It seems Jake Zyrus has really found confidence and self-worth in his gender expression. See, he is now comfortable enough to post a photo of him having a grand time at the beach – topless. It is apparent in the picture how for once, Jake Zyrus is happy to show the world who he really is.

Sadly, though, some netizens took this as a cue to bash him once more, and to provide unsolicited comments about his life choices. Here are some of the negative comments his photo received:

In an interview with DJ JhaiHo, Jake Zyrus addressed his bashers and said he simply posted the photo because he was having a good time, and he was just showing who he truly was.

“I have the right to do it like everybody else,” he further explained. “If you want to post a photo na alam mong confident ka, na alam mong proud ka, then why not.”

Still, Jake admitted he understood why some people would get shocked by a photograph such as his: “Naiintindihan ko po yun na parang medyo wild para sa kanila to see a trans man na nakatopless.”

Despite all the hate he’s getting, there are some who chose to support him:
