Jaw Fillers Near me: How to Achieve a Defined Jawline
A well-defined jawline is often associated with youthfulness and a balanced facial profile. For many seeking to enhance their appearance, jaw filler near me present a popular non-surgical option to achieve a more sculpted jawline. The process involves injecting dermal fillers to add volume and shape to the jaw area, providing a more contoured and defined look. This comprehensive guide offers insights into how to find the best jaw fillers near you and how to achieve a defined jawline effectively.
Understanding Jaw Fillers
Jaw fillers are injectable treatments designed to enhance the shape and structure of the jawline. They work by adding volume to specific areas, which can help to create a sharper, more defined contour. The most common types of fillers used for this purpose are hyaluronic acid-based, as well as those made from calcium hydroxylapatite and poly-L-lactic acid. Hyaluronic acid fillers are favored for their ability to add natural-looking volume and smooth contours, while calcium hydroxylapatite fillers offer more substantial volume and longer-lasting results. Poly-L-lactic acid fillers, known for stimulating collagen production, can provide gradual and long-lasting enhancements over time.
Evaluating Your Goals
Before seeking jaw fillers, it is crucial to understand your specific goals and desired outcomes. Consider what you wish to achieve with the treatmentâwhether it is to enhance a weak jawline, reduce the appearance of jowls, or achieve a more angular appearance. Identifying your aesthetic goals will help you communicate effectively with your provider and determine the most suitable treatment approach. Different types of fillers and techniques can produce varying results, so having a clear idea of what you want will guide you in making informed decisions.
Finding Local Providers
The first step in achieving a defined jawline with fillers is finding a reputable provider in your area. Start by researching clinics and practitioners specializing in facial aesthetics and jaw contouring. Use online resources such as search engines, social media platforms, and review sites to gather information about local providers. Look for clinics with positive patient reviews, high ratings, and examples of previous work. Reviews and before-and-after photos can offer insights into the providerâs skill level and the results they can achieve.
Assessing Provider Qualifications
When selecting a provider, evaluating their qualifications and experience is essential. Look for practitioners who are board-certified in dermatology, plastic surgery, or another relevant specialty. Board certification indicates that the provider has undergone rigorous training and adheres to high standards of practice. Additionally, consider the providerâs experience with jaw fillers specifically. An experienced practitioner will have refined their techniques and possess a deep understanding of facial anatomy, contributing to more precise and natural-looking results.
Scheduling Consultations
Once you have identified potential providers, schedule consultations to discuss your goals and explore treatment options. During the consultation, the provider should conduct a thorough assessment of your jawline and facial structure. They should discuss the different types of fillers available, their benefits, and potential risks or side effects. A comprehensive consultation allows you to gauge the providerâs expertise, communication skills, and approach to personalized care. It also provides an opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns you may have about the procedure.
Understanding Treatment Options
Top providers should offer a range of filler options to suit different needs and preferences. The provider should recommend a filler that aligns with your goals, whether you seek to add volume to the jawline, enhance definition, or reduce the appearance of jowls. They should explain the characteristics of each type of filler, including its longevity, texture, and suitability for different areas of the jaw. Customization is key to achieving natural-looking results, so ensure that the provider tailors the treatment plan to your specific facial structure and aesthetic goals.
Considering Safety and Hygiene
Safety is a critical consideration when undergoing jaw filler treatments. Ensure that the clinic adheres to strict hygiene and safety protocols to minimize the risk of complications. The clinic should maintain a clean and sterile environment, use FDA-approved fillers, and follow proper injection techniques. During your consultation, inquire about the clinicâs safety practices and how they handle potential adverse reactions or complications. A reputable provider will prioritize safety and take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe and effective treatment experience.
Evaluating Cost and Financing
The cost of jaw filler treatments can vary based on factors such as the type of filler used, the amount required, and the providerâs location. Obtain a detailed breakdown of the costs involved, including any additional fees for follow-up visits or touch-ups. Many providers offer financing options or payment plans to make treatments more accessible. Be sure to ask about these options if needed. While cost is an important consideration, it should not be the sole factor in your decision-making process. Prioritize quality and safety over price to ensure the best results.
Assessing Aftercare and Support
Effective aftercare is essential for achieving optimal results and ensuring a smooth recovery after jaw filler treatments. A top provider should offer clear instructions on how to care for your skin post-treatment, manage any potential side effects, and what to expect during the recovery period. Ensure that the clinic provides adequate support and is responsive to any questions or concerns you may have following your treatment. Good aftercare helps minimize discomfort and complications, contributing to a more satisfactory outcome.
Making Your Decision
After conducting thorough research and consultations, you are ready to make an informed decision. Choose a provider where you feel comfortable, trust their expertise, and have confidence in their treatment plan. Consider factors such as the providerâs qualifications, the range of filler options available, the clinicâs safety standards, and the overall patient experience. By carefully evaluating these aspects, you can select the best provider for achieving a defined jawline and ensure that you achieve the desired results.
Conclusion
Achieving a defined jawline with fillers involves understanding your aesthetic goals, researching local providers, and selecting a qualified practitioner who can deliver the results you desire. By evaluating your needs, considering different filler options, and prioritizing safety and aftercare, you can make informed decisions that enhance your appearance while ensuring a positive experience. With careful preparation and due diligence, you can achieve a more sculpted and refined jawline, boosting your confidence and enhancing your overall look.

Lucifer:
surprisingly not wearing his dorky scuba suit
hovers around the grill while Beel cooksÂ
brings extra water and sunscreen in case anyone forgets theirsÂ
pesters you about reapplying your sunscreen like every 20 minutesÂ
tries to beat Beel at chicken but almost instantly losesÂ
brings his extra paperwork and refuses to participate in anything until he finishes it
the only one whoâs jaw doesnât drop when he sees you in your bathing suit
he still thinks youâre hotâhe just doesnât show it like everyone else
insists on getting a group photo of everyone but it takes like ten tries before he gives up because everyone keeps squinting at the sun
wants to be the âresponsibleâ one and not drink so he fills his thermos with sangria to be sneaky
literally everyone knows it's sangria cause who brings a thermos to the pool
Mammon:
asks for your help taking pictures of his brothers in their bathing suits so he can sell them
does not burn and refuses to put on sunscreen unless you beg him to
and then acts like heâs not doing it for you but just protecting himself
doesnât bring his own beer or anything and just leeches off of everyone elseâs
has another, secret mission of trying to push Lucifer in the water without getting caught
succeeds and blames it on you like the bastard (affectionate) that he is
thinks you look too hot in your bathing suit and tries to cover you the whole day. does not succeed.
will cause a fight if anyone compliments youÂ
âMammon are you jealous or somethingâ
âtch the Great Mammon doesnât get jealous. youâre crazy.â
Levi:
a miracle that he even came outside i'm afraid
wears his dorky ass hawaiian button up and goggles around his neck
burns SO easily please slather him in sunscreen
hates that the other brothers get to see you in your bathing suit and pouts about it like the baby he is
lays on a lawn chair and plays on his switch + refuses to get in the water
however as soon as you ask Beel for a piggyback in the pool, heâs Michael Phelps
carries a water gun and pretends like heâs assassinating people

and if you touch him his system does a hard reset
refers to the whole day as a âfiller episodeâ much to everyoneâs confusion
eats about a thousand different popsicles with increasingly weird flavours

Satan:
does not care much for swimming but heâll lay on a lawn chair and read his book
talks to you at least three times about the dangers of UV rays and the importance of sunscreen
has a really dorky sun visor that he wears anytime heâs in the sun like an old man
brings an extra matching one for youÂ
needs to challenge Lucifer at absolutely everything
the second Luci steps in the water to play chicken, Satan is throwing you on his shoulders
has one of those lounge floats decorated with cats that he lays on while he reads and sunbathes
only drinks moscow mules and insists that you try them
has a meticulously maintained pair of Birkenstocks that he wears everywhere
tries to wear them into the pool and has a five minute argument with Lucifer about why he canât
lays out your towel in the sun for you so itâs nice and warm when you get out of the pool
bonus points if he wraps you up in it
Asmo:
comes an hour later after everyone else because he had to shave everywhere and paint his nails to match his bathing suit
takes a thousand and one pictures of himselfÂ
and about a million more of the two of you together (his favourite of which he sets as his lock screen)
has an incredible collection of cruelty free, reef friendly, non-comedogenic sunscreens that he applies liberally
goes in the water but refuses to get his hair wet and WILL cause a fight if anyone splashes him
weirdly good at chicken but only because he doesnât want to fall in the water
loves aesthetic cocktails served in fruits and drinks them the whole day
probably the best at making cocktails too
has a timer set for when he has to reapply sunscreen and asks you (and only you) to help him apply it
also forces you to wear sunscreenÂ
Levi uses his expensive face sunscreen on his body and Asmo almost kills him
Beel:
the absolute grill master
heâs got 10 different things on the go, a beer in one hand and tongs in the other
challenges everyone to a game of chicken and refers to you as his âsecret weaponâ to win
the Satan/Asmo duo get surprisingly close to winning but Asmo chips his nail and concedes
has one of those floaties that you can put drinks and snacks in and drags it along with him in the pool
lets you hang off his back while he swims
if youâre laying down on your towel he WILL come and shake the water off of himself on you like a dog
will only throw you in the pool if he 100% knows it wonât upset you
threatens the other brothers to do the same or face the consequences
forgets to put on sunscreen but somehow doesnât burn???
comes out looking like a greek god
Belphie:
spends 90% of his time lounging on a pool float like the lazy mf he is
bats his eyes at you and asks you to bring him drinks everytime he finishes his
did not inherit Beelâs ability to tan and burns
five minutes in the sun and he becomes a lobster
only leaves his pool float to play one (1) round of chicken (that he loses) and if he gets too hot
also his pool floaty is definitely black and white like a cow
everytime he hears Satan lecture you about sunscreen he repeats it in a high pitched nerd voiceÂ
belphie pls wear sunscreen
probably falls asleep on the floaty at least once until Beel comes and flips him into the water
if anyone splashes him he WILL retaliate to the fullest extent
compliments how you look in your bathing suit just to annoy MammonÂ
steals everyoneâs drinks if they leave them by the edge of the pool bcs heâs too lazy to grab his own

