Malligé. Gajra. Jasmine.
Whiffs of jasmine breath ruffle the balmy air, a tendril-like unfurling, tender, tremendously trusting of wind’s whimsical wanderings. Malligé for some and Gajra for some others and so many more names for this short-lived whiteness that spreads only fragrance and joy before its withering. And in its ageing, its browning, returning us to the brownness of Earth itself, to stay grounded no matter…

We'll say hello again (Nevermind the chasm between us) 16
Seeing her twin the first thing in the morning did brighten her mood but the way Amar kept on bouncing on his feet was not a good idea.
"Get up, come on, come, come on!" He cheers over her as Gauri buries herself under her blanket once more, trying and failing to ignore her brother. "It's Mahashivratri, come on, we'll be late for pooja!"
Gauri throws the blankets off of herself and sits up, glaring grumpily at Amar. "I despise you," she says and Amar laughs because he knows it's a lie.
She manages to throw him out of her room and call for her handmaid to help her with her hair, throwing a sparse greeting at Yamuna at the door before she locks her brother out. Gauri huffs as she chooses her saree, a soft pink saree with pale golden hand block prints. It's one that she customised for herself, as a birthday gift for herself. Spoiling herself is a good thing, if done once in a while.
She's taken to draping her saree in a way that lets her move more freely, ready for a possible attack at any time. She doesn't trust her safety in the halls of the palace, not with Vijay here. A part of her heart throbs at the idea of a what if, a thought that probes at her mind like a needle. (What if she would be married to him?)
(She would rather live the life of a widow.)
Strapping Bhairav's dagger to her calf is a habit by now, and so is the hidden small knife in her waistband, hidden behind her pallu. She feels ridiculous, like she's going for war in her own home, as she steps out of her room, as ready as she'll ever be.
She isn't ready enough.
Gauri's breath leaves her chest in a fell swoop as her eyes fall on Bhairav, who is wearing that periwinkle tunic she's made for him. It looks perfect on him. He looks half a god, suitable to his name. Long hair left to the wind, a chandan tilak on his forehead and eyes unwavering as he looks at her, and only her. The tunic drapes over his shoulders like a physical caress, the embroidery on his collar stark against the blue. It fits him perfectly, looking comfortable in movement and yet emphasises his lean torso.
Gauri feels a spark of something primal in her chest and throat as she sees him wearing something she made and gave him. The urge to make another tunic for him rises, the need to make him a new wardrobe so he only wears what she makes for him.
The storm rising in her chest is hard to control but Gauri pushes it backwards forcefully when his eyes stray from her form, downward to his hands. Gauri tries to keep track of his gaze but it is hard, because as his neck moves, she sees the last letter of his name embroidered on the back of the kurta in her stitches. In red. (Red that matches her alta.)
Bhairav clears his throat hesitantly and looks back at her, reluctance in his sharp eyes. Gauri raises her eyebrows with a smile. Bhairav wets his lips for a moment before he speaks. "Shubh Mahashivratri, my princess. I hope you do not mind but I have stepped out of my bounds and dared—" He doesn't complete his sentence and raises his hand between them, a jasmine flower gajra in hand.
It's the two of them in the corridor, and Gauri feels the eyes of the Sun on them as she smiles wider in sheer giddiness. She's never worn a gajra before. She's always wanted to, but there's always a rush or something else and she always forgets to ask for a gajra to any of her handmaids.
"Of course, I do not mind, Bhairav," she says, sounding exhilarated to herself. She turns on her heels and looks over her shoulder. "Would you, please—?"
Bhairav looks like he's about to stutter something about his boundaries, so Gauri gives him a pleading look before turning her face away, leaving the decision in his hands. She knows she can't force an act of friendship and she needs to trust him to act on his wishes.
She doesn't hear him move until he's behind her, the smell of jasmine, chandan, and something earthy hitting her like a drug. Gauri stays still and her eyes close on their own when she feels Bhairav's fingers lightly brush away her hair from behind her ears. She feels her ears heat up and opens her eyes as he's putting the gajra in the small braided section of her hair that meets together at the back of her head.
