The music flowed through Jukebox Junction, prompting Beau to tap his toes in time with the rhythm. He wrapped his fingers around his rum and coke, glancing around at the patrons at the bar. The full moon had just passed, bringing Beau a sense of relief. On full moon nights, he typically isolates himself to avoid any chance of harming a human, preferring the safety of seclusion and chains. Tonight, with the moon's power waning, he felt more at ease, though the residual effects still lingered.

In the days leading up to and following the full moon, Beau experienced heightened libido, a side effect of his werewolf nature. Recently, he had managed to satisfy these urges, but tonight, he was struggling to find the person he usually turned to. As he scanned the faces in the bar, his eyes locked onto a familiar one. Beau's pupils dilated, and without breaking his gaze, he downed his drink and signaled the bartender for two more. Once served, he grabbed the glasses and made his way over to the vampire who had captured his attention.

Approaching from behind, Beau leaned in close to Jay's ear. "I thought I smelled soil, rosemary, some mint, and..." He inhaled deeply, savoring the scent of Jay's skin. "Fig?" Moving in front of Jay, he placed the drink in front of him giving Jay an easy smile. "Is that new, or have I been too preoccupied to notice?"

Why would a vampire be at a restaurant? Vivienne often asked herself this, yet she found herself drawn to these places time and again. She loved watching humans live their fleeting lives, fascinated by the trivialities that occupied them. With only so many years to their name, how did they choose to spend their time? Sitting in restaurants, chatting, eating, and laughing. It was all very charming, really. The sound of their laughter and the murmur of their conversations created a comforting hum, like the distant buzzing of bees.

But beyond the charm, there was also the tantalizing scent of their clogged arteries, thick with rich, greasy food. It always made Vi's mouth water. She was outside, smoking a cigarette, her eyes half-lidded as she savored the sweet burn of the smoke, while her consorts were inside enjoying a meal that would clog their arteries perfectly for her to taste later.

As she leaned against the wall, blowing smoke rings into the foggy air, she spotted him. Jason. He was walking toward The Golden Spoon, his gait casual, that familiar smile on his face. For a moment, Vivienne felt a pang of something almost like guilt. If there was one thing she regretted, it was accidentally killing him that night. His smile had reminded her so much of Gregory’s—warm, inviting, full of life. In her frenzy, she had taken that away. But in a twisted turn of fate, she had made a new son that night.

A slow smile spread across her lips as she watched him approach, excitement bubbling up inside her. Snuffing out her cigarette with a quick twist of her heel, she moved toward him, closing the distance in a heartbeat. "Jason!" she exclaimed, her voice bright with delight. "You're here? In Raven's Peak!"

Her laughter bubbled up, light and melodic, as she looked him over, as if seeing him for the first time all over again. "I never thought I would see you again! But here you are!" The words spilled out, genuine joy coloring her tone, the past forgotten in the rush of the present moment.

Emily watched him for a moment as he examined the bike, sometimes forgetting how old he actually was. She was always reminded when she showed him new tech or had to explain what a meme was and why he should find it hilarious. In this moment, as Jay looked at the bikes and asked about a joystick, she smiled. "Uh, sort of. A joystick is a pretty good comparison."

Emily leaned forward, put quarters in their machines, and hit the two-player option. "Okay, you pick the type of bike you want by using the bike you're sitting on." She demonstrated, moving the bike to select a model and then making choices for their course as well. The "Ready?" screen started flashing. "See you on the other side, Park." Emily grinned and revved her pixel engine as the countdown for the race began.

Jay did know that about her, which was why he had made the effort to be on time for once. She didn’t seem bothered though, so Jay stopped himself from apologizing again. He did, however, mouth a silent apology to the prize counter employee before following after Emily.

“Bikes?” He couldn’t hide his surprise. He let her take his hand and guide him to where this machine was hiding. Because it must be, for him not to have noticed it last time. It wasn’t hidden at all, as it turned out. Jay had just been overwhelmed by it all to notice it the first time. He approached more cautiously than Emily did, putting his hand over the seat and moving the motorbike from side to side. “Is it mounted on a giant joystick or something?” He didn’t wait for an answer as he climbed on, keeping his feet on the ground to prevent the motorbike from tilting. “Okay,” he said, testing the handles for the gas. “Lets do it!”

