A whole different life and whole different future of an orphanated very young elephant in Sri Lanka’s elephant santuary.

One of his leg was ambushed. Once, the vet said he could not make it and should be put down. However, LOVE AND COMPASSION of an elephant santuary and a dedicated elephant trainer and carer gave a miracle chance for the little elephant to thrive, to grow up healthy and to lead other elephants in the santuary. Being a disable and orphanate cub, Namir was rejected and sometimes bullies by other elephants when he first came. Yet over time, it built deep bonds with his human carer who treated Namir as his little baby

Elephants enjoy relatively high sacred status in the religious belief of Sril Lankan people. Elephants and Sri Lanka people co-share 44% of the lands in the country. Sri Lanka also faces increasing elephants injuries and deaths caused by conflicts and competition of lands between human beings and wildlives as a result of loss of natural habitats. There had been 21 incidents involving posioning of elephants in recent 4 years according to Sri Lanka Wildlives Conservation Bureau. 

The elephant santuaries provide the last shelter paradises for the struggling elephants. It is there the touching story of one elephant carer and one elephant took off. If according to the cruel Darwin law, Namir would have zero chance to survive BUT ACCORDING TO THE LOVING CARING GOOD SIDE of humanity, here the story of a young elephant changes.
