Eight former Florida Gators are participating in the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine (National Invitational Camp) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis from Feb. 26 to March 4. The event consists of more than 300 players being put through a series of drills, tests and interviews while more than 600 NFL personnel in attendance (including coaching staffs, executives, player personnel and medical staffs) look on and evaluate each of them. It amounts to a major job interview for these athletes to participate in ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft on April 25-27. Let’s take a look at where everyone stands as of Saturday. MEASUREMENTS, WORKOUTS ^ Redshirt junior | * Junior Offensive lineman Martez Ivey (OL27) Height: 6’5″ | Weight: 315 lbs. Arm length: 36 1/4″ | Hand size: 10 3/8″ Bench press / workout: Did not participate Analysis: Ivey chose not to do anything other than get measured and interviewed during his time in Indianapolis. Due to an inconsistent career, the former five-star prospect is expected by most to play guard rather than tackle at the next level. Not much has come out about whether Ivey helped or hurt himself this week, though he did have the longest arms in the class and remains an expected weekend draft selection. Arm length: 34″ | Hand size: 10 5/8″ Bench press / workout: Did not participate Analysis: Johnson projects as a end-of-roster player and special teamer on the next level, so it makes sense that he wanted to continue preparing for the bench press and drills and give them his best shot at Pro Day. Arm length: 35 1/8″ | Hand size: 10″ Bench press: 24 reps of 225 lbs. Workout: Did not participate Analysis: Taylor weighed in 20 pounds less than his listed weight at Florida, and he’s down more than 65 pounds from what he weighed as a junior in high school. Though he did not participate in the workout due to an injury — he is expected to at UF Pro Day — Taylor one of the early stars of the combine. It was thought that he would project as a right tackle at the next level, but now some are anticipating that he could go among the top 10 picks in the draft. Running back Jordan Scarlett^ (RB21) Height: 5’11” | Weight: 208 lbs. Arm length: 30 3/8″ | Hand size: 8 7/8″ 40-yard dash: 4.47 seconds (third-fastest) Bench press: 21 reps of 225 lbs. Vertical jump: 30.0″ (fifth-shortest) | Broad jump: 116.0″ (third-shortest) 3 cone drill: 7.37 seconds (fourth-slowest) | 20-yard shuttle: 4.63 seconds (slowest) Analysis: Already expected to be a Day 3 selection, Scarlett did not do himself many favors with his lacking workout. Yes, he was among the fastest running backs tested, but his side-to-side agility and athleticism will raise some concern, which will likely keep his stock low. That said, all a team needs to do is actually watch his Gators film to see what Scarlett can do with the ball in his hands when he gets some blocking. Also, his numbers compared quite closely with those posted by Dalvin Cook a couple years ago. 4.49 for Florida RB Jordan Scarlett #Gators pic.twitter.com/dbT5M7w0Ui — Brad Crawford (@BCrawford247) March 1, 2019 .@GatorsFB RB Jordan Scarlett speaking on growing his game w/the #Gators pic.twitter.com/C6YIxD01mY — Emory Hunt (@FBallGameplan) February 28, 2019 Defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson (DL41) Height: 6’1″ | Weight: 266 lbs. Arm length: 33 5/8″ | Hand size: 9 5/8″ Bench press: 17 reps of 225 lbs. (second-worst among DL) Defensive lineman Jachai Polite (DL48) Height: 6’3″ | Weight: 258 lbs. Arm length: 32 5/8″ | Hand size: 9 3/4″ Bench press: Did not participate Linebacker Vosean Joseph (LB28) Height: 6’1″ | Weight: 230 lbs. Arm length: 31 3/8″ | Hand size: 9 5/8″ Bench press: Did not participate Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson (DB48) Height: 5’11” | Weight: 210 lbs. Arm length: 30 7/8″ | Hand size: 9 1/4″ REMAINING SCHEDULE Psychological testing, NFLPA Meeting, bench press, interviews Sun. — Groups 10-11 On-field workout (timing, stations, skill drills), departure Sun. — Groups 7-9 | Mon. — Groups 10-11 #JawaanTaylor #JordanScarlett #NflCombine