Gauri's eyes fall on the stone floor, and with the sunlight falling in, she sees their shadows on the floor. They appear merged.
After seven more heartbeats, Bhairav finally stills. His fingers adjust the gajra for the last time and linger in her free hair for a breath, grazing the cascade of her hair for a moment before pulling away.
Gauri turns around to face him and beams at him, even as she feels a flush crawl up her neck. "Thank you, Bhairav."
He bows his head to her and steps back, the smell of chandan lingering like a caress between the two of them. "Anything for you, my princess."
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
Amar is as insufferable as ever as he groans when they see each other. "Why are you so late?" He almost whines as soon as she is in earshot.
Gauri raises an eyebrow at him and looks around pointedly. Vijay, a couple of more soldiers, Amar, Katappa, Bhalla, Veeraraj, Bhairav, and Gauri. Even Maa or uncle aren't here.
"It takes time and dedication to maintain the elegance that Mahadev only gave to only one of you." Bhalla says, slinging an arm around her shoulders. Gauri is momentarily scared for her gajra, but she relaxes instantly under Bhalla's arm, as she's been doing for years.
Vijay gives him a side-eyed look. "Yes, because He wanted the other one to come on Mahashivratri at the time!"
"Oh, then, would you mind fetching the rest of the royal family and the royal priest?" Gauri asks, her hackles raised with the way Vijay spoke between the siblings.
"I'm sorry, do I look like your pet guard dog? He's standing behind you." Vijay snidely replies, eyeing Bhairav with disdain. Amar senses the tension and moves closer, towards Gauri.
Gauri knows how loyal and how fierce Bhairav is. Comparing him to a guard dog is not wrong. However. However. However.
Only she can do that. Because she appreciates and approves the fierceness he has, the growl he has, the sheer capacity of destruction he has. Because she knows his loyalty, she knows she is his North and she is his law. Because he is her protection, he is her health and he is backbone. Someone to adore and protect— that is the relationship of a guard dog and its master. That is the relationship of Bhairav and Gauri, with reciprocation. He protects and adores her, and she does the same for him. He may be likened to a guard dog, but by her only. She may be likened to a guard dog, but by him only.
Gauri feels Bhairav step forward behind her, closing their distance, and she smirks, letting her canines show. "You should be glad that Bhairav has better manners than your guards. At least, mine is loyal to a fault, Mahoday. Do you want Bhairav to teach them some loyalty? I assure you, he won't mind."
As expected, Vijay turns his head sharply at his soldiers and Gauri feels cold satisfaction thrum in her ears.
So easy to manipulate. So easy, in fact, even Amar could have done it.
Before he can say anything else, the guards around them announce the arrival of Maa and Bhalla removes his hand from her, straightening up beside her. Amar and Bhairav remain at their respective positions.
"Don't play with fire, Gauri." Bhalla says, eyes towards his parents. "We can't forget our diplomacy."
Gauri keeps her eyes at her uncle and aunt too. "And he can't forget his station. I refrain from being arrogant, brother, but I will not stand for insults against me or mine. He is barely refraining from disrespecting me in a way that will be treason. We all know the punishment for treason."
Maa comes to them with a smile on her face that dims a bit when she sees the looks on their faces. "What happened?"
"Vijay spoke insultingly about Bhairavrath. Gauri implied that he has disloyal guards." Bhalla says, always clinical and logical. That's what she admires about him. He isn't biased with his emotions.
Gauri looks at Shivagami with an unrepentent look. Shivagami shakes her head minutely and purses her lips. "I know what you think, but behave yourself, Gauri. You are a princess. You cannot be accused of being mannerless. If you want retribution, do it discreetly."
"This is discreet, Maa," Gauri says, knowing that her aunt is right,"Being non discreet would be that I'd take his tongue with my dagger for the tone alone."
