The Hawk Takes Flight

Chapter 4 [AO3 & FFN]; Start Here [AO3 & FFN]

In the Earth year 1999, The Thanagarian Empire sends two agents – First Lieutenant Commander Shayera Hol and her cousin Corporal Fel Andar – to the planet Earth to study it’s defenses under the pretense that the Gordanians have targeted it for invasion. The objective being to prioritize their mission over any attachments they will make, and as you will know, it will prove to be easier said than done for one of them in five years to come.

Excerpt:

It was twenty minutes before the lunch hour when Corporal Fel Andar had decided to travel over to the infirmary. First Lieutenant Major Corla Javat was in charge of medical operations; with Second Lieutenant Marshal Rygel Par filling in for her in the times she had to fill in for Lieutenant Hol as espionage instructor when the usual substitute wasn’t able to. Therefore he stood outside the thick, metal doors of the critical care unit. Standing back as the doors slid open. “…that it was just the bottom half of her right leg, and that we were able to save the left wing,” Corla spoke as she stepped out of the room. Watching as she shrugged and then pulled off her white lab jacket and handed it to the person she was with. “Alright, I will be signing off for lunch. Don’t bother me unless there’s a significant change in her condition.” “How’s Commander Thal doing?” Fel had asked Corla. “Compared to when the medics started working on her, better,” Corla answered as they began walking down the corridors. “She should be back to duty in a couple weeks. How is the espionage wing going?’ Fel answers with a chuckle. “The same. What else?” It wasn’t that Fel Andar hated working the espionage wing. He liked cataloguing what the intelligence operatives had gathered on their missions. However, it was tedious. Even if he had done some intelligence work, it was to accompany some higher up on a mission. He was at a rank where they could send him on his own or accompany another operative for a high stakes mission. There was the thought that he might not be able to with his diluted blood.

Destination...Sunshine

The idea of living in a place with all four seasons is very appealing to me until it gets too hot or too cold! A good snow is nice, but then I’m ready for summer if I’m going to be really truthful! The option to travel to a place with a different climate is the best option and from here in North Carolina, you just can’t beat Miami! It’s such a short plane ride and after you land, you can be settled into your room and on the beach or by the pool in an hour-ish!

You’ll want to make sure to pack a suitcase full of great swimsuit options and a few things for lunching by the pool! Boston Proper has THE BEST options in their new Destination Drop! The pieces I’m wearing here are just a small sample, so be sure to check out the website so you can choose your favorites!

This swimsuit is my favorite of all! The color and pattern are so much fun and I like the rise of the bottoms s well as the underwire in the top! The coverup is perfect to throw over for a walk or lunch! It’s such a put together look!

It was a bit windy the morning we shot these pictures and this coverup kept me looking cute and blocked the wind!

Don’t save these palazzo pants just for the pool! They’re also perfect for a day of shopping and they are so flattering! You can shop my cute clear handbag here!

Speaking of flattering! The plunge neck of this fabulous swimsuit along with the cutout panels are so slimming! I added a beautiful necklace from Julie Miles to most of my looks for this shoot!

I wanted to include the picture above so you would have an idea of the coverage of the bottoms on this swimsuit! The cut is the same as the first pink one and the bottoms stay in place so you’re not always tugging at them! A sunhat is essential for the hot Miami sun and this one is from Eric Javats and is made for packing!
