I remember this video and I was so happy that Andrew Garfield talked about this issue and especially for The Child Mind Institute. This organization has been so beneficial in creating a myriad of ways for people-- children, parents, caregivers, anyone really who struggles with mental health issues across the spectrum (our brains are quite complicated!) or cares for a child/teen who does to learn and grow together. They have a YouTube channel with many videos covering a variety of topics and many well known and not so well known people have given their time to discuss what their own perspective has been like. People from the arts, sports, parents, and children talking about anxiety, OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, and much more.
I discovered the Institute prior to COVID because of a family member and I was so grateful because there is, sadly, a shortage of resources in some areas to access mental health professionals and information and the Institute, while centered in the NYC area, has a variety of tools to assist people seeking information from all around the world.
For people interested in further info, here is the YouTube channel.
Here is their website: Child Mind Institute
As an aside, two close friends of Andrew Garfield: Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone have been involved with the institute for many many years. Ms. Stone did a lengthy interview with the president of the Institute, Dr. Harold Koplewicz, MD, and Mr. Eisenberg recorded one or two videos as well I think.
Hats off to everyone who has given their time to this worthy endeavor!
ANDREW GARFIELD
for the "Child Mind Institute", about mental health and on one of the ways he is thrive inside during Covid-19.
"I am a fan of dance, of just moving your body. Look silly. Move your body in a way that feels good to you, expresses you. Let it fly."