Maa sighs and turns to Amar, draping an arm around him. "At least tell me your tone was good enough." Gauri nods at her innocently, but something itches at her.
Amar is Maa's favourite. Bhalla is uncle's favourite. Who favours Gauri?
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
Bijjaldev pushes Gauri to do her pooja with Vijay. He almost dwarfs her in height alone, let alone his age. Gauri has half a mind to accidentally injure Vijay's knee so he can't kneel or sit in front of the shivaling with her. Thankfully, Mahadev is on her side.
Vijay doesn't know how to do the pooja. He does the abhisek, from a different vessel than her, closes his eyes, prays for a moment and leaves. Gauri is astonished at his behaviour but uses it to her advantage and looks at Maa, asking silent permission to let her complete her pooja. Maa smiles at her indulgingly and nods.
"Not him, Mahadev," she prays softly in her thoughts after completing her pooja. "Do not make me miserable. Because if I am tied to him, he will come to you. I shall not bear living alone for too long. I want to be loved and cared for. Let me be loved."
She opens her eyes and begins to walk out of the temple, where Amar and Bhairav are standing at the doorway. Amar forwards a hand to her and she easily grasps it following his lead with her head held high.
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
Amar squeezes her hand tightly as they move towards the centre of the temple, struggling with the crowd, even with their security. It's a tight fit, and the temple is decorated in all white flowers, their fragrance soothing and colour blinding, especially as the moonlight catches on them.
The day had been spent normally, but the evening is even brighter in Mahishmati as the whole state echoes the bhajans and chants of Mahadev and Mata Parvati. The evening aarti is even more beautiful and chaotic.
Gauri wishes she could tie her hair up in a bun but she's not touched her hair since the morning— since the moment Bhairav out in the gajra. It stays in her hair, snug and still fragrant. She's not even changed, since the morning.
Gauri keeps Amar ahead of her and Bhalla behind her as they all move, Bhairav and Veeraraj on either side of her. Maa and uncle lead the group, Vijay at the tailend. Her heart is hammering in her chest as she feels sweat clam up on her palms. She organised all this, and as it happens, she's afraid of anything that will go wrong.
Gauri keeps her spine straight and face neutral as they attend the aarti and let's herself smile as she's distributing prasaad to the nobles in the temple.
Just as she's beginning to think that everything has gone well, she turns away from Vijay to go back to Amar, she hears Vijay speak.
"May I have the attention of everyone?" He asks, and doesn't stop for long before banging his hand on a nearby empty platter to grab the attention of the nobles around them. Her heart starts to beat faster and she feels her smile freeze on her face, shoulders turning rigid. She feels the heat of panic spread in her chest and arms.
"In the attention of Mahadev and on this auspicious day of Mahashivratri, I announce my proposal to court Gauraangi Devi."
The empty thaali of prasaad stays in her hand and Gauri remembers another plate, years ago, that she used to make another egoistic man bleed.
The need for blood rises.

DAY EIGHT
(hi, remember that if you guys have any ideas for questions I can use, you all can feel free to drop them in my box! not running out of inspiration yet, but its cool to have a wide variety of questions that I might not think of otherwise!)
~season edition~
what season are you living in right now?
what do you like most about it?
what do you like least about it?
what is your favorite season and why? (if it isn't the one you're already living in now lol)
what is your least favorite season and why? (if it isn't the one you're already living in now lol)
if there was one thing you could add/take away/change about 1 season of the year, what would it be and why?
and finally, what are some of your favorite local plants that go with each season? (example: spring-daffodils, summer-roses, fall-sunflowers, winter-evergreen) (can be any plants too, not just flowers)
I am so glad you're asking this so I can rant about the weather haha
what season are you living in right now? Summer or may I say ✨intense✨ summer with a side of random weather thanks to climate change lol
what do you like most about it? Mangoes, watermelons, lychees, icecreams, swimming and random holidays cuz of the heatwave lol
what do you like least about it? The crazy temperatures which almost touch 50°C. The constant dehydration, heat strokes, sun burns, fainting etc.