JAY would teach you how to play the guitar if you showed interest in learning it! is a good teacher. probably gets distracted when you're focused on playing the guitar with your eyebrows furrowing, and your adorable focused look. he'll randomly kiss your cheek sometimes which breaks your focus, and turn you into a huge blushing mess once you realize what he did.

she went between both tattoo shops, but jay had done the tattoo of the planets down her spine and she wanted him to be the one to do the touchup because it really needed one. she walked into the shop and wrinkled up her nose at kaz behind the counter and stuck her tongue out at him before she nodded to the room where jay was and kaz nodded before she headed inside. "i'm a little early, but that doesn't look to be a problem..." she said, smiling at her friend. "no one but you and kaz here, so." mia dropped her bag on the couch and she placed her hands on her hips. "how much is the touchup?" she asked and grabbed her card, she always paid before because she trusted him with her life and all of her tattoos.

"hold  on,  you're  uh...  you've  been  with  us  at  the  ranch,  right?"  they'd  been  such  a  big  group  &  silas  had  been  so  busy  trying  not  to  strangle  alejandro  &  then  there'd  been  that  damn  horse.  he'd  needed  that  fight  in  the  end,  needed  it  to  cool  off,  but  it  appeared  like  they'd  been  led  there  for  nothing.  unless  the  cowboys  tricked  everybody.  he'd  been  so  close  when  the  zeus  kid  stopped  them. 

now,  silas  didn't  necessarily  support  taking  down  innocent  people,  but  he'd  really  ...really  wanted  to.  gods,  he  did.  he  knew  he  wasn't  the  only  one  who  didn't  quite  trust  them,  but  ...  they  didn't  have  too  many  options,  did  they?  go  against  the  group?  nah.  "we  never  got  t'fight,  but...  what's  it  you  do?  if  ya  don'  mind  me  askin'."  silas  had  yet  to  fight  side  by  side  with  everybody  yet,  find  out  what  their  powers  were  &  categorize  them  in  ...  well,  synergy  or  not. 

he  found  that  in  fights  like  they  were  facing,  with  unknown  enemies  &  barely  any  time  to  prepare  -  with  constant  adjustments  to  the  enemy  playstyle  being  key,  it  was  even  more  important  to  know  what  every  teammate  was  good  at.

How do you think 001 feels about Mike? And do you think it's a coincidence that 001 waits to start his season 4 plans until Mike's leaving town?

I love the scene in season 2 where Will's at the lab and Dr. Owens asks if he remembers Mike. 001 drops both the word "friend" and Mike's name with such interesting weight and emphasis, I love the delivery! It makes me think that 001 is far from fond of Mike already, and then Mike goes on to help bring back Will to himself in the shed to foil 001's plans, and then Mike does it again in season 4 in Eleven's mind fight scene with his speech lol.

Maybe it's weird, but I want 001 to have a specific and personal hatred for Mike because of all the good that Mike does for the people he loves. It contrasts 001's destruction of his own family and the kids in the lab so well! They're great foils for each other.

Ooooh, I don't think I've ever talked about this, but I actually think abt these things so often! 😅

I fully believe that 001 knows Mike is the one who comes up with the plans that stop him every time. I don't necessarily know if he waited until Mike left town to start his s4 plans because of the victims all having symptoms before then, but I wouldn't doubt him maybe taking advantage of it? If there's any way he knew Mike would be gone that specific week (like if he's been spying on them the whole time 👀), then he 100% waited! I think this is very very likely considering that it would be one hell of a coincidence if not!

I think you're spot on about the delivery on Mike's name in that one s2 scene, as well! I think that might've also been when the MF/Vecna learned Mike's name? Or something? Like you said, he definitely is already not fond of Mike either way, but I do wonder why. Mike hadn't necessarily done anything to the UD creatures in s1. He led the party, though, and was the one closest to El, so maybe he picked up on that? Then the MF witnessing first-hand Mike's worry and attentiveness towards Will, he probably was disgusted by how much care he gave to those around him 😅. Then ofc, by s4, 001 would have every reason to have it out for my boy. The plans he's made over the seasons, his weird connection/sixth sense to anything UD related (which I really wanna make a post about), and just the fact that he's the closes to both his main victim and his enemy? Mike's just asking for it at this point! 😂

I agree completely that Vecna and Mike are the perfect foils for each other, and I can only hope that the Duffers take full advantage of this (I mean... they're the ones who wrote it soooo)!

