place to make your boyfriend call you instead of texting back.

“I told him I want a baby.” 

“But he is a big baby!” Cleo states and the other girls agree with hums, thinking just how true that statement is.

Your phone stops ringing before the picture you have for John B contact pops up on your phone screen and the ringing starts again. You press on the green button. “Hey baby.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” You don’t care if your boyfriend can hear you laugh silently, you can’t help it as he yells, and his voice goes in a higher pitch you have ever heard. “You know I’m using John B phone, right? Do you call him baby?”

Another voice in the background yells a no as you say, “I know you baby and knew you would find a way to talk to me.”

JJ huffs. “Ah yes well excuse me if I thought my phone was broken when I read your text but then thought your phone is the broken one.”

“If it was, how could I be talking to you-“

“Do not give me your sass right now or your ass will have handprints on it. Now tell me why the fuck you would text me that you want a baby.”

“I saw this TikTok a couple of days ago where this girl texted her boyfriend it. You had to ruin it by calling instead of texting your response!”

“I don’t have a response!” but he does mutters, “I hate TikTok.”

“I know you do…. baby.”

You don’t need to see his face to know he is trying to hide a smile. But you can hear it in his voice when he says, “You can call me that if you stop with the stupid TikTok trend pranks.”

“Never going to happen baby. I got to keep you on your toes.”

He chuckles.  “You are doing too good of a job.”

“I know. But before you go, I do have a question.” He doesn’t say anything, so you continue. “Would you want a baby one day? With me?”

The silene on the other end makes you check that the call is still connected. It is. “JJ?”

“Yes. Only with you, baby. Not any day soon though, okay? I know you would be the greatest, awesomest, and loveliest mother ever and I really want to be a part of all of the est. But I know with all of my shit, I’m not ready yet. We are both too young and reckless. Well, mostly me but you get what I’m saying, right?”

“Right.”

“Right. Good, right, okay. I love you.”

“I love you too, JJ. Now if you it’s okay with you, I am going to watch some TikTok’s with the girls.” You laugh with him and after saying good night, you hang up.

A few minutes later, when you are scrolling through your Tikok fyp, a text pop up.

“I’m your baby. You’re my baby. That’s all I need right now.”

The girls see it and start planning out loud how long exactly they will wait to make fun of him for being so cute and a simp. You don’t text back but do take a screenshot. Not for a TikTok. To look back on it whenever you want to.

Maybe one day you will print it and put it in a baby album.

On the one hand, I totally love the idea of a slow burn season two #jiara where we watch the writers build up their chemistry and maybe drop little hints that there's Something There™ but nothing totally straightforward until like the emotional finale where something unspoken becomes momentarily spoken and realizations are made and then watching season three really take that romance and run with it like ho baby yes I am here for that.

But on the other hand I'm realizing I might have to wait until 2023 TO SEE A JIARA KISS and honestly don't know if I will survive the wait.

You were getting frustrated with Justin now. Two minutes ago, you were nervous and excited to tell him that you had been in love with him for years. You were hoping he would pick you up and swing you around with glee in his eyes. You knew he felt the same, you could see it in his eyes, in the way he cared for you, spoke to you and talked about you to your friends whenever he thought you weren’t paying attention.

Instead, here he was, yelling at you.

“Why would you even— fuck! I’m a goddamn asshole." He paces over to the kitchen of the Outhouse and slams his fist against the fridge. "I— you— you should be with someone better. You deserve better."

“You're not an asshole, Justin! Why would I love you if you were.”

“But I— I— I was friends with Bryce.”

“Not anymore.”

“I drink, and— and I was a fucking addict!"

“Justin! What the fuck? Stop it." You inch closer to him. "I know you feel the same way about me. What is going on with you?”

“Your parents.” Justin sighs, his voice becoming softer, and quieter. “They wouldn’t want you to be with someone like me.”

“Is that what this is about? Did they say something to you?” 

Justin’s eyes flicker away from you for a second, and you recognise the movement as his signature quirk he does when he is lying or hiding something from you. “Fuck.”

"So they did then." You sigh. "They want you to stay away from me, don't they?”

He small nod would go unnoticed if you weren't stood close enough to him to see the movement. You cross your arms and huff. Anger begins to bubble up inside of you. 

"Well, I don’t care what they said, it doesn’t mean shit!"

"But—"

“No!! Okay? I love you, and you love me. I know it. My parents... they will just have to suck it up and deal with us, because I’m not letting you slip through my fingers after being in love with you for, fuck, for literal years now. I want you, Justin... and you want me too.” Your rant fizzles out when a wave of nerves hit you out of nowhere.

“Right?” You add, hoping more than anything, that he really does feel the same. "I'm right..."

“Yeah... yeah, you are."

I have to start with this one because this one will bring that boy to his hands and knees for you. He wants to be good for you.

Since you call him J, he gives you a J initial necklace he made with beads of both of your favorite colors.

Sweetheart.

You call him this when he's stuck in his own head and you're trying to tell him that everything is okay and you're there for him.

Dork.

He talks with his hands a lot, so when he almost knocks something over or hits something or someone, you call him a dork. He will smile a small smile and stubble over his words a little bit but will act like nothing happened.

Idiot.

You call him baby for the first time when you find him outside running away from a cat. “It’s just a cat, you idiot!”

In case anyone hasn’t read it yet- the jiara surf trip around the world has already been written months ago in an incredible fanfic series called ‘around the world’. I couldn’t believe it was turning canon as when I was watching that scene. HIGHLY recommend it’s one of my favs and the sequel is currently being written as well!