what is your favorite season and why? Winters sjskskks cuz it's very festive haha and my birthday is in winter. Also you get these array of fresh veggies, warm blankets and beverages and just comfort.
what is your least favorite season and why? Summers cuz of the intense heat and all the reasons I listed above lol.
if there was one thing you could add/take away/change about 1 season of the year, what would it be and why? I would actually enjoy summer if it wasn't soooo hot lol or winter if it wasn't exam season 💀
and finally, what are some of your favorite local plants that go with each season? This reminds me of my childhood home where my grandpa had made this huge beautiful garden with so many different kinda of plants and flowers omg I miss it.
Summers - I love Jasmine (mogra) during this season, we had lots of bushes of them. They are white really small flowers and smell really good. Soni, I was having a larry breakdown and I just need to ask something. I feel like louis and harry love each other extremely much and would do/give up anything to save their relationship/ marriage. I feel like they love each other much more than 'normal' couples, do you agree? Because i feel like I might be putting them on a pedestal or something. But I mean that they were so young and decided to get full body tattoos for each other (a life long bond, louis said that), they have written countless of love songs for each other, they had to actually fight for each other, they found home in each other and they have a bond they understand. Not to mention the fact that Harry literally said in an interview that he loves love and he loves the fact that after falling in love you are a team (he loves it more than the actual falling in love process). Then the protecting each other’s solitude quote and is you're best friend 'just do it" (get married). Like??? Normal couples don't have THIS deep type of love right? So am i exaggerating here or not?
If i'm exaggerating it's probably because I have indian parents and they never show each other love🥲
the way i see it, they met when they were teenagers, when you feel too much of everything and amidst the chaos of the band and the fame, they felt safety and comfort within each other and clung onto it. it's like in a world of screaming colours and sounds, they became each other's quiet solitude and felt calm. nothing about their relationship is "normal" given the fame aspect of it but they navigate through it using the only way know : through songs. and as i said, there's always an exaggeration and hyperbolic hint to it.
i do think that sometimes we put their love story on a pedestal because it does seem a bit cosmical, but at the end of the day, it's just two boys who met when they were very young and fell in love and never looked back.
above everything else, we need to always remember that whatever they do - tattoos, songs and the quotes - they're doing it for themselves and not for us. it's their way of expressing love for each other and we're all just bystanders. it's as simple as going to a farmer's market and you glance around your surroundings and see that the world is filled with love. and harry and louis happen to be two simple people in love. i think it's very important to remember that it's their life and we're just witnessing it and that all of the things they do aren't necessarily for us, we're just lucky enough to be along for the ride.
as for normal couple and love, i think everyone has their own idea of expressing love and navigating through a relationship. my friend's boyfriend brings her flowers every single time he comes by, and now that they live together, he still makes sure that the flower vase is never empty. we don't normally get gajra (jasmine) in delhi so everytime my dad goes to south india, he makes sure to go to shops right before leaving for the airport to get fresh gajra for my mum. my friend's girlfriend loved orange lays and so everytime he went to see her, he'd get a packet for her. i think what i'm trying to say is, while some people give flowers, others write songs and it's still love and it's still just as deep and it's still strong.

7 Stylish Tips to Accessorize Your Dhakai Jamdani Saree for a Stunning Look
Tumblr media
The Dhakai Jamdani Saree, known for its sheer elegance and intricate weaving patterns, is an iconic symbol of Bengali heritage. Whether it's a traditional event or a festive occasion, this handloom masterpiece never fails to impress. However, to elevate your Dhakai Jamdani Saree look from beautiful to breathtaking, accessorizing is key. From jewelry to footwear, the right accessories can make a world of difference. In this blog, we’ll explore 7 stylish tips and ideas to help you accessorize your Dhakai Jamdani Saree like a fashionista.
