I hate that Twitter barely functions. Now I have to post about my Granblue Fantasy addiction here. Anyways fudge this Guild Wars. The only good thing that came out of this was catgirl armpits and thighs.

𝕋𝕣𝕚𝕔𝕜 or Treat...?
Happy Halloween! I got lucky this year just doodling something orb shaped. ♥ Otherwise, I know I wouldn't make the deadline on time.
If you don't give out candy, King Boo will be happy to trick ya... or haunt you for all eternity. Make your pick!

love how weirdo culture war people are proving they don’t actually give a shit about accuracy since they’re losing their shit over assassins creed including yasuke in the latest game who’s, y’know. a guy that actually existed. like bro yasuke is real trade and travel are a thing. “oh but he wasn’t a samurai” bro that’s called artistic license and it is something Japanese media depicting yasuke does too bc like. that exists. and they use artistic licence to make historical figures fit their stories too. he was a real dude who we have historical record of who served oda nobunaga. and like oda nobunaga is SUPER fucking popular as a character in fiction especially in japan it’s so blatantly obvious people don’t actually know shit about the actual historical events of the sengoku period and how japan treats them like there’s a fucking nobunaga pokemon game why aren’t you up in arms about the devs there disrespecting Japanese history by including fucking pokemon surely that’s way less respectful to history.

I always feel bad whenever ppl qrt artists to complain about how they drew something (mainly if it’s harmless) and it goes viral so ppl just start piling onto their shit like crazy to the point of harassment. It’s not that hard to simply ignore it if you don’t like itsjsjs…

harking back to this post i made about imagine make-up artist (aka cosmetic paradise meiku no kiseki), i've discovered more hidden gems hidden in the depths of ubisoft's localization treatment.
all under the cut!
ofc there's still cosmetic paradise meiku no kiseki, or コスメちっくパラダイス~メイクのキセキ~. absolustely wild the changes this game got, the major ones are listed in that post i linked but wanted to share the different covers here
Tumblr media
and now we have ballet star (aka princess ballerina or プリンセスバレリーナ 夢みる4人のプリマドンナ) which i haven't gone too far into but it's real good so far, def deserved more than the imagine series treatment.
also judging from the second photoset i found they just Delete one of the girls (they like deleting someone when there's 4 of them it seems lmao). i need to play more and do more research in all the changes but that seems to be the main thing so far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and finally the last game i wanna mention in detail is petz vet (aka himawari doubutsu byouin, or ひまわりどうぶつ病院)! i started playing it today and it's really interesting, having 11 endings in total and a set story to follow (similar to the cosmetic paradise series but with vet work instead of make-up work)
thankfully this one didn't get too many changes! just westernized names and one of the minigames being made easier (which i can't blame them tbh). they even kept that one of the guys moved from another country and speaks the game's language roughly!
i'm excited to finish it, and possibly play again.
Tumblr media
also please look at this dog in the game. peak dog. named her tama.

Biggest tragedy is that I can't learn every single language of all the cool artists/other creators I've seen throughout this fandom bc to do that I'd need to become fluent in at least 4 different languages at once alkdjflskd

Hello dear followers! It is I, white artist! Because I believe in diversity I took this Japanese character (who I view as white) and turned them into a Black character (which is the only (overgeneralised) ethnicity I see the inclusion of as diversity) Perhaps when this does well I shall make some fanart of my favourite middle eastern, south east asian, and desi characters (whitewashed, of course) as a reward! and then maybe I'll write a rant about how Japanese Media about Japanese characters lacks diversity due to its all white cast.

like i said it before but it's unbelievable how difficult it is to find premade backgrounds that are literally anything other than japanese school and japanese neighborhood. and like parks and beaches i guess
some of the more prominent jpn background makers have expanded a lot to a lot more locations like countryside and european fantasy but its still extremely limiting for settings, and even stuff that you might think would be more obvious like a cafe or something is still significantly less common.
i don't understand why it's the first instinct of artists who post premade assets to immediately make ANOTHER school set most classrooms are generic looking enough that new ones don't add much in terms of variety unless they're going for a different flavor like maybe a fantasy lecture hall or something, and the ones that already exist can reasonably be used for most settings to begin with.

Pro tip: if "Boycott (...)" is trending on Twitter, don't click it. 99.99% of the time most of the Tweets are incredibly bigoted and the boycott is related to the company supporting trans people. I have not once in recent days seen a Boycott (...) trend in which the boycott was actually a valid complaint.