IN THE SHADOW OF MEMORY
CHAPTER FIVE I series masterlist I wc: 3.1k
WARNINGS
cormac makes an appearance, slight angst mostly fluff this chapter, language, feels like a filler chapter, some cheesy moments, probably missing some
AUTHORS NOTE
always a thank you to the beautiful @amiableness for reading this
sorry for the long wait! just a lot of stress going on and struggled on where to take this. almost made this chapter angsty but i wanted some fluff. and tagging @3llab3lla1 for her sweet message.
After last night conversation with Theo, you felt lighter. His words had eased some of your worries, offering a flicker of hope that things might eventually return to normal.
The smile on your face hadnât faltered since. Not when heâd asked you to meet him at the library today, despite it being a Saturday, and not even when he walked you back to your common room, his voice low as he whispered a goodnight.
The playful comments from your roommates this morning about your brighter appearance had only made you more aware of the shift in your mood. You couldnât help the smile tugging at your lips as you weaved through the corridors, murmuring apologies to others as you make your way to the library.
You spotted Theo near the entrance, partially hidden by the fountain. His head was down, attention fixed on his hands, oblivious to your approach. A flutter of nervous energy hit, you felt yourself quicken your steps toward him.
You were almost there, just one staircase away, when your name rang out behind you. Reluctantly turning, hoping it was something that wouldnât take long, and saw Cormac jogging toward you with a determined look on his face.
âYouâre hard to track down these days,â Cormac called out, his voice carrying that usual cocky edge as he jogged up to you with a smirk plastered on his face.
You were a little confused, wondering why he was even looking for you in the first place. âI didnât know you were trying to find me.â
âWell, now that Iâve found you,â he continued, his tone making you uneasy, âI was thinkingâsince youâre back on the marketâhow about you and me, Hogsmeade tonight?â
The phrase âback on the marketâ left a sour taste in your mouth. When had you ever been âoffâ in the first place? The nervous flutter you felt before seeing Theo was now replaced with an entirely different, uncomfortable feeling.
âOh, um⊠I donât know,â you replied, trying to be polite but feeling more awkward by the second. âIâve just got a lot going on today.â
âCome on,â he pressed, stepping closer, his smirk still in place. âJust one hour? You can spare that. I promise Iâll make it worth your while.â He winked, and you had to fight the urge to roll your eyes or find an excuse to leave. The last thing you wanted was to be stuck anywhere with him.
You forced a polite smile, preparing to decline once again, but before you could get the words out, he continued. âI mean, itâs not like youâve got any other offers. Youâve been looking a bit lonely lately. Thought you could use some company.â He chuckled as if heâd said something clever, clearly enjoying the idea that he had the upper hand in this conversation.
Merlin, could this get any worse? You bit your lip, trying to find a way to end this without causing a scene. âI really donât thinkââ
Before you could finish, a shadow loomed behind you, and you felt an immediate shift in the atmosphere.
âMcLaggen,â Theoâs voice cut through the tension, low and cold. His tone carried none of the warmth you were used to. You glanced over your shoulder to see him standing there, jaw clenched, eyes dark with irritation.
Cormacâs cocky expression faltered for a split second before returning in full force. He turned, completely unfazed by Theoâs interruption. âNott,â he said, his voice dripping with amusement, clearly enjoying the confrontation. âI was just asking Tesoro here on a dateâuntil you rudely interrupted.â He stretched out the nickname, like he knew it would upset Theo more, and you had to fight the urge to roll your eyes.
Theo let out a cold, humorless chuckle that sent a shiver down your spine, completely different from the warmth youâd heard in his laughter just last night. His jaw clenched, and his fists tightened at his sides. He took a step forward, his eyes darkening, but before he could close the distance, you quickly grabbed his arm, a silent plea for him to stop before things escalated.
âAs much fun as this has been, Cormac,â you interjected, forcing a bright, insincere smile, âwe really have other things to do.â
Without waiting for a response, you turned and tugged Theo with you, pulling him away from Cormac and his smug grin.
As you walked away, the weight of Cormacâs presence finally lifted, though you could still feel Theoâs tension beside you. He was quiet for a moment, clearly still simmering, his steps heavier than usual.
You glanced up at him, giving him a small, appreciative smile. âThanks for that,â you murmured. âI wasnât sure how to get rid of him.â
Theoâs jaw remained tight, but his gaze softened as he looked down at you. âYou okay?â he asked, his voice quieter now, the anger from moments ago dissipating.
âYeah,â you exhaled, the tension slowing leaving your body. âI just donât know how to deal with people like him sometimes.â
âYou donât have to,â Theo muttered, his jaw still a little tight. âNot with me around.â
You couldnât help the small smile that tugged at your lips as you both continued walking down the steps to the library.
âWhy isnât there a spell to reverse a memory charm?â you groaned, slamming the third book shut and leaning back in frustration. Hours had passed, and it felt like you were getting nowhere. Theo sat across from you, equally tired, his brow furrowed as he flipped through pages of an old, dusty tome.
âThey probably thought it was too risky,â Theo muttered, rubbing his eyes. âYou canât just undo something like that. If memory charms were easy to reverse, people could expose things that were meant to stay hidden.â
âYeah, well, thatâs just stupid,â you muttered, flipping through another useless chapter. âThereâs always something people want to undo. Why isnât there a spell for that?â
Theo sighed and closed his book. âItâs not that simple. Memory magic is delicate. Even creating a counterspell could cause more harm than good. You donât just restore memoriesâyou could scramble them, or worse.â
You let out a long breath, feeling your frustration bubble over. âSo weâre stuck? Thereâs nothing we can do?â
Theo looked at you, and his gaze softened. âI know it feels like weâre running in circles, but weâll figure it out. You just need time.â
Time. The one thing you didnât have patience for. You rested your head in your hands, exhausted.
âI just⊠I want my life back,â you said, your voice quieter now. âI feel like Iâm losing pieces of myself, and every day it gets harder.â
Theo didnât say anything for a moment, just watching you with a mixture of concern and helplessness. âTesoro,â he said softly, the name slipping from his lips as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
You felt your heart skip a beat, but unlike when Cormac used that name, this felt different. It was gentle, full of care, and it brought a sense of comfort you hadnât realized you needed.
He leaned forward, resting his hand lightly on the table between you. âWeâll get through this,â he said, his voice low but firm.
âLetâs take a break, yeah?â Theo suggested. He pushed the book in front of him aside and stood, offering his hand. You looked at it, surprised by how quickly heâd made the decision.
âWhere to?â you asked, your brow furrowed in curiosity, but you slipped your hand into his without a second thought. His touch was warm, grounding.
âHogsmeade,â he replied, his eyes flickering with a hint of nostalgia. âItâs been a while since youâve been, hasnât it?â
Hogsmeade. The name sent a flicker of something familiar through you, but it felt distant, memories blurred by time. You frowned slightly, trying to pinpoint when you had last visited the village. But your mind was a maze, and any attempt to retrieve a clear memory seemed futile. âI guess it has been a whileâŠâ you muttered, trailing off as frustration gnawed at you. Why couldnât you remember something as simple as a trip to Hogsmeade?
Theo squeezed your hand gently, bringing you back from the swirl of your thoughts. âItâs ok weâll figure this out, but for now we can make new memories,â he said, his tone light but reassuring. âBesides, a break might help you think more clearly. Weâve been drowning in books all day.â
A small smile tugged at your lips as you nodded. He was rightâstepping away for a moment might be exactly what you needed. âAlright. Letâs go.â
As you stepped out into the crisp autumn air, the cool breeze brushing against your face, you felt the tension in your shoulders begin to ease. The path to Hogsmeade stretched out before you, and for the first time in what felt like ages, you werenât focused on what was missing. You were just⊠here, in this moment, with Theo by your side.
âDo you have any place in mind?â you asked, slipping your hands into your pockets as the two of you began walking down the path toward the village.
âWell, thereâs always the Three Broomsticks,â Theo suggested with a slight grin. âOr we could go to Honeydukes, stock up on sweets. Whatever youâre in the mood for.â
You felt a small laugh bubble up at the idea. âSweets sound good, and maybe Three Broomsticks?â you said, feeling a little more at ease with every step you took.
Theo chuckled. âAs you wish, Three Broomsticks then Honedukes so we have sweets on our way back.â
As the village came into view, its familiar buildings lined with lights and warm, welcoming windows, you felt the knot of tension in your chest unravel just a little more. You werenât sure if today would bring any answers or if your memories would come rushing back. But for now, it didnât seem to matter. You were with Theo, and for the first time in a long time, that felt like enough.
The Three Broomsticks was alive with chatter, warmth radiating from the walls as you and Theo found a cozy corner to settle into. It was the kind of night where the world outside felt like a distant memory, the clinking of glasses and hum of voices a gentle backdrop to the feeling of comfort settling over you.
Theo returned with two frothy mugs of butterbeer, sliding yours across the table with a playful smile. âOne butterbeer, as promised.â
âThank you, kind sir,â you replied, lifting the mug in a mock toast. âTo a night without studying.â
Theo chuckled, clinking his mug against yours. âIâll drink to that.â
As you sipped, the buttery sweetness filled mug, you caught Theo watching you, his gaze warm and a bit thoughtful.
âWhat?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
âNothing,â he said, leaning back with a small smile. âJust nice to see you actually relaxing.â
You rolled your eyes but couldnât help smiling back. âIâm pretty sure I remember how to relax, Nott.â
âIs that so?â He tilted his head, looking skeptical. âBecause last I checked, you were about ready to hex anyone who looked at you the wrong way.â
âOh, and youâre such a beacon of calm?â you teased, nudging his foot under the table.
âTouchĂ©,â he admitted, laughing. âBut seriously, itâs nice to see you smiling. I like your smile.â
The words lingered in the air between you, and for a moment, you felt that familiar warmth of something deeperâsomething unspoken. You brushed it off with a soft laugh, steering the conversation back to safer territory.
âSo, whatâs the plan for the rest of the evening?â you asked, tapping your fingers thoughtfully on the table. âAre we just enjoying the sights, or do you have more surprises up your sleeve?â
He grinned, a glint of mischief in his eyes. âWell, I thought Iâd spoil you with a stop at Honeydukes next, but if thatâs not impressive enoughâŠâ
You laughed, shaking your head. âI think Honeydukes sounds perfect. You know, the way to my heart is through chocolate.â
Theo leaned forward, mock-serious. âNoted: chocolate bribes to keep you happy. Iâll remember that,â he grinned.
âHoneydukes it is,â he said, standing up and holding out his hand to help you up. âThough donât blame me if you leave with more sweets than you bargained for.â
You took his hand with a grin, feeling a lightness you hadnât felt in weeks. âConsider yourself warnedâIâm taking full advantage of this candy run.â
With his hand still in yours, you left the warmth of The Three Broomsticks behind, stepping out into the crisp evening air.
âTesoro⊠hey.â Theoâs voice broke through the haze, soft but insistent, as he gently squeezed your shoulder. You blinked, realizing you were sitting in a quieter part of the pub, the buzz of the crowd faded in your mind.
âWhat⊠what just happened?â you murmured, still feeling the faint pull of the memory.
Theoâs brow was furrowed, worry evident despite the calm expression he tried to maintain. âIâm not sure. One minute we were sitting here, Iâd just gotten drinks, and when I came back, you were completely zoned out.â
Your stomach twisted in embarrassment. âOh, Merlin, thatâs awkward. I didnât even realize.â You gave a half-hearted laugh, trying to brush it off.
âDid something come back to you?â he asked, his voice low and careful.
âMaybe?â You closed your eyes, reaching for the full memory that felt just beyond your grasp. The ache still at the edges of your mind. âIt felt real. I thought it was happening until you brought me back.â
Theo gave you a steady look, the kind of look that reminded you he could be endlessly patient. âDo you want to tell me? Maybe itâll help.â
You hesitated, rubbing a hand across your face. âAlright⊠just donât laugh.â
âNever,â he promised, a glint of reassurance in his eyes.
You took a deep breath. âIt was⊠sort of like tonight but busier, louder. You and I got a table and drinks. We were talking, and I told you that chocolate is the way to my heart.â
Theoâs eyes brightened. âChocolate bribes,â Theo cut in, his eyes glinting with recognition. âYou definitely took me up on that.â A small, genuine smile crept onto his face, clearly lost in his own memory of that night.
You couldnât help but feel relief at his reaction, almost like a puzzle piece falling into place. âSo, it did happen?â
âIt did,â he confirmed, smiling at the memory. âWe bought a few bags of candy. You were horrified at the amount, tried to insist we put some back, but I wasnât having it. I carried all the bags while we walked back to the castle.â
His voice was warm, his gaze growing softer with each detail. He remembered so clearly, while you were still trying to reclaim that same ease and warmth from fragments that only half-made sense.
You smiled, feeling a strange mix of sadness and comfort. âAnd then?â
Theoâs face softened, as if he were measuring his words carefully. âI walked you back to the castle. And at the entrance of your dorm⊠I told you to get some rest, then we said goodnight.â
Something in his voice left the words hanging, like there was more that he wasnât saying. But you appreciated what he offered nonetheless.
âYou didnât have to buy so much candy again,â you protested with a laugh. âThis is way too much; half of itâs going to go to waste!â
Theo only shrugged, looking completely unconcerned. âYou worry too much. Besides, Pansy and the guys will probably âsneakâ some anyway.â
âYouâre too generous, but Iâm hoarding mine,â you teased.
âNot even sharing with me?â Theoâs smirk caught you off guard, the playful glint in his eyes making your heart skip a beat. You werenât sure if he was just joking or flirting, but it was still enough to make your cheeks heat up.
âFine, only because you bought it and insisted,â you replied, trying to sound indifferent.
âOh, how very kind of you, milady,â he grinned, reaching over and snatching a piece right out of your hand before popping it in his mouth.
âThat was high treason!â you gasped, feigning shock but quickly dissolving into laughter. Theo chuckled, clearly pleased, and you could feel a warmth settling over the moment, knowing heâd been the one to bring out this side of you.
As the laughter faded and the evening settled, you and Theo strolled back to the castle, the cobblestone path quiet under the soft glow of lanterns. He carried the bags of candy effortlessly, swinging them by his side as he walked in step with you. The two of you chatted easily, letting the night stretch just a little longer, and every now and then, your hands would brush against each other.
When you finally reached the entrance to your common room, you paused, not wanting the moment to end. Theo shifted, handing over your stash with a faint smile. âWell, here you are, candy queen,â he said, gently nudging the bag toward you.
âThanks for today,â you murmured, a little embarrassed at how much you meant it. âI didnât realized how much I needed this.â
He gave a small nod, his gaze softer. âAnytime,â he replied. âSeriously.â
There was a comfortable silence between you, but Theoâs expression grew more serious as he took a half-step closer. âSo, youâre good here?â he asked, glancing at the entrance and then back at you as if giving himself an excuse to stay a second longer.
âYeah,â you replied, biting back a grin. âThough I might need you to help me carry the candy all the way in.â
He laughed quietly. âIâd better not tempt fate.â he said, his voice soft as he slowly shifted a little closer, his fingers brushing your cheek in a way that made your pulse quicken.
There was a momentâa heartbeat, suspendedâwhere he leaned in, his face inches from yours. His gaze softened, his eyes tracing the curve of your smile, the glow of your eyes in the low light. But then, almost reluctantly, he drew back, his expression conflicted, as though he remembered something bittersweet.
Theo took a slow breath, and his fingers lingered on your cheek before he finally let his hand fall. âGoodnight, Tesoro,â he murmured, his voice warm and soft.
A hint of longing passed over his face as he stepped back, leaving a feeling you couldnât quite place. âGoodnight, Theo,â you whispered, watching as he turned and walked down the corridor, glancing back just once before disappearing from view. And even as you turned to enter the common room, you couldnât shake the flutter in your chest or the sense that something important had almost happened.
If you enjoyed, please please reblog or comment! Your words keep me motivated to write and make me so happy <3

Dylan followed his dad into the small hardware store, the familiar jingle of the bell sounding as they entered. It was quiet, with only the hum of the fluorescent lights above. They were just grabbing a few things for their weekend projectâa new fence for the backyardâand Dylan was already zoning out as his dad grabbed a cart and started picking out supplies.
After wandering through the aisles for a bit, they headed to the checkout counter. But when they got there, it was empty. No cashier, no employees in sight.
"Guess theyâre short-staffed today," his dad muttered, tapping the bell on the counter.
No one appeared.
"Iâll check the back," his dad said, glancing toward the storage area. "Stay here and see if anyone shows up."
Dylan nodded, leaning against the counter as his dad disappeared into the depths of the store. He glanced around, waiting. Still, no sign of anyone. The place felt almost abandoned.
As he stood there, a woman walked up, holding a couple of screws in her hand. âHey, do you know where the wood filler is?â
Dylan was about to tell her he didnât work there, but instead, the words that came out were, âAisle four, just past the paint supplies, near the caulk guns.â
The woman smiled, giving him a quick âthanks!â before heading off.
Dylan blinked. How had he known that?
Before he could think too much about it, an older man approached, holding a small toolbox. âExcuse me, son, whatâs the best way to fix a squeaky hinge?â
Again, Dylan felt an answer bubbling up from somewhere inside him. âGraphite powder, or silicone spray if you donât want to make a mess. Both are in aisle seven, just past the hand tools.â
The man smiled and nodded appreciatively. âIâll try that, thanks!â
As the man walked away, Dylan suddenly felt strange. His clothes felt tighter, his shirt straining across a broader chest. He looked down and noticed his arms were thicker, more muscular, and dusted with hair. His reflection in the glass door of a nearby display case showed his face aging, his jaw squaring off, a shadow of stubble forming on his chin. He looked at least five years older.
Before he could process what was happening, a couple approached, holding a paint roller. âAny idea what kind of paint works best for the bathroom? Weâre trying to avoid mildew.â
Without missing a beat, Dylan replied, âGo for a mildew-resistant paint. Satin or semi-gloss finishes are best. Youâll find what you need in aisle two, with the specialty paints.â
As they thanked him and walked away, Dylan felt the transformation deepen. His body grew bulkier, his shirt straining even more as muscles filled out his frame. Tattoos crawled up his armsâintricate designs he suddenly remembered getting over the years. His beard was now fully grown in, thick and neatly groomed. His scalp tingled as his hairline receded further, leaving him mostly bald.
Memories that didnât belong to him started to flood his mindâlong hours spent working in this very store, not just as a worker, but as the owner. He could see himself stocking shelves, advising customers, learning every detail about hardware and home repairs. He remembered years of pride in running this place, but those werenât his only memories.
He remembered Tom. The warmth of his husbandâs laugh, the way theyâd worked side by side to turn this store into something successful. The quiet nights at home after long days at the shop, the two of them curled up together, talking about everything and nothing.
Dylanâno, he wasnât Dylan anymore. He was Ben, and this hardware store was his life. He owned it, ran it, loved it. And he shared it with Tom.
When his dad finally returned from the back of the store, he wasnât Dylanâs dad anymore. The man walking up to the counter was now just another customerâone Ben vaguely recognized as a regular. Theyâd probably chatted a few times over the years, but there was no deeper connection between them. His father was gone, replaced by this new reality.
âHey, thanks for waiting,â the man said with a grin. âLooks like I found what I needed after all.â
Ben nodded. âGlad to hear it. Anything else I can help you with?â
The man shook his head and walked toward the door. As Ben turned back to the register, the world around him felt settled, solidified. This was his life now. The store was bustling again, customers browsing the aisles, and Ben had a mental map of everything in stock, every aisle, every brand. He couldnât imagine doing anything else.
A familiar voice broke his thoughts, and he looked up to see Tom walking toward him, wiping his hands on a rag. âYou holding down the fort while I fix that shelf in the back?â
Ben smiled, his heart warming at the sight of his husband. âYeah, you know it.â
Tom grinned and leaned in for a quick kiss before heading back to work. Benâs heart swelled with contentment. This was where he belongedârunning the store with the man he loved.
And as he glanced around at the customers heâd helped today, he couldnât imagine it any other way.

not you again! âscaramouche x male readerâ
ep. fourteen â it might be the paranoia coming in but i hear the cops đ
warnings: angst, literally ONE cuss word, uhh chicken butt /joke
notes: fairly short because it was gonna be a filler chapter đšâđ»<- me writing this fr
500 words
The cellar was quiet. Too quiet.
It was a deafening silence; it made you shudder. Your throat was seemingly dry, a small fire in the pit of your stomach.
He was staring, wide eyed with his jaw slightly dropped. It was a funny expressionâyouâd laugh at it if it werenât for the confession you practically just gave him.
You bit your lip, looking away and stuffing your hands in your pockets.
You wanted him to say something.
Anything would be fine, really, but you didnât like the soundless manor.
Youâd take anything at this point.
Scaramouche couldnât help the audible gulp that broke the silence. He closed his mouth and mirrored your actions subconsciously, looking away from you.
Some might say hearing the love of your life, whether you know it or not, confess their âfeelingsâ is the best thing in the world. They obviously havenât met you two.
It was a hard topic to discuss.
He had been emotionally closed off for so long until you cameâand then you left and he closed the gates again, this time with a bolted lock. He had given you the damned key and you kept it, even after everything.
It was a faint murmur, something no one couldnât have heard, but then again, you could hear his voice if you were deaf and he were mute all the same. âYouâre insufferable, you know that?â
He rubbed his temples as if just thinking about your words gave him a headache. Even annoyed and under terrible yellow lighting, he looked good.
âYouâre going to be the death of me one day. Howâwhaâwhy did you even say that?â He glared at you. His eyes were sharp but timid and the subdued wrinkle near his mouth, as if holding back a frown, was somehow obvious.
You felt lightheaded. Maybe it was because you were finally having a real conversation with him, not just some plain insults or petty arguing or the alcohol and edible you keep forgetting you consumed was finally taking a toll on you. âI didnât mean it.â
âDid you mean it back then?â He asked. His feet shuffled under him and he took a small step towards you.
You canât look at him, the thoughts of your previous relationship with him being a little too much to handle with him near. âI did.
I loved you.â
The tight feeling in your chest didnât go away and neither did Scaramoucheâs lingering look.
He shifted his weight onto his left leg, the wooden floorboards slightly creaked. He had began fidgeting with his nails, cleaning the non-existent dirt to occupy his thoughts.
âPast tense?â
There was a bit of hesitation before you spoke. âPast tense.â
The awkward silence was no more, instead it was filled with a bittersweet touch that only he could manage to bring out of you.
Only then did you two notice that the upstairs music had stopped. There was a faint sound of an alarm, much like a âwee wooâ.
The quietness suddenly turned into a rushed and unexpected scream, muffled by the floorboards.
âFuck! The cops!â

âWow this is quite the new house! Did you or your wife get new high paying jobs or something?â My friends wife said to me as we walked thru my new massive mansion.
âWell itâs funny you say that Colleen because Anna is actually out by the pool right now workingâ I told her and my friend Craig.
âOh is she working from home? I thought she was nurse? Does she now do something online?â
I smiled and said âyea you could say thatâ.
We walked outside to our large pool to see my wife oiling up her voluptuous body and setting up a camera to take pictures. Craig and Colleenâs mouths dropped as they couldnât believe what they were seeing.
âOh hi guys! And hey daddy heheâ she said as she pecked me on the cheek with her new plump blowjob lips.
âAnna? IsâŠis that you?â Colleen said, and was then frustrated to see Craigâs jaw was still dropped and he was rock hard gazing at my new and improved smokeshow wife.
âAbsolutely it is Colleen! Iâd give you a hug but Iâve covered in oil for my photo shoot heheâ she said as she nonchalantly took her bikini top off to oil up her new massive F cup tits. âI bet you hardly recognize me after my proceduresâ
âProcedures?!? You look like a blow up sex doll!!â Colleen yelled.
Anna looked at me and started blushing, âwell you know how I started doing the aesthetic side of med care? The Botox and lip filler and all that to make some extra money? Well I was seeing these girls come in who were making so much money capitalizing on the work they had done and their bodies and I thoughtâŠI could do that! So I did Botox on myself and the lip filler, and then some of the girls contacted me with a great surgeon to get a BBL and boob job! I mean babe you canât tell me I donât look sexy as fuck!â
I smiled, smacked Annaâs new bubble butt, and said âand she is using her new perfect body to bring in quite a lot of money, of which we used to buy this mansion, new cars, a vacation home in Florida, and moreâ as I turned to kiss her.
Colleen couldnât believe what she was hearing âand what do you do? Just sit back and count her money?â
âOh no no no he does so much more than thatâ Anna said as she grabbed my cock over my pants âhe manages my money and content, takes care of our investments, and treats me whenever and wherever I wantâ.
She wiped out my cock and squatted down. âSo unless you want to stay and watch us fuck, which Iâll let you see this one for free, I would head out because it gets pretty intenseâ
Anna started slobbing on my cock and Colleen stormed out. She damn near had to drag Craig out of there.
Anna was now my little sex doll, for me to use however I damn well please.

A/n: LOVE touching on the way Iris and Barry create their relationship by high key sabotaging every other possibility bc they feel inevitable... great shit.
Request: âBarry x male reader, reader and Barry been having issues so reader goes to stay with Kara for awhile.â By anon
Word Count: 2,000+
MASTERLIST
"So... are we going to talk about that?"
Y/n's jaw worked as he mulled over Kara's question. He couldn't expect her not to ask questions after all of that. She was a good friend, she worried. And Y/n didn't want to spend this entire trip running from his feelings. It would only make things worse.
On the other hand he really didn't want to talk about it.
But that may have been him trying to run from his feelings. Like usual. How well did that ever go?
He looked at her, taking in her barely contained curiosity and anxiety. The last time she had run into Barry and his boyfriend the two were newly in love after ages of pining and beating around the bush. They were full of relief at being able to hold hands and use pet names, and got borderline ridiculous if they ever kissed. Kara had joked they were the goal; the base line. Someone would look at her that way someday.
Now the two men were cold and distant, and when they'd gotten Kara the help she needed and Barry went to go back to his own world Y/n had asked to stay? In an entirely different universe where Barry Allen didn't even know who Y/n L/n was. Had never even heard of him. They were complete strangers in this world.
Sighing, Y/n leaned against the desk behind him and Kara tried not to grin as she realized he was about to talk about his feelings. Y/n never did such things no matter how many times she prodded and begged - but this was not a situation that called for smiling or teasing. She listened instead as Y/n began, "Barry and I have been having problems."
Kara raised an eyebrow. She was hesitant to push such a delicate string of luck but it seemed Y/n was about to stop and he really hadn't said much yet. "Problems?"
Once he started he couldn't stop. "First it was the newspaper with Iris' byline. I mean, he's been in love with her for near his entire life and everything was screaming that she would choose him back eventually. Eddie died, Patty and Linda didn't work out for several reasons - mostly because he couldn't open up to them. But that's not-" He closed his eyes, realizing he was going off on a tangent. "The point is," he began again slowly. "Barry and Iris are like, soulmates? Or something? And it started with the newspaper but then there was Earth 2, and the fact that they always know each other everywhere we go - even if vaguely. Like they're drawn to each other. Inevitable. There are worlds where I don't know Barry Allen and he doesn't know me, but they always have each other."
Slowly, Kara asked, "You're jealous of Iris?"
Y/n scoffed. "I'm not just mindlessly jealous. It wouldn't bother me so much if the name on the by line of the newspaper had changed. If it said Iris West instead, or Iris soemthing-else. But it doesn't. It still Iris West-Allen. And I feel like... a filler." His shoulders sagged and his face twisted with agony. "It doesn't help that he started to drop our plans to hang out with her. And I realized that actually he always prioritizes her. Our plans never overlap, like he's desperate not to have to choose, and then they do and he chooses her. And it's fine, she's family, but I thought I was too. I thought we'd at least be equally as important. And then Savitar comes and he goes after Iris -Â still. Iris and Barry weren't together, but his life falls apart if she dies. Like-" He blinked tears out of his eyes. "Like she's his whole world. Cisco can't save him, or Caitlyn."
"Or you," Kara realized, her face crumbling as it fully settled in.
The man shrugged. "Or me. And I tried bringing it up to him but he refuses to acknowledge it and scrambles to avoid the topic and I feel like he knows he's in love with her but doesn't want to admit it. I feel like I really am filler and he knows it, that his very atoms are waiting for her and it's just this unspoken inevitability. I'm only here for now and that's it and I'm not supposed to address it, I'm not supposed to see it, but I do and that really sets him on edge. Or- something does at least. I don't know! He won't talk to me!"
Immediately Kara pulled Y/n into a hug. Y/n let her, curling into her comforting warmth and knowing he could fully collapse and she would be fine. "Would it help if I helped you work through what other options there are? Discussions are hard to have if you have one out come stuck in your head, and then often turn into arguments that accomplish nothing."
Chuckling, Y/n wiped his face. "You're so smart Kara." And he meant it so genuinely she couldn't even joke that he was full of it. He seemed relieved to be able to talk about it, talk through it. She believed that truly was the case. "Please," he sighed. "Please tell me there are other options than what I think there are."
Kara hummed, tightening the hug for a split second before leaning away so they could meet eye to eye as they spoke. This was a conversation where he needed to know she was being absolutely truthful and genuine. "Well, first of all he could have the exact same fears as you. He could truly and deeply be in love with you and be scared that it'll all be for nothing. Fate and knowing your future - it';s a terrifying thought. Especially when no matter what you do, it never changes."
Y/n nodded. That was a perfectly logical option. "Anything else?"
She was ready for the question. "His life has been really difficult. He's constantly losing people, and being a superhero is extremely hard on a person. It's demanding and draining and leaves no room for even a single mistake. You're gambling with the life of every single person. Their happiness and stability. It's not a reason to treat anyone badly but I could understand if his work life and super hero life being so complicated and dangerous doesn't leave a deep desire for a normal, more straight forward life. Maybe he got it in his head that things with you were supposed to be easy and now... they're not. And he's too burnt out or anxious to address it."
Oh. Very quickly Y/n was calming down. Hearing all the other alternatives were very grounding and loosened the pit of doom in his stomach. "Anything else?"
Nodding, Kara continued. "He may not be taking your emotions seriously and either isn't realizing how your emotions are affecting you, or thinks they're some kind of accusation. He may even not understand that when you bring this up its concerning how you feel about it and not necessarily about him or anything he's doing at all. It's a pile up of things that all point your brain in one direction, and the way that makes you feel may be irrational or very rational, but either way he isn't the person who chooses Iris. And he may be one day, or he may not, but if he thinks you're accusing him of some sort of cheating when he couldn't imagine ever doing something to you?" She shrugged. "Like getting mad at someone for doing something in a dream. And it still means something to you but he isn't clocking that - all he can see is you blaming him for something he didn't do."
Y/n actually had the audacity to smile. "We would argue over me feeling insecure and it making him feel like I hate him. Or doubt him." He rolled his eyes but there was a little fondness there and Kara felt hope surge through her. Not all was lost yet. "We would end up arguing like we are over both of us just being insecure and not communicating it int he way we need to." He sighed, long and laboriously.
Kara just decided to skip to another option. "Or he's being an asshole and he does know it upsets you but he just doesn't want to acknowledge it or take it seriously."
They looked at each other for a second before slipping into soft, breathy laughter. It was weak and quiet but Kara wrote it down as a win. The idea that Barry would be so harsh and cruel truly was laughable. Maybe another Barry, another universe, but not this one.
After a second Y/n deflated again. Not as broken down but definitely exhausted. "What do I do if he won't talk to me? I can't just not know."
"Tell him that." When Y/n seemed doubtful, kara shook her head. "I'm serious. Say it even before you start the conversation. No warning, no chance to shoot you down or change the subject. Lay down the law. If you need this, you need this. It doesn't matter what he's feeling about the situation - you need to talk about this. This is a need for you; a deal breaker. If you break up you break up. He doesn't deserve you if he can't get over himself for an hour to talk to you and give you something you actively need."
Y/n melted in relief, eyes wet. "You're an amazing friend Kara."
The compliment, bursting with appreciation that could not be put into words, made Kara grin. "You deserve a good friend. Come on - we can take a few days before you have to go back."
So they did. A little less a month passed before Y/n went back. neither of them had meant for it to go on quite so long but Y/n's powers that were so often utilized by Barry were perfect for the threat Kara was facing and beating the bad guy was the last step. They had to go through so much before they could do that. It kept them.Â
When he did go home, there was something different about him. He got to see more and experience more. He realized how much pressure he was putting on Barry and codependent he'd become. he seemed finally completely at peace with whatever happened - whether or not they broke up, he knew he'd make it through - but was also ready and willing to fight for it.
If only Barry would fight too.
In the end Kara had been right. Her very first guess had hit the nail on the head, and it had all come undone the second Y/n set a hard boundary. He needed this and Barry delivered. Their relationship was important enough to the speedster to put aside fear or pride and face it. They had a long talk about the whole situation and how out of control they both felt. How that scared Barry even more because he didn't want such a future. Because he wasn't allowed to be out of control like he was now or people died. Y/n clarified his feelings not being a reflection on Barry as a person and the kind of person or partner he was, and that seemed to help too. They decided at the end of it all that no matter what happened they loved each other and nothing could get in the way of that. That even if Iris and Barry did end up together, it wouldn't be the Barry that was now.
That Barry was Y/n's.
For the first time neither of them felt the need to check to see if Iris' surname had changed on the byline. It was Cisco instead who came crashing into the room, eyes wide with worry. He pulled up the article and pointed out the byline.
Iris West.
No Allen attached.
The article was the same, with a missing Barry, but the byline was different.
Barry and Y/n looked at each other, eyes opened for the first time. It was almost a slap in the face to realize that Iris and Barry ended up together in this world only if they thought they did. That the anxiety of the felt inevitable could destroy all of their relationships, and that the second they decided it didn't - it didn't.It was beautiful in a way. And suddenly they both felt that they could do so much more...Â
And they did. Together.

@sockdooe Are there legitimately, truly, and genuinely people who fight about that?
I'm pretty sure that the Black Lion, herself, definitively answered that question.
She came to Shiro's aid by awakening and allowing Keith to pilot her when Shiro was being attacked and on the verge of losing his life to those raptor creatures in the second season's opening episode.
She severed Zarkon's connection to her in favor of bolstering her bond with Shiro, because Shiro understood that the relationship between Lion and Paladin is "not about power. It's about earning each other's trust."
And, she cherished Shiro enough to hold onto his essence after his body was destroyed.
Shiro was the first to master seeing through his lion's eyes, all the way back in Season One.
He and Black had a deep enough desire and willingness to fully understand one another that she showed him her history and abilities that she and Shiro had yet to unlock together.
There's no debate to be had, here. Shiro is the ultimate Black Paladin, as determined by the Black Lion, herself.
I can only guess that there's an element of ageism, perhaps even ableism, and undoubtedly superficial vanity at play when it comes to the fandom's preference for Keith, Lance, and the pairing of the two of them that shall not be named. Keith and Lance are skinny, elfin-faced twinks with a cliche rivalry and certain vulnerabilities that appeal more to the younger demographic. Shiro is a square-jawed, six-foot-tall adult man with bulging biceps and abs of steel, and the sort of trauma that would take years to even begin processing, let alone healing from, who seems to be much more popular with the older, adult fans, and Eastern audiences. The younger, American fans took to calling Shiro a "dad", after all, despite him being twenty-five years-old; nowhere near old enough to be a father to any of the teenagers he finds himself put in charge of. I've also seen Keith/Lance shippers calling Shiro "Keith's dad", which feels vaguely racist, and arguing that Shiro "raised" Keith, which is ludicrous. It doesn't help at all that the show, itself, feeds into the ageism and ableism by sweeping Shiro's trauma under the rug, sidelining him when he's down an arm, and sequestering him and Coran off with the other adults while the teenaged- sans Keith, who was at least twenty-one throughout the latter half of the seventh and whole of the eighth season- Paladins go off on their adventures.
I know the intention was to kill Shiro off permanently before the producers vetoed it due to Shiro's popularity and status as the show's only (living, explicitly confirmed, and relevant) gay character. Perhaps because he has no one-to-one equivalent character in the original series this was a remake of, and Keith was the leader in that same original series, so he was destined to be the leader, here, as well. Or, because the VLD showrunners were under the- delusional- belief that they could have Keith redo what Shiro had already done, only better, somehow, because they prioritized spectacle over narrative substance. Regardless, it's apparent that Shiro is only still around out of obligation, come the eighth season, and there was no desire on the writers' parts to further explore or develop his character. Hence him having no family, and, by extension, no real support system, being largely isolated from everyone, only really getting to shine in an episode that's half filler and unintentionally perpetuates more ableism, and then being married off to a "character" who might as well be a glorified piece of set dressing for all of the personality and importance he's given.
It's absolutely mind-boggling to me that,
1. The majority, or at least the most vocal parts of the fanbase cared more about shipping and complaining about being "queerbaited" over Lance/Keith when Shiro is right there.
And, 2. It seems like Josh Keaton, Shiro's voice actor, was the only member of the crew who truly appreciated Shiro, enough to offer his personal headcanon about Shiro's family- that Shiro was raised by his grandfather- state that he intentionally gave the clone's voice a harder edge compared to Shiro's softer, gentler tones in order to distinguish between the two of them, showing his implicit understanding of Shiro's character, and even made a video tribute to Shiro after the show had ended.
Aww, thank you for enjoying my angry rant on Shiro's behalf. Believe me, it burns that Shiro is overlooked entirely as the stepping stone he was on the path toward gay representation in children's media, purely because this show's quality plummeted so hard, and the fandom earned itself a reputation as one of the worst in recorded history. He deserves to be honored and celebrated, as not only a proud gay man who told Pidge that "owning who you are is going to make you a better Paladin", but also as a trauma survivor who strove to remain gentle, patient, and kind, and devote his life to saving others.
And, yes, he also deserves the best therapist in the universe, and all of the cuddles. â€

Betrayal | 9
MASTERLIST
Kunikuzushi x Reader
Word Count: 1.2k
Genre: idk, itâs like a filler⊠what genre is this? ksksks
Warning: None
Synopsis: Suspicious Figure
Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10
a/n: ayeee, itâs an update thatâs not 2 months late đ„ł n e ways, hereâs to hoping that this writing fever lasts until I finish this series and maybe even more so that I can actually start taking in requests and ACTUALLY writing said requests đ
Wordlessly, you kneel before the throne, eyes staring straight ahead as you await for the shogunâs words to allow you to speak.Â
Itâs barely been a year since everything has fallen apart, barely a year since Kunikuzushi was shunned away by the god before you.Â
And now, you stare her down, fists tightly curled on your lap, willing the swirling emotions away.Â
It is not your place to feel such things, much less towards a god.Â
No matter how much your insides burn, you have no place to act on it against the god before you, even if you wished to do so.Â
No.Â
Your duty is to be the geo archonâs yaksha. If you so much as speak out of turn in front of the electro archon then you may as well start another war between the gods. And for what?
For Kunikuzushi⊠only for Kunikuzushi.Â
âI heard that you have taken him under your wing.â The archonâs voice echoes inside the barren room, the vicinity ice cold, like that of an abode. It feels like itâs disconnected from the normal realm with its blurring views, thunder clapping in the background despite the foggy walls around you.Â
The plane of euthymiaâŠÂ
âI canât say Iâm opposed to you protecting the puppet⊠though I am curious as to why you would do such a thing⊠Answer me, yaksha.â Beelzebul drawls out though you can see the look of steel in her eyes, can see the way her hand tightens around the arm of her throne.
âI have vowed to protect Kunikuzushi, your son, for the rest of my existence. As long as I shall be alive in this world, then Kunikuzushi will be under my protection-âÂ
âHe is no longer my kin. He is but a citizen of Inazuma or any other country for that matter. I wish not for him to be tied to me.âÂ
Your jaw clenches at her words, hands tingling as you start to feel the hilt of your claymore materialise though you try your best to will it away. âWhether he is part of the electro archonâs kin or not does not matter. My vow still stands and your words shall do nothing to change it. Though if I were to give my humble words of advice, I do not think that pushing him away so suddenly was a wise idea. Protecting him by hurting him⊠I do not think that the late electro archon would be pleased.â By now, you have stood up from your previous position, just as the thunder starts getting louder.Â
âYou speak of my sister with such familiarity, yaksha. I suggest you know your place.âÂ
Turning around, you are met with the sight of Beelzebul holding her sword as she stands before her throne, looking down at you. âThe battlefield is a place that I am quite familiar with, electro archon. I have spent quite the time with Baal. In fact, Kunikuzushi himself shares a lot in common with her. Perhaps that is why youâre so afraid of keeping him closeâŠâÂ
With that, you make your way out of the plane of euthymia, your hair starting to stand up as lightning strikes the ground.
The heavy feeling in your body quickly disintegrates as youâre met with the sight of Kunikuzushi laughing with the village kids, racing their way towards the blacksmith for their usual afternoon lessons.Â
Itâs only been a few months since you got Kunikuzushi out of your abode and into Tatarasuna. A small island near the main Inazuma island which hosts a small village where you met Niwa who was quickly taken with Kunikuzushi.Â
The man quickly opens his home to the both of you, offering to help Kunikuzushi with whatever he may need on the island. The two of you were quite hesitant to be so comfortable with him but soon enough, Kunikuzushi takes to liking Tatarasuna, having his days filled with classes with Niwa wherein he teaches him how to forge swords, along with helping around in the village, youâve never felt more assured with leaving him alone for a day or so while you continue to do your responsibilities in Liyue.Â
âKunikuzushi was looking for you, yâknow?â Humming, you look to your side where Niwa makes himself comfortable against the tree, chuckling to himself when he sees your ever so serious face. âThe kid was sulking all day when you didnât visit at your usual time. He said that even though he can call you at any time, he didnât want to bother you while you were off doing your duties in that foreign land. He likes telling the village stories about your journey, yâknow? Sometimes, he even brings out books about you.âÂ
Crossing your arms, your gaze moves back to Kunikuzushi whoâs starting on forging the metal that was freshly out of the water.Â
Sighing at your usual silence, Niwa pushes himself off of the tree, a small smile on his face. âDendro yaksha, you shouldnât worry so much about Kunikuzushi⊠the village practically treats him as family, weâll protect him.âÂ
Taking in a deep breath, you finally look Niwa in the eyes. âPlease do so. His safety and happiness is the only thing that matters. Kunikuzushi deserves at least that much.âÂ
A little taken aback by your words, it takes the man a few seconds to respond, but when he does so, he offers you a genuine smile. âI promise you, I will do everything that I can to protect him. He is in safe hands.â Patting you twice on the shoulder, he starts to make his way over to the village once one of the villagers calls out to him. âNow câmon, yaksha, thereâs this Fontaine merchant thatâs been visiting for the past week and he seems to have taken an interest in the villageâs metal work. Heâs been talking about making this place a more appropriate place for the forging, something about bringing in some new equipment.âÂ
Raising a brow at that, you silently follow before him, the pit in your stomach growing restless as you sense something shift in the air the closer you get to the village.Â
Somethingâs not rightâŠÂ
âAlong with that, heâs even taken an interest to Kunikuzushi. The manâs been bringing in different devices from Fontaine, said that itâll surely enhance Kunikuzushiâs abilities.âÂ
Frowning at his words, you canât help but be unsettled at the thought of this man though perhaps itâs just because you havenât met him personally⊠youâve always been wary of strangers.Â
âAh, there you are, Niwa and oh? Is that the yaksha that everyoneâs been talking about in the village? My my, itâs an honour to finally meet your acquaintance.â The man dressed in foreign attire greets you, a smile on his face as he holds out his hand.Â
Immediately, you feel something trigger your senses. This man⊠feels familiar.
âMy name is Escher, itâs nice to meet you.â

Jaw Filler Near Me: Sculpt and Define Your Jawline for a Striking Profile
In the ever-evolving pursuit of beauty and self-confidence, facial enhancements have become increasingly sought-after, with individuals seeking to refine and enhance their natural features. Among the most popular of these treatments is the use of jaw fillers, a versatile solution that allows individuals to sculpt and define their jawline, creating a more striking, contoured profile.
Understanding the Power of Jaw Fillers
Jaw filler near me also known as chin or jawline fillers, are injectable treatments designed to add volume and definition to the lower face. These specialized dermal fillers, typically composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin, are strategically injected into targeted areas to enhance the jawline, chin, and other facial structures.
The primary purpose of jaw fillers is to create a more defined, sculpted, and harmonious facial appearance. By adding volume and structure to the jawline, these treatments can address a range of aesthetic concerns, from a receding or weak chin to an unbalanced or asymmetrical profile.
The Benefits of Jaw Filler Treatments
Jaw filler treatments offer a multitude of benefits, making them an increasingly popular choice for individuals seeking to refine and enhance their facial features. Some of the key advantages include:
Enhanced Facial Contours: Jaw fillers can help to create a more defined, structured, and visually appealing jawline, accentuating the natural features and providing a more balanced and harmonious facial profile.
Improved Facial Symmetry: By strategically adding volume to areas where facial asymmetry or imbalance may be present, jaw fillers can help to create a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Youthful Rejuvenation: As we age, the natural loss of facial volume can lead to a more aged or tired appearance. Jaw fillers can help to restore this lost volume, contributing to a more youthful and refreshed look.
Boosted Self-Confidence: The transformation brought about by jaw filler treatments can have a profound impact on an individual's self-confidence and overall sense of well-being, empowering them to embrace their enhanced, renewed appearance.
Versatility and Customization: Jaw filler treatments can be tailored to the unique needs and aesthetic goals of each individual, allowing for a personalized approach to facial enhancement.
Finding Qualified Jaw Filler Providers Near You
When it comes to jaw filler treatments, the expertise and experience of the practitioner are paramount in ensuring a safe, effective, and satisfactory outcome. In communities near and far, individuals can find a wealth of qualified and reputable providers who specialize in facial rejuvenation and enhancement.
These skilled professionals not only possess the technical expertise to deliver exceptional results but also prioritize patient safety, open communication, and a personalized approach to care. By thoroughly assessing each client's unique facial anatomy and aesthetic goals, they can develop a tailored treatment plan that addresses their specific concerns and delivers the desired transformation.
Preparing for Your Jaw Filler Treatment
Before undergoing a jaw filler procedure, it's crucial to have a comprehensive consultation with your chosen provider. During this initial appointment, the practitioner will carefully examine your facial features, discuss your goals and expectations, and provide guidance on the most suitable filler options and treatment plan.
To ensure a smooth and successful experience, it's recommended to follow any pre-treatment instructions provided by your practitioner, such as avoiding certain medications or activities that may affect the procedure or recovery process. Additionally, be prepared to discuss your medical history, any existing conditions, and any previous cosmetic treatments you have undergone.
Maintaining and Enhancing Your Jaw Filler Results
Jaw filler treatments are designed to provide long-lasting results, but the longevity of the enhancements can vary depending on factors such as the individual's metabolism, the specific filler used, and the areas treated. To maintain the desired results, many individuals choose to undergo periodic touch-up treatments, typically every 6 to 12 months.
In addition to scheduled filler maintenance, individuals can explore various complementary treatments to further enhance their facial rejuvenation. These may include procedures such as neurotoxin injections, laser treatments, or skin resurfacing, all of which can work in harmony to provide a more comprehensive and harmonious transformation.
Conclusion
Jaw filler treatments have emerged as a transformative solution for individuals seeking to sculpt and define their facial features, creating a more striking and confident profile. By strategically injecting hyaluronic acid-based fillers, skilled practitioners can enhance the jawline, chin, and other facial structures, providing a more balanced, youthful, and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
As the demand for accessible and effective facial enhancements continues to grow, communities near and far have embraced the benefits of jaw fillers. By working closely with qualified and experienced providers, individuals can achieve their aesthetic goals and enjoy the long-lasting confidence and satisfaction that come with a refined, contoured, and rejuvenated facial profile.

Enemy Fire: 24
Summary: There's a new kid in town, and she's got a city to usurp.
Pairing: Jason Todd x Fem! Reader
Word count: 3.6k
Warnings: language, mention of death
AN: photos from Pinterest (credit to original creator); More of a filler before we get to the real fun
âWhat do you think about owls?â
âI think you should shut up.â Jason suggested. YN rolled her eyes, ignoring him for the most part.
Her foot nudged his side. He ignored it. Her body was draped over the couch in the library, feet near his thigh. Jason had sat himself in the corner of the chair, one leg propped on the couch, where YN was lying, the other had fallen off when she had readjusted earlier.
Her foot prodded his ribs again, drawing his attention away from his book. Only for a moment, though; Leaving her grumpy with his lack of focus on her.
So she poked him again.
âWhat the hell do you want?â Jason growled, the book in his hand dropping to his lap. Thumb marking his place.
YN tilted her head, deciding on what would keep his attention the longest.
âWhat do you mean?â She asked sweetly, brows tilted inward.
He grit his teeth, jaw clenching tightly. She nearly broke character to laugh at himâ amused at how irritated he had become.
She had spent all day riling him up, she wouldnât break now.
âI mean, why the hell have you been on my ass all day? Donât you have shit to do?â He snapped, eyes focused on her.
She shrugged, her own eyes locked with his.
âNot really. Just wanna bother you. Itâs amusing.â
âTerrific.â He muttered. Attempting to return to his book, he lifted it again. All he could focus on, was her eyes on him. It was unnerving, at the least. And with how annoyed he was, already, it was just enough to make him give a response. âWhy donât I put my foot up your ass?â
âKinky.â
âFuckinâ A.â He groaned. Jason shoved his bookmark into the crease of the pages, tossing the book to the coffee table and shoving to his feet. YN was on his tail, instantly, tagging along behind him. She followed out into the hallway, where he was walking faster to escape. âI canât pay you to fuck off?â
âNope. Whatâs the problem with spending time with one with your friends?â
âWe arenât friends.â He laughed, disparagingly. Trying to shake her.
âSounds like bullshit.â She sang, her hands clasped together behind her back. Jason scowled, quickly pushing her body into the wall. She yelped, her arms flailing as she stumbled into it. âHey!â
He huffed a quiet laugh, a smile sneaking itâs way onto his lips.
âI saw that.â YN pointed at him, righting herself. Regaining her balance. Jason quickly wiped any evidence of a smirk from his face. But it was too late. âYou like me, liar.â
âWhatever.â He grumbled, returning to his previous task of ignoring her.
YN grinned, finally getting him to loosen up. He was so stiff all the timeâ no wonder he was easy to piss off.
Stephanie peeked into another room, cursing the architects of Wayne Manor. Why they felt like making a million rooms, was completely beyond her. It was a little ridiculous; She had been searching for one person in this labyrinth for an hour.
She was beginning to contemplate trackers, and injecting them into everyoneâs necks. It would be a lot easier to find people.
The blonde huffed and spun out of the room, stomping down the hallway. A deep, smooth voice came from around the further up, around the corner.
Jason.
Finallyâ he was sure to know where she was.
Moving quickly, to catch up to him, she nearly shouted in accomplishment when she heard YN respond to whatever he had said.
She barreled around the corner, nearly colliding with the wall. Jason looked over his shoulder at the disturbance. A very disheveled blonde, sprinting at them.
âThere you areâ Iâve been looking all over for you.â Stephanie exclaimed, reaching both hands out and snagging Ynâs.
âWhatâs going on?â YN asked, a nervous edge to her voice.
The blonde grinned, broadly. Eager to showcase her work to her friend.
âWe have a surprise.â
Stephanie tugged, hard. YN yelped, stumbling after her. She glanced over her shoulder, back at him.
âJason!â
He chuckled, softly, shaking his head.
She was settling in nicely.
âIâm right behind you.â He confirmed.
Stephanie pulled the door open to the stairway, ushering YN down.
âYouâre gonna love itâ I gave you these wicked knives and the holsters are authentic leather,â She gushed, pulling excitedly.
YN couldnât get a word in, as Stephanie kept going. Explaining details of every choice in materials and placement, and the whole design.
She wasnât sure what this design was for, or when she even had time to make it, but she was amused by the childlike gleam in her friendâs eyes.
When they reached the Batcave, they didnât stop at the gaggle of Batboys standing off to the side.
They went further back, into the uniform storage closet.
Jason made it down the steps, his feet carrying him deeper into the cave. He lost sight of the two girls almost as soon as the door had opened, but they were there somewhere.
âWhat is this?â Jason asked, nodding to the accumulated group.
Tim glanced up from his phone, thumbs moving across the screen rapidly.
âHer uniform is ready.â He answered.
Jason hummed. The smallest of smiles took over Timâs lips for half a second, before it was wiped away.
Another boy.
This family was just full of heartthrob romantics, wasnât it?
âDid Dick have any say?â Jason pressed his fingertips against the bridge of his nose.
âA little, I think.â
âOh, this is gonna be gold.â He laughed.
âI happen to agree.â Dick added, crossing his arms.
Jason arched a brow. He couldnât believe that after all these years, Dick still thought he was the best designer out of the whole bunch.
âYou do know that you nearly always choose rhinestones over a solid color?â Tim asked, not even looking up from his text message.
âAnd you have as much skin showing as possible.â Jason added.
âIf you arenât showing it directly, youâre wearing something skintight.â Damian chimed in. Dick spluttered in outrage.
âThatâs the best material for acrobatics, thatâs not my problem!â He argued, narrowing his eyes. âTake that up with the god of acrobats.â
âYou wear that to show people you have abs.â
Dickâs hands fell to his hips, preparing himself to argue the point further.
Just in time for Stephanie to round the corner, tugging a very reluctant YN behind her.
âWhat do we think? Badass enough for you fellas?â Stephanie called out.
The group turned, attention being dragged away from the petty argument and toward the middle of the computer center.
The uniform wasnât revealingâ the only portion of skin he could see was her arms. The long sleeved, athletic shirt beneath her armor kept the abrasive material off her skin. She had it pushed up to her elbows.
Kevlar strapped across her chest, knee pads and industrial boots. Fireproof pants and fire-friendly gloves. A hooded cape hung from her shoulders, the tail end brushing her calves.
Almost all of it was black, bar the soles of her boots and the trim of her protective gear. It was a light orange tint. A small, yellow bat emblem stamped on her sleeve displayed her alliance.
âThis seems highly impractical.â YN muttered. Her hand grasped the edge of the fabric hanging from her shoulders. She swung it, fanning it through the air, her brows furrowed. âWhy do I have a cape?â
âBecause theyâre awesome.â Dick cried, his palms splayed out to gesture to her uniform.
Damianâs eyes rolled over to meet Timâsâ a side eye glance that most in the household could interpret, quite easily when it came to Dick.
âItâs the equivalent of a long ponytail, someone is going to yank it.â She reasoned, tugging on the fabric for example.
Dick scoffed. He had wanted to go all out on her suitâ plunging neckline, hip windows, knee high boots with blood red laces. He wanted to add more color to the fabric as well, maybe a little shimmer.
She had the figure for it, why not show it off and save the city in style? Besides, no one else appreciated his sense of adventurist style.
Then he was booted out of the Batcave and the girlâs took the reigns.
And here they wereâ yet another boring costume.
âRelax, itâs removable.â Jason interrupted, stalking into the loose circle. He made certain his fingertips didnât linger, just barely giving himself enough time to unsnap the cape from her body. âThey put one on mine too.â
âYouâre no fun, Little Wing.â Dick complained, crossing his arms.
Jason scowled, balling the fabric up and tossing it directly at his smug face. Dick shouted, his arm blocking it.
The one thing that he was allowed to add to her uniform and they took it off.
âNeed I remind us all of Discowing?â Jason prompted, lifting a brow.
âI like that suit!â Dick challenged.
âExactly.â
Stephanie rolled her eyes; The pair of boys started arguing louder, but she kept her eyes on YN. She straightened out a crease in the undershirtâs sleeve with a small smile.
âI didnât know how comfortable you were with exposed skin.â She began, tucking her hands into her pockets. âBesides, Dickâs uniforms never give the person any safety or warmth. Itâs a little heavier, harder to move around in, but ultimately safer.â
âIâm used to the vests. The pants are nice, though.â YN grinned, shifting her weight. The boots were a thousand times more comfortable than her last pair.
âDuke says dinner is ready, please, for the love of everything, shut up!â Tim shouted, shoving past the argumentâ that was still goingâ and opened the elevator doors.
Dick finally gave up his hopes of making Jason understand the complex nature of his fashion studies.
With a final, disapproving glance, he turned and followed the rest of the Wayne siblings to the elevator.
âYou guys coming?â Stephanie asked, holding the doors open.
Jason hesitated, his face warming.
He wanted to speak with YN, without prying ears, but he knew his siblings.
The shit they were gonna talk once those doors closed, if he spoke up nowâŠ
âWeâll be up in a second.â YN called.
Stephanie nodded, moving her hand away. The doors closed, silently.
The air inside was tense. Stephanie exhaled, clicking her tongue before speaking.
âI swear to Christ if they kissââ
âIâm getting the camera footage.â Dick interrupted.
A chorus of protests sounded off, leaving Dick to defend his position by raising his voice louder.
Jason turned to face YN, taking a few paces around her. Taking in the entirety of the suit. All gleaming and clean, not yet dirtied by grime and sweat. Still unbloodied.
âLooks good.â Jason declared.
âMm.â YN replied. Her bottom lip tucked between her teeth.
Jasonâs head tilted down, attempting to catch her eyes.
âWhat?â
âJust⊠thinking.â She responded, softly. Her fingers picked at the threads of her gloves.
He fought the urge to make the situation uncomfortable. It was all in good faithâ he wanted to tell her everything would be okay, he wanted to help her fix things. But that wasnât so straightforward. Never would be.
And that was an estranged thing to say to her. Or at least he felt it to be estranged.
But⊠he didnât know what was going through her head. He never didâ it was how she managed to throw him off guard nearly every time she opened her mouth.
âOverthinking.â He corrected. YNâs eyes broke away from her palms, trailing up to his face. Only for a moment, before they moved again. Unable to hold contact for much longer. Jason sighed. âTry not to get too into your head about this. Youâre doing great so far, and I have no doubt youâll do fine.â
YN swallowed, hard.
She didnât know what to think anymore.
Bruceâs talk about forgiveness and moving forward had sent her into a tizzy. She knew it was right to want to move forward. To move on.
But she didnât want to.
She still wanted someone to hurt the way she had.
All her targets were gone, now. Adrian was dead, Bruce turned out to not be an asshole, Dick wasnât a stalker. Jason was a better person than she had ever anticipated him to be.
Who was she supposed to be angry at? What was she supposed to do with this rage, this resentment?
And JasonâŠ
Every time she looked at him, those mismatched eyes gleamed with hope. For her. Something she wasnât deserving of. That much, she did know.
YN pushed it all back, shoving it into the darkest corner of her mind. She couldnât look uncertain in front of him. He would lose that sparkleâ all his hope in her.
So she straightened her posture and plastered a half grin over her features.
âThat made me nauseous, please go back to insulting me.â
Jason smirked, a quick shrug following.
âYou look like a dweeb in that cape.â
âWho says dweeb anymore?â YN scoffed, her eyes rolling. Jason hummed, a smile pulling his lips.
âYou just did.â He bumped her out of his way, putting his hand on her forehead and pushing her back. YN slapped at his wrists, missing by a wide shot as he pulled away. âHungry?â
Jason moved fast, out of her range. She had knives in those holsters and he knew she wouldnât hesitate a second to pull one.
They were new, and she was brimming with the want to break them in.
âStarved.â She replied, easily catching up to his long strides. He paused at the bottom of the stairs, allowing her to go up first. Possibly a terrible idea, as her ass was directly in front of him. Even in utility ware; What the actualâ âI went on my first patrol last night.â
Jason tore his eyes away from her back side, focusing his attention on the stairs beneath his feet.
âWhat?â
YN repeated her previous statement.
Irritation wiggled itâs way up and planted itself back in his chest. Wrapping viciously about his sternum.
The old man just couldnât help himself, could he?
âBruce took me out with Damian.â She explained, opening the door. He held it open, arm stretched over her head. YN turned, walking backwards to face him and talk at the same time. âWasnât very eventfulâ can you believe that? My very first night as a legitimate vigilante in Gotham and no one was killed? Truly, disappointing.â
He smiled, barely attempting to suppress his amusement. When he looked up again, meeting her eyes, he saw a similar smile, playing on her lips.
She was teasing him⊠how rude⊠his heart was likely to give out before long.
âThat isnât the point of vigilantism, you know that, right?â He questioned.
She shrugged, turning again to walk forward again.
âI know.â YN nodded, throwing a faux pout over her shoulder at him. âStill gives the evening a little spice.â
Jason snorted, shaking his head.
Bruce wasnât surprised to see Jason leaning against the wall, waiting for him to exit the bathroom.
The pair often had confrontational meetings, when around each other. This was no different. Jason was a ticking time bombâ he always had been.
Even the smallest of opportunities to piss him off, or yell and get angry, Jason would take it.
And they were overdue for an argument. Jason had been giving his father a wide berth, ignoring and avoiding him for weeks.
âI thought I said I didnât want her going out there without me.â He grumbled. His eyes seemed to glowâ casting shadows over the remainder of his face.
Features plastered with an irritated, nearly enraged scowl.
Bruce thought of telling him he had overreacted.
For her first patrol, she had done wonderfully. She had kept herself in line, using minimal fire powerâ she didnât even use a single weapon.
They hadnât had many run ins, of course, it had been a slow night.
But he knew Jason had his reasons.
He didnât want anyone killed, firstly.
Secondlyâ Bruce knew for a fact that he wouldnât admit itâ Jason had grown possessive over the girl.
And his streak was half a mile wide.
âSheâs an adult, Jason. And I am perfectly capable of handling any sort of mood swings.â Bruce sidestepped, making it a few paces away before Jason was back in front of him. Blocking the escape.
He knew it was a jab at his own moodiness; He had put his adoptive father through paces. As an adult and a child.
Bruce had done the best he could, but in the end, Jason was who he was. There was no escaping thatâ especially not at his age.
He had practically raised himself for so long, he didnât want a parental figure.
And now, he was grown.
He thought he didnât need one.
âI think she would follow me just about anywhere. You want her leaving?â
âShe canât. Parol.â Bruce shot back, propping his hands on his hips. Jason scoffed, unimpressed by the excuse. âYou want her back in prison?â
He clenched his jaw shut.
Bruce had a point.
Damn, he hated when that happened. Because Bruce knew itâ if the smirk on his face was any indicator.
But Bruce wasnât even thinking of his successful checkmate.
He was overjoyedâ thrilledâ that Jason had found someone else he could care for.
While Bruce was a spree adopter and foster parent of people, Damian seemed to get the animal side of the coin. But Jason?
Jason adopted friends.
People down on their luck, in bad places. He pulled them all together into an uncohesive family unit for himself.
He would find an underdog and take them in. Even if said person had tried to kill him.
Bruce couldnât be more proud of the way his son turned out; But he wasnât proud of the way he came to be. How much pain he had been dragged through.
And how he saw even the smallest of confrontation as a threat to his family.
His responsibility to guard and protect them.
Bruce sighed, inching closer. He stopped when he saw Jason tense.
âI know itâs difficult to give up control.â He began, tucking his hands into his pockets. Jasonâs jaw clenched; Bruce knew heâd hit the nail on the head. âI know itâs hard being here and trying to fit into your previous space here. You arenât the same Jason, no one expects you to be.â
âI know Iâm not the sameâ I died.â Jason hissed, his voice trembled. He blinked rapidly, trying to force his eyes to stop stinging. The onslaught of tears was ready to fall at any second but he couldnât let them until he was finished arguing. âI was half alive for months. Terrified. I was scared. Iâm still scared. And I donât understand.â
He knew it wasnât fair for him to keep dragging this out. To keep pulling that card. Dick had seen his parents murdered, he had witnessed atrocities. Committed murder. Tim had been kidnapped and tortured, Cassandra used as a weapon for her father. Damian wasnât even human some days, his mother and grandfather had fucked him up so badly.
Everyone had a past. Everyone in the manor was fucked over, life had brutally bashed them all over the head.
It didnât change the hollow confusion, writhing in his chest. It didnât change the fact that he had died. Clawed his way out of a buried coffin, wandered the streets until Talia found him. The fucking Pits.
They were a hell in of themselves.
Bruce felt his nose stingâ pressure building in his chest at the rush of emotions on Jasonâs face. The clarity of his words.
It was cliche to think, but Bruce could feel the pain of his children. And when they admitted it, the ache throbbed harder. To hear Jason, of all people, admit to being hurt⊠that sent pains wracking across his nervous system.
He wanted to reach out, hold his son against his chest like he wasnât a six foot beast of a man. Like he was a child. A real one this timeâ not one who was forced to grow up too quickly.
But Jason had always been finicky about touch. Holding him close was out of the question. Even just a brush against his shoulder could send him reeling some days.
So he had to settle for what he could give, considering the circumstances.
âYou are never alone. You donât have to be.â Bruce repeated.
Jason grit his teeth and turned away, his eyes lifted to the ceiling. Trying desperately to keep his face dry.
He wouldnât cry. He would not cry.
Fuck, he was gonna cry.
Bruce made it impossible to hate him, nowadays. Which was enraging, because Jason wanted to hate him.
For letting his death go unpunished, for letting the Joker keep his grasp on Gotham. For letting people suffer at his hands. Live in fear of the madman.
But in the end, those reasons were barely feasible anymore.
All the hate had been drained from them.
Leaving Jason lost, confusion and hurt replacing his anger.
It sucked ten times worse than the anger did.
âCassandra asked us all to watch a movie. Are you joining?â Bruce asked, quietly. An attempt to lure him out of his spiral. He was afraid of what Jasonâs silence meant this time.
But Jason shook his head, biting down on his lip.
He felt sickâ something about the conversation made him feel nauseous. Vertigo sucker punched his stomach, leaving him off balance.
âIâm gonna⊠Iâm gonna pass, right now. I donât thinkâŠâ He swallowed against the bile, rising in his throat.
Bruce noddedâ infuriatingly understanding.
âBe safe, Jason.â He brushed past him, leaving the younger man to sort himself out as he pleased.
Deciding not to intervene in the progress that was going to begin taking place.

