Today's task for #jcfjune is to share #bookmail, and it couldn't be more timely! Because today's mail brought me my June @pagehabit box! And yesterday's mail brought me #bookmarks from @bibliophileprints and #bathbombs from @bubblybellebath! 🎉😍❤😍🎉 . . . . Photos One through Six are of #mypagehabit #unboxing. This box contributed to the sending of books to Botswana (see Photo Two, which also includes a letter from this month's #FantasyBox author and the #PageHabit #bookmark). Photo Three is of my new Gimble Traveler. And Photo Four shares a wonderful set of bookish emotions on puffy stickers from @pagehabit! 😍❤😍 . . . . Photo Five shares this month's short story - Wings by Nidhi Pugalia - and a closer look at the PageHabit bookmark. 😍❤ . . . . And Photo Six is this month's Fantasy book! It's Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse! I'm so happy to have this book, and I know just when I'll read it: for July's #24in48! @24in48 shared a post about Diversity recently, and I will happily make this diverse book my first read for July's #24in48readathon! 😄😍❤ . . . . Photo Seven shares the new bookmarks I bought from Erin @bibliophileprints! I bought extras of the two I purchased in my first order, and then I got two each of three more! I'm in love with these bookmarks! Thank you, Erin! 🎉😍❤ . . . . And lastly, Photo Eight is of the three bath bombs I bought from @bubblybellebath. They came with a free ring! (And it has a lovely purple stone in it. 😍) The bath bombs are their Mellow, Bliss, and Zen bombs. I'm sorry for neglecting #jcfjune posts for so long. Honestly, I was feeling kind of stumped as to what to share for the past few days. But here is one photo for the FOUR days I need to do. 😄😍❤ . . . . 1. June 23: #readin1sitting - All four of the pictured books have been read by me in one sitting at various times in the past. These are my most favorite books, and they have been of great comfort to me when I've had really bad anxiety attacks. So some of them have been read in one LONG sitting back-to-back! 😍❤ . . 2. June 24: #HousePride - I am a Ravenclaw, but I don't own much Ravenclaw stuff (yet). So instead, today I'm celebrating my favorite Gryffindors! I'm reading this series now, about to start book four soon, and I never tire of reading about the adventures of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. 😍❤ . . 3. June 25: #booksinthewild - I took my Gryffindor trio and a quartet of my favorite books out to our near backyard and placed them on a rock in the sun. The shadows in this snap are mostly from the giant agave that is on the left. You can see one of its fronds above Harry and friends. 😍❤ . . 4. June 26 (today!): #VacationReads - As for June 23, all four of these books have been on vacation with me. When I travel, I take my Kindle and phone for new books to read (Kindle App and Audible App), and then I pack a few favorites (usually these) to reread "just in case." And sometimes, it's just nice to revisit "home" when I'm away. These books are so loved by me that, wherever they are, I'm home. 😊😍❤ . . As it turned out, I was overthinking what I should post for the past three days. When today's task for Vacation Reads rolled around, I immediately thought of comfort reads for vacations, which led to these four books, which then led to me figuring out what to post for my missed days, as shared above. 😊❤ . . . . Today's June 19th task for #jcfjune is to share my #faveseries. I am sharing A favorite series, since I'm currently reading it! 😄❤ . . . . It is, of course, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Pictured are the first three books, which I have now reread (finished the third book over an hour ago), with the fourth book, which is next up for me. (Although I might read a different book, first.) 😊❤ . . . . I really love this series. 😍 (Even though books six and seven rip out my heart and dance upon it with great glee. 😭) 😄❤ . . . . Today's June 16 task for #jcfjune is to share #bookmarks. I gathered all of the bookmarks I had on the coffee table and put them around Max for a nice photo. . . and then he moved, so now there's blank rug space in the lower left. 😕 . . . . Still though, here are bookmarks with my Max! Unfortunately, the only one of these I really use is the tasseled Inside Out "Every Day Is Full of Emotions" one. I have this one x2: the other one is in Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson, the book I am #CurrentlyReading! 😄🎉❤ . . . . Unfortunately, I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with me. I started Undead Girl Gang this morning and took a 2.5 hour nap on page 62. Page 62 is NOT where a Chapter begins or ends; it's in the middle of Chapter Six! 😕🙈😔 . . . . It was rainy again today. I think Monsoon Season has begun here. Maybe that made me sleepy? Or it might have been the just-six-hours of sleep I got last night. ??? 🤔 . . . . But I think it might be this story. I'm on page 62 and STILL waiting for the Undead Girl Gang to be brought back to life. It says this will happen in the jacket description, but. . . WHEN? ??? 🤔😔😕 . . . . Anyway, I'm awake again now (have been for around an hour; spent some time looking through Instagram posts of people I follow), so I'm going to read more. I don't want to DNF this book. Today's June 13 task for #jcfjune is to share a #bookishhabit. I was stumped as to what to share, but in looking at recent #jcfjune posts, I found inspiration. 