kazuki, have u ever thought of having children??? hae u ever... thought about being a dad? 🤔 how do u feel when you think of being a dad?
@astremourante | me rn
---
"Don't you have literally anything better to do."
A cloud of smoke blocks the path from his eyes to the ceiling. The cord hanging from the lamp there is a fine irrelevant chain. It's a relatively old house, kept in relatively perfect shape. It has all the traits of a mansion: spacious, the wood is a rich dark colour, every door slides perfectly, every plant seems to mean something, every corner and corridor almost designed to make sure you grow smaller and smaller with each step, while the person guiding you deeper grows bigger and bigger.
You glance out at the internal garden and it's perfect.
And you feel like a bird trapped in a cage large enough to grant you movement, but never large enough for your wings to ache with the effort of reaching the sky.
Back and forth in two swings.
Birds are so fast.
You're so trapped.
Kazuki has never idealized nor romanticized the concept of fatherhood. He believes in the phrase 'everyone can be a father, not everyone can be a dad'.
The word 'dad' is silly and childish to him, suited to a boy of an age that barely reaches his knee, not for a man like him.
His father is father, if they're both feeling a little lazy, a little loose. It's about hierarchy and position and impression and perspective. Calling him by his title, even better, head of it all, the mastermind to have made an art out of the plight of others, like so many before him.
But... how many after him?
Kazuki blinks, slow and unfocused. Something is playing softly in the background. He saved an old radio from somewhere once, it's charming, it's in good shape, and the signs of age it does bear only add to its beauty.
He doesn't even like Matsubara Miki, he lies.
He's never thought about being a father, he lies.
"I'd want to do better," she's too cheerful for his mood, but perhaps the genre of her music dictates it. Hasn't this become a hit overseas in recent years? From Japan's 80s to the US' 2020s. Time is an odd thing.
"I'd want to do better... but I don't know what that means," his voice but barely louder than a drunken mumble.
"I wonder if my father ever thought of being a dad... if he ever thought of having children the way people normally think of having children," there's something almost poetic about how mundane it all feels. He could be in a small apartment in the belly of a large city, look outside and watch the skyline paint it a beauty far into the center where rich people live and move and thrive.
Listen to a train stop and go, not being able to see who's laughing down below the balcony, watch red and pale lights fade as cars move in and out of streets.
He could be standing out on that balcony, smoking his cigarette there, arms on the railing, warm and summery, wondering how much longer 'til the rain season begins, and then feel a tug at his leg.
The real Kazuki smiles, angry and small.
"If it made him happy... I probably wouldn't have any, if it made my father happy for me to have some," open defiance, a rarity.
He looks down in his daydream, and a child smiles back up at him.
She has a wicked little glint in her eyes, she's so much smarter than he'll ever be. Of course she will be, she's so much better than he'll ever be, and that's what being a parent should feel like, knowing you're nothing in contrast to the sight of your child smiling. You're just a vessel for their safety and you want to get it right and you don't deserve it.
Her lips widen into a mischievous grin.
When Kazuki notices who she resembles he sits up, grabs the radio, and Matsubara Miki can only manage to ask you one last time to stay with her, knocking on midnight's door, before her voice disappears in the shattering of components and the silence of a bad man's rage.
Kazuki is a bad man.
"No one like me should have children," he breathes at the wall he's now staring at.
"I have better things to do."

I started reading Billy Bat manga by Urasawa Naoki (u may know him as the guy who did Monster) and jesus christ its wild. Absolute experience. Judas and Jesus are in it, so are ninjas, so is lee harvey oswald (technically at least 3), theres a bat thats satire about how evil mickey mouse and disney are, there's lying cartoons galore, there's the civil rights movement, the oppressivr terror of the ku klux klan and the structural damage of segregation and fucked up laws, and the pervasiveness of advertising and the coca cola company ("golden cola") there's real events sprinkled with gratuitious fictional shit about manipulative God Billy Bat (or perhaps "administrator/guide to the human race"), a scroll that could control the world, Fake walt disney has hired killers, the looming brutality of imperialism and corporations buying out poorer areas, killing in other countries and breaking laws and whatever else is needed to acquire what they want, there's a cartoon dog kennedy assasination, a baby kevin inherits the powers of an older kevin, there's ninjas and priests, there's a small town out west full of cowboy larpers who are this comic artists biggest fan club, a secret agent Smith with a heart of gold (one hopes), a teenager named jackie whos seeing visions, there's a good and evil fake "mickey mouse" bat but frankly theyre probqbly both evil cause either way they lie and manipulate to get people to do what they want, judas cameos not only in his jesus arc but as a little kiddo, and like. Im not even halfway done. Einstein JUST showed up.
#rant#billy bat#its. an experience ill say that. its wild and im kind of floored it got published#it makes a lot of good points but its also ultimately a long winding Batshit Wild Bat Cartoon-as-God MYSTERY thriller#so its like. oh you learn about the pains of cowardice. the cruelties of corporations.#the way society doesnt value a whores life as you cry for her because she was wondetful. the way being just is hard#its hard to be brave and dangerous but it uas to be done. the vile dangers of advertizing and capitalism and profit over human life.#but then also. theres a fucking bat talking to a girl in her college class lol#its an interesting perspective in a way also cause like...#1 a lot of comic artists just full on would not touch these elements in their plots at all. and while ive seen these topics in stories#before. tjis is the most Pointed Disney/governments/corporations critique ive seen in comics. since like. its literally fake disney#ajd real ass historical figures and govts getting critiqued.#then 2 in japanese manga i havent seen foreign events covered much. and its interesting to see the perspective of#world events and america from this author. and his choice to make the protagonists who he did: a japanese american whos born american#and was in the allies as a translator. part of the US occupation when he initially visits japan.#the japanese mangaka whos older than ww2. the white upper class (truly upper class) coca cola#dynasty equivalent inheritor. a lower class black woman factory worker from florida whos outspoken and a leader and#braver than her husband. their kiddo kevin whos the most important person in the world worth saving. jackie the japanese american teen girl#eho grew up Loving fake disney and is in college. her dad the taxi driver who through other people#eventhally got the courage to go reunite with his wife and daughter jackie who left him.#(oh also a european priest and JUDAS and a ninja)#its just like. the author worked hard to put what feels like a japanese and american perspective and the Many ways those overlap and Dont#into this. as well as a variety of upper class and lower class characters. the rich fake walt disney and the poor bat town mayor and elder#who get killed for standing in the way of a corporations dreams.#jackie kennedy and the sweet girl who saved cartoonist Kevin and worked the street.#the rich dynasty inheritor of golden cola and his working class wife. how it all falls away in the deep soutj with pther lines#society draws. the poor student jackie versus the other protagonists witj a job#how kevin yamagata has not much connection to japan except a fondness for his parents. while jackie is even more#culturally removed (having never even visited japan) but her family still has their heritage of stories and places they miss and#want to visit and traditions her dad still regulalry discusses.