Whether you're new to sarees or a seasoned saree lover, these tips will enhance your traditional attire and help you stand out.
1.Pick the Perfect Jewelry
Jewelry can either complement or overwhelm your saree look. Since Dhakai Jamdani Sarees are known for their delicate craftsmanship, it's essential to select jewelry that highlights their grace without overshadowing it.
FAQs on Jewelry Selection:
What type of earrings go with a Dhakai Jamdani Saree?
Opt for traditional earrings such as jhumkas, chandbalis, or studded gold earrings. The key is to strike a balance between elegance and subtlety.
Can I wear heavy jewelry?
If your saree has simple patterns, you can go for heavier pieces like a statement necklace or bold bangles. For a more detailed saree, stick to minimal jewelry to keep the focus on the intricate designs.
2. Statement Blouse: A Game-Changer
Your blouse can either elevate or diminish your overall look. With Dhakai Jamdani Sarees, choosing the right blouse design is essential.
Tips for Choosing a Statement Blouse:
Try contrast colors: Pairing a contrasting blouse with your saree can create a striking appearance. For example, a red blouse with a white Dhakai Jamdani Saree will make you stand out.
Experiment with patterns and embroidery: If your saree is light on patterns, consider a blouse with rich embroidery or bold patterns to create a focal point.
3. Belt It Up for a Modern Twist
A belt is an unconventional yet trendy accessory for sarees. Adding a belt to your Dhakai Jamdani Saree can not only give it a contemporary touch but also accentuate your waistline, adding structure to the flowing fabric.
FAQs on Wearing Belts with Sarees:
Which type of belt should I choose?
For a Dhakai Jamdani Saree, go for a sleek, metallic belt or an embroidered cloth belt that complements the saree's color.
How do I style the belt with my saree?
Drape the saree as usual, and place the belt just above your waist. Ensure it doesn't disrupt the pleats but enhances your figure.
4.Elegant Footwear to Elevate Your Look
Your choice of footwear can make or break your saree ensemble. Pairing the right shoes with your Dhakai Jamdani Saree is crucial for both comfort and style.
Footwear Suggestions:
Traditional juttis or mojris: These flat shoes are perfect for comfort and add a touch of tradition to your saree look.
Heels for added height:If you want a more formal or elongated look, go for block heels or stilettos. Ensure they match or complement your saree color palette.
5. Add a Potli Bag or Clutch
A stylish potli bag or clutch is not only functional but also adds a dash of elegance to your saree look. Since Dhakai Jamdani Sarees are rooted in tradition, pairing them with a traditional potli bag or a chic clutch can complete your ensemble.
Bag Style Recommendations:
Potli bags with embroidery or mirror work:These bags complement the handloom design of Dhakai Jamdani Sarees and add a festive feel.
Minimalist clutch for a modern look: If you’re going for a fusion look, choose a minimalist clutch with metallic or monochrome designs.
6.Accessorize Your Hair
Your hairstyle can significantly influence your overall look. Adding hair accessories that resonate with your saree style can enhance your Dhakai Jamdani Saree ensemble.
Hair Accessories Ideas:
Floral Gajra: Adorn your hair with fresh jasmine flowers to add a traditional touch, perfect for festive or wedding occasions.
Beaded or Metallic Hairpins: For a modern and sleek look, go for beaded or metallic hairpins that add a subtle shimmer to your hairstyle.
7.Finish with a Bindi and Bangles
No traditional Indian outfit is complete without the finishing touch of a bindi and bangles. These small yet significant accessories add to the cultural essence of your Dhakai Jamdani Saree look.
Bindi and Bangles Tips:
Choose a bindi that complements your saree’s colors:-
A simple red or black bindi often works well, but don’t shy away from experimenting with colored bindis that match your saree.
Bangles for a complete look:Opt for gold bangles for a classic look or mix and match with colorful glass bangles to add some vibrancy.
