You guys ever think about the implications of the dca's unmoving faceplate?

I don't know exactly what material it's made of, but I'd assume metal or plastic or a similar unyielding substance. There probably aren't any active sensors there, besides something light-sensitive to allow for the color-swap when switching between Sun and Moon - otherwise, I doubt any further complications would be added to their design, considering Fazco's determination not to waste a single penny.

But think about it - obviously, by that logic, Sun and Moon can't feel their face. If you were to cup their cheeks and hold either side of their faceplate, they wouldn't understand the feeling you're trying to convey.

They'd feel the pressure, sure - but nothing else, nothing tangible. There is no warmth that passes from your palm to their stylized cheek, no soft touch or careful sincerity; only an empty number calculated by the uptick of an empty, unfeeling machine which knows the meaning of the gesture only through the understanding that others have.

Even so, it cannot convey its gratitude; its plastic smile does not bend to the will of emotional facsimiles. Its eyes cannot crinkle with mirth. It can only let out a garbled, artificial expression of gratitude, processed by a microchip the size of the tip of its cold fingers, sent through an electrical current to create a wavelength of sound that you can process - a mere echo of what you send from your heart to their hollow chest cavity.

This is about Hindley:

Heathcliff is the character most often described as tall (and altogether big), with Hindley also being described as tall, as well as Linton, Heathcliff’s son, being said he was tall for his age (which is fitting).

I find so juicy that Heathcliff and Hindley look somewhat alike, at least structure-wise, enough to make Nelly think for one moment Heathcliff could have been him, and scratch the idea because no, that's not Hindley's voice. You resemble the man who destroyed you. It goes both ways. His child looks like his sister. One could think it was her child instead. A stranger will think the boy your son. You'll smile at the irony.

Dipper and Mabel's parents divorce and they get a sick ass adventure with their sick ass Grunkles with a friendly helping of trauma, but when my parents divorce I only get awkward conversations from my bio dad and casual trauma??? I wanna trade!!

What do you think the lady comtesse's personality is like (especially alone without prey to fool). Do you think she's honestly affectionate with her daughter? Do you think she's- friends, or something like that, with the carriage driver and footman, etc.?

I'd love to hear if you have any thoughts of how her personality has shifted from being young noble woman at her social debut to married to vampire and not willing to let her remaining family go. Do you think she was always a bit possessive or it happened after she lost her sons and husband?

Her relationship with Mircalla is… strained. As it would be, when you drag your daughter into hell along with you. Generally speaking she’s doing what she thinks is best for her child even if it’s ’tough love’, especially since she was rather lax with Mircalla when everyone was still alive- sure she was disappointed in her daughter for putting off thoughts of marriage for as long as possible, but her eldest son was married with a child on the way, surely it’s fine to let her act childishly for now… (talking with her about her strange interests in science and literature was only natural. She enjoyed it, even.) ah, but when her husband and sons perished, she had to think. what would be left of the karnsteins, once such a noble race? (Her husband has a brother but like nobody knows how alive or dead he is)(he’s fine) unfortunately for her civil war makes it tough to marry off your daughters and the family name would be erased anyways. So clearly locking herself in a tower to commit suicide and become a vampire (she did her research) was the only rational answer.

she and her husband had a sort of. Transactional marriage, but they were happy enough. They had similar goals and both cared about their children a lot so they didn’t have much to quarrel about.

Anyways Mira and her mother disagree on a lot and it even got to a point where she ran away from the troupe for a while, only for her mother to show up and ‘rescue’ her when she was in a tough spot. Their relationship is a mess but deep down they care about each other, there’s just a lot of resentment and stubbornness on both ends.

Matska met the two karnsteins earlier on in their vampire adventures and tagged along bc she thought to herself. ‘They are trying way too hard to be inconspicuous and it just makes them shadier. I have Got to save them.’ And then she got really attached to them LOL. she’s also a vampire and has been floating around for a long time actually, just laying low. She used to have a coven but they were all slowly picked off, leaving her as the last one standing. :( luckily she’s got her idiot nobles and the rest of the troupe for company now<3

The footmen are assorted revenants, mostly humans who made deals with the vampires. Getting a consistent job to escape an undesirable life and the like. Madame Comtesse’s favorite is this ponytail guy, he’s her right hand arm man silly rabbit and all. He was the man in all black at the masquerade! (he also took a pitchfork to the face/upper body after staying in a town went wrong and nearly died, which is why he’s undead now. The lady in black velvet has a soft spot okay.) (also waow she’s bisexual! Not that she labels herself as anything like that)