P.S. don't worry, if your hope for Vecna having a personal vendetta against Mike is weird, we can be weird together! 😉

Kara had been wandering the venue, really taking it all in and absorbing the ambiance. It still felt like the Midnight Mirage lounge club of the past in almost all ways, but there were still subtle differences that she was appreciating. She wondered how much of it was just put on for the masquerade celebration and how much of it was going to stick around for the future. Glancing at the person who stood nearby, studying the artwork with her, Kara spoke. "Do you think they're going for something new or something old? I mean, this place is a staple in Ravens Peak, right? Can't change it too much or you might disappoint the fans. But I definitely like what they've got going tonight, so far."

Jay   has   definitely   been   a...Interesting   person   to   meet.   But   he   knew   that   the   man   could   be   valuable.   Mages   and   healers   likely   did   a   lot   of   work   together   in   Milo's   eyes.   Both   of   them   being   more   distanced   fighters.   So   Milo   wanted   to   at   least   attempt   to   befriend   one   person   that   he   knew   would   have   his   back. 

Whether   his   snarkiness   and   trollness   let   him   do   that   though?   That   was   another   issue   all   together.

Milo   had   been   told   by   Jay   to   meet   him   at   the   training   grounds.   With   his   power   practically   vibrating   through   him,   Milo   was   excited   to   see   just   how   these   people   truly   trained.   Watching   from   the   sidelines   these   past   few   days   had   been   cute.   But   Milo   was   ready   to   become   the   superhero   icon   that   he   was   clearly   destined   to   be. 

"Hey   bro!   How's   it   going?"   Milo's   facade   was   back   in   place   as   he   smiled   at   hte   other.   No   one   ever   overestimated   a   dumb   himbo,   and   Milo   had   worked   hard   for   a   lot   of   his   life   to   make   sure   that   his   body   fit   that   bill.   But   his   speed   and   flexibility   was   where   he   truly   shined.   Along   with   his   brains,   but   he   didn't   feel   the   need   to   tell   that   to   the   others.   Not   yet,   at   least. 

"So...How   do   you   demigods   start   off   training?   Hit   me   with   your   wisedom,   old   wise   one."   Milo   asked   with   a   smirk   and   even   bowed   in   the   other   man's   direction.

Atticus and the rest of the game's participants hollered and cheered as Jay tossed back the contents of the Kings Cup, none of them envying him but all having been in his same position at some point that night.

"Yeah alright, big man." He laughed, clapping Jay on the chest. "Let's go get you a beer. New game in a few?"

This is directed to Sabrina and the others, who simply nod as Atticus uses the arm slung over Jay's shoulder to steer them towards the kitchen (or at least towards where he thinks is the kitchen).

"Hey now, don't hate the player. Hate the game, 'cause I can promise you that nobody's wasting the good shit on it."

Scanning the contents of the makeshift bar on the kitchen island, there didn't seem to be any good shit available to waste at all.

"You think that was bad?" Atticus gestured back vaguely towards the room they'd just come from before reaching for a new red Solo. "Try playing around the holidays when the losing cup's half eggnog, talk about fucking disgusting."

Jay shakes his head. "Remind me to be more careful drinking around you," he mutters as he reaches for the glass, picking it up and examining the color of the liquid. He wasn't sure exactly what the fuck Atticus could have put together but it's a fun game, at least he isn't drinking alone at the bar.

He turns his head to look over at Atticus, trying to figure out what Sabrina could have been drinking. It might not be too bad. It's better than whatever the hell has been served to him before. What was it? The liquor in the mat or whatever. He picks up the drink and tosses it back in one swift motion, scrunching up his nose.

"I'm going to need a beer," he grumbles. "Kind of. All I know is some of you have ass taste in liquor."

"Here." Cami placed a still steaming bowl of chili and a plate of jalepeno laced cornbread on the picnic table in front of him. Her grandmother fed those working on their land at least two meals a day for several decades. She'd be damned if that tradition went to waste now that Willowing Pines fell to her hands.

So, she nodded at the food in a way that brokered no arguments, then circled the table to take a seat right on top of the old, weather beaten wood.

"You think I'm crazy to think we could actually start up a sanctuary and rehab center here, Jay?" By now most of her employees knew the bank denied her the necessary loan to get the idea up off the ground. And, to most of her employees, she smiled anyway and kept up a brave face.

Why she voiced her real fears to him, now, she wasn't sure.

"I mean, I've only been at this by myself for less than two years, right?" That was rhetorical; she knew when she'd taken over at Willowing Pines down to the minute and the day. Without pause, Cami swiped one of the thick slabs of cornbread meant for Jay, inhaled half, then continued, "Wanting to go that route was probably biting off more than I could chew anyway."