this hurt that i'm holding's getting heavy. but i'ma keep a smile on my shoulders 'til i'm sweaty. beggin' on my knees, "someone come and help me". hallucinations, violence, blood, gore, stabbing, etc. following. proceed with caution.
the skin dissolves off of their faces like it's nothing more but wet cotton candy, melted sugar and flesh pooling onto the ground - their smiles still smiling, still laughing, still moving alongside their skeletal jaws like a misplaced song. myria's been high before - myria's been high plenty of times before. if she ever bothered to count the times - she'd realize that it was an almost - daily occurrence. pills littering the bottom of her purse like misplaced candies, a fun treat in store no matter which one plucked.
this isn't that kind of high. it's not the good kind of high - the kind that soothes her, that keeps her limbs limber and her movements fluid. this high doesn't comfort her - because the people around her are melting, slowly but steadily, like botox fillers gone wrong. there's too many of them - too much flesh and blood pooling beneath her feet, slippery beneath her heels; too many skeletons looking at her - staring at her with their empty sockets and quick decomposition. she's watching death decay right in front of her - the butterflies adorning her mask scattering from her features and flittering about to collect nectar from their rot. butterflies and rot. rot and decay. decay and death, over and over on repeat.
when will she ever be free?
her breath quickens - and she knows she needs to leave; she needs to run, as fast as she can. as far as she can. she has to get away - a quick turn of her heels to descend down the nearest hallway, past every exhibit she's visited half - a - million times, knows like the back of her hand. but the hallway keeps extending - further and further, like she's not running at all; but the exhibits are changing with every glance, like the slots of a machine - cherry, cherry, money sign. bell, bell, bar. seven, seven, seven. has she gone up? down? how long has she been running? how much further can she go - when will it stop? when will it stop? when will it stop?
the dimmest light. her aching legs, like she's run the entirety of a marathon, climbed the highest of staircases. the hallway stills, but her legs still go - she can't stop now. she's too autopilot - actions barely her own as she creeps upon the exhibit; the egypt room. tomb laid in the middle like a ready - to - mourn funeral, like a scene she's seen all - too - many times. sickness lays at the bottom of her stomach - nauseous, suddenly; from the drugs, or the running? or what's to come, maybe - creeping familiarity as she nears the opened tomb. why is it open? it's never open - not in all her memories, now dim and far as she peers over the ledge. blonde hair, sticky red.
myria gasps - and with that gasp comes a sharpness, sudden as it strikes; panic restricting the breath in her lungs as it rises over, threatens to spill out. a warmth spreading across her back - no, not panic; no - no, no. a scream falls silent across her lips as she feels the sharpness of the blade strike her again. her hands grip the stone, urging her to barrel forward - to crawl across the body already laid; but the hands that encase her are stronger, tighter - tossing her squirming form over as the knife sinks into her lower abdomen, again and again - and again. all she feels is hot and cold, her entire body a pulsating throb of pain, fingers and toes tingling with the numbing cold. is this what it feels like to die? it'd been so long - she'd almost forgotten the feeling.
"someone -" croaks out, and she thinks she's screaming - she has to be screaming, right? someone has to hear her, has to come and help her. she can't die like this - but she feels that numbness spreading, eyes catching on nothing but red, all red. is it blood? is it all blood? is it all hers? " - i don't wanna die. please." it's a sob, now. a plead - hands trying to grasp out for anything - for the tall figure attacking her, but her grip's too weak now. they've moved on - she can barely feel it, the sensation; the blade cutting into her cheek - her stomach dropping further and further as through her dimming sight, her deafening mind - she realizes what's happening. she's going to be another body in the morgue. who'll play britney for her? who'll tuck her hair back, close her eyes - dress her pretty for burial? who will she reincarnate as? does she deserve it - reincarnation? into a better person? myria has so many regrets - too many to carry, too many to think about.
so she stops thinking - her mind clearing from worry. what point is there now? she can only slowly await the darkness that accompanies death. can only rock slowly into it; can only try to find comfort in what's to come. she can only wait.
and wait.
and wait.

day 7 of @chrisginnyweek: prom
finished chapter 2 of my fic "sittin' back, sittin' back, in the backseat of your car" for chrisginny week! you can read it here, or on ao3 via the link above. <3
As it turns out, finding a moment alone with the shared family telephone is of Olympian difficulty. Ginny feels neither like asking her parents nor speaking in code to Chris while they stand close by, so she waits â painfully. Her jaw locks in annoyance when she realizes just how much time her mother spends inside the house.Â
But one day, when Joe is out late at work and Janette is attending a Parent-Teacher Association meeting at Ridgeway, Ginny encounters the perfect window of opportunity to finally call Chris. Sheâs shy, at first, and so is Chris; but somehow, through grainy audio and nervous fidgeting, the pair get to know each other a little more. And they settle on a date and time for â well, a date.Â
If calling Chris was an English class assignment, Ginny would have two major takeaways: that sheâs going on a bona fide date in four daysâ time, and that itâs with the â albeit uncontested â girl of her dreams. The only issue that stands in her way, then, is mustering the courage to seek her parentsâ permission for a night alone in town without raising suspicion.Â
------------
Ginny completes many, many assignments and chores unprompted in the following few days, and her tireless work pays off. Janette grants her the ever-coveted permission she needs. But unlike with Chet, thereâs added emphasis on continued responsibility, both inside and outside of the Danburry home. The conversation leaves Ginny equally relieved and frustrated.Â
It turns out near-perfectly, though, when Chris leans through the window of her car on a warm, breezy Saturday night, beckoning Ginny with her left hand. Frustration is one of those things easily escapable around someone like Chris; and Ginny finds herself exponentially more willing to go extra lengths at home just to continue seeing her.Â
And seeing Chris â well, really, it feels like the easiest thing in the world to do. Ginny holds her hand as the pair drive downtown to Silverâs Diner, windows open, the sweet spring wind kissing their faces and ruffling their hair. Chris can barely keep her eyes on the road ahead because sheâs too busy looking at Ginny. If they end up in a car crash, at least Ginny can say she died happily, capturing Chrisâ glances like a prism does with sunlight.
Chris and Ginny choose a spot indoors â a cozy booth with a big window in a secluded corner of the diner. In between taking bites of pancakes and hashbrowns, they talk about different things: school, family, friends, hobbies. Itâs filler content, really; Ginny needs to ask Chris, but she doesnât find an in until theyâre both sipping vanilla milkshakes for dessert.Â
âCan I ask you something?â says Ginny, her mind already erratic.Â
âIs it that important?â Chris looks surprised. To be fair, most of their conversations as of late have been back-and-forth questions.Â
âYeah.âÂ
âThen, sureâ, Chris says.
Ginny sucks in a breath. âI really like you. Weâve been seeing each other for a while. And I think itâs appropriate to askâ, Ginny continues, a bundle of nerves, âif youâd want to be my girlfriend.â She falters, possessing anything but the knowledge of what to add after such a heavy request.Â
Chris bites her lip. Ginny holds her breath, waiting, mere nanoseconds seeming like hours to her. Moonlight beams hazily through the window, dousing their booth in shades of beige and blue.Â
âYou teaseâ, Chris laughs. She reaches her hand out towards Ginnyâs own. âI always wanted to be yours.â
âI take it thatâs a yes, then?â asks Ginny.Â
Squeezing Ginnyâs hand, Chris replies, âIn what world would that be a no?â
Ginny smiles bashfully. âYou know me. Sometimes Iâm living on a different planet.âÂ
âWell, maybe you should let me visitâ, jokes Chris.
âMaybe I should.â Ginny separates her hand from Chrisâ, tuning back into her surroundings â the public. She smiles at Chris from across the booth, reacquainting herself with the comfortable quiet that falls between them all too often. Her heartbeat regains its normal pace, anxiety extinguished by milky moonlight and the sincere promise of a continued romance.
âWe should go to prom togetherâ, suggests Chris out of the blue. She tucks a strand of pale hair behind her ear, the sight toying with Ginnyâs emotions.
âProm?â Ginny parrots, suddenly cotton-mouthed.Â
Chris shrugs, taking a sip of her milkshake. âYeah, at Ridgeway. What?â she questions â Ginnyâs lips are frozen in the shape of a silent oh. âYou donât wanna go to prom with me?â
âNo, itâs justâŠâ Ginny pauses, fiddling with the napkin on her lap. âItâs a lot to take in. I mean, Iâm still recovering from asking you to go steadyâ, she adds with a laugh.
Chris rolls her eyes playfully. âOh, come on, Gin, that was a guaranteed yes.âÂ
Beneath the table, Ginny taps Chrisâ foot with her own. âShame on you for making me so nervous, though.â A moment of silence, then: âAlright, Iâll go to prom with you.â
Grinning ear-to-ear, Chris replies, âItâs only fair.âÂ
Ginny slurps down the dregs of her milkshake. âLetâs get out of hereâ, she says. Itâs become their code for running off to make out; but tonight, on their first real date, thereâs added significance. What Ginny really means is to ask if Chris will drive her back to the Noel house: spacious, comfortable, better than the backseat of a car in every way under the sun.Â
Chris looks Ginny up and down a few times. âOf courseâ, she agrees, blushing. âIâll get the check.â
------------
âHey, cover for me? Iâm at Chrisâ house tonightâ, says Ginny, running a hand through her bangs. Sheâs using the wall phone in the parlor with Chrisâ permission, calling Chet to make sure their parents question nothing.
âSo itâs not just backseat bingo anymore, huh?â Chet asks, and Ginny can practically see the smug expression on his face. âYou finally put on your big-girl pants?â
âCould say the same for you and Charlieâ, Ginny retorts.Â
Thereâs a pause, weighted, on the other end of the line. âDo you love her?âÂ
Ginny wants nothing more than to blurt out yes, of course, is it too soon?, but she bites her tongue. âI like the way her perfume smellsâ, she says instead, decisively, in the event that Chris lurks just a thin wall away.Â
âAlrightâ, says Chet. âSee you tomorrow.âÂ
âSee youâ, repeats Ginny, hanging up the phone.Â
âItâs Nina Ricci.â
Ginny whirls around. She thought right; standing face-to-face with her is Chris. âWhat?â she says, confused.
Chris giggles, leaning on the door frame. âMy perfume. Sorry for startling you.â
Ginnyâs eyebrows shoot upwards. âYou heard that?â
âI heard just about everything.â Chrisâ eyes have a playful glint to them.Â
âYouââ Ginny starts, but is promptly cut off as Chris, in one swift move, grabs her face and kisses her. Her brain all but taps out as Chris trails soft kisses from the corner of her mouth to her jawbone, and then down her neck. Back pressed against the floral print wallpaper, Ginny almost forgets where she is; Chris becomes her Earth, her entire world.Â
Chris puts distance between herself and Ginny, teasing her with a stray finger on her collarbone. âLetâs not spend all night hereâ, she whispers, tugging at Ginnyâs dress. âLet me show you my bedroom.â
Ginny nods, words refusing to form, her body like memory foam for Chrisâ touch. She follows Chris up the stairwell, one hand gliding along the wooden railing and the other holding Chrisâ slender wrist. The upstairs hallway is carpeted in red, and paintings break up empty space on the sparse walls. Chrisâ bedroom is an oasis of femininity; pink colors and attractive movie stars decorate nearly every surface. Her bed looks too cozy to ignore, and Ginny has no choice but to sit down on the soft blankets, or so she tells Chris.
âWhat do you think?â asks Chris, sitting beside Ginny.Â
âItâs perfect. I could live in hereâ, answers Ginny, kicking off her Mary Janes and fully laying down. âDonât leave me hanging.â She frowns up at Chris.
âI would neverâ, says Chris, resting her head on Ginnyâs chest and pressing a kiss to her hand.Â
Ginny hums in appreciation. âYou know I missed you all the time, right?â
âWhat do you mean?â Chris says, confused.Â
âWell, between Chetâs gamesâ, Ginny clarifies. She wraps her arm around Chrisâ shoulder, moving so that the two of them can be side-to-side, completely enveloped in each other. âBut now I donât. I mean⊠prom, and dates, and sleeping over at your house? Itâs so much better.âÂ
âIt really isâ, Chris agrees.Â
âWhen is it, anyway? Promâ, says Ginny, turning her head towards Chris.Â
âOh.â Chris pauses, thinking. âIn about a month, I think. Why?â
âI justâ well, itâs just a thought, but maybe we could matchâ, Ginny answers, her face flushing slightly. âDresses, corsages, jewelry. The whole nine yards.â
âIâll take you shopping anytime, Gin.â Chris thumbs Ginnyâs cheekbone, kissing her forehead softly.Â
Ginny holds Chrisâ face in her palms. âHow about you come here and kiss me for real?â Theyâre both so close, enough that Ginny can almost feel the fluttering of Chrisâ eyelashes on her own.Â
Chris nods silently, her eyes half-lidded, dreamily staring down at Ginny. âI think I can do that.âÂ
Her lips meet Ginnyâs, and itâs heaven. Like silent film, a messy tapestry of memories plays in Ginnyâs mind: spotting Chris on the Ridgeway field; glossy hair and pom-poms; shoes dislodging turf as they walked across the field to Chrisâ car; admitting to herself that she might be queer; holding hands for the first time.Â
Chris kisses Ginny with increasingly more fervor. Soon, their limbs tangle and their hearts beat in sync. Itâs a rough start; but itâs theirs, and Ginny canât wait for more.