😊❤ . . . . A bad bookish habit I have is "buying" free Kindle books, only to not read them. Honestly, I thought I had a lot more than 2,092, but maybe some were removed? 🤔 . . . . I even sometimes truly buy Kindle editions, but do I read them? Rarely. VERY rarely. 😕 . . . . Max in Photo One above is shown sleeping across the room from me. Perhaps not coincidentally, but he's pretty much directly under the ceiling fan in this spot. 😊 Meanwhile, I'm thinking about putting on a sweater, as the air conditioner is now on and between it and the ceiling fan, I'm getting a chill. 😨 . . . . Photo Two was taken at 2:20a this morning, not long after I started Booked 4 Murder by J.C. Eaton. Max's foot is in that oh-so-awkward position because he was licking it. #SeasonalSeries Update! With today's #jcfjune post! I'm on page 303/496 in Child of a Mad God by R.A. Salvatore. This is the book I'm using for the G18 square: Use a flower as a bookmark. I have random pieces of paper (and a flower) marking the pages where I stop for the day. So that I'll know when I read this book. 😊 . . . . For instance, on Day One, I paused on page 52. Day One was June 1st. On Day Two, June 3rd, I read to page 90 (start of Chapter 6). And then on Day Three, June 8th, I read to page 200 and the start of Chapter 15. . I'm hoping to finish this book today. I feel like it's taking me too long to read it, but in reality, when I started this book I was reading for a Quidditch match in a team challenge in a group on Goodreads and just didn't have time to read much. Now that the Quidditch match is over, I can read this book and only this book. 😊🎉❤ . . . . Oh! And today's #jcfjune task is to share an #openbook. Now please excuse me while I go back to reading Child of a Mad God. Today's June 17th task for #jcfjune is to share a book I #DNF. Apart from two books that I DNFed because of MASSIVE spelling and grammar errors - and that I no longer have in my possession - the only book I've ever actually DNFed is this audio of Half-Resurrection Blues by Daniel José Older. 😕 . . . . I tried listening to this audiobook a year or two ago. I made it past the halfway point before giving up because I was not a fan of Daniel José Older's performance. As the book went on, all of the characters began sounding more and more alike. I couldn't tell who was talking or when they started talking and finally I got so confused that I abandoned this book. 😭 . . . . I DO also own this book in mass market paperback format. Someday I will read it. Hopefully I'll enjoy the story if I read it myself. 😊❤ . . . . Both of the Max photos with this post are older photos of him. The one on the right is from a few days ago. The one on the left is nearly five years old, taken when he was just an itty-bitty baby-baby. 😍❤😍 . . . . #Cramathon Update! With today's June 15th task for #jcfjune! 😄🎉❤ . . . . I finished my book for the 4th, "LGBTQIA+ own-voices book," #Cramathon challenge! Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore was good and it made me cry towards the end, but. . . I think it was too slowly paced for me. I had trouble staying awake while reading it, and, in fact, I started it yesterday and only finished it today! And I only had around 110 pages to go in it. 😕 . . . . I was feeling lost as to how many stars to give this book, but I think I gave away my rating above: "[it] was good..., but..." So I think three stars suits how I felt about this story. ⭐⭐⭐😕 . . . . For #jcfjune, today's task is to share a #nakedhardcover. I unknowingly shared one yesterday, since I started Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore yesterday and I take the dust jackets off of my hardcover reads. But here it is again in Photo One above! I love its deep green color. 😍🎉❤ . . . . Photos Two through Four share the #Cramathon reading challenges and then my list of the tasks with the books I've either read or need to read for them. Next up for me is the book that's been on my TBR for a long time: Staked by Kevin Hearne! I'm going to buy the Audible edition of this book to help me finish it today. Today's June 4 task for #jcfjune is to share a #bookcrown. I could only think of ONE book that has a crown on its cover, but I own it, so here it is! It's The Cruel Prince by Holly Black! 😍❤😍 . . . . With it I have the FOUR books I read today (plus Sleepy Max). The three on the left of Max's nose were all started today and finished today (*681 pages total*). The one to the right of Max's nose is the one I am going to start soon after posting this post. (I won't be able to finish this book today.) 😍❤ . . . . What are these books? 🤔 . . . 1. Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger, 4⭐. 2. Coraline by Neil Gaiman, 4⭐. 3. Lustlocked by Matt Wallace, 5⭐. 4. The Aeronaut's Windlass by Jim Butcher. . If you scroll to see the second picture, you'll see that I also have all four of these books in my Audible app. I listened to E&E at 2x speed and C and L at 3x speed. (Rereads I can listen to FAST so long as I read along. New-to-me books have to be listened to at 2x speed while I read along or I get completely lost.) ❤ . . . . The Aeronaut's Windlass is a book I will listen to at 3x speed (it's a reread), so I will hope to finish this +21-hour audiobook tomorrow morning. It's 9:40p now. Hopefully I'll be able to make it a good portion through it before I need sleep tonight. 😊❤ . . . . And now I'd best get started on my 4th book for today.
