[12-21-2021] I know I shared this in my "Stories" but here's the progress of my Kenwood DDX6706S headunit with JDM Double-Din dash kit in my 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Spec.B. The OEM stereo had a non-functioning 6-disc changer and no means for an AUX (I was previously using a cheap BlueTooth speaker in my cup holder). I can now listen to the music I like, old CDs I have, all that new-new. Still need to figure out steering wheel controls and AndroidAuto but I can get to that later. I like the look of it (although, it would've been nice to have the shift panel in that matching black as well). I previously had fitment issues (one side had major gaps) but I got that all sorted out. Not perfect but MUCH better. Overall, I'm glad I finally got it done. Just one step closer to having my ideal ride. [12-10-2021] I'm keeping the plastic on until it's ready to be installed but, for the most part, this is what the new head-unit will look like with the JDM dash kit. All I need now is the car itself. I was previously informed that it MIGHT be ready for pickup by this weekend. But knowing my luck and the current pace of things, I'd be lucky if I get it before Christmas. But hey, wishful thinking. So long as it's done correctly and I don't have to come back for a repeated issue (or something caused by the work being done).
