How to Create a Vertical Garden with Paper Flowers

An easy d.i.y way to display your paper roses.

If you love flowers like me, you understand how happy walking into a room full will make you!  

Paper flowers have been everywhere.  People use them at all types of events and in their homes because they really do make spaces extra beautiful.

Here is a new and easy DIY way to display them.

You will need:

- Paper Flowers in varied sizes (small and medium sizes shown here)

- Artificial Greenery tiles 

(I’ve used 9 tiles in this project but you can use more or less)

- Safety Pins

- Command Strip Hooks

The first step is putting your tiles together to the desired dimension. 

I made mine 3 by 3 with a total of 9 tiles, because I like the square shape for my space.  You can select any arrangement like a horizontal rectangle, a vertical rectangle, you can even do a single row border that can look really pretty too.

They are pretty simple to put together.  The hardest part is pushing the little heads through the holes using your bare fingers, but it’s ok.  The instructions are included in the package but it’s all very straight forward.

 Once you have all your greenery together, it’s time to add your flowers.  Most paper flowers come with some kind of loop in the backs for hanging.  What you are going to do is use those loops to attach them to the greens.  This is where your safety pins come in.  You need a larger size safety pin for this. Mine have an opening of about 1 1/4″.  You can get them slightly larger but not smaller, so that they can go all the way through when you are attaching your flowers.

Next, figure out what you want your flower arrangement to be by moving them around until you love their placement and how it all looks.

Take a picture of it.

I like to take a picture of it in case they move while I am attaching them.

Now it’s time to start putting this baby together.

I like to start with the flowers at one end of my greenery.  Carefully roll up the green from the edge and Insert the safety pin from the back towards the front.  Hook your flower on, and pin back  towards the back of the green again and close your safety pin.  There!  You’ve got your first flower on!

Repeat this with each of your flowers moving from one end of your greenery, toward the center slowly rolling the green as you go.  When you get to the center, you can start to roll it from the other end, attaching the flowers on that end.

Once all of your flowers are secured on the free, you can go prep the spot where it will hang.

I recommend using Command Strip hooks because they are so sturdy and they won’t ruin your walls.  They really hold up really nicely and are super easy to apply.  You only need 2 of them for this size square: one on each end at the top edge.  If you are using a bigger square or rectangle, it may require an additional hook in the center for extra support.

Once you have your hooks on, go on and hang your beautiful garden.  

And enjoy!

This makes for beautiful decor at home.  It is also an amazing backdrop for photographs, birthday parties, baby showers, garden theme parties, baby nurseries or anywhere you can think of!

Rosa marchita

En un jardín hay tantas rosas, pero hay cosas que uno no llega a ver ya que sale apurado para llegar a trabajar o a estudiar, entonces no nota los detalles. No notan que ese rosal solo tiene una rosa viva y delicada, que toda la planta está muerta menos esa flor. ¡Cuánta esperanza en una sola flor! ¿Y si de eso tratara la vida? Notar que cuando todo se está desapareciendo, cuando todo está mal, ¿mirar la rosa que aún sigue viva? Que se mantiene a pesar de que las rosas que tiene al lado ya están marchitas y cabizbajas, debe ser difícil para esa pequeña rosa ser la única que se mantiene. Ver cómo lo que estaba a su al rededor moría Y así me siento yo, nada más que yo ya no estoy tan viva, pronto mi flor va a marchitarse, y va a dejar de decorar este gran jardín. Mi sonrisa no es lúcida ni genuina, solo está para la foto y últimamente quizá ni para eso está, ver cómo lo que está a mi alrededor muere afecta tanto que no sé cuánto vaya a soportar ser la única flor que se mantenga viva
