The elusive Jatayusisyurdu is a rare species of Pteranodontia that migrates from Lemuria to Australia and Africa. This was an uncommon sight, and it was tought to catch fish with its strong feet, from which they could not escape.
Jatayusisyurdu pierces fish scales or carcasses using its beak. The Jatayusisyurdu's long snout and wings function as airfoils, giving this species a tiny amount of force that helps to maintain its flight. They are made to effectively dampen any tendency to pitch or yaw, keeping the body and wing pointed in the direction of movement.
This pteranodontia was named after Jatayu, the "King of Vultures" (gṛdhrarāja). According to the Ramayana, the rakshasa of Sri Lanka, Ravana, was abducting the avatar of Lakshmi, Sita, Jatayu tried to rescue her.