Cuphead: Isle of Shadows (Rewrite)
*Hey guys! I'm back with another chapter/episode of Cuphead: Isle of Shadows Rewrite! This is a bit of a filler episode with a lot of fluff. No angst till the next episode. This episode is published on August 3, 2023. If you guys like this episode, don't be afraid to heart, reblog, and comment! That would be wonderful and appreciated! I'm so sorry for the long episode. Enjoy!*
Episode Eight: Love In The Air
In the rough storm, the ship rocked side to side from the waves hitting them continuously. Captain Brineybeard steered the wheel of the ship, clenching his jaw in fear.
âThis ship is going to sink!â the captain cried. âFurl the sails!â
The crew that consisted of Elder Kettle, Cuphead, Chalice, Canteen, Aurora, and Natalie did as they were told to keep the ship steady throughout the storm.
âThereâs one coming for us!â Cuphead shouted while pointing at the rogue wave coming toward them.
âWhereâs me first mate?!â Captain Brineybeard shouted. âMugbeard! We need yer help!â
The little pirate mug with the tiny mustache and beard swung in beside the captain. âAye, captain?!â
âLower the boats! This ship be goinâ tâ sink!â Captain Brineybeard ordered urgently.
âAye, Aye, Captain!â Mugbeard shouted as he jumped onto the desk and hurried over to the side of the ship, urging the other crew members to get inside the row boats. The crew hurried onto the boats as Mugbeard looked back to see Captain Brineybeard still steering the ship.
âCaptain! The crew is in the row boats! You gotta join them!â
âNay! Iâll face this storm alone, mate! Get in with the others!â
Mugbeard hurried over to the steering wheel by his captain, pushing the captain aside while the boat tumbled. The captain fell onto the other rowboat by accident. The boats fell from the ship, landing in the water and floating away from the ship. Mugbeard tried to control the ship until the final wave crashed into the ship.
âMUGBEARD!!!â his captain and his crew cried out in fear.
The waters flipped the wood off the ship and tore through the deck, ripping it from the inside out. Mugbeard was knocked into the water, blacking out from the impact. He drifted into the deep blue sea with the debris falling with him. There seemed to be a lack of hope that he will ever reach back to the surface. It was then, he felt someone lifting him up through the water. Was it an angel?
The next morning, he couldâve sworn he heard someone talking, caressing his porcelain cheek. He fought to open his eyelids. In his blurry vision, he could see a silhouette of a beautiful sea creature. Before he could get a good look at her, she heard the men shouting and jumped back away from him.
âMugbeard!â The familiar voice shouted. Mugbeard was helped up to his feet by Captain Brineybeard and his crew. âAre ye alright? Whaâ happened?â
Mugbeard rubbed his head. âAye, Iâm fine. I, uh--â He looked onward to find the sea creature that saved his life. He saw it though, way out into the open ocean and on the rock near the shore, there was the creature. He stood in awe of her beauty.
The moment he saw her, he felt his heart skip a beat. This sea creature had cat-like ears, her fur as red as his blushing face. Her raven hair gleamed in the sunlight. Her tail had no scales and her ray-fin flashed a burgundy color in the light. Her whiskers flinched when she smiled at him.
âWhaâ are ye lookinâ at, lad?â Brineybeard asked and looked to where Mugbeard was looking. Once the captain looked, the mer-cat disappeared without a trace.
It was at this moment, Mugbeard fell in love with the sea creature. Every night, Mugbeard would venture out of the village and to the shore. Normally, heâll let his crew come with him on his rendezvous, but on this trip, this was something that he knew, they will never understand.
Mugbeard snuck through the village and towards the wooden port. He sat at the edge and looked around, waiting for her to make her appearance. The bubbles surfaced and the mer-cat popped out of the water with a bright smile.
âWow,â Mugbeard uttered while she brushed the water droplets out of her black short hair. She perched on the edge of the port, looking at him with sparkling eyes. âOh, sea creature, your eyes are like starlight. Your voice is a symphony. Your fur and hair soft as a pillow.â
The mer-cat giggled at the pirate. âI have a name, silly. You can call me Cassi.â
âCassi~â Mugbeard repeated with a lovesick smile. âBeautiful~.â They leaned in to share a kiss until--
âMugmanâŠMUGMAN!âÂ
~.~
Mugman jumped when he heard his name being called.
He realized that he was just reading the bookâŠbut he wasnât really reading it. Instead, he went off on his own little world and forgot where he left off. He also realized that he was in the kitchen in the Ruth Mansion with Elder Kettle and Cuphead staring at him in confusion.
âYou were reading your book upside down,â Cuphead pointed out.
âWhatâ?â
Cuphead was right, Mugman was reading the book upside down.
Mugman turned it right side up. âThereâŠhehâŠI donât know what came over me.â
Cuphead and Elder Kettle exchanged glances at each other and then back at Mugman.
âYou would never read a book upside down before,â Cuphead said suspiciously.
âIâm just having an off-day, alright?â Mugman said while trying to read the book.
âYouâve been acting weird since last night,â Elder Kettle replied. âWeâre just concern is all. No need to get defensive.â
Cuphead arched a brow. âI mean, you and Cassi were alone for a whileâŠâ He looked at his brother with a smirk to find Mugman was blushing. âOoooohâŠ.â
âY-Yeah, we were, but we didnât do anything,â Mugman said nervously, his face in the book.
Elder Kettle smirked at Mugman. âAww, Mugman, you donât have to keep hiding your feelings anymore. We know you like Cassidy as more than a friend.â
Mugman raised his head up with his face red. âWhat?! NoâŠNo, itâs notâŠâ
Cuphead and Elder Kettle arched their brows higher with smirks.
Finally, Mugman groaned. âFine. I like Cassidy more than a friend.â
âFinally!â Cuphead blurted out.
âDonât say it out loud!â Mugman scolded his brother.
âFinally, you admitted to liking Cassi. It took you long enough,â Cuphead said with his fists on his hips.
âSooooâŠ.what are you going to do with those feelings?â Elder Kettle asked Mugman.
âUhâŠstuff it down?â Mugman answered.
Elder Kettle shook his head. âDonât do that. Tell her how you feel.â
âHow? I meanâŠI donât knowâŠwhat if she regrets kissing me on the cheek last night and says that she never meant it?â
âWait, what?!â Cuphead gasped in shock.
Mugman glanced at them. âOhâŠyeahâŠshe did that last night.â
âOooh~â Cuphead said with a smirk. âShe likes you back.â
âWellâŠwhat happened after she kissed your cheek?â Elder Kettle questioned in curiosity.
Mugman covered his face in embarrassment. âI almost kissed her in the lips.â
âWHAT?!?â Cuphead and Elder Kettle shouted simultaneously.
The mugâs face turned brighter red with a groan.
âI knew I shouldâve told Natalie to be quiet,â Cuphead replied with a groan.
âWait, wait, wait, did she almost kissed you back on the lips?â Elder Kettle inquired.
âUhâŠyeahâŠâ Mugman answered shyly.
Both Elder Kettle and Cuphead gasped.
âShe likes you back!â Cuphead replied happily.
âNahâŠit might not beââ
âMugman, how could it not be the fact that she likes you back?â Elder Kettle said with his fists on his hips. âWhen she consented to kissing you back, that means she likes you back.â
Mugman rubbed his arm nervously. âEhâŠmaybeâŠâ
âJust ask her out on the date,â Cuphead encouraged.
âButâŠhow?â Mugman uttered. âIâm going to mess it up.â
âNonsense,â Elder Kettle said with a reassuring smile. âThe worst she can say is no.â
Mugmanâs lips trembled a bit.
âHey, itâs better to ask than not ask at all,â Elder Kettle encouraged.
âO-Okay. But if she were to say yesâŠwhere would the date be and when? Iâm not sure we can do it during the Night Stalker situation. What if they come in today or tonight and try to kill us?â
âWell, I canât see why not do it before they get here. We are wasting time by waiting for the Night Stalkers to show up and kill us. SoâŠwhy not make time to do things before we get found by them? I mean, maybe they died down and hadnât done much killing in the city. So, why not ask her out on the date? Better now than never, right?â Elder Kettle encouraged.
âYeahâŠI guess,â Mugman uttered.
~.~
Cassidy was groaning and covering her face in utter embarrassment, concerning both Jerry and Porkrind in the bedroom.
Porkrind was the first to approach his daughter by sitting next to her on the bed. âWhatâs going on, hun?â
âYeah, whatâs wrong?â Jerry asked while sitting next to Porkrind.
Cassidy uncovered her face to reveal that she had been blushing. âI did something stupid last night.â
âWhat kind of stupid?â Porkrind uttered.
âI-I donât knowâŠI, um, I canât believe I did it last night. Now heâs going to think Iâm a burden.â
âWhoâs going to think youâre a burden?â Jerry questioned.
âMugman.â
âMugman?â Porkrind repeated. âWhat did you do that would make Mugman think youâre a burdenâŠ?â
âI-Iââ Cassidy took a deep breath and looked up at Porkrind and Jerry. âI kissed his cheek.â
âYou did what?â Porkrind asked with a brow raised.
âI kissed his cheekâŠI donât know what came over me. IâŠI thought he was such a loveable goofball and kissed him on the cheek without even thinking about it. I-IâI canât believe I did thatââ
âHey, hey, calm down,â Jerry soothed the red feline. âIâm sure he didnât think anything of it.â
âDo you know whatâs worse? He almost kissed me on the lips last night and I almost kissed him back,â Cassidy said with a groan.
âIâm sorry, he did what now?â Porkrind said with a growl.
âWait, he almost kissed you on the lips last night?â Jerry questioned. âAnd you almost kissed him back?â
âYes!â Cassidy cried while covering her face. âI have feelings for him and I donât want him to hate me for that.â
âAww, Cassi, itâs okay. Knowing Mugman so far, I doubt he would hate you for it. I mean, if he was the first to initiate kissingâŠwell, it means that he has feelings for you too. Ainât that right, Porkrindâ? Porkrind, put down the knife!â
Porkrind was seen holding up a knife slowly while breathing heavily in anger until Jerry told him to put down the knife. âWhat? Iâm using it on Mugman.â
âWhat? No! Put it down! She has feelings for him too,â Jerry explained while lowering Porkrindâs hand that held the knife.
Porkrind grumbled and lowered the knife. With a sigh, he looked at his daughter. âHoney, Iâm not criticizing your taste in guys, butâŠwhat do you even see in Mugman?â
Cassidy uncovered her face and rubbed her arm shyly. âHe makes me laugh.â
There was a brief silence as Porkrind nodded his head.
âI guess thatâs validââ
âAnd heâs just so adorable and sweet and kind and goofy and protective over me. Like, he nearly attacked a couple of kids when they said that I shouldnât even be born,â Cassidy replied sheepishly.
âI wouldâve nearly attack a couple of kids too if I was there,â Jerry said with a growl.
âSame,â Porkrind agreed with Jerry. âAlthough, with Tremaine inside of him, he oughta be more careful with it.â
âYeahâŠâ Cassidy uttered and looked away. âShould I ask him out?â
âNo.â
âYes.â
Jerry and Porkrind exchanged glances at each other.
âWhat do you mean no?â Jerry questioned Porkrind.
âWhat do you mean yes?â Porkrind argued back.
âIâm asking you first,â Jerry replied.
âI meant what I said. No.â
âWhy not?â
âBecause I said so.â
âNot a good enough answer.â
Cassidy sighed and cuddled her fatherâs side with a purr, getting Porkrindâs attention.
Porkrind rubbed his daughterâs shoulder with a sigh. âHoney, I want you well and happyâŠI justâŠdonât knowâŠI guess Iâm a little worried about ya.â
âI know, Dad. I know,â Cassidy replied.
~.~
Mugman paced back and forth in front of Elder Kettle and Cuphead, who were joined in watching Mugman pacing by Natalie, Canteen, Chalice, and Aurora.
âCâmon, Mugsy, asking her out ainât gonna be that hard,â Chalice reassured her friend.
âIâm trying to think of something cool to say to her,â Mugman uttered, pacing back and forth.
âDonât overthink it,â Elder Kettle advised. âJust practice. As I always say, practice and youâll get good. But donât practice, and you wonât.â
âYou donât always say that,â Mugman said.
Chalice rolled her eyes and pushed Cuphead towards his brother. âHere, just pretend Cuphead is Cassidy.â
âBut thatâs my brother!â Mugman replied disgusted.
âEw, no, youâre not asking your brother out. Youâre asking Cassi out,â Chalice said while gesturing to Cuphead. âCuphead, try your best to imitate Cassidy.â
âOkay, okay,â Cuphead said while taking a deep breath. When he was about to imitate Cassidy by rubbing his arm, he suddenly shape-shifted into Cassidy without even realizing it.
âSooo, you wanna ask me somethinâ, Mugsy?â Cupheadâs voice changed into Cassidyâs voice, much to the shock of everyone around him. âWhat are you weirdos lookinâ at?â Cassidy looked at her paws and gasped excitedly, the disguise disappeared and revealed to be Cuphead looking at his own hands. âHoly cow! I didnât think I can do that!â
âI didnât think the potion can give you the ability to shape-shift,â Elder Kettle muttered to himself in shock.
Cuphead turned to Mugman and smirked. Once he started to imitate Cassidy rubbing her shoulder, Cuphead soon transformed into Cassidy, earning a blush from his brother.
âSoooo, you wanna ask me something, Mugsy?â the fake Cassidy said with a cheeky grin.
Mugman groaned and rubbed his face. âUhâŠokayâŠumâŠCassidy Cat, would youâuhâlike to go out on a date with me?â
âUuuuuuuhhhhâŠno,â the fake Cassidy said with a smirk.
Mugman gave the fake Cassidy a deadpan stare. âYou know, youâre not helping.â
âHeâs just preparing you for the worse case scenario, I guess,â Canteen answered while scratching the back of his head.
âAsk again,â Chalice suggested.
Mugman sighed and looked his brother disguised as Cassidy. âOkay.â He tried to do a cool stance by leaning on his elbow on the table and do the suave voice. âHey, baby, how about you and I go on a date?â
âHm, let me think about it. Uuuuuhhh, no,â Cuphead as Cassidy answered with mischievous smile.
Natalie tried not to laugh at what was happening.
âYeah, you kind of deserve that no,â Natalie said.
Mugman stopped acting cool and rubbed his arm. âOkay. Uh, Cassi, um, I know that we are in a sticky situation with the Night Stalkers and all, but I couldnât help but have feelings for youââ
The gang looked to the side and gasped in shock at what they saw, even Cassidyâs doppelganger.
Mugman rambled on. ââI mean, I know that maybe you might not feel the same and itâs totally fine if you donât. I just canât hold them in any longer. Youâre smart, beautiful, cute, adorable, and you are an awesome fighter. I meanâŠI know it sounds weird to sayâŠbut youâre like an angel. The most beautiful cat angel Iâve ever metââ
Cassidy blushed at his words.
ââso I wanna ask now because it may be never if I keep putting off, but, um, uhâŠwould you like to go on a date with me? Not like a friend date but maybeâŠlike a more-than-a-friend date?â Mugman asked nervously.
Cassidy giggled. âSure.â
âOhâŠjust like that, Cuphead?â
Cassidy arched a brow. âIâm not Cuphead.â
âWait, what?!â Mugman gasped in shock and looked over her shoulder to see Cuphead shape-shifting back to his old self with a smirk behind the real Cassidy.
âI guess CupheadâŠum, switched places with me while you were talking,â Cassidy said nervously.
âOhâŠuhâŠdate?â Mugman asked with a nervous sweat and a smile.
She giggled. âY-Yeah. I was actually just about to ask you the same question.â
âOh, really?â
âYeah. I, um, also have feelings for you too.â
He blushed. âO-Oh? UhâŠwell, I guess, umâŠI guess we have a date thenâŠuh, tonight?â
âSure. What time?â
âI, uh, honestly, I didnât think I was going to get this far,â he said, earning a giggle from her. âUmâŠmaybe 6:30?â
âSounds good,â she responded with a giddy smile.
âIâll find us a place to, uhâŠeat at,â he replied, relaxing his body a bit more but his face was still red.
âYeah,â she said. âIâll see you tonight.â
âIâll see ya tonight,â he repeated with a smile.
She walked away with Chalice, Aurora, and Natalie following Cassidy.
âDo you have any dresses?â Chalice asked Cassidy.
âUmâŠno,â Cassidy uttered nervously.
âOoh! I got a bunch of dresses to try on!â Natalie exclaimed excitedly to her best friend.
Canteen, Cuphead, and Elder Kettle stayed behind with Mugman.
Elder Kettle noticed a love-sick smile on Mugmanâs face. The old tea kettle sighed wistfully. âAh, young love. Anyways, might need to find a place for your date.â
âRight, right,â Mugman snapped out of his thoughts. He hurried out the door.
âMugsy, wait up!â Cuphead shouted while Canteen followed after Cuphead.
Elder Kettle glanced to the side to find Porkrind and Jerry standing in the shadows, watching the entire scene unfold.
âYou know, thatâs kind of creepy for you guys to be standing in the shadows like that,â Elder Kettle pointed out.
âSo?â Porkrind asked with his arms crossed.
âNevermind,â Elder Kettle said with a sigh and walked out of the house to find the boys.
âMaybe we should keep the girls safe,â Jerry suggested to Porkrind.
There was silence until Porkrind nodded his head in agreement.
âWe should.â With that said, Porkrind and Jerry kept an eye on the girls in the mansion.Â
~.~
Mugmanâs hands fidgeted together, sweating nervously while trying to find a place to eat at in the coastal a few blocks from Natalieâs house. Cuphead and Canteen side by side with Mugman.
âRelax, Mugsy, the date is going to be fine,â Cuphead reassured Mugman.
âWhat if it doesnât go well? What ifâI didnât even think about thisâTremaine? Tremaine is still inside of me. What if the potion wore off tonight and I become a monster? What if I end up hurtinâ Cassidy?â Mugman started to sob a bit. âI donât wanna hurt Cassidy.â
âThe potion is a lot stronger than what I give it credit for,â Elder Kettle spoke behind them. âMaybe it wonât wear off tonight.â
âJust donât get angry,â Canteen responded with clenched teeth.
âYeah, donât do that,â Cuphead added.
âYeah, yeah, wonât do it,â Mugman said while taking a deep breath. âWe just need to find a place where both Cassi and I can eat.â
Elder Kettle looked at the restaurant that had salmon as its sign. âHow about this place?â
Mugman gasped happily. âPerfect! Cassi loves salmon!â
Before they could go inside and get reservations, they noticed sign that had a drawing of a red cat and red circle around it. The red slash was over the red catâs drawing as if to say that red cats were not allowed.
âWait, why have the sign up? The red cats were extinct,â Elder Kettle said more to the sign than to the kids.
âExcept for Cassi,â Mugman uttered sadly.
Canteen peeked through the windows to find more cats dining, but they werenât all red cats. âI can see the cats dining in there. Waaaait! Why are the red cats the only cat kind that is getting hated? Like I get that they âcausedâ some Tremaine outbreak all of those years ago, butâŠshouldnât they get over that kind of hate orâŠ?â
âHonestly, I have no idea,â Elder Kettle said sadly. âI thought Tremaine was extinct along with the red cats andâyou know what, letâs not focus on that. This is about a date between Mugman and Cassidy. We can talk about that later.â
Cuphead turned his head and gasped in shock. âWait, is that what I think it is?!â
Mugman, Canteen, and Elder Kettle glanced at what Cuphead was looking at and gasped to see a familiar ferry boat docked by the shore with two familiar frogs standing in front of it.
âStep right on in, folks!â Ribby, the shorter frog in a green suit, encouraged the passengers into the boat. âThe boat will be leaving tonight for a little cruise.â
Elder Kettle, Cuphead, Mugman, and Canteen approached Ribby and his taller brother in a blue suit, Croaks.
Ribby noticed them and nudged Croakâs chest. âHey, hey, look who shows up!â
Croaks grinned. âWell if it ainât the cup brothers!â
Cuphead and Mugman waved nervously.
âUhâŠh-hiâŠwait, you ainât mad at us?â Cuphead questioned the frogs.
âMad at you for what?â Ribby inquired.
âFor destroying the ferry boat,â Mugman clarified.
âWhat?! Psst! Youse two didnât do any damage,â Ribby responded. âAinât that right, Croaks?â
âRight! That was our own doing,â Croaks replied. âNot once have we blame youse two for it.â
âOh?â Mugman uttered.
âYeah, Iâve said it before and Iâll say it again,â Ribby replied. âItâs all water under the bridge.â
âOh!â both Cuphead and Mugman exclaimed.
âWe didnât hear that part since we were sinking,â Mugman stated.
âOh, right,â Ribby replied. âWell, youse two got a beautiful brotherly love that Croaks and I were trying to model it to the best we can.â
âDoesnât mean that we got it perfect though.â
âAll it matters is we keep trying. By the way, we got the ferry boat repaired and everything.â
âJust donât go in without paying to get inside,â Croaks answered.
Elder Kettle smiled softly. âWell, Iâm glad you all got along in the end. But I donât see any signs that says that red cats are not allowed.â
âYeah, businesses put those signs everywhere,â Ribby explained while pointing at the other businesses.
âSo, you can let us in!â Mugman said excitedly.
Ribby arched a brow. âWhat are we letting you in for?â
The group turned to Mugman, who blushed.
âU-Uh, a date,â Mugman uttered shyly.
âOoh, hear that, Croaks? A date,â Ribby said with a sly smirk.
âWith who?â Croaks asked with a grin.
âHer name is Cassidy. Sheâs a red cat andââ
âWait, Cassi?!â Ribby exclaimed with a bright grin.
âY-Yeah, wait, do you know her?â
âYeah, since sheâs a little kitten,â Croaks explained.
âYeah, sheâs like a little sister to us,â Ribby replied happily. âHey, she should come visit us sometime when we ainât so busy. Itâs been a while since weâve seen her.â
âLike two weeks ago?â Croaks questioned.
âYeah, thatâs about right,â Ribby responded. âNormally, though, we donât let her in the Fly Trap. Nothing against her at all, but itâs bad for business to punch people that say mean things about her. On top of that, we donât want her to get hurt by people who had more of a, uh, violent tendencies against her kind if you know what Iâm saying. But, since this is a fancy date for her, we can squeeze in the reservation in a secluded area in the VIPs.â
âOoh, that would be wonderful!â Mugman exclaimed excitedly.
âWait, Mugman,â Elder Kettle said while taking out his wallet. âHow much?â
Ribby shook his head. âOh, itâs free.â
âFree?â
âUsually we charge sixty dollars for eating at the VIPs,â Croaks replied. âBut since itâs Cassiâs first date, we can make it free.â
âOh, okayâŠI didnât have that kind of money anyway,â Elder Kettle responded bashfully.
âThis is only one time though,â Ribby reassured them and turned to Mugman. âWe can squeeze in youse two in about 6:45 tonight. How does that sound?â
âSounds wonderful!â Mugman replied with a smile.
âOh, and Mugman,â Croaks added while drawing his brows together and showing his boxer gloves. âBreak Cassiâs heart in any way and weâll pound ya!â
âEasy there, Croaks,â Ribby replied. âHeâs a good kid. Iâm sure tonight will go along just fine.â Then he turned to Mugman with a threatening stare. âBut if you dare break her heart, weâll both pound ya in yer sleep. Got it?â
Mugman, terrified, nodded his head rapidly.
âGood,â Ribby replied, losing his threatening stare. âWeâll get it all set up for tonight. You need to find something nice to wear.â
âThatâs right,â Elder Kettle said while watching Ribby and Croaks entering the ferry boat. âThank you!â
Cuphead wrapped his arm around Mugman. âWell, Mugsy, looks like we oughta find something nice for ya to wear for your date.â
Mugman blushed at the thought of the date. âRight. Right.â
âHey, I think we walked past a place where there were suits for the dates. We can check there,â Canteen suggested.
âThatâs a great idea,â Elder Kettle replied. âLetâs do it.âÂ
~.~
The jazzy music played in the streets of the coastal town while Elder Kettle looked through the tailor shop for suits that would fit Mugman. Cuphead and Canteen helped picked the suits from the racks.
Mugman had tried on a few of the suits, which Mugman didnât like so far. Elder Kettle picked out a few suits that included turquoise, blue, and purple. The only suit Mugman liked so far was the dark blue suit. Elder Kettle paid for the suit with a smile on his face when Mugman decided to go with the blue suit for the date.
