Book of the Week No.26 How To Be Interesting: An Instruction Manual by Jessica Hagy Rate: 10/10 Favorite Line: "If you're not dead, you can still change things." Review: How To Be Interesting (In 10 Simple Steps) is a personal growth self-help book created by Jessica Hagy, published by Workman Publishing in 2013. The book contains exciting 2-dimensional depictions of pithy life lessons that are inspirational and instructional. Overall, the book is so insightful and will really take your mind to a campaign of existential and identity thoughts. The list of points presented by Hagy are all self-reflecting and will make you ponder/wonder on what's going on in our lives. The illustrations like graphs, venn diagrams and cartesian planes are all utilized really well as these was use to compare, expound and elaborate life's intangibles. Honestly, see it for yourself. The whole books is summarized already. In just one sitting, you will really enjoy reading it. After that, get your mindset ready for some changes, for the better. #nonfiction #books #jessicahagy #howtobeinteresting #social #engagement #communication #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booklover #booknerd #bookaddict #bookphotography #goodreads https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf0I7eOJWkr/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

(1/2) I'm worried I'm never going to find my "thing", my purpose, my passion. I feel like I'm doomed to be a part time customer service worker bee my whole life and it petrifies me. I studied an area that very much interested me at college but I came out of it even more lost/confused for options than when I started. It's so broad and I dont feel strong in any one area. I tried using that as an opportunity to give different things a go but none of my internships have lead to anything or excited
(ask continued) ... me. I also have family on my back about finding a full time ~degree worthy job. They're judgemental that I went and cant find anything, which is another problem, even if I did know what I wanted, it's so hard to actually get decent employment. I feel so crap and disheartened and lost. Whenever I tell people I work part time in customer service, they say "BUT U HAVE A DEGREE!" or they make me feel like I picked the wrong discipline. Or that I'm wasting my potential. I'm trying!!
Hey!
Trying to find your calling can be quite a challenge. This is especially true if you are a versatile person, interested in various things, but there is no one thing that feels quite right. The struggle of figuring out what you want to do in life makes so many young adults anxious and confused. It all gets extra complicated and frustrating if your family puts pressure on you to  sort your situation out as soon as possible, or other people just can’t seem to understand how hard it is.
Most of us live under the false presumption that we only have one “thing”. We limit ourselves by trying to fit ourselves into some kind of mold, by focusing on one single interest, one specialty, and ignoring other things that spark our curiosity. You might have more than one interest, more than one passion. And that’s totally cool! I know not having one specific thing in mind can make you feel lost, scattered and like you’re going all over the place, and that it would be easier to have one clear goal to focus on and work towards it. But sometimes there is just not one single solitary thing that is right for us. People are complex. We should allow ourselves to like multiple things and to be good at many things. If multiple things interest you, try to see how you can combine them! Here are some tips: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/multi-passionate-how-build-career-combining-your-interests-barlow
Unfortunately, you might have to stick to your unfulfilling customer service job for a while longer, but that absolutely does not mean that it’s gonna be forever! You might be tempted to settle for it, simply because it’s easier, because it feels more stable right now. But finding something that truly suits and fulfills you is most likely going to involve quite a bit of uncertainty and taking a risk or two. Please find the courage not to give up just because it’s hard! Keep looking, keep trying to understand yourself better and what you like and want for yourself. What topics are you fascinated by? Which of your skills and qualities do you want to show off and to explore further? What would you like to achieve? What kind of life do you want for yourself and what kind of career would help that come true? The question of your purpose is a big one, so naturally, it requires deep and thorough introspection. Seek more information, keep trying yourself throughout different roles and most importantly, give yourself time. Below you will find more information about this topic:

This article from Forbes gives really useful and practical advice on how to make your life better and more worthwhile. This is YOUR life, and I believe that even though it seems like there is no way out or no solution to a problem, your brain lies to you. Try to stay positive and rationally weigh off your options. It’s your philosophical responsibility to make something out of it, or atleast to try, as so many people have to die for no reason while they want to live. Owe it to them. LOVE YOURSELF! <3
