WAS IT JARQUANZELA??

Was anyone here ever on scratch... I just remembered this series of comedy animations that was fairly popular but i cant remember the name. the main character wore a green outfit and a bandana on his head, his name was 4+ syllables and either made up or really uncommon.

the stories were usually about him trying to make food(?) there was one about him making burritos and another one about pancakes, and it would either go horribly wrong or things would happen so he'd have to go through a bunch of crazy stuff first. And i think his mom (played by the same voice actor just doing a high pitched voice) would usually show up and yell at him.

So I rewatched The Slatch & Scratch Sagas the other day and decided to finish an old sketch I did while the series was still coming out. I think it turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself!

This series is pretty obscure outside of Scratch so I don’t blame you if you have no idea what this is. Basically, it’s about the series’ creator, WazzoTV, fighting to save the website from various evils. This poster is specifically based on the first half of the series, referred to as The Slatch Saga.

It’s a really fun and really underrated series, which I’d highly recommend. It’s insanely well-made considering that:

A majority of it was done by a single college kid.

It was animated almost entirely on a programming website intended for young kids that doesn’t have onion-skinning, a timeline, or anything. You can’t even pause or skip ahead in a video. It’s very much not designed for serious animation projects like this.

It started entirely as a joke.

TL;DR - I did a drawing based on a silly series of Scratch animations that I think everyone should be supporting because it’s actually insane what Wazzo and his crew have managed to pull off.

WazzoTV is great and deserves more love outside of Scratch.
