Salt Lake Rotary Cluster Meetings April 18, 2017
Pay a visit to one of our fellow Rotarians and learn about how they spend their time away from Rotary. It’s a great opportunity to see some of the businesses and organizations that support Rotary. YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR PLACE by emailing [email protected], by calling Brett at 801-994-9944 x158, or by speaking with him at a luncheon.  Hurry, spots can go quickly!  RSVP by April 12.
America First Credit Union, Randi Jackson, host
The Innovation Center is an entirely new banking experience. Designed to be part branch, part learning workshop, and part tech playground, it's a unique space where America First members, along with the rest of the community, can get hands-on access to relevant, state-of-the-art technology and financial systems, learn about new tools and opportunities within the credit union and community, and give real-time feedback about what kind of experience they want to have with the credit union in the future.
The first thing that you'll probably notice is that the Innovation Center isn't like the other America First branches you're used to. It's been built not only to showcase cutting-edge hardware and tools, but to let you experiment with them. Of course, you can still make withdrawals and deposits, apply for loans and other services, meet with experts to discuss your financial plans and choices, and anything else you can do at a traditional branch. You'll just be doing all of that in a whole new way.
Ronald McDonald House Charities, Carrie Romano, host
Please join us for a cluster meeting hosted by Carrie Romano, CEO for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area.  Rotarians will enjoy a delicious lunch from Canella’s and tour the beautiful and newly expanded Ronald McDonald House conveniently located at 935 E. Learn about the life-changing mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities and the world-class specialty pediatric care that brings more than 3,500 patient families to Salt Lake City each year.  Rotarians and guests are welcome and invited!

Attendees will also take a tour of our Peak Audio Video and our UL Central Station which there are only three of in the state. We intend on having a Hawaiian Luau, with a roasted pig, teriyaki chicken and authentic Hawaiian dancers.

We will focus our time on Biomedical/Blood services with the expertise of our Medical Director, Dr. Walter Kelley and a blood recipient/donor. We will have an opportunity for you to tour the facility and donate blood if you have time after the presentation. Thanks for joining us and we will have a wonderful Italian meal to top off the experience!
Tracy Aviary,  Tim Brown
This won't be another rubber chicken lunch! Join us at Tracy Aviary and learn about the $30,000,000 renovation efforts that have transformed this cultural asset into one of Salt Lake's finest gems. Regardless of whether the weather is foul, we'll see fowl up close and personal wandering through exhibits including the new indoor Treasures of the Rainforest and the Kennecott Wetlands. In addition to a no-bird lunch, you will learn how and why Tracy Aviary connects people to nature through innovative education programs and citizen science conservation projects. To top off the program, we'll offer some nose-to-beak experiences, so have your cameras ready.

Poised to elevate to an Honors College next year, this distinctive program is preparing students to solve problems, effectively work in diverse groups, and confidently lead our businesses, government agencies and community organizations. One day, you might hire one of these outstanding students. Or, you might find your business competing with theirs. Please come and meet these outstanding students and the Honors Program Director who is guiding them into our collective future.
Legacy Books and Riverton Legacy Home,  John Catron
Let John Catron host you at his historic home in southern Salt Lake Valley, just five minutes from I-15. In 2007 he and his wife, Barbara, began restoring Riverton's first church and schoolhouse, and then added onto it their beautiful southern-style estate home. Take a tour of the grounds and home to learn some of the efforts they put forth in preserving the heritage of the many people who can trace their ancestors through the schoolhouse which has been a church, a meeting place, a dance hall, a post office, a blacksmith shop, and a home over the last 137 years. John is dedicated to preserve the stories of our past, and you'll see how closely the effort to remember early Riverton ties in with his company, Legacy Books, and their desire to save family, community, and corporate legacies. We'd love to have you over.
