i messed up his eyes yet again so i gotta wait til they dry & try to redo em, but the second touch-ups done. the gloss effect on the one darker red paint worked well for the trident & tail segments. gotta love a slightly 'wet' look to certain materials, like he freshly formed them from his own flesh. fun!
#jaqart#oc: ankhanum#i still need to try to get at the underside of the hair and fill in those gaps & touch him up.#still some messy spots I gotta paint over.#if i do this again it might be best to sculpt the hair as a separate layer and cure it on its own so it's easier to paint.#either way. its fun. once hes decently neat i can varnish him#i got a matte varnish & gloss to enhance those wet parts.#I've also been told the 'bloody' parchments a great touch.

art v artist. (drawn edition of me.) 2024 was a productive year (for me, considering id been in a years long art slump). i started a 'book' in late 2023 and as of late 2024, the first full drafts done, and ive done a lot of companion illustrations for it & in general. so i feel okay about how 2024 went for me. heres to whatever lies in store.
