A little laugh escaped from Abel Teller’s mouth as you chased him around the playground. He was one of the kids in your preschool class, and he happened to be one of your favorites. This definitely didn’t have anything to do with who his daddy was. That was a lie. Abel was a great kid to have around, sweet and playful, so he wasn’t hard to adore. But, his dad, SAMCRO VP Jax Teller really sealed the deal for you.
You had moved to Charming about seven years ago to complete school and start your career. You had worked as a cashier at the local grocery store. During your monotonous daily conversations, someone caught your eye. He was gorgeous to say the least. Tall, blonde, with big blue eyes and an attitude that could kill. He always came in with a motorcycle club vest on and you were beyond curious. Now, you had never been one to shy away from conversation, but this gorgeous man made you an awkward mess of nerves. You were normally quiet around him, nothing was said other than the normal “Did you find everything okay” questions. You were busy scanning when he spoke. “(Y/n). That’s pretty. I’m Jax Teller.” Your face flushed at the compliment and he let out a hearty laugh. That was that. The two of you began to get to know each other. You learned that he was in a motorcycle club known as SAMCRO and that his vest was called a cut. He learned that you were finishing your degree in early childhood education. Over the years, your friendship grew and grew. You hoped for something more, but Jax didn’t seem to be too interested. After all, he alternated between panicking about Wendy and Tara.
Regardless of your feelings for Jax, you didn’t let it get in the way of the friendship that you two shared. You’d rather have him in your life as a friend than not have him in your life at all. Jax went about his life in the club and you completed your education. Life was good. You were a preschool teacher with the adorable Abel Teller in your class. You really couldn’t complain.

The end of the day came fast. It seems that time flies when you’re having fun. You were currently standing outside with the kids, waiting for their parents to pick them up. Your (h/l), (h/c) hair was whipping around in the wind as you watched the kids laugh and play. You bent down to help a girl tie her shoe when you heard a familiar voice. “Hey Abel, Grandmas here!” Your head shot up and you made eye contact with Gemma, Jax’s mom. “Hey, (y/n). How was he today?” You smiled and looked down at Abel. “As always he was a joy. This young man has some fantastic manners.” You winked at Abel and ruffled his hair. He beamed up at you and Gemma. “Well he definitely didn’t learn them from his daddy.” “Ain’t that the truth.” You and Gemma erupted into a fit of giggles. “Well, (y/n), I’m having family dinner later this evening. Would you like to come? I’m sure Jackson would be happy to see you.” You smiled. “I would love to.” Gemma smiled at you and pulled you in for a hug. “Be there at 7 sharp, sweetheart.” You nodded. “Yes ma’am.”

Dinner was great. You had always gotten along fantastically with the SAMCRO boys. They loved you. On many occasions they had told you that they thought you and Jax would make a great couple. It was always nice to hear, but you felt as though it would never happen, so you always just awkwardly laughed and brushed it off.
The night was drawing to a close and you decided you needed to be heading home. You said your goodbyes to everyone and Jax offered to walk you out. You smiled and accepted. As the two of you walked out Jax began to talk. “(Y/n), there’s something that I want to talk to you about.” He looked nervous and had a slight blush on his face. This in turn made you nervous. “What?” Jax chuckled. “Don’t be so nervous, (y/n). It’s not bad. Uh well, depending on what you think it won’t be bad.” You and Jax had made it to your truck. Your heart felt like it was going to beat out of your chest. “Jax, you know that starting a conversation like that is the absolute wrong way to go.” He laughed again and pulled the tailgate on your truck down. Jax hopped up and patted the spot next to him, motioning for you to come sit.
You did, still feeling like you were going to explode. “So, (y/n). I don’t really know how to start this.” You nodded and opened your mouth to say something before Jax cut you off. “Wait, I’m gonna lose my nerve if you don’t let me finish.” You erupted into a fit of giggles. “My, Jax Teller being nervous? I’ve never heard of such a thing.” Jax rolled his eyes at you and all you could do was smile at him. “Look, (y/n). You’ve been in my life for seven years now. You’ve been by my side throughout every single thing with Wendy and Tara.” You began to play with your hands. You were beyond nervous. “My mom loves you. The club loves you. Abel loves you.” A smile bloomed on your face. Gemma and Abel and the club were your family here, no matter what you knew that you always had them. “Abel talks about you nonstop. He comes home everyday excited about what he learned in Ms. (Y/l/n)’s class.” “Well, I’m glad that he enjoys school so much.” Jax nodded.
The two of you fell into a slightly awkward silence. You had no idea what to say. Maybe Jax was just trying to be nice to you. You couldn’t read him at the moment. Jax had never been this outwardly nervous around you in the seven years that you two had known each other. You sighed and flopped down on your back, looking up at the stars. Jax did the same. Your heart was pounding as you got a moment of bravery. You reached out and grabbed Jax’s hand. His giant hand squeezed yours as he took a deep breath. “(Y/n), I’m in love with you. I want you to be my Old Lady. I know that the club life isn’t for everyone, but like I said, everyone loves you. You’ve seen it all, and-”. You couldn’t believe what he had just said. “Jax…” You propped yourself up on your arm to look over at him.
“I’m sorry, (y/n). I shouldn’t have said anything. Please don’t tell anyone about this.” Your eyes widened as you looked at the nervous biker. “Jax, stop.” He opened his mouth to say something, but you cut him off by pressing your lips into his. It was gentle and soft, the exact opposite of Jackson Teller. He laced a big hand into you (h/c) hair. Your hand was on his neck and you were in heaven. You broke the kiss and looked into his beautiful blue eyes. “I love you too, Jax. I have forever.” Jax smiled and chuckled a little bit. “Me too, (y/n). I just wasn’t sure how you felt. I didn’t want to damage our friendship.” You nodded. “Jax, I was scared too. But, there’s no reason. Jax smiled and kissed you again. You never wanted him to stop.
“God, get a room, kids.” You heard Tig say as he walked by the two of you. You heard a couple of laughs that most likely belonged to Bobby and Chibs. You and Jax laughed and both collapsed into the bed of the truck. You rested your head on his shoulder as he pulled you into him. “So, what do we tell Abel? And please tell me that Gemma isn’t going to kick my ass.” Jax laughed again. “We’ll deal with all of that tomorrow.” You smiled and planted a kiss on Jax, your new Old Man’s, cheek. “I’m in love with you, Jax Teller.”