Conclusion
Accessorizing your Dhakai Jamdani Saree can transform your look from traditional to trendsetting. With the right combination of jewelry, footwear, and hair accessories, you can create an ensemble that captures both tradition and contemporary flair. Whether it’s a wedding, festival, or a family gathering, these accessorizing tips will ensure that you stand out in your beautiful Dhakai Jamdani Saree.
Remember, the key is balance. Accessorizing is an art that requires mindful choices to enhance your saree’s beauty without overwhelming it. So, embrace your personal style and make your Dhakai Jamdani Saree shine with these fashionable tips!

Poola Jada Designs That Leave a Lasting Impression
In the kaleidoscope of South Indian bridal adornments, few elements captivate the imagination and evoke timeless beauty quite like Poola Jada. This traditional bridal hairstyle, adorned with meticulously crafted floral designs, is a visual symphony that goes beyond mere aesthetics. Poola Jada designs are an expression of cultural richness, symbolic significance, and an enduring commitment to tradition. In this exploration, we delve into the enchanting world of Pelli Poola designs that not only capture the eye but also leave an indelible impression.
Tumblr media
Intricate Weaves of Tradition:
At the heart of every Pelli Poola design lies a tapestry of intricate weaves that tell a story of tradition and artistry. Expert artisans meticulously select and arrange a variety of flowers, weaving them into patterns that range from the classic to the avant-garde. The symmetrical alignment of jasmine, marigold, and other blossoms creates a harmonious blend that is both visually stunning and culturally significant.
Symbolism in Bloom:

Accessorizing Your Silk Sarees: Tips for a Stunning Look
Silk Sarees are timeless and elegant, making them a popular choice for various occasions. Whether you’re attending a wedding, a formal event, or a festive celebration, a silk saree can make you look incredibly stunning. However, the key to achieving a truly show-stopping look lies in how you accessorize it. In this blog, we’ll explore some essential tips to help you enhance your appearance and make the most of your silk saree. From jewellery and footwear to hairstyles and makeup, we’ve got you covered!
Choose the Right Jewelry:
One of the most crucial aspects of accessorizing a silk saree is selecting the right jewellery. The choice of jewellery can either elevate your look or overwhelm it. When wearing a silk saree, opt for traditional jewellery pieces like gold or silver. For a classic look, pair a Kanjivaram sarees with antique gold jewellery. If your saree is heavily embellished, go for simpler jewellery to balance the overall look.
When selecting a necklace, take your blouse’s neckline into account. A choker or a short necklace complements a high-neck blouse, while a long necklace looks great with a deep-neck blouse. Earrings should also be chosen based on your face shape — studs for round faces, long earrings for oval faces, and hoops for square faces.
The Right Footwear:
Your choice of footwear can make or break your silk saree look. Choose footwear that goes well with your saree and is both comfy and attractive. Heels can add elegance and height, making you appear taller and slimmer. However, if you’re not comfortable in heels, consider embellished flats or juttis for a traditional touch.
The colour of your footwear should match or complement the saree. Nude or metallic shades are versatile choices that go well with most silk sarees. Avoid sneakers or sporty shoes, as they can clash with the saree’s elegance.
The Perfect Hairstyle:
Your hairstyle plays a significant role in completing your silk saree look. Depending on your saree’s style and your personal preferences, you can opt for various hairstyles. For a traditional look, consider a neat bun adorned with gajra (jasmine flowers) or fresh flowers. This style works particularly well with heavy silk sarees.
If you prefer an elegant yet modern look, try a loose side-swept bun or cascading curls. These hairstyles go beautifully with lighter silk sarees and can be accessorized with hairpins or decorative hair accessories.
For a contemporary twist, you can even experiment with braids or a half-up, half-down hairstyle. Whichever hairstyle you choose, make sure it complements the overall aesthetics of your saree and enhances your facial features.
Makeup That Enhances:
Your makeup should enhance your natural beauty while complementing your silk saree. Start with a good base, choosing a foundation that matches your skin tone. Choose a matte finish to reduce shine.