Canteen and Cuphead planned on watching over Mugmanâs date with Cassidy and looked for suits themselves with Canteen mostly wearing a bowtie and Cuphead liking the bright red suit. Elder Kettle decided to not to wear any suits, but he did pay for both Cuphead and Canteen despite Canteen saying that he got it covered.
Once they went out a tailor shop, Mugman wanted to look through the shops to get something for Cassidy on the date. Elder Kettle suggested jewelry like a pearl necklace or something along those lines. Cuphead and Canteen wanted to help Mugman pick a gift for Cassidy, hoping that whatever Mugman will get for Cassidy will be great. However, Canteen decided to get a gift on his own, but he was too embarrassed to say who it was for. Cuphead thought of getting a gift, and did get it with Elder Kettle paying for both of the brothersâ gifts and Canteen buying his gift with his own money.
Meanwhile, back at Natalieâs house, Porkrind and Jerry watched over the girls to find Cassidy trying out Natalieâs dresses. Porkrind smiled at Cassidyâs excitement to try on the dresses. Natalie wasnât wearing them as much anymore, so Natalie offered them to Cassidy to keep if she was going to go on future dates with Mugman.
After Cassidy was offered dresses, Chalice decided to show her how to dance with a jazzy music turned on. Cassidy was a bit clumsy at it at first until she started to get the steps Chalice taught her.
To join in the fun, Aurora wanted to dance with Natalie. Natalie smiled and giggled while dancing with her little sister by holding her little sisterâs hands. Chalice and Cassidy were having fun dancing with each other until she passed Cassidy off to dance on her own. Jerry caught Cassidy and danced with her with a bright grin behind his scarf.
Porkrind huffed up a laugh watching his daughter dance with Jerry. Jerry noticed Porkrind sitting out and gestured for him to dance with Cassidy. Cassidy gave a pleading look in her eyes to her father, who sighed with a smile and got up from his seat. Porkrind danced with Cassidy, although he was just as clumsy as Cassidy was. However, once he got the hang of it, he started to watch his daughter laugh in joy, which was something that he hadnât seen in a while.
Although, once he let go of his daughterâs paws, he saw her twirling around towards her friends. However, Cassidy tripped and fell on Chalice. They both laughed at the predicament while Porkrind watched with a fond smile at Cassidy. But there was something else. Something that felt soft and familiar. Porkrind didnât need to turn around to know whose presence was right beside him.
The instant tear fell from his eye. He didnât know why he was crying or what the tears were for. He couldnât help, but smile until he heard the voice.
âThank you, Po.â
Porkrind nodded his head, clenching his jaw. âI miss you, Shay.â
âHuh?â Jerry said while turning around to see Porkrind. He noticed Porkrind wiping tears away from his face. With a softened gaze, Jerry placed a hand on the pigâs shoulder to comfort him while watching the girls laughing and having a good time.
~.~
It was reaching towards night past six oâclock.
The guys went back to the mansion with Elder Kettle helping dress Mugman up for his date. Mugman tried to calm himself since he was sweating nervously.
âTake deep breaths, Mugsy,â Cuphead reassured his brother, putting on his red suit and slacks. âItâll be fine.â
âMan, I feel like Iâm going to mess this date up,â Mugman said nervously.
âNow, Mugman,â Elder Kettle replied, straightening Mugmanâs tie. âYouâre not going to mess it up. Just be yourself.â
âBe myself? Since when has that ever worked?â Mugman questioned.
âWell, Cassidy wanted to go out with you and youâre yourself,â Elder Kettle answered. âJust donât get too crazy when going out on the date. You and Cassi might get this bubbly feeling andâŠwell, letâs just say that you both might end up with consequences if taken too far.â
âTake what too far?â Mugman asked with a brow raised.
âIâll tell you later,â Elder Kettle responded. âAnd there! Now, youâre ready for your date.â
Mugman picked up the bundle of red roses, clutching the stems tightly with a deep breath. âOkayâŠI think Iâm ready.â
Cuphead smiled while stuffing his gift he got from the gift shop in his suit pocket. Canteen straightened his bowtie for the last time and they both followed Mugman out of the bedroom door.
Mugman walked to the living room and waited for the girls.
Meanwhile, Cuphead knocked on the door the girls were at.
The door opened to reveal Natalie in a dark pink feathery dress and white gloves on.
âYouâre going to have a little while longer, Mugâoh, Cups,â Natalie said with a surprised tone when she noticed Cuphead standing outside.
âCups? No shorty or peasant?â Cuphead asked with a raised brow.
âWell, youâre still a shorty and a peasant, but since youâre part of the friend group, I figured I picked another nickname for ya,â she said with a shy smile.
He smirked. âNot for any other reason?â
âWell, other than the fact that youâre more than just a shorty and a peasant, there ainât other reason.â
âSissy wikes Cuppy!â Aurora replied with a happy grin from in the room.
She blushed. âAs a friend.â
âOf course,â he said with a blush as well. âWellâŠuhâŠI went by a gift shop earlier and I thought of you when I got this.â the cup took out a small box and opened it to show a pearl necklace.
She looked at it, puzzled.
âI know it ainât that fancy, but itâs a bit cheaperâŠI probably shouldnât have said that,â he uttered bashfully. âIâve never seen you wear a necklace beforeâŠso I thought I would get you one.â
She received the box and examined it.
âYeah, I know itâs simple. You can give it to Aurora when she gets older if you donât like it,â he replied.
âHm? Oh, um, Aurora doesnât like jewelry. Mom tried to put jewelry on Aurora and she threw a hissy fit one time,â she stated. âIâll be honest that the necklace isnât as fancy as the ones Mom forced me to wear, butâŠI actually like it.â
He widened his eyes. âYou do?â
âYeahâŠyou donât mind if I keep this, right?â
âWell, I got it for youâŠâ
She smiled softly and put it on. Once she successfully put it on, she showed it. âUmâŠdo I look okay?â
He tilted his head. âIâm not exactly an expert on fashion, but you do look nice.â
She smiled. âThanks. WellâŠitâll be another five minutes till we put on make-up on Cassidy. Once Mugs sees Cassi, she will knock his socks off.â
âOh, Iâm countinâ on it,â he said with a grin.
She gave him one last smile before closing the door. Cuphead felt the warmth on his cheeks while he couldnât stop smiling from interacting with Natalie. He walked away and waited in the living room with Mugman, Canteen, and Elder Kettle with nothing but a warm smile.
Five minutes later, Chalice, Natalie, and Aurora came out with Jerry and Porkrind behind them.
âAlright, Mugsy! Your date is ready!â Chalice said with a wink at the mug.
Before Mugman could go and see Cassidy, Cassidy came out nervously towards him. Cassidyâs ebony hair was shiny and silky, glistening under the light. She had a light pink blush on her red furry cheeks and her eyelashes darkened from the mascara. She had a bright red dress without shoulder straps and white gloves that went up to her elbows.
âI am not sure if I picked the wrong dress orââ
âBeautiful,â Mugman uttered without hesitation.
She looked up and noticed his stare at her. His face soon turned red and pulled up a red roses.
âU-Uh, here ya go. UmâŠI found this while going out, uh, today and I thought of you,â Mugman stuttered.
She smiled at him and sniffed the red roses with a purr. âThanks.â
His heart fluttered when she received the roses and placed in an empty vase next to her. He couldnât stop staring at her no matter how hard he tried not to. When she looked back at him with innocent looking eyes, his hands felt sweaty in his gloves.
âMugman,â Elder Kettleâs voice snapped Mugman out of his trance.
âUh, right! AhemâŠshall we?â Mugman said while holding his arm out for her.
She blushed and nodded her head. She wrapped her arm around his and they both walked out of the door.
The other kids soon followed with Elder Kettle standing by Porkrind and Jerry in the shadows.
âAhâŠthe kids are growing up so fast,â Elder Kettle said with a soft grin.
âYeah,â Porkrind agreed, his voice cracked.
âMaybe we should spy on them,â Jerry suggested.
âGreat idea,â Elder Kettle said.
âYep,â Porkrind responded.
The adults went out of the house to make sure the kids were alright.Â
~.~
Mugman and Cassidy arrived at the Fly Trap at 6:45 pm with the other kids not far behind them.
Ribby and Croaks waited outside for them and smiled once they saw Cassidy coming towards the frogs.
âCassi!â Ribby and Croaks called while running towards them.
âRibby! Croaks!â Cassidy recognized with a bright smile.
Ribby and Croaks lifted Cassidy up in their arms as she giggled.
âAw! We miss you so much!â Ribby explained.
âI was hoping you guys made it out of the city alive!â Cassidy replied happily.
âWe did. We did,â Croaks confirmed.
âDarn lucky too. Those Night Stalkers wouldâve set our ferry on fire if we hadnât escaped with the people just in time,â Ribby added while the frog brothers put Cassidy down next to Mugman. âWell, since your âboyfriendâ made reservations, weâve made a perfect secluded spot for youse two in the VIPs.â
âOh, really?â Cassidy said with a blush.
âOf course. We want ya to have a good time,â Ribby reassured Cassidy.
âUgh, what a burden.â
Ribby and Croaks looked at one of the fancy rich lady with a sneer.
âSay it again and Iâll pound ya!â Croaks growled, scaring the rich lady away from the ferry boat.
Ribby nervously smiled at Cassidy and Mugman. âThatâs why we made the spot secluded. Iâll show ya!â
Ribby showed Cassidy and Mugman a secluded spot in the VIPs the frogs mentioned while the other kids were following them in until Croaks stopped them.
âNo! You didnât get a reservation!â Croaks said with his arms crossed.
âOh come on, weâre with them! You know, just to make sure everything went smoothly,â Cuphead explained.
âWell, you ainât gettinâ in the ferry without paying sixty dollars for each pairââ
Croaks suddenly noticed hundred and twenty dollars given to him by Natalie, who had a small pink purse. Croaks picked up the money and sighed. âAlright, you can get in.â
The kids brightly smiled and walked into the ferry with Cuphead being a little more impressed with Natalie.
Once the kids were inside, Ribby and Croaks closed the doors to the ferry boat restaurant and let the ferry cruised off the shore. Elder Kettle, Porkrind, and Jerry arrived too late to find the ferry boat cruising out into the gentle waters.
âGreat, weâre too late,â Porkrind grumbled.
âWell, at least the kids are safe now,â Elder Kettle said with a shrug.
Jerry nodded his head. âYeah. Hopefully.â
~.~
Back to the Fly Trap, Ribby didnât lie when he said that he had prepared a secluded place for Cassidy and Mugman away from everyone. It was outside with the small stage fit for two frogs only. The night was cool while Cassidy and Mugman sat across from each other awkwardly.
âUhâŠso,â Mugman began. âWhat do you want to talk about?â
âUmâŠwell, Iâm not sure. I guess Iâm still processing that weâre dating right now.â
âMe too.â Mugman rubbed his shoulder nervously. âSoâŠwhatâs your favorite color?â
Cassidy smiled at him. âGreen. What about you?â
âRed,â Mugman blurted out.
âRed, huh? Is it because itâs your brotherâs color?â
âWell, red used to not be my favorite color till I met youâŠsooooâŠ.yeah.â
Meanwhile, Cuphead, Natalie, Chalice, Aurora, and Canteen spied on Mugman and Cassidy.
âIt seems to be going well,â Canteen said with a proud smile at Mugman.
âYou donât say,â Cuphead replied happily. âIâm happy for âem.â
Chalice looked to the side to see someone enter the deck with her brow raised. âWho are they?â
The group looked and saw two dogs walking into the deck, one a golden retriever and the other a labrador. They were both laughing and joking, making Cassidy hide behind her menu. Mugman looked at them in confusion while the others tilted their heads in curiosity.
âOh no,â Natalie groaned.
âBig bad doggies,â Aurora said with her brows furrowed.
âWhat?â Cuphead questioned both Natalie and Aurora.
âJimmy and Jamie. Theyâre the worse bullies that Cassidy had,â Natalie said with a growl.
âWorse bullies? ButâŠwould not allowing her into restaurants, saying that she should never be born, and making sneer comments considered worse bullying?â Canteen asked with a brow raised.
âOf course. But itâs not as merely as bad as, you know, throwing Cassidy into the lake, locking her in a closet, riling students up to bully her, throwing her into the hollow tree, and almost throwing her into the fire pit,â Natalie listed with a growl.
âDid they do all that?â Cuphead asked with his eyes widened in shock.
Natalie nodded her head. âCassidy only swiped at Jimmy one time when he was about to throw her into the fire pit and the teachers punished her instead of them.â
The group had their eyes broadened in horror and looked at the two dogs, who noticed Cassidy trying to hide herself behind the menu.
âOh look here, Jamie,â Jimmy, the golden retriever, snickered while going up to the couple on a date. âItâs the piece of burden cat on a date withâŠwhoever he is.â
âItâs Mugman,â Mugman said with his brows drawn.
Cuphead could tell his brother was about to become angry. âIâm debating on whether I should let Mugsy attack them with Tremaine inside of him or we should do something about it.â
âI wouldnât blame you if you did let Mugsy attack them,â Canteen responded. âAfter hearing all of that, who knows what theyâre going to do to her next.â
âBut then Tremaine will break through sooner than later,â Chalice replied to Canteen.
âI wanna kick them,â Natalie said with a growl. âBut Iâm too small to do it.â
âOoh, Mugman. What a stupid name,â Jimmy cackled at Mugman.
Cassidy started to snarl at Jimmy when he was bullying her date.
âOh, there she is, the aggressor. The cause of all of our problems,â Jamie pointed out to Cassidy. He leaned in to show Cassidy his face, which had claw marks. âRemember what you did, piece of burden? You clawed me up. Itâs a good thing that the teacher punish you. You deserve it.â
âSay that again,â Mugman growled, his eyes turning yellow with red irises and his teeth sharpening.
Cuphead gasped. âWait, Jimmy? Heâs the guy who stole my lunch money when I was little. Jamie also beat me up for my lunch money too.â
âThey stole your lunch money?â Chalice gasped. She glared at the dogs. âThatâs it. Theyâre going down.â
Before Chalice could turn into a ghost and possess them, Cuphead stopped her.
âWait, I have a better idea,â Cuphead replied and looked at Natalie. âYou said you wanna kick them, right?â
âYeahâŠ? Why?â
Cuphead whispered something to Natalie, with her gasping in shock.
âCan you do that?â Natalie asked.
âLetâs see,â Cuphead responded.Â
~.~
Mugman glared at Jimmy and Jamie, trying to resist every urge to let Tremaine take over and attack them. Once Cassidy was cornered by the two dogs, Mugman put down his menu and was getting ready to attack them untilâ
âHey!â
The dogs turned to see Ribby and Croaks standing there with their fists clenched. With relief, Mugmanâs yellow eyes went away and his teeth were no longer sharpened.
âYouse two didnât pay your way in here,â Ribby pointed out to Jimmy and Jamie.
âYeah!â Croaks agreed with a growl.
Jimmy and Jamie instantly became terrified.
âW-We did pay our way in. D-Donât you remember?â Jimmy stuttered.
âYour money is fake money!â Croaks growled.
âYeah,â Ribby agreed. âYouse two better have a good explanation for sneaking into the ferry boat.â
Jamie looked at Cassidy. âSheâs not supposed to be here, right? Businesses usually have no red cats allowed. Sheâs a burden to our society and you should throw her out!â
âNice try, buddy,â Ribby said with a snarl. âUnlucky for you, we donât have that sign that said red cats are not allowed.â
âBut what we donât allow in our boat is bullying and harassment. And youse two just broke those rules,â Croaks growled.
âDo you know what bullying and harassment could get ya?â
âWait!â
Croaks picked up Jimmy and Ribby picked up Jamie by the scruffs of their necks and walked over to the edge of the ferry boat.
âA kick in your pants!â Croaks answered.
Both of the frogs kicked the dogs out of the ferry boat, letting them fly into the water. Luckily, they were near the shore.
Ribby and Croaks smiled until Croaks looked at his hands.
âOOOH! IâVE BEEN WANTINâ DO THAT IN FOREVER!!!â Croaks shouted. With a poof, they were transformed into Natalie and Cuphead, indicating that Cuphead shape-shifted both himself and other people.
âWhoa, what happened?â Natalie questioned.
âI think it stopped workinâ once we get out of character,â Cuphead said. âNeat! I can shape-shift and shape-shift other people! Thatâs cool!â
They looked to see Mugman and Cassidy widened their eyes in shock. And they turned to see the real Ribby and Croaks standing by the doorway with the sizzling hot meals for the date. They might have seen the whole thing.
âWhat in the heck?â Ribby uttered with his brow raised.
Cuphead nervously laughed.
âHey, you paid for your tables,â Croaks stated.
âYeah, hows about you all take a seat at the other tables. Ya know, as dates!â Ribby suggested.
The kids in the group blushed except for Aurora, who giggled at Ribbyâs suggestion.
âSissy wikes Cuppy!â Aurora said with a giggle.
âShh, no one needs to know that,â Natalie whispered to her little sister.
âYeah, you paid to be here. Why not?â Croaks responded.
Mugman couldnât help but trying to hold in a chuckle at his friends since they had been teasing him about his crush on Cassidy.
âItâll only be a friend date though,â Cuphead replied nervously with a blush cheek.
âYeah,â Natalie agreed.
Chalice and Canteen nodded their heads with âyepâ.
Ribby showed Natalie and Cuphead their seats with Aurora sticking with her big sister. Croaks showed Chalice and Canteen to their seats.
âWhile you folks are settled down, why donât we sing a little song?â Ribby responded with a bright smile. Ribby and Croaks looked at the small band up on the small stage and Ribby snapped his fingers for them to start to play.
Ribby and Croaks stood up on stage, looking at everyone once the jazzy music began softly.
Ribby was the first one to sing.
âHere you are, standing under the limelight.
No words can describe this kind of night.
No one can ever take away this euphoric moment.
How could they ever judge the love in the air?â
Cassidy blushed at Ribby and Croaks singing along with Mugman.
âIâm not expecting this,â Cassidy whispered to Mugman.
âMe neither,â Mugman said with a shrug.
Ribby continued to sing while the music began to pick up a bit.
âYou are here now,
Laughing in the tragedy.
A good time that will end soon.
You know what to do next!â
Natalie glanced over at Cuphead, who just shrugged his shoulders.
That was when the music started to pick up at the chorus and Croaks joined Ribby in singing. Both of the frog brothers danced on stage with bright smiles on their faces.
âMake a move!
You know you love each other.
Let this night last forever.
Make a move!
You know you love each other.
Let this night last forever.
Let this love flow in the air!â
Chalice brightly smiled at the frog brothers while tapping her foot to the beat of the music, drawing Canteenâs attention. She got up to dance and grabbed Canteen by the hand.
âCare to dance?â Chalice said with a smirk on her face.
Canteen blushed madly. âO-Oh no, not at all.â
âGood.â Chalice pulled him onto the dance floor, dancing with Canteen. Canteen was a bit clumsy on his steps, but once he started to follow Chaliceâs lead, he started to get the steps down.
Mugman grinned at Chalice and Canteen and got up from his seat. He held his hand out for Cassidy. âWanna dance with me?â
Cassidy smiled and nodded her head. She took his hand as he pulled her off of her seat and danced with her. She was a bit clumsy, but was so Mugman. SoâŠthey were both clumsy together, exchanging small laughter and whispers.
Natalie watched Cassidy smiling and couldnât help but smiled for her best friend. However, she frowned a bit. She wished she could find someone to love like that.
âWanna dance?â
Natalie glanced up at Cuphead, who softly smiled at her.
âPwease, sissy?â Aurora begged.
Natalie rolled her eyes playfully at her little sister. âFine. Iâll embarrass myself for this one night.â
Cuphead chuckled and watched her take his hand.
âIf I step on your toes, Iâm sorry in advance,â Natalie said while including Aurora in the dance.
âI ainât too worried about it,â Cuphead replied softly.
Natalie smiled at him while they started to dance.
Croaks started the second verse with glee.
âHere you are, dancing to the jazz.
Your hearts synced together.
The world fades from all around you.
Donât let otherâs judgments scare you.
Tonight might be the last night
That youâll ever have peace.
So, why not focus on tonight?
You know what to do next.â
Ribby and Croaks crooned together in the chorus.
âMake a move!
You know you love each other.
Let this night last forever.
Make a move!
You know you love each other.
Let this night last forever.
Let this love flow in the air!â
The band approached the bridge while the kids were dancing and laughing together as if it was their final night of being at peace and joy.
Ribby and Croaks sang together in a harmonizing melody with passion on the bridge with Ribby singing his first part.
âNowâs your chance.
Nowâs your chance, whoa!
Sweep her off her feet!
Dance with him under the moonlight!â
Croaks sang his part with his eyes closed.
âThe daylight is cominâ, donât waste time now.
Tonight might be the last night
We will live without the Night Stalkers.â
Both Ribby and Croaks repeated the bridge together.
âNowâs your chance.
Nowâs your chance, whoa!
Sweep her off her feet!
Dance with him under the moonlight!
The daylight is cominâ, donât waste time now.
Tonight might be the last night
We will live without the Night Stalkers.â
Natalie stepped on Cupheadâs toes by accident, who didnât feel it strangelyâŠalthough it wasnât like he cared whether he felt it or not. Chalice and Canteen were having a great time dancing while Mugman held Cassidy close to him.
Ribby and Croaks sang the final verse.
âMake a move!
You know you love each other.
Let this night last forever.
Make a move!
You know you love each other.
Let this night last forever.
Let this love flow in the air!â
As the music was dying down while Ribby and Croaks continued the chorus until the jazz softened. Chalice and Canteen were chatting to each other about how fun the dance was. Natalie and Cuphead tried not to look at each other while blushing around each other, which earned a giggle from Aurora.
Meanwhile, Mugman held Cassidy close to where he could whisper in her ears.
âHow was that for our first date?â Mugman whispered to her.
âIt was perfect,â Cassidy said while leaning away from him.
Cassidy and Mugman stared at each other, the world around them fading around them. The moonlight shined down on them while the stars twinkled and reflected on the water. Cassidy smiled at him warmly and kissed his big blue nose. Mugman shivered from the kiss, feeling his heart racing from her kissing his nose. He giggled when she pressed her head against his forehead with a purr.
Mugman blushed and hugged Cassidy close to him, swearing to himself silently that he would never let her go.
The ferry boat arrived back on shore with Elder Kettle, Porkrind, and Jerry waiting by the shoreline to pick up the kids.
The kids got out of the ferry boat after the passengers left already, bidding Ribby and Croaks farewell and thanking them for a wonderful night. The ferry boat took off to park at the shore near the dark forest between the big city and the coastal town.
Cassidy and Mugman held hands and their shoulders were more closer than before.
Natalie, Cuphead, Canteen, and Chalice walked out of the ferry boat with blushes around each other while Aurora was holding Natalieâs hand.
âSooo, how did you guys like your date?â Elder Kettle asked.
Mugman and Cassidy sighed dreamily with a love-sick smiles.
âI guess it went well,â Jerry responded. âYou can put down the knife now, Porkrind.â
Porkrind lowered his knife with a grumble. âHeâs lucky that the date went well.â
Jerry patted the pigâs shoulder. âI know. I know.â
âLetâs go home,â Elder Kettle suggested.
The kids nodded their heads in agreement and walked with the adults back to the mansion with their hearts warm and their smiles never-ending.
Unbeknownst to them, Ribby and Croaks were knocked out and carried out of the ferry boat by a couple of hooded assassins.Â

