AMAZING WOMAN: JERRIE MOCK

“I DID NOT CONFORM TO WHAT GIRLS DID. WHAT THE GIRLS DID WAS BORING,” 

said Jerrie Mock. And one could argue that her refusal to cooperate is what helped to make her great. She became interested in planes at the age of seven, and at one point, she was the only female aeronautical engineering major at Ohio State. Although she was a 38 year-old housewife in 1964, Mock set on a 23,000 flight across the world, becoming the first woman to circumnavigate the globe and finishing what her childhood hero Amelia Earhart never could. And, if that isn't enough, Mock later wrote a successful memoir about her travels, Three-Eight Charlie.