For your eyes, classic winged eyeliner and mascara are timeless choices. You can also experiment with eyeshadow shades that match your saree’s colour palette. Don’t forget to groom your eyebrows to frame your face.
For lips, choose a lipstick shade that complements the saree’s colour. Bold reds, pinks, or subtle nudes can work wonders, depending on your outfit and personal style.
Lastly, a subtle blush and highlighter can add a healthy glow to your face. Ensure that your makeup is well-blended and not too overpowering, keeping the focus on your saree.

Indian weddings are renowned for their grandeur, tradition, and opulence. Amidst all the preparations and festivities, one aspect that holds a special place is the bride's look. Choosing the perfect wedding hairstyle is a crucial part of this process, as it can significantly enhance the bride's overall appearance. In this blog, we'll explore some stunning wedding hairstyles for Indian weddings that blend tradition and modernity to create a timeless, elegant look.
The Significance of Wedding Hairstyles
In Indian culture, hair is considered a symbol of strength and beauty. The way a bride's hair is styled carries cultural and emotional importance. It's not just about looking beautiful; it's about reflecting the bride's personality and the traditions she upholds. Here are some exquisite wedding hairstyles that capture the essence of Indian weddings:
1. The Classic Bun
The traditional bun is a timeless favorite among Indian brides. It's a versatile style that can be customized to suit various bridal looks. The classic bun can be adorned with delicate flowers, ornamental hairpins, or bejeweled accessories. This style keeps the hair neatly in place, allowing the focus to remain on the bride's face and attire.
2. The Half-Up, Half-Down Style
The half-up, half-down hairstyle offers a blend of tradition and modernity. It allows the bride to showcase her long, luscious hair while also keeping it under control. This style can be enhanced with braids, twists, or curls, and it pairs beautifully with traditional headpieces or veils.
3. The Timeless Braid
Braids have an eternal charm and can be intricately woven to create stunning bridal hairstyles. Whether it's a fishtail braid, a waterfall braid, or a simple three-strand braid, this style adds a touch of grace to the bride's look. Braids can be adorned with flowers, beads, or jewellery to match the wedding theme.
4. The Side-Swept Elegance
A side-swept hairstyle exudes sophistication and charm. The hair is elegantly swept to one side, creating a romantic and soft look. This style complements various bridal accessories, such as maang tikkas and jhumar headpieces.
5. The Floral Extravaganza
Floral hairstyles are a popular choice for Indian brides, especially for outdoor and daytime weddings. Flowers like roses, jasmine, and marigolds are woven into the bride's hair, adding a natural, fragrant touch. Floral hair garlands, known as "gajras," are often used to adorn buns or braids.
6. The Statement Updo
The statement updo is all about creating a striking bridal look. This style often involves intricate and artistic hair designs that showcase the bride's elegance. It's an ideal choice for brides who want to make a bold and memorable entrance.
Accessorizing Your Wedding Hairstyle
Adding accessories to your wedding hairstyle can elevate the overall look. Here are some popular options:
Maang Tikka: A central piece worn on the forehead, it's a symbol of blessings and honor.
Jhumar: A side headpiece that adds a regal touch to the hairstyle.
Hairpins and Combs: Decorative hairpins and combs can be used to secure the hair and add a touch of glamour.
Matha Patti: A forehead ornament that frames the face beautifully.
Nath: A nose ring that can add a unique charm to the bride's look.
Conclusion
In an Indian wedding, the bride's hairstyle is not just a part of her look; it's a reflection of her culture, traditions, and personal style. The wedding hairstyles for Indian weddings are a beautiful blend of classic charm and contemporary flair. They complement the bride's attire and accessories, creating a captivating and timeless look.
When choosing your wedding hairstyle, consider your cultural background, personal preferences, and the theme of your wedding. And, most importantly, select a style that makes you feel confident, beautiful, and ready to embark on your journey of love and togetherness.