Enhancing Beauty and Health: A Guide to Dental and Cosmetic Treatments in Dubai
Dubai is renowned for its luxurious lifestyle, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and advanced medical facilities. Whether youâre seeking to enhance your smile with teeth veneers, consult with a top-rated female gynecologist, or rejuvenate your appearance with a facelift or dermal fillers, Dubai offers a myriad of options. This article explores the best dental and cosmetic treatments available in Dubai, ensuring you find the right solutions for your needs.
Teeth Veneers Dubai: Achieving the Perfect Smile
A beautiful smile can significantly boost your confidence, and teeth veneers are a popular solution for achieving that perfect smile. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, improving their appearance. They are ideal for correcting issues such as discoloration, chipped or broken teeth, and gaps between teeth.
In Dubai, dental clinics offer high-quality veneers made from durable materials like porcelain and composite resin. These clinics use advanced technology to ensure that the veneers fit perfectly and blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. The process typically involves a consultation, preparation of the teeth, and placement of the veneers, all of which can be completed in a few visits.
Dental Clinic in Dubai: Comprehensive Oral Care
Choosing the right dental clinic in Dubai is crucial for maintaining good oral health. The best clinics provide comprehensive services, including routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and cosmetic procedures like veneers and teeth whitening. These clinics are staffed with experienced dentists and hygienists who use the latest techniques and equipment to deliver top-notch care.
When selecting a dental clinic in Dubai, look for one that offers personalized care and has a reputation for excellence. Many clinics provide a comfortable and welcoming environment, ensuring that your dental visits are as pleasant as possible. Additionally, top clinics often have specialists in various fields of dentistry, ensuring that all your dental needs are met under one roof.
Dermal Fillers Jawline: Sculpting and Contouring
Dermal fillers are a popular non-surgical option for enhancing facial features and achieving a more youthful appearance. Specifically, dermal fillers for the jawline can help define and contour the jaw, providing a more sculpted and balanced look. This treatment involves injecting hyaluronic acid-based fillers into targeted areas to add volume and improve the jawlineâs shape.
Dubaiâs cosmetic clinics are known for their expertise in administering dermal fillers. These clinics employ skilled practitioners who use precise techniques to ensure natural-looking results. The procedure is quick, typically taking less than an hour, with minimal downtime. Patients can expect immediate improvements in the jawlineâs definition, which can last from six months to two years, depending on the type of filler used.
Female Gynecologist Near Me: Personalized Womenâs Health Care
Finding a female gynecologist near you is essential for personalized and comfortable womenâs health care. In Dubai, many women prefer consulting with female gynecologists for their expertise and understanding of female-specific health issues. These specialists offer a range of services, including routine gynecological exams, prenatal and postnatal care, contraceptive counseling, and treatment for various gynecological conditions.
When searching for a female gynecologist in Dubai, consider their qualifications, experience, and patient reviews. A good gynecologist should provide compassionate care, listen to your concerns, and offer appropriate medical advice and treatments. Many clinics in Dubai provide a welcoming environment with modern facilities to ensure that patients feel at ease during their visits.
Plastic Surgery Face Lift: Rejuvenating Your Appearance
For those seeking more dramatic improvements in their facial appearance, a facelift (rhytidectomy) is a popular option. This surgical procedure helps reduce the signs of aging by tightening loose skin, removing excess fat, and lifting the facial tissues. A facelift can address issues such as sagging skin, deep wrinkles, and loss of muscle tone, providing a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Dubai is home to some of the worldâs leading plastic surgeons, known for their expertise in facial cosmetic surgery. These surgeons use advanced techniques to ensure natural-looking results with minimal scarring. The procedure typically involves an initial consultation, during which the surgeon assesses your facial structure and discusses your goals. The surgery itself can take several hours, and recovery time varies from patient to patient, but most individuals can return to their normal activities within a few weeks.
Conclusion: Embrace the Best of Dubaiâs Medical and Cosmetic Services
Dubaiâs medical and cosmetic services are second to none, offering residents and visitors access to top-notch treatments and expert care. Whether youâre enhancing your smile with teeth veneers, maintaining your health with the help of a female gynecologist, or rejuvenating your appearance with dermal fillers or a facelift, Dubaiâs clinics and specialists are equipped to meet your needs.
By choosing the right providers and treatments, you can achieve your health and beauty goals, ensuring that you look and feel your best. Embrace the opportunities available in Dubai and take advantage of the cityâs advanced medical and cosmetic services to enhance your well-being and confidence.
