Not my usual Sunday morning post this morning. Today me and Spencer’s ARC Daddy (not tagged as these photos still scare him) and the kids are off to Sheffield to take part in the Jessops Super Hero Event. The event is to help raise funds for The Jessop Wing Of @sheffieldhospitals and to say Thankyou to the staff there. We did the event last year too. We raised over £1000 but it’s not a drop of how much my care would have cost had we not had the brilliant NHS. The team at Jessops went above and beyond during my time spent at the hospital and I will forever be grateful to them. I was diagnosed at 35 weeks with #placentapercreta a rare but life threatening pregnancy complication. I underwent a 5 hour operation to give birth to my littlest twins and to save my life. I lost 11units of blood, suffered a twisted bowel which meant me going back to surgery a week later to fix it. I suffered from a slightly collapsed lung and sepsis. I am one of the lucky ones. I have my babies (now nearly 2) and my life. I have lost my uterus and cervix and have a scar from my belly button down. But I’m alive. It’s the weekend!! If you can’t have cream topped coffee on a weekend when can you? Today is another stay at home chilled / chores type of day as tomorrow we are off out on the Jessop wing park walk to raise funds for the amazing team to put to good use for all those ladies who need them at their most vulnerable time of life. The team at Athens Jessop Wind in @sheffieldhospitals Saved my life. They went above and beyond in their care for me and my twins after my #placentapercreta diagnosis and I will always be thankful.
