Today in New York City, Jerry & Jessica Seinfeld and  #AlisonLoehnis , President of #NETAPORTER and MR PORTER hosted the GOOD+ Foundation and MR PORTER Fatherhood Lunch celebrating the #Fatherhood Initiative program. If I ever have kids some day, I hope they aren’t picky eaters. I was an extremely picky eater as a kid but I am thankful that I am not a picky eater as an adult as I would miss out on so many culinary adventures. I came across this book at my local Goodwill purchased for $1! This is a great book for children and adults who are very picky and do not like vegetables. With every day foods, you can add fruit and vegetable purée to make sure that your family gets their daily servings of fruits and vegetables. Alice + Olivia + Epson

Stacey Bendet, Founder and Creative Director of alice + olivia, held an event earlier this month at the Hole Gallery in Manhattan, to debut her new capsule collection, channeling the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat.  She wanted the room decor evoke the spirit of the artist, and Epson, one of the world’s premiere performance imaging companies, answered the challenge by recreating the Basquiat’s works with wall signage and and projections throughout the event space.

The capsule collection, which benefits the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s young talent initiative, is in keeping with Bendet’s continued collaboration with artists.  Basquiat, one of her favorite artists, rose to prominence in the American art world before the age of 27, making him a particularly suitable subject to serve as a creative influence for young talent.

Bendet featured iconic elements of Basquiat’s work throughout her collection, drawing inspiration from the New York City art scene of the 1980’s. She notes that she used beadwork and embroidery details to add “ a modern dimensional element” to some of the the artist’s most famous works, “obscuring the line between fashion and art.”

As the imaging partner for the event, Epson sought to bring the collaboration of alice + olivia and Basquiat to life within the event space.  Kimberly Michener, Manager, Advertising & Brand, Epson America, Inc., discusses how Epson used their technology to achieve a fashionable and artistic environment.

Can you give some background on how Epson got involved in the Alice and Olivia capsule project?   

  Epson reached out to Alice + Olivia to discuss ways in which we may be able to work together, and out of these discussions, we identified a need for projection and large format printing technology for this event.

  What was the printing process?   

  We leveraged Epson SureColor S-Series 64-inch large format solvent printers for creating the signage, which provide unparalleled levels of productivity, image quality, and reliability.

Were there any challenges in bringing the designer's vision to the event space?

  As mentioned above, Epson printed the Basquiat images showcased in the gallery, as well as providing the projection technology. The Epson SureColor S-Series printers are well suited to the high level of printing required for an event like this – delivering vibrant colors and high level of detail.

Is there anything else that you would like to share about Epson’s role in the event? 

This is part of an ongoing outreach in preparation for the Epson Digital Couture event that will be held in February prior to New York Fashion Week. We are pleased to not only have been part of the event with Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet, but we are honored to have printed Basquiat's works. The event represented an ideal melding of art and fashion and technology – a perfect match for Epson.

So I opened up the new stroller that I was given yesterday in the #gma studio from #goodplus and Caleb refused to get out for one whole hour. He ate and drank his juice in there and watch TV for a while. I had to bribe him with candy to get him out of there. Recipe Remix: Oven "Fried" Chicken

I'm obsessed with fried chicken. I consider myself quite the connoisseur. If it's on the menu, I feel it's my obligation to order it; I have to compare it to the best. So far that list includes Roscoe's House Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles, Art Smith's Table Fifty-Two in Chicago and a tie between Bubby's and Kitchenette right here in my own neighborhood of TriBeCa in New York City. 

I'd eat it weekly, if I could and, let's be honest, some times I do. But when I'm trying to be healthier but still craving that crispness, I turn to the oven-baked variety. It's never as good but it gets the job done and I feel better about myself. 

Especially with this version! Jessica Seinfeld's recipe calls for pureed spinach (butternut squash or carrots) in the batter. I love that she also uses whole wheat flour and egg whites. 

The spinach added to the moisture of the chicken and gave it another dimension of flavor. 

Jessica's recipe calls for drumsticks. We're more of a white meat family, so I opted for breasts. I just pumped up the cooking time a bit since the meat was more dense. 

Hers, I'm sure, also looks much more appetizing than mine. But I had all those extra crumbles and I wasn't about to waste them! They actually were really good on their own. Like a better, more fun version of kale chips. 

Speaking of kale, I paired the chicken with my favorite (and quickest!) salad of lemon, parmesan and kale for an extra dose of greens. I already had the parm. I love when I'm able to use things twice- makes me feel better about my purchase.

Twice? I won't lie, I'll be eating that cheese all week! At least I didn't go fried! 

Swaps: Chicken breasts instead of drumsticks.
